the show (911), its writers, et. al didn’t use this episode to “show what they think of buddie shippers”; they used this episode to show that they don’t think about them or its shippers at all.

#ignoring the fact that its an ensemble show and that while buck is wildly popular and oliver is the one who speaks to the media the most #those two guys and their peers are not the CORE audience who theyre writing towards #theyre basically secondary (buck) and tertiary characters (eddie) as proven by the opening credits #even if none of the aforementioned were the case i doubt anyone involved in storylines is taking the time to scroll through social media #heavily to the point they let fandom dictate what is written/which stories are being told #so they def aren't taking the time to prove a point to a small group that's not even considered it core audience #i highly doubt they wanted to write them more together but have paused on that because they dont want people to get the wrong idea #they genuinely DGAF that much #the show doesnt have to close a door that was never there nor do they have to backtrack on something they've never tracked in the 1st place #they're not course correcting bc they dont think of you guys or take you seriously to begin with #sorry not sorry #the emergency is the viewers
