Recently (as my followers would have seen) I had an encounter with someone who ended up admitting to keeping at least three Ao3 accounts active where they were not just taking fics posted to tumblr and posting them to Ao3 as their own, but fully posing as the writers.
This person would create an Ao3 account using the name of a writer who only posts on tumblr and then proceed to copy/paste and publish that writer's fics to those accounts. They did not, at any point, disclose on Ao3 that these accounts were for reposting fics, nor did they obtain anyone's permission to do so.
When I discovered this (by accident) and tagged one of the original writers when this person was abusing me for something unrelated, their response was to threaten to kill me (lmao ok babe.) They then proceeded to admit to all three accounts being accounts made for plagiarising people's fic from tumblr, but then admitted to an additional three accounts I didn't even know about yet. If you're super curious there's screenshots etc on my blog if you dig a little back.
If you are a fic writer who primarily uses tumblr and is not active on Ao3 or does not use Ao3, please check Ao3 occasionally to see if someone has stolen your work.
Search your username if it's a different one, look for keywords or key phrases, you can even use google to search through Ao3 as that might make it a bit easier to find specific sentences that Ao3's search function might come up blank on. These people take advantage of the fact that for whatever reason, Ao3 isn't your playground.
(This is also worth doing with Wattpad as well, I've had a few of mine reposted there, which was crazy because the one stolen the most is a pretty well known one within that community and most of the comments was just people calling them out lmao.)
Fanfic or not, that writing is yours. You worked hard on it. It's your work and the only payment fic writers get is credit and appreciation from readers. Don't let someone steal the one fucking thing you get from this.

If your requests are open, is it alright if I request a part 2 of the platonic sibling headcanons for your favourite Ikevamp boys? Where they find out that reader, their precious beloved little sibling, is actually in love with/dating Dazai. I think it would be hilarious xD
Take your time, and remember to put your own health first! ❤
Hi hoooo, Silveeeer! (if you don’t get it, you don’t get it; and it means I’m really old)
Platonic relationships are so cute! Half of them would die if the reader dated anyone, to be honest, HAISUEHSAUIEHSAUIEA. But oooohhh, it was fun to imagine my dearest Isaac! 🤍
I'm sorry it took so long and I hope you liked it! 🤍
Tumblr media
gn!reader with a sibling-like relationship with them starts to date Dazai | Isaac, Mozart, Jean, Arthur, Theo and Vincent, and Napoleon
Tags: minor spoilers for Dazai’s route; platonic relationships; sibling-like bond; teeny-tiny suggestive parts for Mozart, Jean, and Theo and Vincent (but still sfw, don’t worry!)
Notes: kind of a part 2 of this post, where gn!reader has a sibling-like relationship with them.
Tumblr media
Isaac
“I’m dating Dazai.” — Do you hate him? He feels like you do now.
He was never overprotective or one to pry into your business, but he felt like he should tell you something about it. You are his dearest younger sibling, after all.
He won’t try to separate you not exactly. He just wants to make sure you’re okay — stop glaring at him!
He will ask for Napoleon’s help to have a talk with Dazai. Napoleon is there just giving moral support because he has nothing against the writer. Isaac is in such distress after this talk, he probably got some gray hair. Dazai teased him, and Napoleon didn’t help.
He will tell you about this and every other time Dazai teased him or pulled some kind of prank on him. Might he remind you it was Dazai who gave him wine and said it was juice at the last banquet?
He can finally have a proper talk with Dazai — without being embarrassed or teased — a few weeks later. He can see now that Dazai really cares for you, and his teasing has lessened (but didn’t stop; it never stops).
Just remember your brother is a contrarian, okay? He’ll complain and grimace when he sees you two kissing, but he’ll help you out if Dazai ever tries to avoid you again. He really hopes you two stay together forever; he wants to see you happy.
Now stop bringing him apples every day with the excuse that you’re taking care of your family, Dazai!
No, Dazai, he doesn’t need someone too! Stop trying to set him up with random people!
Tumblr media
Mozart
“Dazai asked me out and I said yes.” — “Pfff, no, you didn’t.”
And it’s not because it’s Dazai. It’s because you’re dating. That’s it.
Overprotective brother activated successfully. Every breath you take, every step you take, he’ll be watching you.
Seriously, he’s watching you two like a hawk. You thought Theo had brother issues? Pff! He won’t leave you alone. Or he’ll try to not leave you alone, but Dazai is too cunning and he always finds a way to evade Mozart and take you with him. Your brother might be fuming by now.
He doesn’t even try to talk with Dazai; he just knows he’s not worthy of you. No one is.
You end up having ‘the talk’ with Mozart. Does he remember when he was having a composer’s block, and Dazai helped? That’s how you start your list of “why Dazai is the safest vampire you could date”. You end the list playfully asking if he’d prefer if you dated any of the other writers, like Arthur, and you swear his eyes twitch with only the thought of it.
He tries to keep his pettiness in check for you. Keyword: try. Spoiler alert: he’s not good at it.
He never sees bite marks on your neck, so he thinks everything is okay and still… decent. He freaks out when Arthur points out that Dazai might be biting you on other parts of your body that don’t show when you’re fully dressed. You want to kill Arthur, while Dazai is just giving that closed-eyes smile of his.
Congrats, overprotective brother is back again at full force.
Tumblr media
Jean
“I’m dating Dazai.” — “Alright.”
Chill brother ftw!
Sweet, clueless, and innocent brother doesn’t see anything wrong with your relationship.
He’ll just make sure this is what you want and that you’re really happy. He doesn’t need much assurance. He trusts you, and he knows you never lie to him.
He doesn’t have a problem with Dazai, so why should he be worried?
However, he will miss spending more time with you in the beginning of your relationship. So Dazai makes sure to include him in your plans sometimes. He might even help you teach Jean how to write and read. (This is too wholesome to imagine)
Jean doesn’t even know what ‘the talk’ is. The roles are reversed: Dazai ends up having it with him, and you’re freaking out. It ends well though; it seems your new boyfriend didn’t say anything weird. This time.
His only problem might be if he sees you two leaving the same room in the morning. He won’t think much of it until Arthur makes some comment about it. And now Jean thinks you two need to get married. Congrats and thank you, Arthur.
Tumblr media
Arthur
“Dazai asked me to date him.” — “Oh, hell no!” — “Oh, hell yes!”
Anyone but him! Seriously! If you don’t want any of the other residents, he can introduce you to someone! He has some acquaintances downtown... That’s when you hit his arm and glare at him. Okay, message received.
He won’t have ‘the talk’ with Dazai, he can’t stand the idea of having this conversation with Dazai.
Again, are you sure you don’t want someone else? If you want a writer, even Shakespeare could be acceptable… You hit him again. Fine! Shakespeare wasn’t acceptable either anyway; he was just desperate.
Dazai doesn’t tease Arthur, so your brother will bring up the times Dazai teased you, like that time you two got stuck downtown because of the rain.
And you bring up the times Dazai helped you, or when he tried to cheer you up. You even list all the times he tried to help him, and Arthur was rude to him.
Touché.
Canonly, he wants to see you breaking Dazai’s masks. So he might accept your relationship just so he can see it and finally be able to read him. Spoiler alert: he still can’t read Dazai, and it drives the sore loser him crazy sometimes.
But you can, so he has to shut his mouth and support you. He’ll be happy for you, eventually.
Tumblr media
Theo and Vincent
“I’m dating Dazai.” — “You’ve got the worst taste in men.” — “Oh, congrats! Can we all have lunch together sometime?”
Guess who said what.
Vincent is really happy for you! He already knows Dazai, so he doesn’t need to make sure he is a nice person for you.
Theo is not happy for the exact same reason: he knows Dazai.
He protects you like he protects Vincent and sometimes even more because you are younger. Did you know Dazai goes to the casino? What else does he do downtown? Do you know? Do you seriously trust him?
You have to throw back at Theo that he goes to the pub with Arthur all the time. What does he do there? Why does he only come back in the morning? … Okay, he got it.
Theo promises that he’ll try to contain his brother issues if you’re too upset with him. He doesn’t promise he’ll succeed. Vincent is gladly there to scold him every time.
Vincent will ask if two can pose together for a new painting, while Theo will glare and curse a lot. It’s a lovely painting that you hang in your bedroom.
They’ll both be mad if you shed a single tear because of the writer. Dazai better run, and he better run fast because an angry Vincent is even worse than an angry Theo.
“Sleeping with Dazai is one step removed from sleeping with Arthur.” (he actually says it in Dazai’s route) WAIT. You haven’t slept together yet, have you? HAVE YOU? Vincent had to drag him out of the dining room because Dazai gave that signature smile of his and said, “Oh my, I can’t remember.”
(Imagine Theo lashing out, and Vincent just goes, “Calm down, they just slept together! What’s wrong with sleeping?”)
Theo will try to find a way to have ‘the talk’ with Dazai without you and Vincent knowing. It’ll turn out surprisingly fine, and he starts to trust Dazai a little more. A little.
Arthur is talking about the bite marks not being visible when you’re fully dressed again, just so he can see his best friend losing his mind. Vincent doesn’t understand what’s the problem; he thinks it’s in your arms or some innocent place. God bless this angel.
Theo is back at glaring and cursing.
Tumblr media
Napoleon
“Dazai asked me out.” — “Alright, have fun.”
Chill brother ftw! #2
He knows Dazai and he has nothing against him.
He trusts you and your decisions, so he won’t pry or be an overprotective brother mode.
He taught you self-defense and he knows you’ll come to him if you need something anyway.
He will talk to Dazai, but it won’t be exactly ‘the talk’. He just wants to make sure he’s not just killing time with you, even though that’s not something he believes the writer would do… But he’s gotta make sure. It was nice, like friends chatting to catch up on their lives, y’know?
If Dazai runs away from you like he does on his route before you start dating, he will not be pleased. But he will try to help you out, if you ask.
If a single tear is seen in your eyes, you bet he throws the chill-brother-state-of-mind out of the highest window of the mansion along with Dazai.
Seriously, he won’t freak out about your relationship, and he won’t do anything unless you ask him to. He really just wants you to be happy.
He’ll try to read Dazai’s books. Gotta support family.
(Can we imagine him ruffling your hair and then ruffling Dazai’s hair? Okay, sorry…)

in my head - yjw (teaser)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
read here!
; pairing - jungwon x fem!reader
; synopsis - you’ve hated jungwon ever since you two met on the train to hogwarts back in first year; he’s self-centered, lazy, and always coming out for you. now in your seventh year, you’ve been named head girl (woohoo!). unfortunately, the head boy position was given to the one and only yang jungwon (boohoo…). with no other choice, you’re forced to face the annoyingly attractive boy and work with him for the rest of the year - if you can even last that long.
; wc (teaser) - 416 (full story estimated to be 10k)
; release - september 10th.
; tags - ravenclaw! headboy!jungwon, slytherin! headgirl!reader, rivals to lovers, enemies to lovers, hogwarts au (with a modern twist), bc they have tablets and stuff
; warnings - yn trips, flashes people, wants to slap jungwon, just a lot of hostility between them in general..
Tumblr media
everyone’s eyes are on you as you stand up at the front of the great hall while the headmaster - professor bang si hyuk - introduces you as this year’s head girl. looking at all the students staring back up at you, you almost feel proud of yourself (keyword: almost).
you’d think someone would be overjoyed at being acknowledged and recognised enough to have been given such a high position, but you aren’t.
instead, you’re silently fuming, just barely keeping your temper in check as you plaster a fake smile on your face. your eye twitches as you hear a low chuckle from-
“the head boy, yang jungwon!” the headmaster announces. cheers erupt from around the room, all clapping for their new heads.
“i can feel the waves of anger practically radiating off of you,” he murmured quietly.
yang jungwon.
the boy you despised so much.
listen, you don’t really hate anyone, but you’re pretty sure that what you feel towards the boy you called ‘yang’ is close enough.
in all your six years at hogwarts, you two have constantly been at each other’s throats. arguments often broke out between you in corridors; fights wherein one would end up stupefied or thrown against the wall; even little sabotages against each other that were subtle enough that teachers could pass off as an accident or your own fault rather than the other’s.
for example, back in third year, yang had tripped you on your way into the great hall after everyone got off the hogwarts express. you had flashed everyone behind you and scraped your knee when you landed on the ground.
although no one saw him do it, you immediately knew who the culprit was, especially when he smirked down at you over his shoulder as he walked ahead. oh how badly you wanted to slap that smile off his face in the moment.
you retaliated the next week by mixing his white laundry with red clothes, so he was forced to attend his classes with pink uniform until he got new shirts. nothing satisfied you more than the glares he sent your way throughout the first day of his pink week, you could feel him boring holes into the back of your head even when you weren’t looking.
now, a sigh escapes you as you think of the (eventful) year coming up. spending the last year of your studies with your arch nemesis wasn't what you had in mind, but it surely can't be that bad, right?

hey, so. funny thing.
@whinysteve and i have been going insane for like two days because we couldn't find this one fic we really liked, and we both remembered reading it not so long ago but somehow neither of us could recall how it ended? and we kept saying that it's so GOOD and how the heck did it just disappear? well, after hours of losing my mind going through my ao3 history, the steve/tony tag with various keywords, the findingstony blog... it. it hit me that i can't find it because it doesn't exist. because it was the soulmates au idea you posted like two weeks ago where their words only show up after they've met their soulmate.
i thought you might find this amusing. 😩 (i do, but i also need to lie down for a bit because i will never know how steve fixed that mess)
hahahaha omg liv if this is your way of peer pressuring me into writing the whole fic i might actually do it??? because your ask has got me thinking about what would happen next.
that said, steve still hasn't figured out how to fix this mess. i'm very sorry about this.
(stonyclunks soulmates au part one here)
---
having been rescued by SHIELD, news of steve's recovery was immediately delivered to howard stark who, while not as involved with SHIELD as he used to be, still receives weekly reports as one of its co-founders.
he'd gone home that night and brought it up in the middle of cutting his steak. coincidentally, tony had been visiting that day and stayed for dinner, so he found out about captain america's miraculous resurrection before the general public did, and honestly, he had enough of hearing about how great this guy was growing up. he really didn't need to keep hearing about it as an adult after he'd finally worked through his issues with his dad and his obsession with a (not quite) dead war hero.
so after howard's announcement, tony politely requested howard refrain from talking about this guy with him.
"i know he's your friend, and you'll probably be spending a bit of time with him now that he's been found, and i'm really happy for you, but i think it would be better for our relationship if we could talk about literally anything but him," he'd said.
and, well. howard was trying. he knew he wasn't the best dad and he also wanted to do right by maria, who spent so many years torn between her son and her husband while trying to mend their relationship. they were finally in a relatively good place with each other which made maria happy. and to be frank, howard had actually come to really enjoy tony's company whenever he was home. he was quite happy too. so he agreed. they don't talk about steve and howard doesn't ask tony to meet steve.
that very night, tony made sure 'captain america' and 'steve rogers' were muted in all his news feeds and social channels.
he literally doesn't know a single thing about the man besides what he learned in his childhood, which he's blocked out. it's a peaceful two years of blissful ignorance.
fast forward to now, tony's packing up his suitcase and getting ready to check out of his hotel when he sees a text from his mom in their family group chat.
seems he's not quite the perfect role model you always made him out to be, howard 🤡, her message reads.
what follows is a link to an instagram post, and from the message preview he can see that it's steve rogers' profile, and under normal circumstances he wouldn't even bother clicking the link.
but 1) maria usually never brings up the man in tony's presence either, and 2) her comment made him laugh. so color tony intrigued.
he taps the link and sees the post. it's a picture of a coffee cup from the place he was at a week ago. the one where he got body slammed by his mysterious dick of a soulmate and unfairly yelled at for it.
he reads the caption and his legs give out under him.
i don't even know if you'll see this, but all i can do is hope. i'm sorry for the words that have made their mark on you. i know i don't deserve it, but i'm hoping you could give me a second chance. i won't yell at you this time, i promise. yours, a fucking asshole
one week ago, captain america was barely even a blip on tony's radar and that's how he preferred it. now, steve rogers is tony's mysterious dick of a soulmate.
what the fuck even is his life.

The Bad Batch Appreciation Week 2024 is HERE!!!
The time for appreciating Clone Force 99 has arrived! Y'know, like the cavalry 😅 Don't mind my bad pun!
What I was saying? Oh, yeah! The prompts have been revealed HERE, so we must refresh the rules. They're the same as last year, but it doesn't hurt to review them again, right? So:
Event Info & Rules
TBB APPRECIATION WEEK is a week-long, prompt-based creation challenge to celebrate our love for the Batchers and the show. There are 7 groups of prompts—one for each day of the week—, which can be used, skipped, or combined in any way you’d like. They are meant to be an inspiration without being taken literally (i.e., you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts in your work). Feel free to interpret them at your convenience. For example, if the prompt is “anooba”, you can create either something about the animal, use it as a name/mascot of a sports team in your modern-day AU, or as an analogy for someone with a voracious appetite. It’s up to you.
Each group contains a Theme (which is in and on itself a prompt), an AU/Trope, Dialogue, an extra character, NSFW, and a color palette). You can use them in combination or just pick one. The idea is to give everyone as much creative freedom as possible. The participants can create works in any media they choose, including but not limited to: writing, art, edits, gifs, videos, playlists, cosplays, etc. The only restriction is that it needs to be focused on The Bad Batch (can be on a particular Batcher alone).
Also, people can participate as little or as much as they want, meaning that they don’t have to do ALL the days if they can't/don’t want to.
Collaborations are welcome and even encouraged. For example, if an artist and a writer want to work together, or a writer and a podficcer, or two writers, go for it!
When uploading TBB Appreciation Week content to your Tumblr blog, be sure to mention this blog and add the following hashtags:
#tbbaw2024
#the theme of the day and/or #prompt(s) used
#medium (gifset, fic, podcast, fanart, etc.)
#trigger warnings, if applies. (Please do NOT to add “tw” in front or at the end but only use the word/trigger itself, because the way Tumblr tag blocker feature works, it makes it harder for people to block the right tag.) (List of trigger warnings)
#nsfw (only for NSFW content)
#any other relevant tags go here
PLEASE BE DILIGENT WITH YOUR TAGGING (both by mentioning the blog and putting the necessary tags). That'll ensure that your post will be reblogged on this blog.
I'll do my best to reblogged everyone's posts, but if it passes 2–3 days and I haven't posted yours, please let me know.
If you are posting NSFW fics or art on Tumblr, I ask that you use the Keep Reading break to hide the NSFW portion of your work; and please, give the proper warnings. On Ao3, please, use the correct rating and warnings as well.
If you want, you can also add your work to the Ao3 Collection (closed at the moment, but I'll open it in due time). (Use the tags TBB Appreciation Week 2024 and/or TBBAW 2024 when posting.)
There won't be censorship in this event, so everyone is free to create whatever they want. Participants are expected to hold judgment to themselves of others and their works, even if they don't agree with or find it repulsive. That means that harassment of anyone or anything that they post (even if said work is something you personally find morally reprehensible) WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Anyone that breaks this rule will be banned from the event. Curate your own experience by blocking what upsets/squicks/triggers you, and leave everyone else alone. That's the importance of the correct tagging, as it says above.
Important!! Show support to other participants by liking, reblogging, AND commenting. If an author or artist has asked for constructive criticism (not the same as a comment, and with constructive being the keyword) you may give it. However, refrain to give any of the unsolicited kind, as it can be discouraging for the author or artist.
But most of all, HAVE FUN!!! This is meant to be a lay-back event to show love for our favorite characters.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!
If you have questions, you can check out the F.A.Q post. But if you don't find there the answer you're looking for, send me a message to the ask box or a DM, either in this blog or my fandom blog @nimata-beroya.
Thanks for reading, and happy creating!
Mare 💜

I really love your work. I've read all of them, more than once, and you've inspired me to make my own! I really like your profile, and if I'm not mistaken, you're the only one I know with a "search keywords" feature. I also think it's very clean to look at, easy to navigate for new users. I really hate the idea of bothering you, but I'd really appreciate it if you could give tips and advice for new users like me. I'm still new to tumblr, sorry and thank you in advance.
asdflkhjldfgh that's so sweet of you to say!!! i'm really glad you love my stuff, bc looking back, i'm super proud of almost all of it. like, i think i had a lot of bangers, and it's so validating to hear that you think so, too <3
and don't worry about bothering me. i won't lie, i've been getting a BUNCH of asks, but it's so, so encouraging to have all this engagement. it really motivates me to write bc i'm like,,, look,, all these friends in my inbox who want to read my work 🥺
i hope your inspiration goes well! i haven't been great about reblogging other people's work lately, but i do actually read a lot of stuff, particularly in the gojo/yandere gojo tags.
that's my number one piece of advice btw - tag the shit out of all your stuff. tumblr tags can be forgiving or a bit stiff depending on how a person is searching for fics.
literally search for an example of the kind of fic you're writing. take a top example with a whole bunch of notes. look at the tags on it. often it'll be something like:
fandom, fandom x reader, fandom x yn, fandom x you, char, character full name, char x reader, char x you, char smut, char x reader smut
and just go. slap on all the tags. make sure you don't include anything inaccurate though! i do also know some writers, particularly yandere ones, who write fics and then tag all the applicable characters, which is a great way to show up in a log of searches.
basically the fic won't contain a character's name - if it's for a male character, the character will just be "he/him" in the story. and then in the tags (or in the body of the fic) the writer will list character who they think fits the archetype.
@yanderenightmare does these really well (they also write fics with specific characters in them), and as fate would have it, they've also given out writing on tumblr advice:
https://www.tumblr.com/yanderenightmare/762144865228357632/heya-do-you-have-any-more-writing-tips-for?source=share
on search keywords - i've always found searching on tumblr to be spotty, so those tags are kind of my attempt to have some organization.
there are other blogs that do it (tumblr's huge, there's always someone doing something) but it's not necessarily common. #lemon as a smut tag and #answered asks and #BYHTD as filtering tags are kind of things that just came up when i was thinking "how will i find this if i want to look back on it later?".
i will also mention, i am by no means some particularly great tumblr power user or anything. i just started writing my silly little fics way back in june sjkfglhsg honestly i'm surprised by some of the attention i've been getting! i figured a lot of my stuff was kinda niche!
more advice. make a masterlist pretty early on and update it like... every few weeks or so. try to make a schedule to post and keep to it - for this blog i try to post a fic/content every wednesday, although i'm thinking about doing twice a week or an odd middle update every now and then.
do not be scared of other tumblrs. make friends. reblog their stuff! people really like it when you do that! if you see a fic you like, reblog it, and leave a comment in the tags or the reblog, even if it's just "my favorite part was X". they may never interact with you (such is the nature of online socialization), but you gotta be the change you wish to see in the world.
writer friends are a super valuable resource. they can help you come up with ideas, cheer you on, workshop stuff with you, and just generally make you feel good about writing when your juice is failing you.
i know MANY writers who go through periods of just thinking they're bad writers and all their work is bad, etc. it's a struggle and having other writers to tell you "i don't think it's bad" does a LOT.
in any case, from one writer to another writer (hopeful), good luck!

i love your talks of aspects what can you say / your opinion on doom aspect? im knight of doom
Certainly, I can do an overview of the Doom Aspect for you. If you'd like me to post my analysis of the Knight of Doom, feel free to send another ask! I really do not mind being spammed. I feel as though it is often that Doom is characterized by its inverse aspect the most, as people tend to better understand the intricacies of the Life Aspect than they do Doom (this can be due to personal bias, environment, culture, ect). I also personally feel as though the Doom Aspect is overlooked or simply not understood and thus forgotten about, but that's just the general feeling I have picked up from perusing tags here and there.
Doom is an extremely interesting aspect. The remaining 11 aspects are about growing into your aspect through your class, but "growth" is one of the keywords of Life, Doom's inverse. How does one approach Doom and expect to grow?
From The Extended Zodiac, I pulled these keywords from the Doom Aspect description. These would be the "canon" traits; they are what I adhere to when analyzing, but it should also be understood that this concept encompasses much more to do with than these keywords. Its "vibe", if you will, is much more than what is written.
TEZ Doom Keywords: Suffering, wisdom, empathy, listeners, commiserators, wise, kind, non-judgemental, (bitter, resentful, fatalistic)
I'll admit that I had trouble understanding what the Doom Aspect was supposed to be at first. But as I analyzed it further, it occurred to me that this may be the aspect of those who have trauma, or those who have learned to cope through the bad circumstances they've been given and what they've experienced in life. This aspect may be best understood as an outside force that acts upon the player, or a force that the player themself uses upon others. (See: The Condesce's Alternia; the entire thing reeks of Doom). This is not also to say that if you have trauma, you are automatically Doombound. There is nuance involved, and it is important to keep in mind that an Aspect is the force that is most important in a person's life, whether lacking or abundant, whether good or bad, whether they want it or not. Another aspect may be stronger for an individual, even if trauma is a big part of their life.
It is the aspect of tragedy, but it is not necessarily tragic. It is very easy to fail the Doom Aspect, but those who hold onto it are often extremely steadfast, even if they're only hanging on by a thread. The Doombound may be irate about it, but their suffering matters because they deserve better. As in tragedies, we cry because we know it can be better. For others, it can be spite, spitting at the lot you've been given in life and making the most of it anyways, for what else can you do? Commiseration is quite possibly Doom's biggest theme.
The keywords I chose for Doom are "Acceptance, Compliance, Wisdom, and Sympathy". Acceptance and Compliance may be better understood as "coming to terms", accepting and complying with what is there because it's the only choice you've been given. As well, Acceptance isn't necessarily complacency, but rather an acknowledgement of the reality of a situation, and navigating through it as best as one can from what they have. Doombound are able to offer Wisdom when they see others in similar experiences, Sympathetic because they too know what it's like, but how they go about offering their Wisdom and Sympathy can vary. The Doombound are not growing the way the Lifebound are, often trapped or restricted from doing so.
Doom, being Life's inverse, is also given the symbols of illness, rot, stagnation, decay, and we can see this in both Sollux and Mituna in canon. As poorly as Mituna was handled, he as an Heir of Doom (Passive Embodiment), embodies a lot of mental illness. Sollux as a Mage of Doom (Active Knower) had too much experience with Doom as a whole, and he stagnates heavily because of it, later becoming a ghost, which is quite a literal symbol. I will admit that Doom is one of my weakest understood aspects, and it has been a while since I read Homestuck, so I am unfortunately not as familiar with the Captors' character arcs in canon as I would like to be. I'm very happy to invite discussion! I enjoy hearing other perspectives.

hello,how r u?
i hope ur doing okay
i have a question, how can i improve my writing skills and draw people to my blog?
btw you're so cool🌸
hii angel, im doing well thank you, how are you? I think you’re cool💓
im in no way a pro, so these are just some tips and tricks that I find helpful and some that I use
I think the main ones are:
— read a wide variety of other writers work, but from different fandoms and different ways of writing. that way you can establish what sounds and reads best. it helps you learn different formats and that way you can see what works best for you. but only take influence from them, don’t copy
— write in a way that feels natural to you. I think we all kind of have a flow when writing, and that makes it more organic. try to stick to that, and then it flows easier
— make mind maps to base your story on. write lists of keywords and phrases you like that you can implement into your work
— start small as not to overwhelm yourself. at first stick to a character (assuming you mean fanfic) you’re the most comfortable with, and note down details about them, how they act, how they talk. and it’ll make things easier and help keep the ball rolling
— my style of writing has changed loads from when I first started, so be open to the idea that at first it might not be how you 100% want it. but just keep at it, and practice in different ways and then you find that sweet spot
— there are lots of writer tip blogs on here, so have a little look on those. they can be really helpful, especially if you’re stuck/ in a block
— learn/ understand how to structure sentences and paragraphs, and it just makes everything easier. eventually it becomes second nature and you don’t even have to think about it
drawing people to your blog:
— use tags correctly. sometimes when people tag something as angst and it’s actually fluff, it peeves others off and sometimes it earns them a block. clogging them doesn’t always mean more visibility
— in the tags, use the character name, character name x reader, character name (genre: ie fluff, angst, smut) character name fanfic or fanfiction or fic, character name x you or y/n, character name series or movie title. those sorts of things. it makes it simple and clear and again, it lets readers know exactly what they’re reading
— have the title, pairing, word count, warnings clear from the beginning. it makes it easy for readers to know what exactly they are getting. have a look at other writers, but again don’t copy theirs. have images too, a pic of the character or the vibe of the story makes the whole thing more visibly appealing. I often ignore writing posts that don’t have those clear, it’s very deterring
— follow and reblog others work. it creates a community
— once you’re comfortable with who you originally write for, move onto others, maybe ones that are more popular and that way you’re more likely to get more people involved
— sounds silly, but don’t focus too much on notes and numbers, it’s important to have fun with it, and its not when it feels labouring
hope these help lovie💓

on ao3 I always see people doing challenges... how do you join challenges?
-someone who wants to try a challenge
Daaahhh okay so I haven't participated in fandom challenges in years. Back in my day we had bangs (themed collab events between writers and artists they were awesome but also led to my 18 month burn out so watch out) but I don't see those anymore :( Might be because I don't write for spn anymore? Not sure what happened there. But I do see some challenges float across my dash sometimes.
There are a lot of bingo ones. Tbh idk where those come from lol They just sort of show up? I think people just make them and some get traction and others don't. You can try searching *keyword* bingo and see what comes up but I can't help you beyond that, sorry.
Challenges pretty much always have a recurring theme and timeline and hopefully a dedicated blog where the mods post prompts, FAQs, and rules. Like the sicktember challenge is a month long hurt/comfort prompt event that takes place in September. They already have their 2023 prompt list up so you can check that out as well as the linked FAQ and how to submit if you're interested in participating in that one (or if you just want to get a feel for how these things typically work).
Each challenge kind of operates in its own way with specific rules on what they allow in story submissions so be sure to give the rules a read before you sign up, but generally you get a list of prompts and have a certain deadline to finish writing and then post it on tumblr using the specified tags, or post on AO3 and add it to the specified challenge collection, or both! Again, whatever challenge you're interested in should have all of that spelled out for you on their blog. If you're iffy on the details you should be able to submit an ask with questions.
If you've seen a challenge you want to participate in on ao3 then you can try searching for it here on tumblr and hopefully find a blog for it, or you can comment on a fic that's part of the challenge and (compliment the fic first) ask how you can get in involved and where to go to find out more information.
If all else fails you can search "writing challenge" on tumblr and wade through the results until you find something that looks interesting, but keep in mind challenges tend to be seasonal so you'll see very different results searching now as opposed to December as opposed to February etc etc.
I have a tendency to follow challenge blogs that look interesting as they pop up on my dash (even though I know I'll likely never participate, I'm just nosy 😅, I wanna know what everyone's up to). Let me take a gander through my following list and see what all I've got...
@flufftober @whumptober @sicktember @shortfictionweeklychallenge @writeblrsummerfest @nanowrimo @ockissweek @webpril @spideypoolbigbang <- a bang!! @marvelartparty <- art only @parknerweek @flashfictionfridayofficial
That's everything from me. Does anyone else have any writing challenge blogs they could share?
Editing to add @marvel-events-central from the replies (look at all the good shit in that there blog 👀)

I know that might have seemed like something against your content but it truly wasnt. I've seen many adult creators not know that their stuff was appearing in main tags where it might reach wider than their target audience. I was Genuinely trying to make sure you knew. I am sorry you've dealt with enough negativity when expressing yourself on here that my message registered as hostile
no, your message registered as ignorant. my content is NOT appearing in main tags because i am not using general tags on my posts. YOU are not searching Tagged Results. and that's all on you, baby. you COULD search tags, but you're not. and then you're over here trying to tell me something as if your ignorant choices are My responsibility, when they're not. your message says, "i don't know how to properly search for anything on this website" and that's just not my problem. that is literally not something within my responsibility, it's not something to be held accountable for. which is what you're trying to do... incorrectly. if you're not against my posts, then why you saying anything to me about your personal skill issue? did you see the post staff made, a whopping TEN YEARS AGO, about the search functionality update? educate yourself.
asking someone, who is not using main tags on their posts, to prevent their posts from showing up in general search results is asking them to silence themselves and not write ANYTHING about the topic at all. because search results provide a feed based on using EVERY word in a post as a "keyword." do you understand that? you're going around telling adult creators not to write their posts at all, so they won't show up in your keyword algorithm based General Search results, instead of searching ACTUAL TAGS and using tag filters to avoid any adult content you don't approve of seeing in the generalized search results... Do You Understand How The Search Feature On Tumblr Works? because you keep talking like you don't, and like that has fuck all to do with me or ANY other creator on here...
Tumblr media
did you even read my reply? because i took the time to explain this to you. i showed you the difference between searching a 'word' and a 'tag' and then you sent me this ask... like... you need to learn better and do better. stop harassing creators, whether they make adult posts or sfw only content, because YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO SEARCH TAGGED RESULTS. your willful ignorance is not everyone else's responsibility.

Hi, I am new to this platform. Can you please tell me that how can I make my work visible to the audience, both for reading and criticizing?
Hoo, boy...this is a long process that takes time. But it can be done!
@heroineimages was in this position, and did some reaching out to folks for reading & critiquing, and has been getting fantastic feedback for their sandals & sorcery story from a lot of sources. (I say critique, not criticize, because you want the thoughtful analyses that include good points as well as fix-this-things. Plenty of people are willing to criticize, but even if you were a massive masochist, your heart is lovely and does not deserve shredding.)
Anyway!
Post your own content, & reblog things you like. (If your blog has a strict theme, stick to that of course, but it limits your options a bit.)
Click name links (with the @ attached, or up in the "reblogged from" at the very top of each entry). Also use the Search feature with keywords that relates to the stuff you're interested in.
(Also include keywords down in the tags area of your own posts.)
Read their stuff, and see if it's similar to what you want to write & be critiqued about.
Find folks you want to follow. (This above all, it does NOT have to be related directly to your writing, because you will find that those who have similar interests in other areas of your life just might have interests in your stuff, too.)
Reblog things they post. Add good comments, so they know you're not a bot, and that you are paying attention to them & their stuff.
Comment if they have the speech-bubble activated, too. (Always keep things polite, and strive more for light-hearted interactions wherever possible.)
Go looking for more content that is similar to your own, and vaguely like your own, too.
Continue to post your own content...and occasionally ask for beta readers & critique partners.
...
Understand that this is a long and slow process that builds up over time.
Understand also that the Tumblr "algorhithm" is literally REBLOGGING STUFF. Keeping that chain of reblogs going. The only way to "game" the system is to blog, follow others, & reblog.
Try to be authentic in your interests that you're curating for your blog, whether it's what you post, or what you reblog from others' posts.
Since what you want to get out of this is readership & (good) critiques, do not fret over follower counts!
People will follow you back, and that's great! You can ask occasionally in your blog for help.
But sometimes you can also post an Ask or a message-chat to someone that you admire & follow, and think they might be a good reader, etc. Politely ask them if they have the time & energy to do a bit of reading & constructive feedback-ing.
You don't have to have masses of Followers to get that, if you can find good quality people who have the time & energy, and are interested in the summary of what you're writing about.
And it all starts with blogs, follows, & reblogs.

I Fell Down A Fucking Hole:
"Which Fucking One of Them is DD??" [*]
Tumblr media
-The start of a fucking 2-day fall down an online hole.
All I wanted was to double-check my guess, but this is one of my tags under this post [link] breaking down my reactions to my screenshot [shown below] of the end of a S1 ad [link], where one can see the oldest versions of the original eight PKL team logos.
My reaction was mostly 'before this I thought the few images that came up in searches were ripoffs, not official', but the tag was specifically about Dabang Delhi's logo in particular. The rest of the original eight lineup I'd confirmed so it had to be DD, but I'd spent a few minutes squinting trying to read it. Info is fucking scarce with PKL generally, especially initial seasons, and it was the only one I couldn't pinpoint even though I'd recognized everyone else's.
Tumblr media
It didn't look like Delhi Dabang/Dabangg [couldn't think of what else it could be when 'Delhi' was clear but not the second word] and I couldn't find anything on it so atp I was like alfuckingright maybe I just go back and change the resolution. I didn't think the video would have a higher res hence not having done that in the first place [I've got used to sifting through low res footage and photos for this blog] but it did and lo and fucking behold when I upped the res and zoomed in again it wasn't Delhi Dabang/g it was fucking Delhi Dynamos.
Tumblr media
Which prompted me on a fucking search because when the hell have they ever been called that - this YouTube video was published 17th July 2014, just 9 days before S1 began on 26th July 2014.
But after sifting through the ISL team's logos [Football, hello - I was unaware], sifting through different season ads [it literally only shows in S1 ads] and trying every combo of keywords I could think of [I fucking reinstalled Pinterest just to look for this bullshit - no you shouldn't do the same there's basically nothing], this is apparently the best fucking pic you're gonna get. My own damn screenshot.
How Long Did This Name Even Fucking Exist, Tf
Hell, Delhi Dynamos doesn't even seem to have even lasted as a S1 team name consideration - even in the 'Sujeet Narwal - STAR Raider - Dabang Delhi' YouTube video from Star Sports [link], after upping the resolution you can clearly see Dabang Delhi at the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the video you can even see the text on their jersey and the DD on the flashing sidelines, which are more to do with this pic below that keeps showing as some obscure version of the logo that I can't connect to anything yet but does appear to exist - and the text is seen in an early fan-made promo video for S2 as well [link] - so I have to consider it as another older version of Dabang Delhi's logo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I cant tell if they started playing with different jersey logos initially [I looked for any other S1 footage of DD] but this Star Sports video was published on 14th Aug 2014 - the fucking season wasn't even done. S1 was from 26th July to 31st Aug 2014 and DD's first match of the season was the same day, yet there was already a name change. And in media/reports on S1 they're called Dabang Delhi, not Delhi Dynamos. I haven't found mention anywhere of the small discrepancy where all of the S1 advertisements [the ones I can find all published 17th-18th July 2014] show Delhi Dynamos, but in less than a month they're called Dabang Delhi on everything.
A Review of Kabaddi Websites
I took a final look through different official sites to see if there was anything on 'Delhi Dynamos', turns out there's barely anything in the first place so it ended up being more of a Kabaddi website review. Looked through:
the PKL website [link] - only 10 articles and one's incorrectly listed under the S1 search filter and is about S10 instead - any mentions of the team in these just list Dabang Delhi as the name.
the IKF website [link] - there's no search function and there's barely any info in the first place, the gallery is just a handful of random clipped images.
the WKF website [link] - in the longass plain text records in the News section there's only a mention of an associate membership for National Style Kabaddi being approved for 2015 at the earliest, which is the closest reference I can think of to early PKL?
the AKFI website [link] - cluttered and unsorted af but says it last updated this month still, so? Only found mentions of PKL S2 in articles under the News section - which don't seem to always be posted by the site admins and had one-liners or blocks of repeated text - and I can only ever see 25 articles bc the filter doesn't seem to work.
the AKF website [link] - nothing on PKL farther back or in general than 2017 and the entire site only has the same handful of articles from 2017, the only update being one article from 2024 - heck, Lorem Ipsum shows in several places and Overview is spelled wrong in the section's subheading.
the KhelNow website [link] - fucking terrible search function powered by Google - can't get any relevant results no matter what keywords or search functions I put in and only 3 results for 'delhi dynamos kabaddi' two of which are just the keywords extracted from the sitemap, plus I'm not going to continually click 'load more' on articles just to find something from 11 years ago so if there is a mention then site admins @ me atp.
As a final research measure I toggled open search results for the whole year of 2014 for articles on DD [keywords searched: dabang delhi, delhi dynamos kabaddi] just to be sure there really wasn't anything I could be fucking missing here, and-
There Is One Mention.
In what seems to be a blog post titled 'Pro Kabaddi league 2014 schedules fixtures online ticket booking and live telecast on TV channels' [link] by user 'Ramprasad' [a gold member it appears?], of what seems to be an educational learning site called India Study Channel, there is a brief rundown with a couple mispellings of where to watch/stream/buy tickets. But most importantly: every match listing in the schedule given states Delhi Dynamos playing. This was posted on 24th July 2014, only a week after the logo is first seen in the S1 ads and just two days before the league began airing.
Whether the name was taken from an official streaming site, one of the listed ticket booking websites, or from the advertisements themselves - idfk. But there is at least one article in existence that implies that, however brief, the name was genuinely relevant to the league and its audience for a period of time [there is a comment on the post from 1 Aug the same year].
Brief infuckingdeed, however, because in any articles I found after this date there was no mention, and they are listed as Dabang Delhi. Examples of this shit being:
31st July 2014 at the earliest, with 'Dabang Delhi owner Radha Kapoor on her plans for Pro-Kabaddi League players' The Economic Times [link] - which is just one week after that blog post; unclear what the hell happened in a week but Delhi Dynamos seems to have been discontinued or somehow irrelevant by the time this article was published.
3rd Aug 2014 'Pro Kabaddi League Live Streaming Information: Watch Dabang Delhi vs Telugu Titans Online' IB Times [link]
4th Aug 2014 'Dabang Delhi wins hearts, loses yet another duel' PKL site [link] - I will also point out I found this shit through open search so clearly there are still more articles falling through the filter cracks on this website.
I did find some alternate references however, though it's unclear how fucking relevant they ultimately are/were:
2nd Aug 'Delhi Dabang gears up to take home advantage' - ZEENEWS [link] - it seems like this was mere reverse wordplay on the team name in reference to the city, but it did bring into brief question whether that particular phrasing was actually relevant in the league or team branding at one point.
Says it was modified on 11th Aug 'Pro-Kabaddi League 2014' Essentially Sports [link] - throughout this article it has been spelt as Dabangg Delhi, but it's unclear if this was any kind of official spelling or simply the poster's misspelling of the team name.
In conclusion
'Delhi Dynamos' only seems to appear a literal handful of times on the internet; at the end of S1 advertisements published 17th-18th July 2014 on YouTube, and in a single online blogpost by what seems to be a random fan on 24th July 2014, all of which are before the inaugural season of PKL. A week later it's never seen in articles, ads or league videos since.
Whether this was a marketing mistake, an initial name consideration for Dabang Delhi, some kind of placeholder, or a genuine official name release that was changed before the first season of this league and these are the only remnants, idfk and it looks like I might not ever will [unless I take some fucking drastic route and actually email/call the listed addresses/numbers on these sites or flood their comment sections just for details].
If literally anyone has more info on this, talk to me.
Fuck knows I may have missed something. I'll fix up and edit this shit for clear pics as much as I can but fucking hell lmao. Random detail about DD that looks like a fucking mini-mystery.
[*yes that's a Chak De India reference.]

💥Is the content generated by Smart AI Content Creator SEO-friendly?
These proprietary prompts include instructions for the AI to behave as a professional SEO expert when crafting blog posts or articles, so they come out with the best SEO practices applied.
💥Does the Smart AI Content Creator work with any WordPress theme or builder?
Since it's a plugin, its pages appear within the WP-Admin area, which isn't affected by a theme. If you are using Smart AI Content Creator to publish content on the blog itself, then of course it makes a difference which theme you are using
but that has no effect on the content that you've created with Smart AI Content Creator a different theme is just a different view of the same data, namely, the same blog posts. I will be providing training on how to maximize the beauty of your content with the best themes.
💥How many websites can I install Smart AI Content Creator on?
The base plugin comes with 3 installs; however, it is very easy to transfer your license to another website.
💥Is there a way to get more website installs?
We have an upgrade to 25 blogs, and if you join my membership, you can have unlimited installs. I suggest you try the plugin out first and then make your decision.
💥Does Smart AI Content Creator require any API keys or external programs, and if so, is it expensive?
Smart AI Content Creator utilizes APIs from three different providers: OpenAI, Deep AI, and Riku/Standard Diffusion. I will offer you an opportunity to upgrade your plugin so that you don't have to have any API keys.
But if you decide not to upgrade, then you will require an API key for OpenAI, for Deep AI, and for Riku/Standard Diffusion. Let me eliminate any worries about the cost of the API accounts; they are very cheap! I would not worry about it at all. It's just pennies.

Hey @catgirlcrisis sorry for answering you like this, but this is a side blog so I can’t comment back lol. Also, sorry if the rest of this post sounds like I’m angry. It’s not my intention, but I don’t really know how to make my words less hostile sounding (I have too many thoughts and not enough brain power rn lol). Just keep in mind that I’m not upset or anything. I just type too much and I’m sleepy
I’m allowed to complain on my blog and not point out any author or fandom in particular. I’m allowed to find improper tagging, not only annoying, but also actively harmful in certain cases. It goes against ao3’s policy lol and it’s so much harder for both myself and others to actually find fics :/ that’s the main point of the original post
And I’m NOT reading the fics that are tagged as such. I DO just scroll past them. But this is my blog, and I’m allowed to express my opinions here. It’s tumblr and I can write whatever dumb things I want to. Ao3 tags are not the place to be expressing one’s opinions through back-handed comments. It’s for letting the reader know what the fic contains. Tags are not the place to express one’s personal morality in fiction. There’s other places and sites for that. Tags on other sites don’t work like tags on tumblr, which is it’s own ball park lol /lh. Tags on ao3 are like keywords to find/exclude searches rather than the silly comments you can leave here on tumblr. When people don’t use them that way, it makes finding/excluding fics impossible. Using tags to describe the fic itself is what tags are for. Even if it’s not an official tag on the site. That’s why you can make your own tags in the first place. It’s not for “I hate this trope that’s not relevant to this fic because that’s not how I wrote my fic”. If it’s not in the fic, don’t even bring it up in the tags. That’s how I and many other see it.
If someone is squicked or triggered by certain tropes in fics, that’s valid. People are allowed to have their own opinions and express them freely imo. Even if it’s just not their cup-of-tea!Ao3 tags just aren’t the place though lol
Ao3 authors, please learn to not insult people and be “morally superior” in the tags
Instead of tagging “noncon is gross” or “not noncon because that’s problematic”, for example, just put “enthusiastic consent” or “consensual sex” in the tags. It makes things a whole lot easier for people to filter and know what’s going on.
I really don’t care that you think noncon fics are bad or whatever, I (and many others) will be more likely to read your fic about two boys who are deeply in love if you aren’t an ass about your morals in fiction :/

Effective Ways to Drive Website Traffic
Tumblr media
Optimize Your Website for Search Engines
Getting your website to the top of search engine results is a game-changer. Start by analyzing your site data and conducting keyword research. This foundational step sets the stage for optimizing both on-page and off-page SEO elements. Remember, a knowledge of basic SEO can have a noticeable impact.
Keyword optimization is crucial, but it’s just the beginning. You’ll want to collect quality backlinks and ensure your site architecture facilitates clear navigation. Here’s a quick checklist to keep you on track:
Include video content to engage users
Produce relevant and trendy content
Work on improving site architecture
Create clear and intuitive navigation
Boosting your page speed is also vital. Google even tags results that use Accelerated Mobile Page (AMP) hosting, so consider this in your strategy.
Finally, always aim for a mobile-friendly design. With the majority of web searches now performed on mobile devices, it’s essential for your website to be compatible with all screen sizes.
Utilize Guest Blogging
Guest blogging is a fantastic way to spread your wings beyond your own website. Reach out to fellow bloggers or influencers in your niche and offer to write a post for their site. This not only gets your name out there but also drives traffic back to your site through backlinks. Here’s how to nail it:
Identify your target audience and find blogs that they frequent.
Craft a personalized pitch that showcases your expertise and how it can benefit their readership.
Write valuable content that resonates with the audience and includes relevant keywords.

Be prepared to answer any questions and provide a smooth collaboration experience.
Remember, the key is to create a win-win situation where both you and the host blog benefit from the exchange.
It’s not just about getting your content out there; it’s about building relationships. Be active in communities and attend events related to your site’s niche. This will help you expand your network and find more opportunities for guest blogging. And when you do land a guest post, make sure it’s well-written and informative — quality is crucial!
Create Quality Content
Let’s get real, folks — content is king. But not just any content; we’re talking about the kind that hooks your readers from the get-go. It’s all about delivering value, answering those burning questions, and solving problems. Imagine stepping into your audience’s shoes — what would you want to read? That’s the golden ticket.
Remember, it’s not about padding your word count with fluff. Quality trumps quantity every time.
Here’s a quick rundown on making your content shine:
Answer the Big Questions: Get straight to the point and address the issues your audience cares about.
Break It Up: Nobody likes a text monolith. Use images, videos, and headings to keep things interesting.
Polish to Perfection: Tools like Grammarly are your best friends for error-free writing.
Creating top-notch content might seem like a Herculean task, but it’s a game-changer for driving traffic. It’s the kind of stuff that gets shared, linked to, and talked about. So roll up your sleeves and start crafting — your website will thank you for it.
Engage on Social Media
Hey there, web wizards! Want to see your website traffic skyrocket? Dive into the social media pool! It’s not just about posting willy-nilly; it’s about crafting a strategy that resonates with your audience. Engage, engage, engage
Host giveaways and contests: Who doesn’t love free stuff? Hosting giveaways and contests is a surefire way to get people buzzing about your site.
Interact with your peeps: Reply to comments, like posts, and show your followers some love. This builds a loyal community that’ll champion your content.
Visuals are your best friend: A picture is worth a thousand clicks. Make sure your posts pop with eye-catching images.
Hashtag it up: Use relevant hashtags to help your content get found by the right eyeballs.
Remember, it’s not just about the numbers; it’s about building relationships. When you connect with your audience on a personal level, they’re more likely to visit your site and stick around for the long haul.
Pick the platform that vibes with your crowd. Instagram’s great for the youngsters, while Facebook’s got the adulting crowd covered. And don’t forget to sprinkle in some influencer magic by tagging industry bigwigs when it makes sense. Just don’t overdo it — nobody likes a try-hard.
Improve Website PerformanceTraffic
Tumblr media
Ever wondered if poor performance is costing you visitors? It’s time to crunch the numbers and see what’s at stake. A snappy website not only keeps your audience hooked but also plays a big role in search engine rankings. Here’s a quick rundown on how to give your site the speed boost it deserves:
Step #1: Test your current website speed to establish a baseline.
Also read :How can I increase the traffic on my website?
Step #2: Install a caching plugin to reduce load times.
Step #3: Optimize your images to prevent unnecessary lag.
Step #4: Implement LazyLoad for images and videos to save bandwidth.
Step #5: Set up CloudFlare or another Content Delivery Network (CDN) to distribute the load.
Step #6: Test your site again to measure improvements.
Remember, a faster site improves user experience and can lead to better engagement and conversions.
Don’t let a sluggish site be the bottleneck of your success. By following these steps, you can ensure that every effort to drive traffic to your website pays off in the long run.
Explore Paid Advertising
Diving into the world of paid advertising can be a game-changer for your website traffic. Pay-Per-Click (PPC), for instance, is a popular strategy where you only shell out cash when someone clicks on your ad. It’s like a digital high-five that costs you a little, but the potential returns? Huge!
Platforms like Google AdWords and Bing Ads are the go-to for search engine marketing, where you bid on keywords to make your site the belle of the search ball. But don’t forget about social ads! With everyone and their grandma scrolling through social media, platforms like Facebook offer a goldmine for targeted advertising.
Here’s a pro tip: Tailor your campaigns to your audience and budget. It’s not just about splashing the cash; it’s about smart spending for the best return on investment.
Ready to get started? Here’s a quick checklist to kick off your paid advertising journey:
Define your target audience
Choose the right platforms (Google, Bing, Facebook, etc.)
Set a budget and bid strategically
Create compelling ad copy
Monitor and adjust your campaigns for optimization
Utilize Affiliate Programs
Affiliate programs can be a game-changer for your website traffic. Create a dedicated landing page for your affiliate program to make it easy for potential partners to find you and sign up. This page should clearly explain the benefits and include a call-to-action to join your network.
Offer competitive yet reasonable commission rates to attract and retain affiliates. If you’re a small business, consider offering free products instead of cash as compensation.

Here’s a quick rundown of best practices:
Establish clear terms and conditions to avoid misunderstandings.
Incentivize your affiliates with bonuses or higher commissions for hitting sales targets.
Keep in touch with a regular newsletter, updating them on new products and success stories.
Remember, the key is to collaborate with individuals who resonate with your target audience. If you’re in the IT space, reach out to influential tech bloggers for a partnership that benefits both parties. By leveraging their credibility, you can drive more traffic to your site while providing value to your affiliates.
Build External Link ‘s
Tumblr media
Building external links is like networking for your website — it’s all about making connections that count. External backlinks are like digital high-fives from other websites, signaling to search engines that your content is valuable. But remember, it’s not just about quantity; the quality of the backlinks matters too.
To get started, here’s a simple list to guide you:
Identify authoritative sites in your niche.
Create engaging content they would want to link to.
Reach out and build relationships with website owners.
Offer value through guest posts or resourceful insights.
Remember, earning backlinks is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes time and effort to build a network of quality links, but the payoff in traffic and credibility is well worth it.
Speed up Your Site
Nobody likes to wait, especially online. If your website takes too long to load, visitors might just bounce off to a competitor. Speed is a crucial factor in not only keeping your visitors happy but also in improving your site’s SEO ranking. Start by testing your current website speed to identify what needs improvement.
Here’s a quick checklist to help you get started:
Test your site with speed test tools
Minify your site’s files using plugins like Autoptimize
Optimize your images before uploading
Enable browser caching to reduce load times for repeat visitors
Consider using a content delivery network (CDN) to improve access speed globally
Also read :How can I increase the traffic on my website?
Remember, a faster site can lead to better user engagement, higher SEO rankings, and ultimately, more traffic.
After making these changes, don’t forget to test your site again. It’s important to measure the impact of your optimizations and keep looking for ways to improve. With tools like WPRocket and ShortPixel, you can further enhance your site’s performance. And if all else fails, it might be time to look at your hosting solution.
Collaborate with Influencers
In the digital age, leveraging the power of influencers can be a game-changer for driving traffic to your website. Identify influencers who resonate with your target audience and are authorities in your niche. For example, if your audience is Instagram-savvy, teaming up with an Instagram influencer can yield better results than other platforms.
Collaborating with influencers should be a strategic partnership. It’s crucial to choose someone who not only has a significant following but also enjoys a positive reputation and creates content that aligns with your brand values. Here’s a simple guide to get you started:
Identify the right platform for your audience.
Select influencers with a strong presence and credibility in your niche.
Establish clear but flexible collaboration guidelines.
Allow creative freedom to ensure authentic promotion.
Remember, influencers have a unique understanding of their audience. By giving them the creative space to promote your brand, you tap into their ability to engage and persuade their followers effectively.
By following these steps and maintaining open communication, you can create a mutually beneficial relationship that not only increases your website traffic but also enhances your brand’s visibility and credibility.
Conclusion
In conclusion, increasing traffic to your website is a goal that is definitely achievable with the right strategies and dedication. By implementing a combination of organic methods like SEO optimization and quality content creation, along with paid strategies such as social media advertising and affiliate programs, you can attract more visitors to your site. Remember, it’s important to continuously analyze and adapt your approach to find what works best for your specific audience and budget. Good luck on your journey to boosting your website traffic!

(Continued...) We're not on Tumblr to look at random posts a program thinks might make us spend more time looking at posts, long enough to even stumble across and interact with a sponsored post or something put up by a brand. We're on Tumblr to share interests with like-minded PEOPLE and to - yes - CURATE our experience. If I want to look at '57 Chevys and not look at '57 Fords, then I want to be able to goddamn tweak my settings to do that, and not have a program go, "You like old cars? Here's an Oldsmobile! You like '50s? How about this post about Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight"?" Those things are all perfectly fine in their own right, hell, sometimes even awesome, but leave it to us to DECIDE TO LOOK FOR IT. Having to curate our own experience, to be thoughtful, to learn how tags and reblogs work, to create communities through shared tags or to learn ways to filter our experience through keywords the community decides mean one thing and exclude another are intentional. You need INTENTIONAL users to keep a site growing and thriving; zombies scrolling a feed will send you right down the same enshittification spiral everyone else has gone down. And for gods' sakes, if you're that worried about losing money because a payment processor or advertiser drops you because of porn on the main, talk to any of the existing porn services out there, or even just creep their services to find out how they work! Yeah, overhead tends to be higher, and options are more limited, but it gives you a place to start. Then, at the same time, start pushing for changes to legislation to remove FOSTA-SESTA and restrengthen Section 230 protections. Engage with sex workers and their affiliated groups to learn how to actually prevent abuse and protect users on your site. Make it clear that you're about free speech and with that also comes the hard work of responsibility on all parties - which, again, means also CURATING our own experiences, so we can use filters and tags to not see adult content or not use those things if we do want to see it or don't care if we see it. No more platforms and websites engineered to manipulate people through machine-driven practices and content. I've already left all of the others except Mastodon and I never signed up for Threads because one hour of research told me I don't want to go anywhere near it. This particular Tumblr account I'm using is relatively new, but I've had experience with Tumblr from nearly the beginning. I left when "adult content restrictions" (the porn ban) were put in place, because that not only directly impacted me as an artist who sometimes draws tits, but because it also impacted me as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it impacted friends I have in the sex work community, and it was - in general - a gross insult to the community at large. I came back - reluctantly, at first - when I left Twitter months ago because I was running out of places to land and still interact with fellow artists. I've been grudgingly tolerating the incoherent stance on adult content here and new additions that push people to spend money and act like influencers. I absolutely won't tolerate the focus shifting entirely to removing a thoughtful user experience and replacing it with algorithm-driven "growth" drives.
Tumblr’s Core Product Strategy
Here at Tumblr, we’ve been working hard on reorganizing how we work in a bid to gain more users. A larger user base means a more sustainable company, and means we get to stick around and do this thing with you all a bit longer. What follows is the strategy we're using to accomplish the goal of user growth. The @labs group has published a bit already, but this is bigger. We’re publishing it publicly for the first time, in an effort to work more transparently with all of you in the Tumblr community. This strategy provides guidance amid limited resources, allowing our teams to focus on specific key areas to ensure Tumblr’s future.
The Diagnosis
In order for Tumblr to grow, we need to fix the core experience that makes Tumblr a useful place for users. The underlying problem is that Tumblr is not easy to use. Historically, we have expected users to curate their feeds and lean into curating their experience. But this expectation introduces friction to the user experience and only serves a small portion of our audience.
Tumblr’s competitive advantage lies in its unique content and vibrant communities. As the forerunner of internet culture, Tumblr encompasses a wide range of interests, such as entertainment, art, gaming, fandom, fashion, and music. People come to Tumblr to immerse themselves in this culture, making it essential for us to ensure a seamless connection between people and content.
To guarantee Tumblr’s continued success, we’ve got to prioritize fostering that seamless connection between people and content. This involves attracting and retaining new users and creators, nurturing their growth, and encouraging frequent engagement with the platform.
Our Guiding Principles
To enhance Tumblr’s usability, we must address these core guiding principles.
Expand the ways new users can discover and sign up for Tumblr.
Provide high-quality content with every app launch.
Facilitate easier user participation in conversations.
Retain and grow our creator base.
Create patterns that encourage users to keep returning to Tumblr.
Improve the platform’s performance, stability, and quality.
Below is a deep dive into each of these principles.
Principle 1: Expand the ways new users can discover and sign up for Tumblr.
Tumblr has a “top of the funnel” issue in converting non-users into engaged logged-in users. We also have not invested in industry standard SEO practices to ensure a robust top of the funnel. The referral traffic that we do get from external sources is dispersed across different pages with inconsistent user experiences, which results in a missed opportunity to convert these users into regular Tumblr users. For example, users from search engines often land on pages within the blog network and blog view—where there isn’t much of a reason to sign up.
We need to experiment with logged-out tumblr.com to ensure we are capturing the highest potential conversion rate for visitors into sign-ups and log-ins. We might want to explore showing the potential future user the full breadth of content that Tumblr has to offer on our logged-out pages. We want people to be able to easily understand the potential behind Tumblr without having to navigate multiple tabs and pages to figure it out. Our current logged-out explore page does very little to help users understand “what is Tumblr.” which is a missed opportunity to get people excited about joining the site.
Actions & Next Steps
Improving Tumblr’s search engine optimization (SEO) practices to be in line with industry standards.
Experiment with logged out tumblr.com to achieve the highest conversion rate for sign-ups and log-ins, explore ways for visitors to “get” Tumblr and entice them to sign up.
Principle 2: Provide high-quality content with every app launch.
We need to ensure the highest quality user experience by presenting fresh and relevant content tailored to the user’s diverse interests during each session. If the user has a bad content experience, the fault lies with the product.
The default position should always be that the user does not know how to navigate the application. Additionally, we need to ensure that when people search for content related to their interests, it is easily accessible without any confusing limitations or unexpected roadblocks in their journey.
Being a 15-year-old brand is tough because the brand carries the baggage of a person’s preconceived impressions of Tumblr. On average, a user only sees 25 posts per session, so the first 25 posts have to convey the value of Tumblr: it is a vibrant community with lots of untapped potential. We never want to leave the user believing that Tumblr is a place that is stale and not relevant.
Actions & Next Steps
Deliver great content each time the app is opened.
Make it easier for users to understand where the vibrant communities on Tumblr are.
Improve our algorithmic ranking capabilities across all feeds.
Principle 3: Facilitate easier user participation in conversations.
Part of Tumblr’s charm lies in its capacity to showcase the evolution of conversations and the clever remarks found within reblog chains and replies. Engaging in these discussions should be enjoyable and effortless.
Unfortunately, the current way that conversations work on Tumblr across replies and reblogs is confusing for new users. The limitations around engaging with individual reblogs, replies only applying to the original post, and the inability to easily follow threaded conversations make it difficult for users to join the conversation.
Actions & Next Steps
Address the confusion within replies and reblogs.
Improve the conversational posting features around replies and reblogs.
Allow engagements on individual replies and reblogs.
Make it easier for users to follow the various conversation paths within a reblog thread.
Remove clutter in the conversation by collapsing reblog threads.
Explore the feasibility of removing duplicate reblogs within a user’s Following feed.
Principle 4: Retain and grow our creator base.
Creators are essential to the Tumblr community. However, we haven’t always had a consistent and coordinated effort around retaining, nurturing, and growing our creator base.
Being a new creator on Tumblr can be intimidating, with a high likelihood of leaving or disappointment upon sharing creations without receiving engagement or feedback. We need to ensure that we have the expected creator tools and foster the rewarding feedback loops that keep creators around and enable them to thrive.
The lack of feedback stems from the outdated decision to only show content from followed blogs on the main dashboard feed (“Following”), perpetuating a cycle where popular blogs continue to gain more visibility at the expense of helping new creators. To address this, we need to prioritize supporting and nurturing the growth of new creators on the platform.
It is also imperative that creators, like everyone on Tumblr, feel safe and in control of their experience. Whether it be an ask from the community or engagement on a post, being successful on Tumblr should never feel like a punishing experience.
Actions & Next Steps
Get creators’ new content in front of people who are interested in it.
Improve the feedback loop for creators, incentivizing them to continue posting.
Build mechanisms to protect creators from being spammed by notifications when they go viral.
Expand ways to co-create content, such as by adding the capability to embed Tumblr links in posts.
Principle 5: Create patterns that encourage users to keep returning to Tumblr.
Push notifications and emails are essential tools to increase user engagement, improve user retention, and facilitate content discovery. Our strategy of reaching out to you, the user, should be well-coordinated across product, commercial, and marketing teams.
Our messaging strategy needs to be personalized and adapt to a user’s shifting interests. Our messages should keep users in the know on the latest activity in their community, as well as keeping Tumblr top of mind as the place to go for witty takes and remixes of the latest shows and real-life events.
Most importantly, our messages should be thoughtful and should never come across as spammy.
Actions & Next Steps
Conduct an audit of our messaging strategy.
Address the issue of notifications getting too noisy; throttle, collapse or mute notifications where necessary.
Identify opportunities for personalization within our email messages.
Test what the right daily push notification limit is.
Send emails when a user has push notifications switched off.
Principle 6: Performance, stability and quality.
The stability and performance of our mobile apps have declined. There is a large backlog of production issues, with more bugs created than resolved over the last 300 days. If this continues, roughly one new unresolved production issue will be created every two days. Apps and backend systems that work well and don't crash are the foundation of a great Tumblr experience. Improving performance, stability, and quality will help us achieve sustainable operations for Tumblr.
Improve performance and stability: deliver crash-free, responsive, and fast-loading apps on Android, iOS, and web.
Improve quality: deliver the highest quality Tumblr experience to our users.
Move faster: provide APIs and services to unblock core product initiatives and launch new features coming out of Labs.
Conclusion
Our mission has always been to empower the world’s creators. We are wholly committed to ensuring Tumblr evolves in a way that supports our current users while improving areas that attract new creators, artists, and users. You deserve a digital home that works for you. You deserve the best tools and features to connect with your communities on a platform that prioritizes the easy discoverability of high-quality content. This is an invigorating time for Tumblr, and we couldn’t be more excited about our current strategy.
