After watching SAGE's 2024 trailer, you ever get the feeling that most people want to be making indie games instead of fan games nowadays,? Every year there's been less and less fan works there.
youtube
This is the first year I've really felt it in any meaningful way.
There have been attempts for more than a decade to rename SAGE to drop the "Sonic" part. I've always pushed back against that and at this point the branding is too strong to give up, I think. People know about and come to SAGE because the brand is strong. Renaming it would be a death sentence.
Taking off my business hat, it's a bummer to see fangames in the minority here. Everybody wants to hop on that indie game gravy train and chase the success of Pizza Tower (seriously, count how many Pizza Tower clones are in the trailer this year) or Freedom Planet or Spark the Electric Jester or whatever.
And it's easy to congratulate people for striking out on their own and making original games. I was one of the many voices urging Sabrina to divorce Freedom Planet from the Sonic franchise and make it into an original game she could sell. So she ran a crowdfunding campaign (multiple, actually), was successful, and now we have two Freedom Planet games. And that's great!
But... does that mean all fangames should go away forever?
The example I lean on the hardest is comic books.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lot of the guys who created the biggest super heroes aren't around anymore. They gave up control long ago or are straight up dead now. These books are effectively officialized fanfiction now, as are the $300,000,000 movies based on them. An ever-increasing number of people writing, drawing and directing these characters today were not alive when they were originally created.
But people still keep writing Batman stories, officially or otherwise. Because there are some stories you can only tell with Batman. Now, you could break off and make your own character that's similar to Batman, build up this history for him, and then finally tell your original story with that character. And maybe that's satisfying, to have built something of your own like that.
But for one: that's a lot of work. Batman is interesting because he has decades (almost a century now) of history behind him to play off of and work with. There are people out there who will tell you to just start writing your dream story and forget about building up to it first, but that's more about motivation and confidence than the idea that stories don't need historical context.
And two: that's already been done.
Tumblr media
There's a good chance you know who Rob Liefeld is from his, uh, "distinctive" art style. He also created Deadpool, a katana-wielding mercenary assassin that dresses in red and black, whose real name is Wade Wilson. But before Deadpool, he created Deathstroke, a katana-wielding mercenary assassin that dresses in orange and black, whose real name is Slade Wilson.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is a guy who has built a career on copying his own work (and the work of others) over and over and over again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Did it make Rob Liefeld rich and famous? Technically yes, but he kind of got rich because other people made better work using his characters, and he's famous for being kind of a hack.
So which is better?
Creative output you can do right here, right now, today, but is considered "fanfiction" or "fanart" or a "fangame", which may or may not lead to you being the person handling the official thing at some point down the road...
Or spending years of your life toiling to bring an original concept to life, and even if you struggle through all of the boredom and hardship of getting your original product out the door, it gets lost in the noise of now-million other creators trying to do the exact same thing. And then, at the end of your launch, after 2, 3, even 5 years of working and working and working, you've only made enough money to cover rent on your apartment for a month and a half.
Or, to put it another way:
Are you ditching fangame development because you have a legitimately great story you want to tell, or are you just doing it because you can't make money on a fangame?
Are you just creating another Bloodstrike?
As someone who has struggled to justify putting lots of hard work into a fangame myself, and have both made very popular fangames and some not-so-great original games, I don't know if I have a definitive answer for you. But I do wish there were more fangames at the fangaming event, and I will say, as always, if I could get paid a livable wage for making fangames, I would drop everything and do it in a heartbeat.

Contestants submissions currently open!
Some rules and clarifications!
So, i think the criteria for this tournament needs to be shared, since its not only the classic bad end friends but we also got wayyy more characters here and i would like include your suggestions for the next year's poll.
Rules and basic criteria to count a character as a BEF
I decided to separate this characters in categories so its easier to explain:
"Main/secondary character is now evil!!!"
I think we all get this one. Certain characters end up on the other side of the battle, by choice or maybe bc he didn't have one!! Betraying their morals and everyone else. They maybe became crazy and/or are being mind controlled/ possessed
Now, this has its own subcategories to take account:
"Oh no! I got possesed or mind controlled!"
Very self-explanatory, character that is now controlled by the villain/antagonist.
"Multiversal typa shit"
CANONICAL AUs where the character has turned up evil/in an antagonistic role, by any reason
"TRAITOR!!!!"
When a character changes sides by "choice," they might still be themselves but felt betrayed/are being manipulated/they simply decided to betray the rest for their own benefit.
"Hell nah, they went feral"
Character that got turned into a monster/some kind of creature
"Evil alter ego takes control"
A second personality fully controls the character now.
"Ain't evil, just a failure"
As the tittle "bad end" suggests, we also include characters that ended up meeting a depressing fate without necessarily becoming evil
This one has some restrictions obviously:
The character needs some sort of appearance change
Something REALLY REALLY BAD has happened to them, a significant defeat.
DOPPLEGANGERS
To make it short, a character that is a replica/clone of the mc and their goal must be replaced/ defeat the original one. Its not necessarily required for them to be explicitly "evil," but if they wanna replace the og, they sure do count.
Tumblr media
FANON BAD ENDINGS
There are lots of fanon bad endings on this AU, but the general rule is that it has to have some sort of logic on the character's original lore, or at least be based on a fate that is kinda plausible to happen. So we don't end up accepting every single Sans AU that comes across, lol.
These characters can't come out of nowhere. It needs a valid justification to make em accountable. "Theres a chapter where the villain tells the hero to become evil aswell bc they're their father, so in the canon says no, but the BEF is that he says yes." See? It was plausible and justified.
(There sure might be some exeptions to this rule such as Wirt and Marco, but at least Wirt making a deal with the beast doesnt come out of nowhere, technically talking Tom did curse marco on the original series, i know that their whole deal is too stretched but they have been here since the beginning so who are we to kick em off.)
NOT ALLOWED:
Creepypastas: we tryin to stick with canon here, you know? Creepypastas often just turn characters evil and into demons just because, thats not what we are going for!
Role swap AUs: Those definitely are not even considered. Since they're way too far from the actual canon.
Completely non-canon/very unlikely situations: "but he can get possessed by the villain!!" So as every other character, if its extremely rare for it to happen, don't even bring it up.
Robots (in a doppleganger sense): yeah obviously this rule doesn't talk about robot/android characters like murderdrones or something, but it's about robotic clones with not really their own conciousness Just, machines.
Fanon media in general: stuff like comics, fangames, or any fanmade product of any existing media with a bad ending will not be counted. No, you can't submit your fnf mods. im sorry
ABSOLUTELY NO OCS: no original characters, im being REALLY CLEAR WITH THIS ONE. No, your shadow2 the hedgehog original character do not steal cannot be counted.
NO PIBBY GLITCH.
Tumblr media
Now that its all clear!
How do i submit a character?
Simple! You just have to send an ask with the character, their media, some of their backstory, and any detail you think is need to be mentioned!
So that would be it! Hope to see your submissions soon!
The submissions will end on april 1st 2025!

also gonna ramble a little about my crossover au I've been obsessing over for ages, since I'm working on some art for it right now...
I'm Doing It Scared though so under the cut it goes !
okay so. it's a crossover of omori, yume nikki, yume 2kki, and .flow! yay!! fucked up dreamers!!!
I'm really happy with it though because of the worldbuilding I've had to piece together using stuff from all the games, and I'd say how dream worlds work in this au is pretty neat...
anyway, since omori is the only game with a clear story, for the other 3 I just picked some themes from the games and theories I like that I thought would work well together, and I think I did a decent enough job to make Madotsuki's, Urotsuki's, and Sabitsuki's stories in this au pretty interesting!
okay now for a simple summary: it takes place after the good ending, a bit after Sunny's moved and settled in a little in his new house. Sunny could say he's doing better, but that leaves out the fact he's still struggling to reach out and open up. until one night he ends up on a balcony instead of white space.
after learning he's not the only dreamer out there, Sunny makes it his mission to find and help as many as he can! helping others like him counts as helping himself, right? (spoiler: wrong <3)
one last thing, I do eventually want to throw in more yume nikki fangames because I think it'd be even more fun. whole family of mentally ill dreamers yay <3

First Tumblr post of the year, and It's about me simping for a funny Cowboy Yeehaw mans
So as someone who's a casual fan of UT and DR, I've gotten wind of a new UT fangame that's an absolute MASTERPIECE! (have only played a bit into the beginning) ...but I've watched playthroughs, and I must say, there's a darn purdy, dare I say DASHING monster that has taken up my brain here lately! TwT Putting the rest of this under the cut, in case it counts as spoilers
SO THIS MAN RIGHT HERE
Tumblr media
HAS INVADED OVER 60% OF MY BRAIN... HE'S NOT PAYING RENT... I don't always simp for a yeehaw mans... BUT WHEN I DO HE'S HIGH QUALITY!!!
Tumblr media
Continuing on my not-spoiler free ramble, the things about this man consists of: Being a super cool Sheriff (even if it's just for LARPing type fun stuff lol) Being an adorable dweebus nerd Being a sweetheart type of farmer (I swear, I think that's one of my weaknesses.... Yeah, not me remembering my crushes on Milo from Pokemon and Bill Green from Big City Greens) What does make me lowkey sad/jelly is I think he still is sweet on his childhood crush Ceroba... (pretty fox lady with lit backstory and strong powers got way more up on me than I could ever have x'D) But hey! ...If the funny star sheriff cowboy falls in love with the lovely fox lady, then that's ok. Because I love the star mans, and I want him to thrive and be happy~ (in all seriousness though, I'm not going to demonize people who ship him with any of the canon characters or with their oc. Everyone has a right to ship or not ship as they please~ I am ALL FOR being mature and not starting petty crap such as "UwU Starlo is MYNE, HE'S MY HUSBAND, BOYFRIEND AND FIANCE, YOU CANNOT HAS HIM, OR I'LL SHOOT YOU DOWN WITH MY SIX SHOOTER FILLED WITH FLOWEY BULLETS!!!!11!?" He rightfully belongs to his creator, who I assume worked on the UT Yellow game...)
Gosh this ramble is cringe filled... but hey, I had fun and I needed to get my love for this man out of my system... I really wanna smooch the funny star mans (and hey.... if Ceroba doesn't want to date him then well... Hey Starlo, you can hold hands and smooch with me if you'd like~ ;3)
also if you haven't played Undertale Yellow, but you're a fan of Undertale or Deltarune, then by all means take some time and show this game some love! I believe it would be worth your time, seeing as they worked 7 whole years on the game if I'm not mistaken....

Making a playlist for my fangame/AU for you to try and analyze because i think it'd be v interesting to see! Also i will totally take you up on the offer to ramble about AU's if it's still available,,,
okay, let's see how close and/or far i get
starting with the songs i know:
Come Along by Cosmo Sheldrake. now i've never actually looked up the lyrics of this one (just been guessing at them which. i often mess up with), but according to the ~internet~ it's meant to be a sort of invitation away from real life's static-ness, to instead live with a bit of whimsy. one source also says it's also about "embracing the present and cherishing life's fleeting moments"
so, one possibility is that this is related to the au/fangame in an "escaping your real life and jumping into the whimsy that is this gravity falls game" sort of way. if we're counting the second bit, part of the story could be about refusing to let the game go? always coming back to it, never truly letting it end?
alternatively, the "cherishing life's fleeting moments" is about the show and "embracing the present" is about finding new joys in life. third possibility is that i'm overthinking this
A Sadness Runs Through Him by The Hoosiers. okay, i can connect this one to a few characters:
-the stan twins (or just one, lots of people just go with one)
-the player character (going hand-in-hand with the "not wanting to let the game end" thing)
-...bill cipher? (again, if you can't let the game die, you can't let any of it truly die, and that includes the antagonist. the lines 'asked me to pray to the god he doesn't believe in' and 'don't look at me with those eyes' work especially well for bill, with the former possibly being linked to the axolotl. considering that he called out for the axolotl to revive him and, in this scenario, he came back without its help. or maybe it's just. an actual god. who knows what bill believes)
Two Birds by Regina Spektor
-Mabel and Dipper or Stan and Ford work, of course. however-
-Bill and the player??? i'm sorry i caught this string and i'm refusing to let ago until i get to a song that proves me wrong
-adding third idea after reading back through this: one bird is the player, the other is representative of either the show or other people in the player's life. the player doesn't want to let go, and ends up in an unfortunate situation as a result, with the other "bird" leaving without them
Ruler of Everything by Tally Hall
I'm gonna say this one is also related to Bill Cipher, for a few reasons- one, the line "do you like how my face disintegrates into chalk?" well. it did kinda do that when stan punched him didn't it
second reason is because the whole back-and-forth section of the song could be between the player and bill. "i saw you slobber over clovers on the side of the hill, i was observing the birds, circle in for the kill" could be a reference to bill's death, with him becoming a stone statue in the woods. in the final episode, you see a bird land on his hand- hence, i was observing the birds. "circle in for the kill" could be the player, rightfully, not trusting him not to try mass murder again
there's also "i've been you, i know you, your facade is a scam" coming from the player. they've watched the show, they've probably interacted with discussions about it, fanart, fanfiction, possibly even made some of their own. they know bill as a character and, more importantly, they know he's not an honest one
(the rest of these are songs i had never listened to before now)
Tom's Diner by Suzanne Vega, DNA
i'll be honest i've got nothing for the lyrics. i suppose there's just too many ways i could interpret it- for example, applying the "player theory" to this one, the player could be the singer or the person outside the window. bill could be the dead person in the newspaper, or it could be someone unrelated. the singer could be one of the characters (leaning towards ford, considering he is the coffee guy) and the waiter is the player, or the person outside the window is still the player, or the person exchanging hellos is the player. you see what i mean?
Obstacles by Syd Matters
mmm not entirely sure about this one, but i think it could be from the perspective of the characters? the blizzard/changing weather is the world the player's trapped them in, the foreseeing obstacles is the player themselves, and the playing hide and seek in waterfalls represents the world before the game. the world as in the show (especially considering that the cave behind the waterfall is pretty important whenever it comes up)
Constellations by The Oh Hellos
ditto, but a little more optimistic (the mention of "good intentions", assuming that the player isn't refusing to let the game end out of maliciousness + "everything you thought you knew will fall apart, but you'll be alright" acknowledging that what's happening is terrible and it's not likely that life for the characters will not return to normal, but they will persist throughout it)
Willow Tree March by The Paper Kites
i lied i have heard this one i just never knew the name. bonus points for having one of my favorite songs in your playlist and therefore helping me rediscover it. anyway, continuing with our player theory, this one could be a more...guilty approach to it? guilty in that the lyrics ("with your lust and your greed weighing down" and "and you weaken your love and you hold it above your head" for example) seem to be more accusatory, and the repeated lyrics "we all still die" and "this tree, it will die (without leaves)" make me think the singer represents the characters, trying to get across the idea that it doesn't matter how hard the player holds on to the game, it'll inevitably die anyway
Just A Man from EPIC: The Musical
not entirely sure about this one either. possibly, the player realizing that not letting the game end is hurting the characters and reflecting on that?
Viva La Vida by Coldplay
this feels like more of a bill song than a player song
Conclusion!
alright, so my guess at this au is that it's sort of about a self-aware game? the player plays through the game, then plays it again and again and again and refuses to let it rest. overtime, this starts to wear down on the characters and causes things to go wrong, such as reviving bill cipher. at some point, the characters begin to directly plead with the player to let the game end and, possibly after some sort of tragedy or new route via bill that kills or otherwise harms the other characters, the player start to realize that it's their own actions that are causing the game to break down. what exactly happens after that? depends on the player
no idea how close i was, but! good playlist i thoroughly enjoyed going through it :]

Ehhmmm HI EVERYONE !!!! so this is very inspired by @kafus's Pokémon liveblogging n their various playthroughs and its been so fun to follow, and it gave me the inspiration to pick up a new playthrough - or TWO PLAYTHROUGHS !!!
i realized its been forever since ive actually played FireRed LeafGreen and that ive never done it w. the help of save editing to add eg. Rare Candies for grinding. but i also realized that ive never actually played the Gen 1 Pokémon games....so i decided to do both !!!!
im doing a kinda-sorta Nuzlocke too, just to try out different Pokémon and get myself to rotate between them, but I am also moreso trying to use funny stuff more than minmaxxing for strategy. Here's my Pokémon Red team for instance!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes that's Marcel the traded Mr. Mimel!! I got an Abra as my first encounter and realized that using Alakazam would just be steamrolling people with a big Special number, so I boxed it for later to use Gen 1 Mr. Mime for a while. I've rotated some of these members in and out with others in the box, mostly because the movepools are so fascinatingly terrible ^^; Like - I wanted to use Nidoking because his Gen 1 sprites are absolutely incredible, and you can get him before even the second gym from Mt. Moon's Moon Stones, but........he doesn't get Double Kick unless you get Nidorino to like Level 47?? and Nidoking misses out on Thrash unless you level him up early.
Clefable has been the absolute QUEEN of the run though, like !!! i love her silly sprite in this game so so so much, and the well-rounded stats paired with Sing make them a really good Pokémon to use in pretty much any situation. its funny how the lack of many good moves means that mediocre moves like Growl or Water Gun end up feeling useful just for being options at all...I've had some fun with the mediocre TMs given out too, like giving Bide to my Ivysaur to utilize the Leech Seed draining effect as best as possible in a sort of quirky strategy. Though on the flipside I had to give up on using Mankey entirely after realizing it just gets NOTHING in terms of moves - before Yellow it literally doesn't learn any Fighting type moves by leveling up other than Seismic Toss (which doesnt count), and the only one it gets by TM is Submission which is.....nooot good :T
Tumblr media
Anyhow - Here's a terrible img of my FRLG team! I'm out of Rock Tunnel and in Celadon in this playthrough wheras the RBY playthrough is still not through the tunnel yet :( BUT that means that I've gotten a lot more silly goobers in this run. Even though my Mankey died here before I could use it for anything funny.....i really like Primape's design so im kinda sad I've never gotten to use it lol
ANYWAY ANYWAY look at my fucking boy. look at my Fungler. look at my little man. he has 20 diseases and he sucks ass. i love him.
Tumblr media
i played a Gen 3 fangame a while ago that gave you access to Fury Cutter as a TM and a Paras really early on, and the gears got grinding in my head to force sleep with Spore and then chain a Fury Cutter combo, and the affection for that silly strat has stuck with me and made me kind of adore Parasect by extension. look at my fucking guy he sucks so much!!! but he puts people to sleep really well and has cool bug claws. i love his terrible movepool and having to give him Secret Power to do any damage. lol .
Tumblr media
it is funny to play these older games where the movepools sucked ass, even as deep in as Gen 3 . so you have to really stretch for ideas on how to use mons but it feels really fun when you make something sorta click? like this Doduo Rage -> Rest -> Chesto set, it doesn't get Swords Dance nor the infinitely funnier Acupressure but this is kinda just a shittier funnier version of that? also Tri Attack being physical feels like it was made just for Dodrio. i love my bird.
im still kinda miffed at how many things just sorta suck in Kanto though. like so many routes early on are just Rattata/Pidgey/Spearow/Ekans while the Safari Zone alone has like 7 Pokémon you can only find there, the distribution feels so strange. and of course the whole Game Corner garbage, i want to use Hyper Beam in Gen 1 because of how cool its Gen 1 exclusive quirks are but its a Game Corner exclusive reward >:((( im gonna have to see if i can save edit gambling coins into the game or what.
BUT im having a lot of fun !! its so silly seeing all the Gen 1 sprites ingame for the first time. the Gen 1iness of it all. not even being able to fuckin check how strong moves are or how much accuracy they have. or even sort the order of moves outside of battles. your battle items menu just opens up your entire bag. such a silly fuckin mess of a game. i love it .
(also feel free to ask about any of the nicknames i have answers for like half of them)

ALL TIED UP - ONESHOT
SUMMARY: Nagito helps Hajime discover that he has a bondage fetish. Takes place inside Hajime's cottage on Jabberwock Island after the conclusion of the first class trial in DR2: Goodbye Despair.
RATING: Explicit (for sexual themes / bondage)
PARING: HinaKoma / KomaHina
WORD COUNT: 3,000+
READ ON AO3: Here
A/N: This is my first HinaKoma/KomaHina fanfic so, I hope I did alright. I dedicate this story to the wonderful and talented yndr4hope because I absolutely adore their take on Hajime and Nagito's relationship! If you haven't played the DR fangames, I highly recommend you do!!
It was just passed sunset, a warm yellow fading into a sea of green before settling into a deep blue. Outside it was quiet, the white flicker of stars pinned across the darkening sky as the palm trees rustled from a small, fleeting breeze before becoming motionless again.
The shades to Hajime's cottage were drawn, the door was locked, but he still couldn't shake the fear that someone was watching, always watching.
Hajime closes his eyes and tries not to think of the cameras recording their every move, hopes that the pitch black darkness will mask who they are and what they are doing. He chooses to willfully ignore the sign post out front with his name on it and the telling story of his partner's clothes strewn across the floor. Anyone who bothers to examine the evidence would know their intentions exactly.
The sheets beneath his knees wrinkle as he drives his hips forward, the bed canopy swaying in time with his subtle thrusts. Never knowing who might walk by, Hajime keeps a discrete, steady tempo, affording them time to dress if there ever came a knock at the door, but this gentle pace he enforced upon himself slowly turns agonizing.
He wants to go faster, slam their hips together, grip the pale boy tighter until his porcelain skin bruised; and for a moment, Hajime allows himself the pleasure to do just that. The two boys gasp, the sensations becoming much more intense, but for some reason Hajime can only hear his own lewd sounds ring in his ears.
Even with something as trivial as this, it becomes dreadfully apparent that Nagito is holding in his voice much more than he should, wants his partner's cries of ecstasy to overshadow his own.
The spiky-haired boy looks down, about to fit his overly tame companion with an accusatory look, but when he does, he can't help admiring the ultimate lucky student spread out beneath him. His partner's body is almost ethereal, composed of milky white lines and sharp angles draped over the width of the disheveled bed. Wisps of wavy hair hang over his eyes, a blush coloring more places than just his face, his arms bound in an unconventional way within the sleeves of a button-down shirt.
Hajime knew this, having improvised a set of shackles for him to wear with the fabric of his school uniform. If anyone asks, he was simply keeping the troublesome albino in check, using what materials he had on hand to ensure his full cooperation and compliance. That's the excuse the spiky-haired boy was planning on using anyway.
Hajime internally curses everyone's idea to tie Nagito up in the first place. Considering his machinations in first trial, the brunette certainly understood why his friends locked him up, but it was because of Mahiru and the rest of the group that the image of Nagito chained down and helpless was permanently stuck inside his head. Hajime wasn't familiar with the term 'bondage' at the time, but Nagito was more than happy to supply him with the knowledge he craved.
In hindsight, it made sense why Nagito would be so eager to participate being the subservient type, but Hajime would have liked more time to mentally prepare before diving head-first into something so ... exotic.
They had barely touched upon the subject of Hajime's growing obsession with bondage when Nagito went on to talk about the connection between urges, attraction and kinks. Hajime grew so flustered just listening to his companion's lengthy explanations that he just couldn't stand it any longer.
"I had no idea seeing me all tied up had this big of an affect on you," he heard Nagito groan, breathless. There was a smugness to his voice, a revelry of delight in finding out something so scandalous about the spiky-haired brunette.
Hajime tugged on the makeshift collar around Nagito's neck, making it squeeze his delicate throat uncomfortably tight. The collar was made from Hajime's school necktie, another improvised tool that also functioned as a leash and worked comparatively well to the real thing.
Nagito shudders, grateful to be treated so roughly, wanting to be punished for speaking out of turn. It didn't seem like the albino learned his lesson though, because he speaks out again.
"Could it be, Hajime ... do you prefer ... seeing me in chains? Do you feel safer ... knowing I can't make a move against you?"
Hajime feels the flesh around his shaft tighten and he has to stop himself from crying out. His blunt nails dig a little deeper into the grooves of Nagito's jutting hips, hoping it would stop his arms from shaking.
"W-why should I answer that? It's not like ... you don't know."
He hears Nagito chuckle, clearly enjoying this.
"Forgive me. I only wanted to know what satisfies you. As atonement, I could bring real chains next time, duct tape, rope -"
"Oo-f course not!"
Hajime squeaked, his 'ahoge' twitching more and more as each item was listed off. Despite his current position on top, giving it to the other boy, the brunette felt like he was the one on the bottom being toyed with.
"You're right, that would be far too suspicious."
He sighed in relief. Good, at least Nagito agreed with him.
Hajime was grateful for the silence that creeps into the room after that. Finally, he could concentrate on perfecting his rhythm without getting distracted, but the reprieve didn't last long.
"You know ... this sort of thing ... can be dangerous," Nagito began, "As weak as I am, it would be easy for you to squeeze the life out me. If enough oxygen left my brain at a gradual enough rate, I might even go peacefully. I promise I won't struggle. Or maybe ... you would enjoy it more if i did?"
Nagito squirms, twisting himself so the necktie around his throat constricts him further, wanting his ultimate hope to tug on the restraints just a little harder and carry out his death. Hajime let the other talk, clenching his teeth as he listens to his partner's morbid thoughts, ultimately annoyed by that last comment.
"How many times do I have to tell you - that's not going to happen. As much as you believe it to be true, you're not trash I can throw away."
"How admirable... saying something like that to a person like me. But with my luck, it won't matter. One wrong move and we could end up be strangled together or crushed under the roof."
If Nagito was still able to prattle on about this sort of grotesque fantasy, Hajime clearly wasn't doing a good enough job. With a brutal thrust, the brunette pushes past taunt muscle, reaching all the way in to the hilt and holding it there.
Nagito chokes back a scream, convulsing from the pain before going rigid.
Hajime winces as well, feeling something hot and sticky pool around him and almost panics when he thought he smelled the coppery scent of blood.
"S-shit, I am s-sorry! I-I shouldn't have -" Hajime stutters, temporarily stunned by his own actions. He cups Nagito's cheek in apology, waiting for his friend's eyes to open, searching  his face for any signs of injury. He doesn't have to worry for very long, though. Judging from Nagito's expression, he was more than pleased by the sudden impulse of Hajime's technique.
"As expected, with a single thrust. You're truly amazing. Please use me to your hearts content," Nagito praises him lovingly.
Hajime feels his face burn up when those words reach his ears. The brunette thinks it's more accurate to describe Nagito's climax as a result of many thrusts in succession, rather than just a single, magnificent blow, but he kept the argument to himself. He still feels guilty about what he did, just not quite as much. The shorter boy turns his head away, not wanting to bear the weight of those gray, lust-filled eyes pleading with him.
 Please, break me completely.
"Typical, you just don't get it."
"Yes, how rude of me. It seems you still haven't --"
"No, that's not it."
Hajime's mind wonders, forming another outlandish thought. His lips are already parting, ready to speak the words before the logical side of his brain can convince him otherwise.
"How many times do you think you can cum before I do?"
Even Hajime can't believe his own mouth. The brunette is overcome with embarrassment, realization hitting him a little too late. He shared what was supposed to be a strictly private thought out loud and it was all Nagito's fault.
The taller boy's eyes widen from the admission as well, his own cheeks glowing bright red with embarrassment. He was witnessing a side of Hajime rarely seen and wondered what other repressed desires might exist inside the ultimate hope's personality, secretly dreams of a possible future where he could pry them to the surface.
"N-no, I am not worth the trouble."
Nagito tries to dismiss the subject, an automatic response drawn from his inferiority complex, but Hajime swallows his partner's next words with a kiss, hastily putting an end to any more disparaging talk. Unfortunately, he misjudged the distance between them and with more force than what he intended, smashed their lips together.
Knowing that it was too harsh to be considered anything romantic, Hajime eases back, softening his touch near the end of their kiss before pulling away.
"Shh," Hajime chastises, "Wasn't it you that said, 'please use me to you're hearts content,' just now?"
"Y-yes, b-but you see... t-that was-s..." He trails off, choosing to finish what he was going to say inside the safety of his head.
Now Hajime was getting somewhere. Nagito was fumbling, vulnerable, and it fueled Hajime's confidence. The green-eyed boy smirks. If he can distract Nagito from his self-depreciating tendencies, if only temporarily, by rendering him an incomprehensible mess, then he was going to do it.
"I know this is a little backwards, but please enjoy it."
Hajime withdrew himself from Nagito's slick heat, knowing he wasn't going to last long if he remained inside. Nagito mewls at the loss. He enjoys the sensation of being filled, but submits to the empty, hollow feeling with a forlorn look.
Hajime squeezes the base of the others boy's erection, licking the tip, tasting the essence he finds there, before taking him partially into his mouth. Nagito raises his voice just a little too loud when he calls out his partner's name.
"Ha-ah-h-hajime!"
It's a pitiful sound, one that's full of surprise, reprimand and adoration and Hajime feels like he's gained the upper hand. If Nagito thought he was joking before about giving him multiple orgasms, he was about to prove him wrong.
He takes more of Nagito's shaft into his mouth, trying to mimic the motions the other boy often performed on him. It's true that most of the time their roles were reversed, but Hajime hoped his limited experience was enough to return the favor, not that he could let apprehension get the best of him now.
Feeling bold, Hajime rubs a finger around Nagito's opening, slipping it inside to take a few experimental thrusts. He quickly adds a second finger, the cleft of skin there offering little resistance having been stretched with something bigger only a few moments ago.
Hajime curled his fingers, trying to find that special bundle of nerves. His efforts seem to pay off as Nagito twitched, becoming overly responsive to the smallest touch. Hajime could feel the heat of his own need collecting in his stomach, but he fought the urge to touch himself. Instead, he sucked his partner harder, mouth and tongue racing against his fingers to see which one could fuck Nagito faster.
"I don't know if I can-" the taller boy gasps, his chest heaving and desperate for air, trying in vain to hide his voice in the fabric wrapped around his wrists.
Bony hips jump off the mattress with the strength of his orgasm, unable to control his body as he releases into Hajime's mouth.
Hajime licks his lips, wiping the excess off with the back of his hand. He makes a check mark on his mental tally. That's two.
Wasting no time, the brunette reposition them. He flips Nagito over onto his stomach, albeit a little awkwardly. The ultimate lucky student feels unnaturally heavy in Hajime's arms as he slides back inside, Nagito shuddering as he accepts his full length.
"I-I knew you were cruel." Nagito teases, giggling to himself, barely holding it together.
Admittedly, Hajime was impatient. He was about to reach his peak several times, but was holding out for the sake of trying one more thing.
Lifting up his partner's backside, Hajime switches to sitting on his knees, pulling Nagito into his lap. He aims for that glorious spot between slim thighs with quick, deliberate thrusts. He wants to make Nagito see stars one more time, but Hajime can't wait, the pressure building inside his cock was unbearable.
The two collapse onto the bed, both of them spent.
Hajime closes his eyes and let's the weightless feeling run it's course throughout his body, numbing his limbs. When he opens his eyes again, the room was a collection of shadows, vague outlines, shapes of black, grey and purple.
Hajime turns to face Nagito, realizing in the dim light that his partner was still without the use of his hands thanks to the improvised shackles. Dazedly, Hajime untangles the fabric, throwing the rumpled garment off towards the side of the bed. He debates on whether or not he should remove the necktie too, but seeing how it wasn't posing a threat, merely dangling loosely, he left it right where it was. Besides, he liked the idea of Nagito wearing something of his.
Nagito whines as he tests his mobility, his arms feeling stiff and raw from being stuck in the same position for too long. Shakily, he put his free hands around Hajime's neck, kissing his face.
Hajime shifts closer, hands reaching out to pull the other boy's slim body flush against his. Their sensitive flesh brushes against each other and Nagito flinches, still sore and overstimulated.
"We should try this more often. Let's use a blindfold and a whip next time! The risk involved will surely double."
Hajime has no idea how his lover could still have this much stamina after everything they did tonight. He nips the skin closest to his teeth, a harmless punishment for Nagito's display of excess energy and horrible sense of humor. Hajime buries his nose in the crook of his partner's shoulder, inhaling his scent, feeling Nagito's laugh rumble against his cheek. Hajime's tongue darts out to lick the sheen of sweat collecting there, giving the same spot an apologetic kiss. He tastes salt and antiseptic.
"It's getting late. I should head back." Nagito says regretfully.
"No...," Hajime says, his hazel eyes narrowing dangerously, acting as if he might cry, "... not yet."
Hajime held Nagito in place almost possessively, not allowing the other boy to get up. The brunette told himself it was because he was warm and comfortable, but what he really wants is to protect Nagito from himself or anyone else who might cause him harm. Call it poor judgement, but he suddenly didn't care if they got caught and their relationship was exposed. He resolved to never let Nagito experience another tragedy alone.
Hajime growled in warning, sensing the taller boy was about to make another attempt to leave.
Nagito couldn't help laughing at something so childish. Hajime was acting as if someone was trying to steal his precious teddy bear away from him.
"It's OK," The ultimate lucky student reassured him, "See?"
Hajime loosened his grip, allowing Nagito to pull the bedsheet up over them.
Still laughing, Nagito leaned into his partner's chest, his damp skin now slightly cooled from the brief moment he was gone, causing him to shiver.
"As long as I can be of use to you, there may be a purpose for me after all."
Too exhausted to correct his partner's poor self-esteem, Hajime drifted off to sleep.
-----
At some point in the evening, Nagito did leave the cottage, evidenced by the cool and vacant spot beside him. Hajime felt a pang of loneliness in his chest, disappointed that he didn't wake up in time to wrestle the albino back into bed. The brunette's hand curled into a fist, batting it against the empty, unoccupied pillow.
Dammit.
It was still a couple hours before the Monokuma morning announcement and even though he probably needed the rest, he didn't feel like going back to sleep. Hajime turned over to lay on his side, arm propping up his head from beneath the pillow as he stared pointedly across the room.
'We should try this more often'
Nagito's words from last night rang inside his head.
 Fuck, not again.
As soon as he feels his cock react, he knows how he's going to spend the next 20 minutes. The brunette slips his free hand down his torso, gripping his growing erection.
 '... blindfold and a whip ...'
He thinks about how Nagito would look wearing a proper leather collar and blindfold, how black restraints and silver studs would contrast beautifully against his naked form. Rather than a whip, Hajime would use his hands and mouth to leave marks of red and blue across the expanse of snowy-white skin.
Hajime strokes himself faster, imagining how thick, heavy chains could easily weigh Nagito down, submitting - kneeling - to his every whim. Not that he needed restraints for that. Nagito would gladly obey his orders if Hajime simply asked him to.
With just a few more pumps of his hand, Hajime finishes, grabbing a tissue to clean himself off.
Dammit.
Hajime instantly reprimands himself, blaming Nagito's masochistic tendencies for these strange fixations, but hell if he wasn't enabling him.
With a spell of self-encouragement, he slapped the sides of his face with his hands, ready to accept his fate.
Yosh!
With renewed vigor, Hajime showered and got dressed. He had to a very important meeting to attend today that involved Nagito, the Supermarket and a shopping list of some choice commodities.
-----
Outside, along the grass-edge of the pathway to Hajime's cottage, the bushes rustled in time with the wind. Mahiru scrolled through the pictures on her digital camera, conflicted. She had a hunch there was something suspicious going on with those two and now she knew enough to fill up an entire gossip magazine.
It took her awhile to come to a decision, but she settles on deleting the photos, all of them except for one. Out of every picture she took of Hajime and Nagito together, this one was her favorite. The exposure was much too bright and the composition could be better, but that's what she liked about it - how well the photo suited the both of them.

Ngl i feel like Tom Fulp had to back peddle and make Picos school more palatable for a newer audience since the things that are normal on newgrounds don't fly on twitter. Idk if my Pico lore is off but i thought the Nene is homophobic joke came from the fnfHD mod so i don't think i can count that as sanitizing the character but i know Cyclops swastikas had gotten removed in that Pico remake game where Pico and Boyfriend were couple. I remember on Twitter there was a weird move to try and make Picos School more PC for some reason? Like why even bother getting rid of the racist design choices made in a game where it's about a penis alien committing a school shooting?
As for like the KFCs genders i remember ages ago people claimed that Toby had said that you could choose whatever gender you wanted to identify Chara and Frisk as but I've never seen as source for this but it's not like i care I've always referred to Frisk and Chara as female. I know Toby had stated Kris is a "they" in a stream apparently but even then i still don't care and i see Kris as a straight dude. (Ex: him hiding a book with a character with a bikini on it, the love Tea he drink and the stats of it showing he had a liking towards Susie and Noelle, his whole dynamic with Noelle during a genocide route and getting her a ring, the one save point and the queens legs stating something along the lines of "looking at these legs fills you with something" yea yea all that when it comes to fiction i just have a habit of referring too characters by certain genders depending on how i see them. Like Wx-78 from don't starve, the whole joke is that the character is a robot and it's gender is nonbinary, even then i still refer to the character as male due to some dialogue and having an outfit where he's wearing a bowtie with a drawn on mustache even with these examples as to why a huge proportion of people refer to him as male there's still people who'll harp on others for not using neutral pronouns
Exactly. Pico's School itself doesn't take too seriously that it could be on levels with South Park kind of humor. I wouldn't be surprised if Tom Fulp had that in mind during its creation. But yeah, whatever gender people see in KFC, whether it is a boy, girl, or gender neutral, it's different for everybody. There is no evil intention behind it. Some may have done it for self insertion, but when haven't we self inserted in a blank slate-like character for shipping with our faves? Not only does the gender neutral count for KFC, but can extend to ones like Monster Kid too. I remember that the only 'misgendered' mistake Toby had done was that he/him pronouns was used for Monster Kid during the first run print of the Undertale art book that fans got upset when they saw it that Toby/Fangamer had to change it to they/them since MK was also one of the characters that used gender neutral pronouns.

(For the time being, I’ll just go by Timeline Kirby anon until I’m ready to un-anon ask)
Oh yes, some of those cross-era encounters will fuel several wake-up calls for tragic characters like Taranza who just wanted to help Sectonia.
On the gameplay side, I was thinking of one of three major approaches:
Traditional 2D platformer (tried and true method for every mainline game)
Newer 3D platformer (experimental with considerable success in BB and FL)
A potential JRPG style game where every character has their own abilities in a turn-based battle system similar to MA’s “Kirby Quest” sub-game while combining SKC’s stat-leveling system
(No, we’re not adding SKC Microtransagolor here. Magolor might have a playable/shopkeeper role, but not for real-money-Gem-Apple purposes)
Also depending on the “era” certain characters like Kirby and Dedede originate from, they could have certain abilities and traits that make them stand out from everyone else.
Different eras of Kirby for example might utilize different health-measuring gimmicks seen in the games (number of hits taken, health bar, number of Kirby clones in-play, etc) and have access to different lists of copy abilities (and their respective masteries of such abilities). While they each have similar base moves, each of them could have a specific trait that makes themselves unique from other Kirbys.
DL - No copy abilities, but can better utilize the Mint Leaf item
KA/NiDL - Star Rod
DL2 - Rick/Kine/Coo and the Rainbow Sword
DL3 - Every Animal Friend and the Love-Love Stick
SS/SSU - Can sacrifice copy ability to summon a helper
CS - Combine copy abilities to create new ones, can use Ribbon’s Crystal
AM - There’s four of them. Can use the Master Sword and Smash ability, can use a phone to gather other Kirbys
SqSd - Has a larger “on-hand” bubble inventory where he can fuse items and abilities to create new ones, copy abilities can be empowered with collectable scrolls (elemental weaponry copy abilities included), can use the Triple Star Staff
RtDL - Access to Super Copy Abilities
TDX - Can access Hypernova after finding a Miracle Fruit
PR - Can use Robobot Armor
SA - Can turn enemies into up to three Friends using Friend Hearts, more adept at performing Friend-based abilities (Train, Bridge, Wheel, Star, Star Allies Sparkler), can imbue elemental properties into several copy abilities, can sacrifice own copy ability to make a Friend, Can summon Dream Friends with special powers and interactions (?)
FL - Copy abilities can be upgraded into improved forms, can use Mouthful Mode
And that’s not even counting the higher spin-off games either.
...Aha! There!
I knew I had an ask of yours still sitting in my inbox, KTA! Yeah, totally left off in the middle of this convo... Sorry about that!
I was thinking, with how much more accessible/easy to work with game making engines have become, we could see a rise in 3D platformer fangames! I don't know how easy it would be to emulate FL's style in something like Unity or Godot, but at least there's a good model for it.
(I also think a diorama-style game, ala Captain Toad, could be a beautiful look for a Kirby fangame. Although you'd probably want to build that one from the ground up to be about puzzle solving. Probably with some diorama loving villain that used a magical artifact to chop Pop Star up into square dioramas!)
...But as we all know, I'd love to see a Kirby JRPG too! Since we've got all the different Kirbys from their different eras of games, I have to ask, are you familiar with the game "Live a Live," which just got a remake? It's one of my FAVORITE JRPGs, and I think you'll find it could be a good model for your story idea...!
By the way, I love how you're planning on re-utilizing the gimmicks from the older games (or turning the older game's traits into gimmicks!) They're one of those things where, its hard to bring them back into a modern game, where obviously HAL will want a new system that meshes with the overall gameplay experience, but some of them were SO GOOD!
Which was the feeling I got looking at your list! I know I felt a burst of excitement just at the chance to play with some of these abilities again! (And doing so either in a 3D adventure or JRPG setting?! Even better!)
-
PS: I think there's lots of humor potential in including a mischievous character like Magolor as a "shopkeeper" of some kind. Especially if there's ONE shopkeeper Magolor (different from the RtDL-verse Magolor) who *somehow* keeps finding the various Kirbys. (Or maybe he operates in some kind of sub-space that all the Kirbys have access to?) He could also trade stage collectibles for items like a sound test/gallery, upgrades etc too!

Ok here are emy shinies I think they're very cool and I want to brag about them
Legends Arceus Shinies - I have a lot of shinies in legends Arceus because shiny hunting is actulay kinda easier in this game
Sans the Parasect - my first ever shiny pokemon!! I got her in a mass outbreak I named her sans because I asked my sibling what I should name her and they kept naming Undertale things
Pyrite the Golem - ok so I was in the coronet highlands doing the quest where you helpt the spheal down the mountain and the path you go down has a static alpha golem spawn so I was just going down and BAM SHINY FUCKING ALPHA GOLEM. WHAT THE FUCK. One of my coolest pokemon in my opinion
Casper the Hisuian Zoroak - ONE OF MY DREAM SHINIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got him kind of recently and he's one of my dream shinies I fucking love him so much
Nanab the Ambipom - Ok this was also one of my first shinies I got not long after Sans. I just evolved her into Ambipom just now because I realized I could do that I got her pretty quickly from a mass outbreak I didn't even have to reset I named her nanab because nanab berries are basically banana and theyr pink and shiny aipom id a pink monkey
Kyle the Glalie- Ok so I was trying to catch thundurs and there's a shit ton of glalie around that are. Annoying. and I was flying around and suddenly this mother fucker shows up. Out of the blue. I don't have any particular feelings about him so I named him Kyle
Mossy the Zubat - I was looking for wisps and she spawned way below me and I was like "OH MY GO" one of the few green shiny pokemon I like
Polaris the Ponyta - the game actually gives you this one for free you have to catch it for a request and it's a guaramteed catch. I wanted to name it after a blue star and I thought Polaris but Polaris isn't blue. But the word Polaris feels blue to me so shhhhhh
Pokemon Infinity - This is a fangame so it doesn't exactly count but I still think they're really cool
Ourple the female Nidoran - At the beginning of my playthrough was walking back and forth in he grass on the first route because I wanted to catch an egho fearow and on my second encounte FUCKING SHINY NIDORAN OUT OF THE BLUE I was amazed
Godzilla the Feraligatr - I'm pretty sure this one's a guaranteed shiny? Donny the shiny hunter mentions "hey a discolored feraligate went into the sewers" and I went to the sewers and I see a pokemon standing there and m like what Pokemon is that so I fight or and realize it's shiny feralgator so I caught her. apparently feraligatr is greener but I guess in Pokemon infiniy they changed it to be black and pink because Godzilla is black and pink. Also I caught her in a love ball I bought which was nice. She's ob my team currently but I don't really know if I'll keep her because i already have a good water type on my team (cross the Blastoise)
Pokemon Sword
Valentine the Slyveon - I got them from my friend valentine dime @hopjam and they're so fuxking cool. They know the egg move wish and they have the pokerus. And the great friends ribbon. And they carried me through opal's gym I would not have won without valentine. I love them so muchajajanansjajajjahshshahabahhahshdgdhshs !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pokerus can spread btw so bc of valentine my starter Steve now also has pokerus
I don't have any shiny Pokemon in pokemon scarlet. I almost found one I remember I tried to make my pokemon autobatrle another pokemon and they refused even at full health to which only happens when it's a shiny (I don't remember which Pokemon it was) but I didn't know this at the time. So I didn't realize it was shiny. So I think I missed out on a shiny Pokemon and I'm so disappointed about that

If one decides to start a creative project about their favorite thing, be it fanart, fanfic, fangame etc. , which approach do you prefer, the creatives involved fully dedicating themselves to recreating and recapturing what made the original works...work, or make an active choice to be derivative (this doesn't mean artists are ignorant about the original material, not necessarily) How do you feel about either, and are there any other approach you can think of?
There's this guy who used to post at SFGHQ named Sam Beddoes who now runs Freakzone Games. He's made the official Manos: The Hands of Fate game, he did both AVGN Adventures, he's the project lead on that Toxic Crusaders beat'em'up, etc.
But he's an old guard Sonic head and I've heard him turn up on a couple of Sonic podcasts, specifically to talk fangames, and by his account he got really fed up with the Sonic fangaming scene when everybody became obsessed with perfectly replicating the Genesis games, because to him, all the creativity and magic went away.
I remember hearing that and both agreeing and disagreeing with him. And I have enough thoughts about it that I've actually considered doing a video about it, and about fangaming overall.
I think there is a stigma to replicating something perfectly that's very adjacent to people who are concerned about young artists who start out by tracing pictures other people have drawn. Plagiarism is a real, legitimate problem. But it's only a problem if you lie about tracing.
I'm of the mind that if you're starting out drawing, half the problem is just learning control. Tracing can be a valuable tool in helping you to understand hand motions and give you a perspective on the construction of an image. For the earliest beginners, I don't think there's any shame in starting out by tracing. It's building muscle memory. Just don't say you drew it.
Similarly, my game development skills went way, way, way up about the time I started to analyze and perfectly replicate existing games. Like, the long canceled Sonic Forever project used an early enough version of the Sonic Worlds codebase that I had to read the Sonic Retro Physics Guide and use their data on how to add Knuckles in from scratch. My code matched how he worked in the Genesis games almost 1:1, because it was largely me just interpreting the values into something Clickteam Fusion could understand.
Something similar happened when, in 2012, I started (and never finished) a remake of my famous Mario Blue Twilight DX fangame. That's when I started really paying attention to how the source games worked so I could get a better sense of how a Mario game needed to "feel" in order to be correct.
And that trend continued with every fangame project I worked on following that, like when I figured I could make my own version of Sonic 2's Hidden Palace Zone, since I wasn't happy with the Retro Engine version. The idea was to be accurate above all else. In some cases, I'd even watch recordings of official gameplay in slow motion just so I could see exactly how the game was created, and in some cases, count frame by frame the duration of certain actions.
And all of this just makes me think of when I showed a friend my game jam game, OverBite. He complimented me on how nice the controls felt, in that kind of backhanded way where he said "When did you learn to make games feel so nice?"
Because if you go back to those really early games of mine, they all feel like garbage to control. And I attribute it to putting in a lot of time pulling apart the nuts and bolts of real retro games and putting a microscope up to why they work the way they do. Deconstructing all of their little nuances and sub-states and then trying to put it all back together again in a different programming language.
You learn a lot when you're forced to stop and understand why a piece of code exists in the way it does. Why there are all these little edge cases that you never notice but still exist to make a game feel just a little better.
At the end of the day, yes, Sam was right. Games need to have creativity and seeking out the perfect replication of the Sega Genesis Sonic games can feel somewhat futile. Every SAGE for the last ten years, there will be at least three games that instantly vanish from my memory because they are basic, plain Sonic Worlds Delta fangames with no style of their own. They just want to make Sonic 4 and we've had a lot of different Sonic 4s by now.
But the thing about learning is, you gotta learn the rules before you learn why and where to break them, because breaking (or at least bending) all of those boring, standardized rules is where your personal style starts to emerge, and that personal style is ultimately what people are going to be interested in at the end of the day.
So I think it is vitally important to start at 1:1 exact recreation and once you've made a comfortable replica, only then should you start asking yourself what you'd change and why. Make sure you understand the material before venturing further. You gotta learn to do it right first.

it's that time. i'm gonna ramble about undertale. why? why not, hehehe
spoilers for undertale
okkkk so last time i talked about undertale here was after i did true pacifist i think. since then, i've done:
one where i did no mercy through ruins and snowdin (exhausted the kill count in both areas and killed toriel), then i spared and hung out with papyrus. then i proceeded to continue being a terrible person and killed everything else i encountered in the rest of the game, which resulted in king papyrus ending
[i just ran away when monster kid fell off the bridge. i kept stealing food from the snowdin shop. i even said that alphys had a crush on undyne. truly being the meanest person ever. i actually had to do mettaton's fight twice because the first time i got the rating goal before killing him lol- i spent too much time eating food instead of attacking. oh and i used the toy knife and the bandage for the whole run because i figured why not
my thoughts about the ending - i think it's pretty sad? out of process of elimination, papyrus is the king, which should be everything he's wanted, since yknow. being king makes you popular, or it should. but in the phone call dialogue at the end, mmmh as soon as sans leaves, papyrus gets all sad and i think he only makes that face one other time (that i've seen, it's when you call him when undyne isn't there when you can see the core and the dialogue is just "..."). it's just ahh he seems all optimistic about moving forwards and leading everyone but as soon as sans is gone, he drops the act and, man... :( ]
-
then one where i did pacifist except for papyrus- so i was being nice to everyone and spared everyone except papyrus. and yeah... i did wait until he spared me in the fight to betrayal kill him...
[I now have this amazing screenshot:
Tumblr media
yes papyrus i'm looking very closely at you and your gauntlet of deadly terror.
in this run i also noticed that sans says "(yes)" (about the human in front of the rock) WITHOUT AN ASTERIX. ok so maybe i'm missing it in other characters because i don't look as closely, but sans also says things in parentheses other times and uses an asterix. and everyone else in the game (except entry 17 and papyrus) uses an asterix. in the first fangamer qna, sans also isn't using asterixes, but in the second one he is. so mm idk, but it does exist.
so basically sans just ghosted me the whole game because. yeah.
what kinda surprised me (not sure why) was that undyne was pissed at what I did- her fight start dialogue is changed a lot, and before you get to save, she goes from saying "*Step forward when you're ready! Fuhuhuhu!" (in other runs) to "*Go ahead. Prepare however you want. *But when you step forward... I will KILL you." AND there's no epic music between the save part and the fight.
i did the rest of the game from first alphys appearance in a car LOL- my laptop computer has odd arrow keys and the up and down buttons are half the size as the right and left (they're squeezed together for space) which makes it much harder. that and other car problems.
i surprised myself by first try-ing muffet and mettaton, and got quite far into asgore without healing then second tried with food. though being level six and having double hp compared to pacifist definitely helped.
i was also surprised at the ending- i think because i killed flowey in the run before this one, it was weird and flowey absorbed the souls but didn't close the game? and i got the neutral credits, could leave, and got the sans call, but didn't have to fight omega flowey.
another weird thing is that my menu looks like this??
Tumblr media
like.. toriel i get, because i spared her. but papyrus and sans???? skelebros what are you doing here, i killed papyrus and only papyrus?? the only reason i can think of is because i did king papyrus the run before this, but that still doesn't make sense. (i'm considering doing another of this exact run to see if it's a glitch honestly)
And this (below) is my menu during the king papyrus run i did
Tumblr media
as for thoughts about the ending/phone call - first of all i think it's like. damn. that sans only says unique stuff depending on consumables/bandage/saving if papyrus is alive, otherwise he just says he's gonna leave a message, that alone is an oof.
so if sans still made that promise to toriel, and he still was friends with toriel, she probably would've asked him where papyrus was, right? since she recognises him instantly in true pacifist. so like... if sans can't bring himself to tell her that the human killed papyrus because sans promised to not hurt the child, then what did he tell her? another damn.
also that undyne started a freaking revolution against toriel because she wanted to be kind to humans- i'm gonna have to go through more endings to see if that's just because i killed papyrus (but since this is the ending that i spared everyone but papyrus, i'd guess so)
i thought that sans would tell me to go hell but i guess not]
OK after all that, LMAO -
i really want to do a no mercy because i want to fight undyne the undying and sans, but i DO NOT want the soulless flag. upon looking it up, it only happens once you've sold your soul to chara, so i'm planning to do a no mercy run until level 20 then reset. praying that works- pretty much all of genocide is so spooky
so uh yep
please tell me noone has read all this oh god am i even gonna post this (yes) (why not lol)

Hello there. I liked your content about Luna and Namine at most with the headcannon overall🙂👍🏼
Here's a question for you: Do you have any possible headcannons about Luna's biological mother (despite we don't see here). And what was Luna's childhood with her, before she ran away? I'm curious about that.
Ah, thank you so much!! I recognise a lot of your art and the ideas you have for your Chronicverse seem really intriguing, so, it means a lot that you like my content!! ^-^
Um.. I must admit that I often struggle with coming up with headcanons. But, one that I did have is that Luna’s mother was related to Cynthia (possibly her sister?), since Luna’s sprites were largely created with Cynthia’s as a base, if I recall correctly. I also like the idea of her name being Selene, to continue the moon theme, and maybe Luna looked quite similar to her which is why their names also follow a similar theme. She most likely passed away or otherwise left the picture when Luna was still very young, but she gave her the first taste of fairytales and stories that Luna loved so much, introducing her to worlds and tales outside the confines of her upbringing at Elias’ hands. I like to think that Luna and her mother were close.
Regarding Luna’s childhood beyond that point.. well, it definitely wasn’t a happy one, we know that. But, I like to think that Taka took on quite an older brother sort of role to her, especially while they were both much younger, since the two of them seemed to be all that the other had. He helped bring her out of her shell a tiny bit, but by the time Luna was able to run away with the help of Shade, he had already resigned himself to his position and didn’t feel he could get out himself. I also think that after Luna ran away, she didn’t go straight to Radomus, and instead hid herself away in Iolia Valley, so she had to fend for herself for a while. It was in the dark crystal caves there that she met a lot of her current Pokémon, but her Umbreon was originally an Eevee she brought with her when she ran away from Elias, which is part of why it’s now her ace Pokémon.
I hope that all that was alright! Thank you so much again for sending this ask in, and i hope that my answer was okay!!

All Too Familiar
A fic based off my fangame with Abe and my OC; a sort of reaction to ISWM, with a lot of angst and hurt/comf. We'll say it takes place between Chapter Two and Chapter Three of the fangame, canon-wise. You can still read/reblog if you haven't played the fangame, it's simple enough to catch on with just the context of Abe and OC living in a crappy office together. Hope folks enjoy it ^_^
CW: Panic attacks, transphobia and child abuse
*~*~*
Link woke up from his nightmare with the impulse to run. Without any thought behind it, he tossed his blanket on the floor, rolled off the leather couch, and made a mad crawl to Abe's computer desk. He hated that it was so dark under it, that the rolling chair's wheels made noise when he brushed past it, and that he barely missed hitting his head on the desk. But he couldn't be out in the open and still feel safe. Not when he was like this. Not at this late hour.
He started rocking, the back of his head hitting the back wall of the desk a few times, before he rested his chin onto his knees. He knew he was just panicking, he knew he needed to stop panicking--but between these racing thoughts and what he recalled of that dream…
You know, I've had the strangest dreams, lately... Must be something about that cryo thing you put me in. But oh, my word, the dreams…
Link covered his ears, unsure if he was hearing that voice, or hallucinating again. It seemed to be the latter, which felt confirmed when he heard it again, louder than before.
They're not the type of dreams that I forget, either. They linger, like a shadow. And they don't go away when the day comes.
Link needed to calm down. He needed to count the seconds of his breaths--inhale, exhale, 5 and 7 like a haiku. But he couldn't fight the many feelings washing over him out of nowhere; that something was going to come after him, that he was making a mistake and would mess everything up, that he might get himself--and others--killed.
And then there was Abe sleeping on the other couch. He'd accidentally woken up Abe a few times before when he panicked, and Abe had always been understanding–and yet Link feared this could be the time Abe was fed up with him, and kicked him out for good. Even knowing it was irrational to think that, wasn't enough to quell the rapid heart beat, the cold sweat, the churn of his stomach and numbness slowly enveloping him. Being afraid of Abe, the person he lived with… something about it felt… felt…
Makes you feel like you've been through all of this before... Do you understand, dearie?
Link shoved his hand into his mouth, teeth leaving marks into his hand as he fought to hide a scream. Tears were welling up now, both hands trembling–but he had to start handling these on his own. He had to. He couldn't keep doing this to Abe. To anyone. Ever.
Why are you doing this to me? Just stop acting so pathetic! Grow up! There's nothing wrong and you're making up–
"Link?"
Link looked up to find Abe crouched by the desk. His left arm rested against the desk above Link, his right hand held Link's blanket, and his expression was a fair mix of exhaustion and concern.
"Another nightmare." It didn't sound like a question at all, more like he was making observations on a case.
Link felt a wall between himself and being able to speak, like his tongue was ripped down into his throat. So he just nodded, and then covered his face so Abe wouldn't see his tears fall.
Abe sighed. "You don't have to hide," he said. "I'm not gunna chew you out for this. I don’t want to be an asshole… anymore." He placed the blanket on Link's shoulder. "Come out when you're ready, I’ll make something warm to drink."
But as his hand moved away, Link found himself grabbing Abe's wrist. Now that Abe was awake and reacting calmly once again, Link felt like he could calm down if Abe just stayed with him. He didn't want to be needy, he didn’t want to act like a child, but…
Abe slowly pulled his hand away, just to reach with both to grasp Link's shoulders. "Hey. You’re not there, wherever you were when you were dreaming. You're here, and you’re safe. Remember that." He paused. "Let's make some hot chocolate together, yeah?"
They did not end up making hot chocolate together. Even though he was calmer, Link still felt spacey, like he couldn’t get out of his own head. He could barely focus on anything, and kept zoning out on accident. That last voice had been different than the one before, but he couldn’t tell where it had come from–just that it had struck a hard chord, that it felt painful to comprehend. The biggest difficulty was just to think of what he was doing, instead of the last voice.
After standing by the counter with the packet of chocolate in his hands, and doing nothing to open it for 30 seconds, Abe wordlessly took the packet and guided Link to the chair by the dining table. Link wasn't sure if minutes or hours had passed by the time Abe returned. There was only one chair available, so Abe placing a box labelled "work stuff" beside the table so he could sit with Link. Then he went back, and brought two full mugs, one having the exact balance of milk and honey and marshmallows that Link liked most.
Link felt the heat of the mug in his hands, smelled the hot chocolate, and saw the light rise of steam fog up his glasses. When did he put his glasses back on? Did he ever take them off before--no, that didn't matter. He had to focus, come back to the office with Abe and stop floating into his head. So he focused on the warm mug, on the table, on the things he could see around him, taking a glance at the lazy messes that had built up around the office/studio. Normally Link could clean those messes, but lately, he’d just felt so tired all the time…
He looked to Abe, who was staring at his own mug, a pained frown scrunching his features together. The color to his face, yellow striped pajama shirt and pants, and the pink fluffy bunny slippers, all faded to gray shades, as if a cloud was casting a shadow over him. Despite my best efforts, the indecipherable Plumbhead Parker was getting worse. My skill sets remained best in the tough world of investigation and balloon tricks from clown college. I could gauge the damage to a client’s mind well enough, let alone a roommate I’ve learned to call my friend. But when it came to helping someone heal from–He saw Link staring, and glanced away at the wall as he lifted the mug to his lips, color returning to him as he sighed.
"We need to work on you not eavesdropping so much. The main point of what I was thinking, though... Never thought I'd say this, but I wish we had money for a shrink. You know?"
Link scoffed a bit at the word "shrink," but nodded. He wished they could, too.
"You wanna talk about your dream? I mean, if you can talk."
Link shook his head. He still felt muted, but would recover soon enough. He barely recalled anything from the dream, anyway. He was on some kind of spaceship, he died from lack of oxygen, somehow came back and saved a crewmate… What was his name again? Who was the older woman, who kept on showing up? Was she– Link shook his head harder, more to jostle his train of thought than for communication.
"Yeah," Abe nodded, "that's fair. This one seemed… worse than usual."
Link nodded. The last voice he’d heard under the desk came back to mind, and he wondered why it felt so familiar… He didn’t know why, but he felt that he had trusted that voice once, wanted approval from them. Which only made the harshness cut in deeper… He didn’t remember this person in his mind, but it was like some other part of him did.
Grow up! There's nothing wrong and you're making up excuses for attention!
Link’s body tensed for a moment, and he swallowed, facing his mug. He knew who that was, now.
“M-M-Mom…”
Abe’s head tilted. “What? Your mother?”
Link still struggled to speak, and hot tears were running down his face again. He took in a deep breath, managing to not start sobbing as he looked back up at Abe. Would it be easier to just use three words? Two? One, even? What could he even say?
“I… I-I…” He paused, then wiped his cheeks on his shirt sleeve, buying time as he focused on the words. “I… I th-think… she… hates me.”
Abe glanced to the wall beside them, surely contemplating this like a lead in a mystery. “Okay… that’s unfortunate, if true. Even if she didn’t hate you, but made you feel that way, a constant level of mistreatment from your own mother...” Link saw Abe’s jaw clench and nose flair at the idea. “That would fuck anybody up.”
Link didn’t know how to respond, so he just blew on his hot chocolate and sipped at it. (It was delicious, as usual). He was a bit surprised that Abe didn’t ask why she hated him. Maybe Abe thought that didn’t matter. Maybe it didn’t, to some extent. But Link had remembered his mother’s voice before, (he couldn’t explain how he knew it was hers, just that he felt like it was hers)--but he’d never shared with Abe what he’d found out from it. But what if Abe got upset when Link told him…
No. Abe wouldn’t. Link needed to stop assuming the worst when he was like this. He still felt afraid, but he knew in his mind that this would be okay, somehow.
“I… I know, why, she…”
“There doesn’t need to be a why. Sometimes parents just pick a kid to pick on, take their frustrations out on. You didn’t have to do anything wrong to–”
“Abe…”
Abe’s not-well-hidden-fury melted back a bit. “Oh… well, I’m not saying you can’t share, it’s just… I just want you to be okay, Link.”
Link shut his eyes, took in another deep breath, and– “I’m… I-I’m trans. G-gender, I mean.”
Abe's eyebrows met for a moment as he processed this information. Then they shot up, and he leaned back into his chair. "…Wow. That's…" he failed to suppress a chuckle, or hide his sudden grin. "Sorry, I'm just--I didn't expect that. At all."
Link felt his shoulders rise. Abe had not explicitly stated that he wasn't mad with Link, so what if–
"Hang on," Abe pointed as he read Link's face, "you stop that. I'm not that kind of asshole. When it comes to the alphabet soup, I seriously don't care." He paused, frowning at himself. "No, that came out wrong--I do care, but I don't… what I mean is, I don't not care in a bad way. You, it's… I only care in the way, that, um…" He stopped for a second, tired of fumbling through words. "I care about people treating you like shit for this. I know you can't help just... being you. And anyone who made you feel bad for it, they've likely contributed to all these problems you've been having. I can't explain the music stuff in your head or the voices you hear, I don't know how much of it is trauma or some supernatural thing, but–"
Link had gotten up while Abe was rambling, and now leaned his head into Abe’s shoulder, his doofy way of requesting a hug. Abe was hesitant, as usual, but he did eventually wrap his arms around Link, rubbing his shoulder with his big, strong hands.
“Hey,” he said gently, “I know you don’t want to remember everything. And that might even be best, at least for right now. But remembering this? It's a good thing. It’s progress. Now that you know what makes you so anxious all the time, you can work on it more easily…” a short pause. “I think. Maybe. I don’t have any credentials, but that seems right.”
Link nodded into Abe’s shoulder. “Mmmhmm.”
Abe gave Link’s shoulder one last pat, then slowly pulled back. “Okay, well. I don’t know if I’ll get much sleep tonight. You can sleep if you want, or, I can whip up some popcorn and we can see what’s on TV.”
Link nodded in agreement, taking his mug and going to the couch. He ended up holding the TV remote for 25 seconds, before he remembered he was supposed to hit the on button. He found something goofy to watch–something about two guys named Jim talking about the weather–and was finished with his mug by the time Abe came back with popcorn. Even when he lost focus on the TV, it was nice to just be there--hearing Abe's chuckles, smelling salt and hot butter.
He didn’t know when he started leaning into Abe's shoulder again–he only realized he was falling asleep when he had to pry his eyes back open. It was a struggle to stay that way, so he shut them again, deciding to let himself drift off, just like this.
He just hoped he wouldn’t go back to that nightmare. To that place. With that old woman. And who was that guy...? and what was happening...?
But don’t worry; I’m sure this dream will sort itself out right quick. It’s just a matter of finding the right answer, right captain?

Superhero AU
Okay okay, listen. Imagine them being superheros/villains.
So Arisu, Karube, Chota, and Shibuki are regular adults doing normal adult things, nothing changes about that. Shibuki is a part of this because she can, she’s just pals with a group of dudes and doesn’t mind it at all because they’re all genuinely good people.
Anyways, because life wanted to fuck with them, something happens. Maybe it was a shady guy giving them weird drinks or jewelry or whatever, maybe it was a freak accident that gave them powers. Whatever the cause was, they receive powers out of their control at first and are now tasked with using said powers for the greater good of humanity.
Why? Well the city they’ve lived in all their lives has been terrorized by a villainous group, or maybe separate villains that just so happen to be in the area. Either way, the group is tasked with protecting the city or else terrible things will continue to happen. The city was already being protected by one group of heroes, but the villains are getting more and more frisky and dangerous.
So now it’s up to them to help. Yay.
Arisu and his friends do form their own mini superhero team, because there’s nothing better than fighting alongside your friends. :D
Arisu was tasked with the nice power of what can be counted as future sight and analytical planning. Basically he can track the future movements of anyone within a room as well as problem solve in case a problem has occurred. Example being that they are stuck in a rapidly flooding room with ninjas… or something like that. He’d be able to not only track the ninjas movements but also seek a way to escape the room before they all drown. When he does this time effectively stops for him, like a game where he has to make choices that appear in front of him and allow him time to think before acting.
Karube gets a sort of super strength ability. It thankfully isn’t one where he has it at full power all the time, or else some things may get a bit convoluted, but when he puts his mind to it he can punch and kick and shatter a spine if he really wanted to. He can manipulate it as well so it can fit more daily needs, like opening a tough pickle jar, so it’s handy.
Chota has the power to see through walls and record them, which can be handy in case there’s something the others needs to see but is obscured. He also can turn it off and on at will, and Shibuki makes sure he isn’t doing it for anything dirty (because this power can be used entirely for really bad intents). It at the very least makes his eyes like projectors when he shows the others the recording (which is as long as he can keep his eyes open. When he blinks it cut the recording there) and can only hold one recording at a time as the power overwrites it each time.
Shibuki gets the power of oral/written word manipulation. It’s like a super version of hypnosis really, where she can get anyone to follow her requests without much resistance. That is, unless the person has an immunity or high resistance to it. It in itself sounds like a weak power compared to the others, but words are powerful depending on what she says, and for her it doesn’t have to be in close contact or even spoken. Shibuki can induce her power into a written sentence or small paragraph and trick her victim into reading it. It all depends on her getting to her intended victim.
Together, they form a pretty formidable team together and protect the city, although they do have to work to make a name for themselves. Which gives the added bonus of villains gunning for them. How fun.
Of course they’re not the only superhero group in the city, just the newest ones. The other team, which had been previously keeping the villains at bay, end up hearing about this new team, and their leader gets interested in them.
So what ends up happening is that the leader and his right hand man meet Arisu and the others at the local coffee shop, because obviously this is super important and all important things happen in cafes or bars somehow.
The leader simply introduces himself as Hatter, and his right hand as Aguni. Arisu already knew about them from news articles, and occasionally fangames about them. Anyways, Hatter questions them on random things, mostly about their work ethics and how willing they are to put their lives into this city. Not everyone is prepared to have a whole population on their shoulders after all, and there’s always a loom of death over their heads at all times.
Of course Arisu falters for a bit, nobody wants to die an early death out of their control, but it was also for the greater good. So he (and the others) state that they were completely willing to help their community, because it meant other people can live their lives knowing that they can be safe from the threats that are outside normal human abilities.
Well Hatter loved their spunk, and he ends up inviting them to come join his little Hero Union so they could have a little less to worry about on their plates. After a bit of conversation the four end up agreeing, and Hatter takes them to an apartment building that he owns, which double as a superhero base for his (and now Arisu’s) team. The base serves as free housing and availability to weapons and immediate medical attention in case they need it. Hatter didn’t mind if they preferred their old homes instead, the offer always remains.
Especially the medical bay. Superhero business is tough work.
Arisu and his friends eventually meet up with Hatter’s team of heroes.
Hatter, the leader, has the power of what Arisu can only explain it as ‘The Power of Teamwork’. It basically works in two ways: A) Hatter can summon hordes of anything he puts his mind to, although only can keep one horde at a time, and the amount entirely depends on how many he can muster. The less energy he has, the smaller the horde. This is ridiculously powerful, but it drains a lot out of him so he can’t do this half too much. Plus he can’t control the horde that much, outside of one simple command which they will do until they perish. B) Hatter can boost his teammate’s powers. This one is much easier on his bones, but the boost again reflects on his own ability to muster it up. There’s no limit to how many people he can boost, but the more he does the less each person gets.
Aguni has plant manipulation (Mmm delicious Chlorokinesis….), and can therefore summon and control any plant in any way that he chooses. He can make them grow and move in any way that he wants them to, however he can only do so in sunlight, so he has to rely on natural strength or weapons at night. Aguni also can summon plants from his hands, although not trees, and it doesn’t hurt him as long as it isn’t a cactus. When he summons from his hand it simply undergoes a fast forwarded version of its growth, which looks cool as fuck.
Ann is the resident necromancer, as well as owning the ability to test any substance or object for origin or ownership on the spot just by touching it (It works through gloves don’t worry). She usually doesn’t act on her necromancy powers often, and when she does it doesn’t last long, only using it to temporarily gain information from the dead or heal dead tissue on a living person. Her superhero work mainly resides off-field, but she is still capable outside of it.
Chishiya has both invisibility and teleportation, which explains for itself. He can remain invisible for as long as he wishes, although is still tangible to others, and can still interact with objects. Teleportation can happen in any area as long as he is aware of the area existing. Chishiya can also teleport while invisible and remains as such, so the only thing keeping him from being a little shit for everyone’s privacy is his own morals. Anything he wears becomes invisible with him, but anything he carries does not, however will teleport with him.
Kuzuryuu has a power similar to Arisu’s future sight, however it works that he only sees a justifiable future depending on events that has been shown or described to him. Basically, he takes in what he’s given and sees what would be the best possible solution to take based on that information. It’s not perfect, as any new information given changes his future sight, even if the information is false. If he can’t disprove it he has to include it. He also can’t see any factors that he isn’t able to know.
Niragi has what basically is ‘Glitching in Real Life’. Basically any silly glitch or cheat mechanic that a game could have, he can do. It’s a bit of a broken power (literally), but it also can be dangerous if he isn’t careful because he isn’t in a game and is still human. Any object he interacts with can share the glitch ability, but only one at a time, and Niragi still has to comply with some rules of physics. So… he can’t breathe if he clips into anything solid. However it is extremely funny to watch him repeatedly jump and freeze objects in the air to stand on.
Mira has a power that counts as hypnosis, but convoluted. She basically makes everything a game, and the loser has to comply to the conditions set in place. Usually they are quick and simple games, but the conditions can be brutal depending on how she feels like. She of course is also liable to the conditions, so she finds it in her favour to win.
Last Boss gets sharp pointy summons. It’s exactly how it sounds, he gets to summon anything sharp (and by anything it means anything) and use it however he wants. It ranges from swords to glass shards to thumb tacks to just a very sharp spoon handle. Last Boss doesn’t even have to hold it, as he can summon them to shoot from the ground or specifically rain on a target.
Anyways, they have to get along and protect the city when they can. Hatter lets Arisu to continue protecting with his little group of friends, but also lets him borrow one of his people if he needs their help, with consent from the other party of course.
( Does Mira end up evil in this? No, thankfully. However every time she speaks about her past Arisu is low-key convinced she might have been a supervillain at one point and is just in retirement as a hero now)
Usagi is also a part of this, but she’s instead a solo hero who works on her own terms and slowly gets integrated into Arisu’s little friend group. She does help them on occasion, but prefers to just vibe and climb things instead of focusing all her time in hero work. Her powers are in the same vein, in that she can climb any surface she wants without risk of falling if she doesn’t want to fall.
No shame in that. She knows Arisu has all the help he needs and helps only when she needs to be. They can be friends outside of hero work.
Does she get kidnapped a few times in an attempt to be leverage for Arisu? Yeah. Does she manage to escape on her own terms a few times? Yeah. Usagi is simply trying to vibe and be supportive in this AU.
Kuina and Tatta are both normal civilians in this. Kuina is Chishiya’s friend and acts as his normalcy factor, because hero work takes a lot out of a person and even Chishiya deserves some time where he doesn’t have to think about being a hero for people he actually doesn’t emotionally feel for.
Tatta just works at the local coffee shop and occasionally as maintenance for the apartment base. He also acts as a sense of normalcy for everyone. Just a good friend all around.
