also also. like i know we've talked about the husbandism but i don't think we've talked about the specifics of it enough because that was like. rehearsed. buck rambles his way through a story and eddie provides contextualising information for those who aren't grossly entwined in his life and buck knows to take breaths to let eddie do this before seamlessly picking the thread of the narrative back up. it's literally insane. you can tell this is something they've done a thousand times before. THE RITUALS!!! THEY'RE INTRICATE!!!!!!!

Seeing comments on Facebook like “Buck was always a ladies man” or “he’s never shown any interest in guys before” is why this story arc is so important.

Bisexual people exist and so often get dismissed or told to pick a side or that they just can’t commit to being gay or some other shit.

Just because you show a preference to one gender doesn’t mean you can’t be attracted to another.

And you don’t have to have your sexuality figured out at a certain age! It’s fluid! It changes! You could not discover something about yourself until you are away from toxic noise and finally are in a place where you feel safe.

I’m just .. I’m so thankful for Oliver and Tim and how they’re wanting to tell this story.

Especially Oliver.

He loves Buck so much and he sees the bi community and he wants to give them the best representation he can.

just yeah .. this story arc is important and Oliver is cradling it so gently in his hands because he knows how precious it is

buck going to the filmset to tell bobby athena's not only on the plane but flying it, welcome back evan buckley who gave athena his turnouts and told her how to get through the fire to bobby after he'd been shot because he knew what it was like to stand by and do nothing for Your Person and that if there was anyone who could save them it's always going to be the person who loves them most in the world...

I know this has been discussed a lot already, but I still cannot believe how easy it was in the end to establish so much character development in just a handful of scenes that the show actively had to go out of its way to avoid for years when it was on Fox.

And I can’t stop thinking about this moment:

This feels like such a pivotal realisation in Eddie’s mind, where he not only stops denying himself things he wants in the moment but he’s now open to the possibility of more in the future, even if it might not yet have fully clicked what that means for the relationship between him and Buck.

So many unspoken options are suddenly on the menu that simply weren’t available before and that door he thought was sealed? Buck makes the first move by ringing the bell, but Eddie is the one who lets him in with the full knowledge it’s Buck specifically he’s opening the door to and in the vulnerable state of being half-dressed. Then, of course, he accepts Buck’s beer after starting the day denying himself juice.

They may not be ready to talk/confess anything to each other, but to set up so much possibility and hope in a wordless facial expression after all this time is insane and I take my hat off to Ryan and the writers/director for conveying so much in just a couple of seconds now that they’ve finally been allowed the creative freedom to tell this story.

After 8x06 and the following interviews, I gotta say that I do really like the idea of Buck going on a bit of a dating spiral, suffering through awful smalltalk and plain no chemistry interactions, while Eddie is just trying himself out, being silly, and making a couple of cringefail missteps along the way, and even though they're both getting something out of their respective journeys, they keep ending up on each other's couches, drinking beer and sitting in silence because they don't ever feel as fulfilled by their solo adventures as they do when they're just next to each other.

Just reads as a fun starting point for a realisation arc, I think.
