It is crazy living in another state during the L.A. fires because your childhood neighborhood is undergoing a Pompeii extinction event and you’re surrounded by people who don’t really care. I mean they know it’s horrible but you can’t even convey the sheer amount of people you’re scared for, the places that are lost, all the memories you had there before they’re bored. And inside you’re screaming DONT YOU UNDERSTAND!?!?!?!!!!! MY HOME IS GONE!!!!!!!!

#everyday i see photos out of altadena that make me wanna cry #so so so many landmarks i remember driving by a hundred times gone #it really gets across the sheer scale of the fire. a whole community just…wiped off the map #every morning i dread checking the fire map to see how much the flames might have spread and hope it hasn’t endangered my grandparents #honest to god if i still lived in Pasadena i would join the volunteers helping the firefighters #evacuating people turning off water systems for destroyed home so that water goes to hydrants that sort of thing
