Happy Monday Morning! 🌟🌟🌟So my Owl lapel pins have been felted, and I've added glass eyes( that I design in Adobe and print myself) and beaks (made from polymer clay) and I've embroidered them and sewn on the stainless steel pins on the backs. Now I just have to needle felt their curls in place ( much of which I have hand dyed myself) and print off their display cards (which will need to be folded and hole punched). 🌟🌟🌟Whew! So many steps go into handmade goods! And then there is sourcing and ordering supplies, and all the time spent tweaking designs. And then taking and editing endless pictures, and answering wonderful emails, and shipping and on and on.🌟🌟🌟 So thanks all you wonderful people who appreciate what goes into making all this stuff, because you allow us to do what we love. And we do love it! Try and stop me from spending 16 hours designing a goldfinch! Only 5 more sleeps until the #etsyspringmarket in Charlottetown, PE . Eek! Day 2 of @etsyteampei #etsyspringmarket and I am working away in my booth.🌲🌲🌲 I love giving felting demos and any chance to talk about felting, and I will go on and on! 🌲🌲🌲The live music here is absolutely wonderful. Since my next show is in beautiful Prince Edward Island this coming weekend, I wanted to make a piece that summed up what the place meant to me.🌊🌊🌊 We had lived in PEI for 8 years, two of my children were born there and the place is definitely important to our family. When you are military you have so many places that you call home. So PEI, for me, means wide open skies and brightness, and of course the red cliffs and the ocean. 🌊🌊🌊It also means flowers, but I'll post about that tomorrow. Working on a monkshood stem today. Monkshood is one of the flowers that always reminds me of my grandmothers garden. I only have this one lonely Owl pin left , so I am making more for my upcoming spring shows! 🌟🌟🌟#etsyspringmarket in Charlottetown, PE on April 29 & 30, and #renforthartisans Show in Rothesay, NB on May 7. 🌟🌟🌟These little merino wool and silk squares will get felted firmly in the dryer, and then will get embroidered, some needle felted curls, glass eyes, a beak and a stainless steel pin. 🌟🌟🌟 See you all soon! Happy Saturday! Finally working on some robins to add to my felted bird line. Aren't these colours awesome? I will be bringing these my spring shows. I think I will owe you an updated robin @prairiedyestudio! These are ready to be needlefelted, then I have to add beaks (that I make from straight pins, floral tape and paint, or polymer clay) and glass eyes.
