Sembra una giornata di pieno luglio oggi, il sole caldo, il vento caldo, io sto in pantaloncini fuori in veranda a leggere. Ah si. This is the calm before the storm. Stamattina avrei dovuto continuare a disegnare il prospetto dell’isolato A ma mi sono svegliata leggermente tardi e ho perso tutta la mattina ad aggiornare il bullet journal (finalmente ho trovato un layout che mi piace e che sto usando!!). Quando finisco di leggere mi rimetto sul pc dai. Mi sono cucinata per pranzo scrambled tofu con spinacini e pomodori, se non fosse per il pangoccioli che ho mangiato a colazione oggi sarei riuscita a fare un’intera giornata vegana. Vabbè mo mi posso solo concentrare su cosa prepararmi da portare lunedì (volevo provare a fare dei kimbap ma a quanto pare le alghe costano non poco, bisogna controllare al supermercato sotto casa) (questa è la sfiga di non avere nessun supermercato asiatico o etnico nella tua piccola città e adorare questi cibi).

La situazione con la tesi si è un attimo stabilizzata. Io e ile siamo state mega stressate da quei due che io ormai sono così stanca a fine giornata che mi addormento come un sasso. Ieri siamo andati con la macchina di Rambo nella città della tesi (andati e tornati in mattinata) ed è riuscito a venire anche Daniele (abbiamo deciso di lasciare le chiavi a lui perché ora che è senza macchina e ha un’avversione contro il trasporto pubblico idk why forse va con degli amici già nel weekend) (che vanno a fare là non lo so ma almeno lo accompagnano e lunedì che arriviamo noi ci può aprire) (dice pure che a sto punto resta anche il weekend dopo ma questo fatto è da appurare lì che per lo meno ci puoi parlare 24h). Non avremo però più la sua macchina (ci ha spiegato meglio come è andato l’incidente e meno male che ne è uscito tutto intero) quindi prevedo meno pause al campetto di basket. Finalmente potrò usare la valigia che è rimasta piena e inutilizzata tutta sta settimana in caso avessimo deciso di andare in un giorno intermedio. Dopo la giornata di ieri ho pranzato da ile e insieme dopo siamo andate al centro commerciale per un po’ di pausa shopping. Come al solito io ho la tendenza a vestirmi in modo tale che sembra che vado in un posto diverso dagli altri ogni volta. I was like business casual and she was like street style. Almeno ha preso dei jeans carini ed un profumo buono. It’s been years since I did this kind of outing.

Adesso invece, per the next future, il piano di battaglia è non litigare, non colpire nessuno quando mi sento un po’ frustrata, e godermi sti giorni (rifare anche tutte le foto con la fotocamera analogica). Il tizio del drone ha fatto i video da cui estrarre i frame e i video per la presentazione, i secondi li ha già fatti vedere e sono carini, ora però se la sbatte Rambo a estrarli e montarli e tutto. Io e ile e Daniele ci siamo divisi degli isolati e abbiamo iniziato a disegnarli, dovremmo accelerare un po’ ma ci siamo. Lunedì aspettiamo di sentire il prof che dovrebbe star mettendo fretta ad un amico suo che ha accesso al catasto per poter avere queste maledettissime piante dei piani terra della città studio.

Mia sorella mercoledì inizia il corso sul c1. Io da quando è iniziato il tirocinio non sto a studiare più niente, al massimo continuo a leggere in inglese e a parlarlo un po’ con lei ma niente di che. Mi devo mettere sotto anche per quest’altra cosa. Questo weekend prima di ripartire farò altre lezioni homemade di kickboxing e degli esercizi coi pesi per le braccia. Se continuano ad esserci queste temperature posso pensare di riprendere qualche corsa mattutina una volta lì, speriamo.

All Beni rugs are handmade in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, with pieces ranging from traditional and modern pre-designed patterns to totally customisable one-offs. Each design comes in 12 sizes, and each rug takes about 10 weeks from order to delivery,

Cold Picnic

This New York-based company was started in 2010 by a Phoebe Sung and Peter Buer, a couple with fine arts and fashion backgrounds who wanted to experiment with combining modern aesthetics with traditional craft practices. All Cold Picnic pieces are designed in Brooklyn, and made by artisans in India, from woven jute mats to lush, modernist-patterned wool pile rugs. Each piece explores landscapes and the effects of time on the environment.

Price Point:

Most rugs start at $110 USD (approximately $175 Australian dollars) and go up to $540 (approximately $860 Australian dollars).

PAMPA

We’re big fans of Pampa, the Byron Bay-based homewares brands that’s been serving up cool, calm and collected ‘70s shag style for a while now. Designed in Byron Bay and crafted in Argentina, the brand uses typically natural pigments for its dyes, such as plants, flowers, vegetables, insects and smoke to achieve an authentically raw, natural palette.

Price point:

If you haven’t heard of the Belgian-founded, Marrakech-based lifestyle and interiors brand, I ask ‘have you been living under a rock?’ Spun from 100% wool by local craftspeople, LRNCE‘s modern, sparse rug designs are woven using traditional Moroccan methods. We love their contemporary aesthetic and on trend palettes.

Sydney-born Cassandra Karinsky has been living in Marrakech for almost 15 years and operating Kulchi for nearly all of that time! Each of her rugs is unique, and comes from a different part of the country, sourced through Cassandra’s tight network of Moroccan makers.

Kulchi does not have an e-commerce site, so all pieces are sourced and commissioned via personal email with Cassandra, based on the styles she lists online. From handwoven reed mats to Berber knots with bold colours, rugs can be pre-designed or customised but prices vary according to style and design!
