TS3 Freedom’s Call Challenge Chapter VI
Chapter VI: Illegal
“A best match, ha?”
“Yeah, like they have a system for it.”
There were cameras everywhere. Stairs, tables, lamps, even on fucking toilet seats.
“You sure I’ll be okay.” Not a question. Genevieve peered on the funky grey jelly bean on her hand.
“Uh-uh.” Cain nodded and handed her a glass of water. “Sure. Hundred percent.”
“What it do again?”
“Hell shut up and swallow it.”
She did. With a grimace.
“How long till it beguns?”
Cain’s eyes opened widely. “Just shush and wait.” A devilish smile.
They’ve been sitting in Arthur’s shop’s loft for some time now. On an old carpet, covered with an rusty blanket.
“Isn’t it small.”
Cain blinked. “What?”
“This room. It was bigger before.”
A camera on a bookshelf tried to move.
Four months since she’s come.
“Already tried Lucid with Abel.”
“What it do?”
“Just fantasies. You know. Seeing different stuff. Maybe like LSD, but I haven’t tried that one before. She laughed pretty hard, said I look like a giant lobster. But then,” Cain’s shoulders lifted, “she threw it all out.”
“Ugh.”
“So how does the pairing work?”
“I heard that there’s a scheme in every SIN which diagnoses your mental and physical experiences.”
“Mhm.”
“They put you with a man that’s perfect for your production making.”
“Like a baby.”
“Precisely.”
“Quin thinks they want to combine the Djinn and vampire DNA to make a hybrid. You guys are supposed to be the strongest.”
Alexander told her about that hybrid shit already. “I wouldn’t fight you, you know.”
“I wouldn’t if I were you.”
The perfect hybrid would consist of the best genes of every living supernatural. They can’t do that now, the NWO have no good enough technology. What they want is to make many babies and then make the babies have babies and so on. The scientists can aparently make them grow faster.
Such an awesome idea! Let’s make babies and fucking put them in laboratories so their life is so sweet and white! Fully ethical.
“Wait Gen. You were not given a partner yet.”
“Glad for that, sis.” Genevieve opened a new looking pack of cigarretes and took one between her lips. “So you pregnant yet?”
Hah.
“You two not the sweetest couple but the most talked of.”
“I heard.”
Quin Wuritch placed a chip inside of her head to make her more stable. Alexander was not happy about it, but what could he do. So he let it be. The two men have known each other for long time, the vamp marine trusted the human scientist.
“And you’ve been in the cell for 5 times now.”
Cain nodded.
Since Genevieve’ve been in that place many times too, she didn’t ask more questions. A silence fell upon them for a minute.
“Wait, now I feel s’mthin’.” She barked in a slight euphory.
Cain smirked.
“’s good.”
“Don’t talk.” Cain stopped her. “Just feel.”
Genevieve was held in a White room for three weeks for the scratch she had made on an officer’s hand. Since she came back she’s been more quiet then ever before. And she would not speak about what they’ve done to her there.
And Cain was getting used to the NWO waiter job, persistent visits to Milsow, Abram and many more doctors, the silent streets of hollow districts, the boredom of the house.
“Camping.” The redhead whispered as she slipped down on a blanket. She smiled, eyes in distance.
It was a morning after. Cain’s SIN beeped, sent a message to the NWO. But she didn’t worry about that, there were bigger problems awaiting behind a closed door.
5:53
She sat on a bar chair in front of a counter, her back facing the door. Alexander stood before her, not loosing eye contact for a second.
“I couldn’t do anything.” He said.
“I know.”
The atmosphere was tense. Sad even more. They haven’t talked most of the time being there, haven’t moved. Only hands touching. Reassuring. But not really.
“I know.” She repeated.
5:54
“If they kill me, you know, what to do.”
“Yes, I know.”
A silence.
“Tell the others.”
“I will.”
She felt misery closing her up. She wanted to throw up. She actually did three times already.
5:55
“I’m sorry.”
She looked up, saw his clenched teetch and frowned. “I wanted it, so shut up.”
“I knew what would happen.”
“I know. I did too.”
A car engine sound from outside found its way to their ears.
Cain smiled softly. “’was worth it though, wasn’t it?”
5:56
“Do you think it’ll hurt?”
“Quin told you everything already. Don’t worry. If they they kill you, you would not notice.”
Cain’s face drowned.
“The plan is already in execution.”
“Yeah, but-”
Outside. A sound of shutting the door of a car.
“Leave your eyes open. Anything could happen.”
“Don’t worry.”
“I do untill I won’t have that power.”

“Do you remember the question I asked you the first day?” He asked while he hepled her stand up.
She glared at him. “Why, no.”
“Never mind. Doesn’t matter now.”
“Why did you-”
His eyes drifted to the nearest camera on the wall. “Cannot tell.” Then he embraced her. “You will understand.”
At 6 am the door of their house opened. She was said to be dressed warmly so she was. There was not snow but the rain wouldn’t stop. She had no things packed, wouldn’t need any.
“Officer Richter.” An NWO guy saluted.
“Cain Rodgers.” Another said with already prepared handcuffs.
“That won’t be-”
“Don’t speak, you freak.” The guy walked towards them, not minding the vampire moving before Cain’s body.
Alexander repeated and calmly finished Cain’s sentence. “Officer Bradley, that won’t be necessary. She will go without a fight. I explained everything to her. Please.” He added, very politely.
The man stopped midway, the face red, angry and bitter. “I told you not to speak! Fucking discusting freaks!” He jerked out an truncheon from behind his belt and turned its volt function on. A warning.
Okay. -Cain breathed out. She squeezed Alexander’s elbow Goodbye and walked towards the car.
