Wilson Cruz, Anson Mount, Ethan Peck and Shazad Latif do joint panels at Fedcon in Bonn, Germany - June 10 2019.

Wilson talked of representation on the show, recorded a special “We love you, Anthony!” message from fans for co-star Anthony Rapp (see fan footage here and here), and in an emotional moment told Anson, Ethan and Shazad that he feels accepted by them as a gay man. Anson put his hand on Wilson’s back and Ethan said, “Love you.”

Wilson also got choked up as he praised co-star Sonequa Martin-Green: “They are giving a new definition to what it means to walk the world as a woman. Sonequa as a character but also as a person, walks through this world with such strength and vulnerability, and wields her power in such a beautiful way, that she sets the tone for all of us, and for the entire crew.”

Regarding Anson’s comment: Bernd das Brot (“Bernd the Bread”) is a beloved childrens tv programme in Germany starring the grumpy puppet character Bernd. Anson saw some of the programme on tv in his hotel room when he first arrived in Bonn. “My nightmares realized.” :D
