Hi, I hope you’re doing good in life. I wanted to ask out of curiosity, have you completed Legends Arceus? I don’t mean just get the end credits or battling arceus, but like have you done everything that could be like completed? I know “completed” is kind of a loose definition since what can be considered completed in a game is sometimes debatable and by how the player wants to define “completed.” In my case for example in Arceus, I did the whole story: the credits, the final battle with Arceus, and the daybreak update. I also filled every Pokédex entry, got the shiny charm, did all of the side quests including the ballon mini games and the path of solitude quests, got every crafting recipe, all the Hisuian poems and I won fifty battles in a row in the eternal battle reverie and got a special mark on my trainer card from Arceus for doing that. That’s my personal criteria for completing Arceus and I was wondering if you’d done the same. Before Arceus, I had never cared about doing things like completing the Pokédex or things like the battle facilities(mainly because I suck at competitive battling and am too lazy to do things like EV train), but Arceus was the first Pokémon game where I did any of that stuff. I loved the game so much that I actually wanted to and was willing to do stuff like that. I was curious if you’d done the same since you seem to love the game as much as I do.
Hey friend!! Wow what an accomplishment!! It certainly sounds like a lot so it's fantastic that you got through all of that!!
I have not finished PLA to these standards like you have, but I am SO CLOSE!!! I've done all of the above except for two things:
-Ingo's paths of solitude
-completing the eternal battle reverie
I really struggle with Ingo's paths of solitude; THEY'RE SO HARD!!! I've been doing my best with it but it's very slow going haha, Ingo really knows his battle techniques ;o;
And the 50 battles in a row, I simply haven't done yet as I was always concerned I'd never have enough time at once to do it, and I want to get it all done at once.
BUT YES! just the same as you, I've never been motivated to ever complete any pokemon game. But I'd found myself just naturally doing it with PLA since I've enjoyed playing it so much, so I just kept going. I'm not as far as you, but I'm almost there!!
What a fun question OP, thank you!! ^^

Arceus’s True Form
You’ve done it. You’ve traveled far and wide across the ancient Hisui region, thoroughly documenting every Pokemon in the land. From the common-variety to the rulers of space and time, you have befriended each and every last one of them. You’ve risen to the highest ranks of the Galaxy Expedition Team and set the stage for this land to one day become the Sinnoh Region. Some day, humans and Pokemon living side-by-side will become commonplace, as was the will of the almighty Arceus.
Speaking of whom, as you drift off to sleep yet again, the maker appears before you in your dreams. This has happened before, of course; Arceus does so love testing you, and you presume that this is to be another Eternal Battle Reverie. You ready yourself for yet another never-ending wave of gauntlets, determined to push as far as you can and earn whatever rewards you can.
However, something is amiss. A strange pressure permeates throughout this celestial realm. Suddenly, a golden light manifests before you. A voice speaks out, familiar, yet with an authority that seems almost suffocating.
“Thou hast done well.” Arceus manifests from the light, shimmering as it did when you first encountered the ancient deity. “All trials thou hast overcome. Thy bonds with Pokemon run deep and true. Now, the time has come at last. One final trial for thee. One final test. Let us see if thine bonds can overcome the greatest of obstacles!”
Suddenly, all nineteen plates emerge and linger around Arceus. A storm of Unown manifests, and you watch in awe as they surround their maker: the Thousand Arms of Arceus, at last revealing their true power. Golden light envelopes the maker once more, and in a flash, Arceus’s body dissipates. It was only ever an avatar, after-all.
What remains is the ring; that golden ornamentation around Arceus’s torso. The plates converge upon the ring and the Unown vanish. In the center of the ring, now beaming with divine light, you see something: a singular, black pupil gazes down at you. This is Arceus’s true form...
A giant Unown.

I went back to Jubilife Village and I was immediately drawn back home. Inside, I was brought to my bed where I heard a voice. I was then drawn to the space plain where Arceus was. It welcomed me to the Eternal Battle Reverie. Here I got to battle as long as I could against different Pokemon types. If I won a certain amount, I got a wish. I wasn’t really prepared but I was able to win 3 times in a row. When I woke up, I found a Exp. Candy. Nice.

the lore implications of the eternal battle reverie are really funny actually. you do everything for arceus in hopes of getting to go home, it doesnt even offer to take you back, and now every time you sleep in your own bed it torments you with a dream world of gladiatorial matches
#arceus is the funniest mythical.#i did try out a few matches btw i like how you can fight the entire lake trio at the same time thats badass

So I have walked about 8 hours in Volo’s shoes, and I am almost done, but the answers to my questions have only gotten more complicated. Here is what I know so far:
There is no way in goddamn hell that Volo would have been prepared for Arceus at the state he was in at Spear Pillar. that much i know for sure. Level 68 is a long way from the full potential of anything. This might seem obvious, but we have a few more points about this. ⭐ To start with, the Platforming™️ part of Arceus’s fight is not mercy-repeatable. Not even the protagonist gets a second chance at this one, if you want a rematch, it is on One Life. No knockouts. You must assume that Volo is physically fit enough for this if it’s post-game at all. ⭐ The other half of the equation is the Battle. This is only repeatable via the Eternal Reverie, and hoo boy. Worst Case Scenario, Volo might get 1 point or less. Legendaries kick his ass, as they should. Best case ish, is somewhere from 8-11. I’m going to have to work on grinding a lil to get my answer for level 100 Volo team.
Whether or not Volo is a ‘good’ person depends....on his choice of Fight or Catch, imo. Or, an agreeable or workable person. You can literally choose to do either, feasibly, and it paints....a different picture. This is where he gets more complicated.
You see, this game actively rewards you for being merciful, every step of the way. Fighting a Pokemon is harder, it wastes time that could be used gathering precious resources. Plus, catching gives you access to pretty much everything fighting to the end does...except for the pokemon itself. You gain cash from the professor, you gain cash from the catch and release via grit dust, and of course, you can always gain cash by being generous with resources that you don’t want or need. Money is inherently participating in society. I will remind you that Volo’s clothes are expensive. And of course....for what it’s worth, there’s the feeling bad about, oh i dunno, beating the shit out of hundreds of pokemon to the point of shrinking all the way down and running. A temporary home being studied is probably preferable.
So, sneaky catchy Volo who claims to use pokémon as tools, lusts for power. But see, power here is more easily obtained being merciful. It’s a weird loop where the more efficient he is, the more good deeds that he pulls. A primarily nonviolent Volo has some inherent value in every life he comes across......objectively. He will treat every pokémon he comes across very well. He struggles less. It’s like, do you want violence out of love, or mercy out of powerlust? And anything in between. What difference is intent when you get so many actions? The end result? And what of that end result?
And being sneaky in and of itself....sure, it’ll ‘get the jump’ and surprise the shit out of a pokemon when they’re caught. But, also of course allows for more peaceful moments, less attacks, and a quick catch verses running around and stressing a pokémon tf out.
In conclusion, the easiest way to ‘become god’ is to participate with the world, with the world in mind, and be patient. Otherwise you’re in for a hell of a long road.

What goddamn idiot on GameFreak’s payroll thought the Path of Solitude battles were a good idea? I feel like the stress of trying to do that might make me burst like 20 blood vessels in my brain (and that only barely an exaggeration, it’s made my head hurt real bad). I also wish i could delete requests in Pokemon Legends Arceus specifically because of shit like this but alas, now i have fifty or so requests that will never be filled because gf was determined to make this shit unwinnable.
On the flipside, I really like the Path of Tenacity and Eternal Battle Reverie. The former has the decency to let me heal during battle (already a plus) and the latter is just really fun in general and has made me really love Arceus—makes me feel like i’m genuinely bonding with the Pokemon god.

Hi! Here’s a pinned masterpost of all the content I’ve made for this fandom under the cut. Also I have a small tag directory of things to black/whitelist as you see fit.
Also a personal post about my blog
#SUBMAS ANGST is for anything involving sad, potentially upsetting things. Even if it’s funny, or a shitpost. I use this liberally because I want my blog to be for any fan to enjoy!!
#SUBMAS POSITIVITY will be used for any post involving non-angsty content of the boys. Certain things like “Ingo takes care of Emmet with a cold” will still go in here, just no actual angst
#REUNION will be used to tag just that: post-PLA reunion content! Now this one is pretty positive but! Some people may want to block the tag due to the fact that it’s all noncanon and that makes them sad. Or whitelist it. Either way! Reunions will be tagged!
#PLA ERA will be for any and all content during the separation. Either Ingo or Emmet or anyone else. Ingo in Hisui content will all get this tag!
#MINORS STAY BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE is for suggestive content. Once on a very blue moon I may reblog something suggestive, but it has to be funny enough for me to do so. Wanna keep this for all ages! (I am an adult and do swear though, just a heads up.)
Also, ***no blankshippers or anyone like that***. I will block on sight, I swear. This keeps happening. GO AWAY.
Anyways! My content is under the cut :)

“books-are-my-life-stuff: Eternal Battle Reverie is the gauntlet mode that was unlocked after capturing Arceus. You go to bed, then you can choose whether you want to sleep or battle. If you choose the latter, you will wake up in Hall of Origin and Arceus will give you gauntlet challenge. If you can reach 50 win streak, you get to battle Arceus again and I believe you also can get a stamp indicating that you have defeated it in Eternal Battle Reverie.“
No wonder I didn’t know what that was; I haven’t caught Arceus again. I honestly don’t know if I will this run, we’ll see.
“Oh, and also, if you win, you get points that can be used to heal up your team, restore PP, give yourself a challenge or inflict status problems to opponents. All that good and fun stuff!“
Wait, Battle Castle rules?! I loved Battle Castle rules! Okay hang on, now I’m invested.
“The new Kamado and Cyllene interaction happened randomly I think...? You need to approach Galaxy Headquaters and if you see Cyllene and if she stopped you to go for a chat, then from there it's a new interaction. It's pretty interesting!“
I see. We’ll be on the lookout for that one as my wife goes through the game. I’m glad there’s more story stuff. That’s really what I’m invested in.
