“The war is over but the scars don’t fade.”

I always imagined lance would have had really nice skin when he was younger. One of those things that when everyone else started coming into puberty, and everything was different and changing, his clear and soft skin remained. It was a source of confidence and grounding for him. But, he ended up having some pretty gnarly scars after voltron and needed to learn to cope with it. The idea that Lance had to deal with the lose of something he once took great pride in and showed off to the world whenever he had a chance. So not only did he have to bare the memory of war, he had the constant reminder burned onto his skin, and a loss of security he once held close.

Losing a sense of pride and comfort to accept a new normal is never easy.
