really disliking this new corporate strategy of using trans people as marketing (hersheys and now bud light(?????)) where these massive billion dollar brands just expose trans women to the most vile harassment possible while they get to profit off their image and pretend to be progressive. like wow cool you put trans women on your chocolate bar and your beer cans but are you like, doing anything for them and the wider community or are you just parading them around...lol. also it really frustrates me that people will eat this shit up. brands targeting the lgbt community as a marketing demographic is not a good thing, actually. it should piss you off that target sells tshirts with the word queer on it. it should piss you off that hersheys "we use child slave labor" chocolate is trying to target you specifically with their advertisements
#obviously im sure fae and dylan are being paid and i dont think theyre bad for taking the endorsements#but are these companies doing anything else to like. protect them.#it feels so gross and exploitative lol#dylan has already been getting so much online harassment#and after that hersheys womens day ad fae had to like scrub some of her online presence to avoid being doxxed#and for weeks afterwards on twitter people were just being so horrible about her#and hersheys specifically never came back out in support of her#they made a very vague wish washy statement abt ‘inclusion’ where they didnt even mention her or trans women at all lol#like again im sure both women took the endorsement with the knowledge that this would happen#but i do think. as being 'inclusive' has become a clear marketing strategy then these companies#need to be offering more than just money for parading marginalized people around#especially with the. current Political and Social climate. lmfao#idk the hersheys thing really pissed me off earlier this year especially when the company completely failed to really support her#i dont know whats going on behind the scenes but they should have done something publicly anyways#tfw you want to pretend to be progressive but also dont want to completely alienate your bigot customers... lol!#also they only donated 30k for those ads which is less than pennies compared to the 4.4billion they made last year

For those who follow the show…
Do y’all think Druck is getting a third generation?
Because the way y’all have been dragging them..
LMFAO, please don’t get me wrong!
The fandom has rightfully kept a foot on their necks for the past two seasons and it has been truly delightful to watch them get dragged.
But I’m wondering now if production is going to abandon the show bc “the PC PoLicE/SjW WOKIES! won’t shut up😡.”
It’s a shame for the show to end this way b/c S5 & S6 were so well done and S7 was a start despite its many flaws, but if this is the end… 🤷🏾♀️ farewell I guess.
As a side bar that’s loosely related…
Speaking as someone from the U.S., where we’ve been witnessing the political pendulum swing backwards toward conservatism for the past five years, (but it has been truly dark past few months with the roll back on trans and reproductive rights😢), it is a bit worrying to think about the impact this political climate can have on media. Entertainment is seemingly a place where more liberal ideas thrive, but media is also a form of social programming. Our political and social climate will always influence our media, for better or worse.
It’s interesting, then, to consider how Druck’s trajectory in its second generation, but S8 especially, has almost embodied the current regression toward conservatism with some slutshaming/victim blaming attitudes being expressed and the POC characters being sidelined. It makes me curious to see what a third generation would look like, should they choose to do one at all.
I don’t know if anyone else has been feeling/witnessing this shift in their own country’s politics/social climate and I would love to hear any Germans to chime in and express their thoughts on the matter. Do you think any shift or trends in German politics/social attitudes/etc is partially responsible for S8 turning out the way it did? What does everyone else think?
Like another account said on here, we should already be past the kind of conversations/debates that we’re having. Past the kind of storylines and ideas presented in Druck S8. This sort of regression is so jarring b/c I had really thought we’ve moved past this. But alas, here we are. 😪
To wrap this up on a positive note, I’m happy that Druck’s 2nd gen introduced us to such a diverse and talented group of young actors ❤️ I hope for nothing but the best for them in their future endeavors. A round of applause for all their hard work! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.
#druck#druck season 8#druck new gen#sigh 😪#this really is the end of an era#what a crappy way to go out 😕😕#what do you guys think?
