CROSS FIRE: Fist and Fist Ch 3

Adonis: I won’t hold back either. HA―!

Scenario Writer: Kino Seitarou (with Akira) Season: Summer Characters: Kiryu Kuro, Mikejima Madara, Nagumo Tetora, Sazanami Jun, Otogari Adonis

Kuro: Alright. It’s our turn to use the Mixed-Martial Arts gym now.

We’re all done with our warm-ups, so let’s get in the ring.

Tetora: Ossu!

By the way, Taisho, why aren’t you in your Karate uniform? I thought you’d definitely be wearing one since you’re a Karateka!

Kuro: Yeah, about that. I just had a talk with the Little Miss here while you were in the changing room earlier, Tetsu.

Since this practice match will be used as part of the promotions for CROSS FIRE, it’s been decided that a common uniform will be prepared—

—for our BUTOUKAI members to wear so that any and all of us will be able to go into the ring and fight. I think we’re expected to be decked out in that attire whenever there’s a need for publicity.

Tetora: Woah~! Big Sis Anzu, were you actually here all along?! Uuuu~ You should’ve told us you’d be coming! I would’ve had some refreshments prepared to receive you if only you had!

Kuro: Ahaha. She probably didn’t want us to go to all that trouble fer her.

That bein’ said, thanks for making time to come visit us when you’re so busy, Little Miss, but—you did say you were here at the Gym since mornin’, so that means you were able to watch the Inexperienced Trio while they were trainin’, right?

Hmm, I see. You were observin’ them from halfway through their session, but have been asked to keep what they were doin’ a secret, huh?

It’s fine, that’s only to be expected. Especially since this is Mikejima we’re talkin’ about—you can’t tell just by lookin’ at him, but he’s always got his bases covered.

He definitely knows the Karate Club will have the advantage if we were to face off in a by-the-book battle, so he’s probably prepared a few aces up his sleeve, am I right?

… … Fufu. From the look on yer face, it seems my guess was right on the money.

Even so, there’s no need fer you to worry. It doesn’t matter what kind of strategy Mikejima comes up with, I’ll take ‘em all down.

Tetora: You’re so cool, Taisho! That’s why you’re the former Taisho of the Karate Club!

Let’s get into the ring right away!

Kuro: Alright. I’ll be counting on ya.

Tetora: … …!

Kuro: … … … …

(... … Well then. This is the first match I’ve had in a long while, the first since I retired from the Karate Club, in fact.

My skills were better than Tetsu’s back when I was still in school, but how about now? I don’t know how dull my fighting sense has gotten since then, but let’s give it a shot.)

Kuro: HA—!

Tetora: … …!

(Ohhh. I expected it, but Taisho’s punches are powerful indeed. Even though I blocked it perfectly with my arm, my body’s still tingling from the shock.

However, I’ve been training hard everyday as the current Captain of the Karate Club too!

Taisho’s someone whom I admire very much, but even so, I won’t shrink back because of that!)

Take thaaat!

Kuro: Hoh~. That was a good roundhouse kick, Tetsu—

But it’s way too shallow to count as a decisive blow. You’ve got to come at me with more conviction than that!

Tetora: Of course! That goes for you as well, Taisho! Don’t hold back when you come at me!

<Meanwhile… …>

Madara: We’re into the second half of today’s training now. The weather’s still pretty hot for autumn, so do take precautions to avoid heat stroke even as you go all out for training!

Adonis-san, were you able to prepare the items I’d asked for?

Adonis: Yes. I managed to borrow the hardballs you wanted from the local baseball club.

They kindly lent us these to us after Sazanami and I went to negotiate with them.

Jun: Hehe~ Those guys were pretty accommodating, weren’t they? They even said we could use them however we wanted to as long as they’re properly returned afterwards.

By the way, isn’t it about time you told us what we're gonna do next? Why did you ask us to prepare these baseballs?

I can’t see how this has anything to do with Mixed-Martial Arts training at all, though… …

Madara: Oh, regarding that… Do you remember I spoke about how Karate is strong because of its focus on fundamentals and basics?

Jun: Yes, about how being simple is its strength, right~? And that’s why you’d need to use irregular attacks for the element of surprise――

Could it be that these hardballs are also part of your preparations to rattle your opponent?

Madara: You’ve guessed it right! That said, it’s forbidden to bring weapons into the ring, so I won’t be using these hardballs to attack thoughhh!

Adonis-san, please throw those balls at me—as hard as you can.

Adonis: Throw them at you?

Madara: Yep! You don’t have to hold back at all. Throw ‘em with everything you’ve got!

Adonis: Got it. Do be careful not to get hurt, Mikejima-senpai.

Hngh―!

Madara: Oh~h! Excellent throw!

―And I’ll wait till the very laaast moment―and dodge it! Fufu~n!

… … So, one segment of training will be dedicated to dodging balls like these. By letting my eyes be used to tracking these fastballs, I’ll be able to avoid getting hit by Kuro-san’s powerful punches!

Jun: Hm~m, so that’s what you wanted them for~. You’re simulating an actual combat experience by using these balls to stand in for the opponent’s punches, huh?

Well, it’s true that even if you were to defend yourself from Karate’s straight punches with blocks, your guard would still be worn away. Dodging them would be the best option by far~!

Madara: Yes, it’s great you get my intention so clearlyyy!

However, if Adonis-san’s the only one doing the throwing, it’ll never match up to the attack rate of an actual battle. Jun-san, could you join Adonis-san in throwing those balls at me~?

Jun: Sure thing~. This is like a training scene straight out of a manga (1), it’s getting fun~ ♪

Let’s defeat the Karate Club soundly with the flexible thinking unique to those who’ve got zero experience!

Here I go~! Take THAT!

Adonis: I won’t hold back either. HA―!

Madara: Fufufu~. You’ve gotta do better than that~! That didn’t even graze meee!

Let’s keep up the training at this pace~! As long as one is fully prepared, there’ll be nothing to fear from Kuro-san!

So maybe this will make you feel better - I'm a 29 year old woman, a math teacher, and I just became a Ninjago fan, like, a year ago!

I have two brothers and two sisters, but it wasn't my brothers who were into the show (not their kind of thing, one's more into DC heroes stuff and the other is into very obscure weird stuff), and anyway we were already in high school when Ninjago first started airing, so not really part of the age demographic for it. My little sisters, however, watched the show on TV and they got really into it. I, sorry to say, kind of dismissed the show entirely due to it being a Lego show (I used to say stuff like "Isn't this just basically Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but Lego? Why do they have to be Legos??") but I don't think I honestly ever thought of it as a "boy's show". More like a kid's show without any real quality or substance.

The show first really caught my attention while my sisters were watching season 6 episodes and I saw that Cole was still a ghost (I'd been in the room when they'd first watched the episode where he turned into one), and I was shocked when they told me he'd never turned back. I was impressed that a kid's show had given one of the main characters such a consequence and actually stuck with it, rather than fixing the problem immediately or by the end of the season. It sounded surprisingly dark and angsty (and it made Cole my unofficial favorite ninja for awhile before I ever even watched the show from the beginning haha). I still never sat down to watch the show proper, but hearing my sisters talk about it I could see I'd probably been a bit too judgmental of how it looked (they absolutely LOVED Skybound and talked about it extensively, so I knew a lot about what happened in that season too and it also sounded fun [and I know Skybound is unpopular in the fandom but honestly screw that, I still think it's one of the best seasons!].)

Anyway I never ended up watching full episodes or anything, and after the movie came out (which my sisters and I watched in cinema together) my sisters kinda dropped the show because of a combination of not liking the new designs of the characters, changes to the story (or what they assumed were a lot of changes to the story to fit the movie), and our TV channel service not putting the show on anymore. They never forgot it though.

Cut to some years later, the younger of my sisters is in high school and the other one's in uni, and I've been teaching for several years, but all three of us are still as obsessed with cartoons and anime as ever, and we make a habit of binge-watching any new franchise or show that looks interesting. In March 2023 we watched Lego Monkie Kid season 4 and had to wait for the special to come out, and I guess it being a Lego show put my sisters back in the mood for Ninjago. They'd always talked about going back to it and watching it from the beginning, and continuing past Skybound where they'd left it.

I'll be honest, I kinda fell asleep through the first episode and that made me decide maybe the show just wasn't for me. I'd catch the odd episode here and there as my sisters continued their binge though, and I will say, personally, I liked the boy's vibes it gave in those early seasons (they reminded me a lot of Power Rangers, which one of my brothers loved when he was little; same kind of out-of-pocket goofiness, especially with the snakes ahaha). I got interested again in watching the show during season 3 (I knew Zane died at the end of that season and told my sisters to let me know when they reached that episode), and then from the first episode of season 4 onwards, the show had me; by now I was familiar with the characters, I loved the whole idea of the Tournament of Elements arc (reminded me of tournament arcs in anime), and then season 5 was even better, and Skybound was like, even better than that (my jaw literally DROPPED when Jay read the letter after his first wish saying his dad had died... again like, dang, I wasn't used to this kind of thing being in a KID'S show!)

After my sisters and I completed the whole show up to Crystalized (plus all the shorts and specials), I went back and watched the first two seasons again on my own and had a much better appreciation for them. Again I don't think I ever consciously thought of it as a "boy's show", but even if I had, that wouldn't have stopped me from watching it. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with a show being more geared towards one gender over the other, or that a girl shouldn't enjoy a "boy's show" any more than a boy couldn't enjoy a "girl's show" (witness the era of the Bronies!). Or, for that matter, that an adult can't enjoy shows meant for kids. Do I feel a little embarrassment for being an adult and enjoying obsessing over a show like Ninjago? Well, yeah, I would be around certain people - I wouldn't really want my parallel teachers at school to know about it (though I did find out one of them is an anime fan like me!), but IF it was ever found out, I wouldn't be outright mortified or anything. I consider watching cartoons as my own quirky little personality trait that isn't necessary to mention in casual conversation, but that a person is welcome to discover on their own and make of it what they will.

As far as hiding it from family members goes, you can see I was blessed with siblings I'm very close to (my sisters both being almost a whole decade younger I practically raised them to be as into fiction as I am), but I did used to watch stuff in secret when it was just my brothers and I (oh my, the days when I used to sneak downstairs after bedtime with a pair of earphones to watch Sonic X episodes on YouTube on my dad's laptop in the dark!). As we got older though I stopped minding their teasing of my interests, especially after they developed fixations of their own (and also moved out of the house XD). If it's something that makes you happy and gives you harmless comfort, nothing should make you feel ashamed of enjoying it. Your family might think it's weird at first but they'll gradually accept it. And as for classmates, it's not impossible that at least one of them is secretly in love with Ninjago too!

Females of the Ninjago fandom, I have a couple of questions as a girl myself...

How did you discover the show? And how many people in your personal lives know that you're fans?

I don't mean to be discriminatory, but I feel that it's obvious that Ninjago, at least initially, was intended for boys. That too, little boys. Like kids aged about 6-12 or something.

But here, however, I've seen many girls (or women) into Ninjago. And I'm a fifteen year old girl who writes a lot of Ninjago fanfiction. But the thing is, in real life, nobody knows about my Ninjago obsession. (Well except for my best friend who's never even seen the show.)

And if someone from my family found out about my ao3 or tumblr account I will die of humiliation.

I started watching the show with my siblings, but they're not interested in it anymore. But I still am and they don't know that. Hell, they don't even know I was ever interested in it.

Today I was at home alone, so I managed to watch an episode of Ninjago successfully. Maybe someday I'll do it again.

Jun: Nah~ Elites like you guys probably have no idea about this...

But when it comes to the CosPro-affiliated schools, it was usually the duty of underlings to do such servile work, while Special Students were spared from it.

So I guess I do it out of habit, kinda like something I just go along with... After all, doing as the missus says puts him in a good mood.

Ibara: That’s perfectly fine with me ♪ Please continue keeping His Highness in a good mood, just like that. If something isn’t done about his condition, we may be affected detrimentally later o— oh?

Jun: Mm. I was wondering who you were calling "Producer" — so it's Anzu-san, huh?

There's a whole bunch of folks with that title in the ES Building, especially the Producer Association... It feels like it'd be kinda easy to mix 'em up that way, no?

Ibara: Ahaha, that’s correct. I, too, have the title of Producer!

It can get quite confusing when Producer-do— Anzu-san and I are present at the same meeting!

Jun: Then why not just call her by her name?

It doesn't feel that great being referred to by just your title, don'tcha think~? It's like someone yelling to us like "Hey! You there, idol!", isn't it?

Ibara: Who knows? I wasn’t the one who proclaimed that we should refer to Anzu-san as “Producer”.

I cannot say that I’m well-versed in the inner workings of His Eminence Eichi’s mind. Perhaps he wanted us to refrain from being overly-familiar with each other lest we damage our reputations.

Jun: Hm? Why're you laughing, Anzu-san?

— Wait, sorry, I totally forgot to greet you! Good morning! All the best with your work today, Anzu-san!

Ibara: Agh!? Good grief, it’s wonderful to see that you’re minding your manners, but we’re currently inside a rather cramped elevator! Please refrain from flailing about so wildly — you were a hair’s breadth away from headbutting me, I’ll have you know!

Jun: Ahaha. Yeah, but it's no sweat for you to dodge stuff like that, right?

Mm? Ahh, I noticed you've been in a pretty good mood this morning, Anzu-san...

But maybe it's 'cause you're finding it a fun change to see us have an ordinary convo like this for once~?

Jun: What a workaholic. ...You'll be fine since you're trained up and all, Ibara, but please have some consideration for Anzu-san's health, alright~ Both physically and mentally — it's almost the season for the May blues, after all.

Ahh— you're quick to catch wind of things, as always~ So you've heard about the chaos we've been thrown into thanks to Conquest, huh?

Ibara: Fufu. None of Eden would be affected by phenomena like the May blues in the slightest.

But, well, it is the season of great change; it brings with it an endless amount of problems.

What was that? You’d like to know if there’s anything you can help with?

Fret not, your feelings are more than enough!

I, Ibara Saegusa, am truly moved by your kindness and consideration, Anzu-san! Why, I can hardly hold back my tears!

Anyways. I more or less pay no mind to what other idols choose to do, but…

Eden is the sole unit that I toiled over, that I raised from the ground up. And as such, I am somewhat attached to it; I wouldn’t allow even you to meddle in our affairs.

But please be at ease. I have immersed myself in the world of management and producing for far longer than you have — I am nothing short of an experienced businessman.

congrats on graduation!! What are you up to nowadays?

thank you so much!! continuing from my last two life updates (here and here):

i’ve unfortunately semi-lost my substitute teaching job. all schools in my area are closed for the rest of this school year due to coronavirus, so i’ve been unable to teach since the middle of last month. i’ll be back to teaching once this is all over, though!

thankfully, i still have my other job, but everyone’s hours have been cut significantly (again, due to coronavirus). i now work a little less than half of what i used to ;;

i recently had a dry cough and was sick for about 2 weeks. i’m not sure if it was related to the virus, but i’m okay now :)

i’m currently on a short break from work. i’ve been staying home; i haven’t gone outside in 2 weeks. i’ll be back to work this friday.

i study korean in my free time. i recently finished reviewing everything i learned during the fall 2018 semester (korean 1A). i want to start reviewing korean 1B this week!

after watching a very cheesy but wholesome rom-com j-drama (a girl & three sweethearts), i felt motivated to get back into studying japanese again! i started following @/hinative_jp on instagram, so i’ve picked up a few useful phrases here and there over the past few days. slowly, but surely, i’ll fully get back into it :D

i work on music whenever i can. learning, listening, practicing, composing, improvising…just trying to stay in touch so that i don’t forget what i learned in uni, y’know?

i’ve been playing animal crossing: new horizons! it’s so fun and wholesome. from what i’ve seen, a lot of other players seem to be rushed to expand their houses and terraform their islands and create their towns, but i’m just out here taking my time lol. june is my favorite villager so far, if anyone was wondering. she’s the sweetest little cub and i love her a lot!!

picked up a new hobby: sewing! my mom taught me the basics, and i enjoy it very much. i made my own face mask with some scrap fabric, and i accidentally stabbed my thumb with the needle in the process lol, but i’m really happy with how it turned out! i’ll wear it the next time i go outside :)

i cried over the most recent episode of haikyuu and now i gotta wait until july for season 4 to continue. at least we don’t have to wait 4 years, ahaha (haikyuu fans know what i mean). also! i am,,,,,very soft,,,,,for the miya twins :((( you can’t make me choose which one i like better. atsumu and osamu are both good and cute boys.

also cried over the last episode of boku no hero academia. it was very emotional! now we have to wait a while until season 5 comes out ;;

i haven’t read anything new lately, but my brother lent me his copy of how to win friends & influence people by dale carnegie. i plan to read it soon, and i hope i’ll be better at communicating with people after i finish reading it!

super excited for day6, chungha, nct dream, and astro’s comebacks!!

i’ve been thinking a lot about the future. other jobs, grad school, potential career paths…it’s stressful, especially now that we’re in a crisis and everything seems so uncertain. i’ll figure things out eventually. for now, i’m trying my best to be present and focus on one thing at a time. baby steps are okay, too.

tl;dr: kinda lost one job but still have the other, was sick for a while but i’m good now, studying korean and japanese, working on music, playing acnh, learning how to sew, crying over anime, gonna read when i get a chance, hyped for some very exciting kpop comebacks, and thinking about the future.

[btvs] in bloom (8,452 words) this was SUPPOSED to be the end of the jenny-anya-tara trilogy. it was not. (more on that later.) this was also supposed to be a fic where giles and jenny get together. jenny and anya got together. writing things is wild sometimes.

[btvs] i still want to be your girl (35,165 words) straight up i am so proud of this fic! s7 au: jenny was chased out of town by angelus. giles does not know this. jenny has been working with angel in la, but left with faith to try and help defeat the first. giles is not the guy she remembers. (but jenny’s not exactly the lady giles remembers, either. so maybe things might work out.)

[btvs/leverage crossover] what’s in a name (4,421 words) sophie’s & jenny’s relationship to their names & identities always so totally fascinated me! this fic was my way of exploring that. (also i got to give giles and jenny a toddler. that was fun too.)

[btvs comics] live a little (6,700 words) i had so much fun coming up with a backstory for giles and jenny in the comics that i am kinda tempted to eventually try and do it again. this one was fun to write, tho.

[btvs] kind of like hydrogen peroxide (7,501 words) THIS was FUN. ripper au, but it explores both jenny’s longing for High School Normalcy AND ripper’s fucked-up relationship to magic. also senior prom is a thing.

[btvs] mending fences (6,093 words) sequel to the aforementioned epistolary fic! lots of first-person self-loathing from giles, but also a LOT of love for jenny and his kids. also the man really truly needs to stop repressing.

[btvs] her father’s daughter (1,982 words) 2020 will bring us another chapter of this fic i swear to GOD. literally there’s only one chapter up so i cannot even TALK about my plans for it but uhhh if you want giles and jenny and their three daughters pls feel free to go to that prologue and check it out.

[btvs] a thousand different ways we fell apart (4,888 words) the au fic to encompass all au fics! inspired by the comic reboot and me being like. christ. do they go through this ridiculous shit in EVERY universe? ....and then i wrote a fic where jenny was a space traveler looking through multiple universe to try and fix her marriage with giles. extra fun.

[miss fisher’s murder mysteries] unbearable (5,670 words) i need to write more mfmm in 2020 but the amount of good fic out there is deeply intimidating/delightful. this one was my little “what if it was phryne who thought jack was dead” and tbqh i had a lot of fun with it? bc pining phryne (who makes brief but extremely poignant appearances throughout the series) is an awkwardly, heart-meltingly sincere lady.

[ace attorney] man’s duty to society (544 words) wrote this as my first foray into aa fic while getting emo about miles edgeworth. would absolutely still die for that man.

[ace attorney] fancy running into you (5,887 words) lots of schmoopy narumitsu fluff! gregory edgeworth is alive! miles is trauma-free! phoenix is an artist! just!!! goodness!!!!!!!

[ace attorney] big sister (2,741 words) set in the same gregory-edgeworth-is-alive ‘verse: babey franziska comes to live with miles and his dad. she is a little impossible but miles kinda does love her.

[ace attorney] prince charming edgeworth and his incredible tux (8,042 words) this fic came from me being like “i want to write phoenix swooning over miles in a tuxedo and being like HE LOOKS LIKE A DISNEY PRINCE” and spiraled into something much longer!

Do You Plan to Take Prompts in 2020? always always yes! (i’m bad at following through with them, but am ALWAYS accepting them.)

What was the best thing about 2019? there were almost too many good things to COUNT, but i think all of them were made possible by me working extremely hard to get myself the FUCK out of my abusive parents’ house and into my first choice college!! i’m thriving, y’all.

What was the worst thing about 2019? realizing that both of my parents are fundamentally terrible people. that part kinda sucked.

Any last thoughts for 2019? i finally understand what it’s like to fall asleep feeling safe, and to notice the way the leaves change color, and to get excited about self-indulgent things like food and cuddly stuffed animals and my own fic and art. 2019 brought a lot of happiness into my life, and oh yeah also i’m in love! lots of cool stuff going on.

Because Jason and I fucking binged it, and I honestly think that's partially the reason I don't even enjoy TV anymore. Like I liked the show, but jfc it became torture at some point. Not his fault at all, I just never pointed it out. BUT ANYWAY, it's definitely possible we did. What did you have for dinner tonight (or last night)? A ham and cheese hot pocket. Do your parents do things that ‘embarrass’ you? This is so mean, but my mom makes the cringiest jokes and such imo that gives me mad secondhand embarrassment. Do you like any Bon Jovi songs? Yeah, a decent handful. Who was the last person you were in a car with? Mom. Do you give people second chances? Ha, more than "second." How’re things between you and your most recent ex? AMA TRANSCRIPT: Fake News!

In our first AMA of the season, @trueeasiann answered questions about her Resbang, Fake News! Read all the insider info below!

Q: First of all, because I’m always curious about what inspired stuff, what gave you the idea to write this resbang and put it in an office setting?

Whinnie: Hmm that's a good question lmao. I know there are quite a few soma office AUs out there but they seemed very 'corporate' and I wanted to explore an office environment that's a little more different? Also, I’m very biased but I work in tech LMAO... and I wanted to share some of the fun(ny) experiences I’ve had with my coworkers!

Q: By any chance... was a real experience playing ping pong with a coworker? I was very amused at Patty whooping Blackstar ahaha

Whinnie: Lmao yes I love working in tech! I've had the honour of getting the chance to work in both a smaller startup environment and a larger corporation, and the startup experience is just so much better because it's more flexible, less redundant, and I find you have more freedom to get things done. The dialogue during the ping pong isn't exact but yes, my friends at work do play a lot of ping pong and there is a lot of smack talking and I have one friend who randomly yells out from time to time while playing (or talking in general lmao) and he really reminds me of Blackstar HAHA.

Q: Did you have a favorite scene or scenes to write?

Whinnie: I really enjoyed writing the ramen scene, where Soul and Maka first get to really know each other outside of work. The dialogue came really easy to me for that, but I also enjoyed writing the coffee shop conversation between Black Star and Maka. Re-reading that scene now gives me a laugh at all the ridiculous stuff I made BS say lmao.

Q: I really enjoyed the sorta sibling vibes that Maka and Star convos had. He is always so extra.

Whinnie: I know it's kind of an overdone trope, to make Maka and BlackStar childhood friends or friends that know each other from way back (in this case, from college), but I feel like that's the only reason Maka puts up with him HAHA.

Q: You mentioned in your footnote at the end that this was your first fandom event. did the event schedule affect your usual writing habits at all, or your process for how you put it all together?

Whinnie: Well, before this, I hadn't written for like 4 or 5 years LOL. So I didn't really have any writing habits that were affected? But this was my first time writing on a deadline, and my first time writing a full multi-chapter story (as I like to stick to one-shots) so this was the first time where I started way "ahead" of time (I say ahead in quotations because my time of perception is really off lmao and I always end up starting stuff late anyway) this was also the first time where I was writing while juggling other things. I had my full-time job and also some other extracurriculars that I had to maintain. It's not as easy as writing in high school where you can just write all day LOL and not worry about putting dinner on the table or waking yourself on time the next morning for work. So I would do like work until 6 pm, come back and eat dinner, maybe catch up on some other things like messages, and then write until 3 or 4 or 5 in the morning lol because that was the only free time I had.

Question: When I read that footnote about writing in a car during your friend's wedding to make a deadline, I was floored!

Whinnie: LMFAOOOO yeah that was a wild time. so the wedding was actually one of my old coworker's and I got a ride with my other coworker and his GF. And when we arrived I was like "Ummmm I'm still not done so I'm gonna have to ask you something weird. Can you just lock me in the car and I'll come in like 10 mins?" LOOOL… But also part of it was my fault with, again, not budgeting enough time for myself. Like, I didn't start regularly working on my resbang until December. So for that whole month leading up to my posting date, I just didn't have a social life LMAO. And I also ended up taking the day before my posting date and my posting date itself off work because I knew I would stay up all night finishing it LOOOL. I also hope I never have to do that again LOOOL. It was really rough And I have a really bad habit from high school of staying up late and not getting enough sleep and so I kind of reverted back to that schedule… even now that resbang is done.

Q: Yeah, this sounds like it was a good learning experience at least! About your limits, how quickly you work, etc… And oh no, sounds like the habit tracker Soul and Maka did might be something to use!

Whinnie: YES, absolutely haha. I saw that while I was browsing Reddit and thought it was really cool, and I thought that if people are going to read my fic, I might as well offer them something useful as well haha.

Q: Did you know where you wanted the fic to go or did you kind of let it all happen as it went?

Whinnie: Hmmmm, well obviously Soul and Maka getting together was the end goal and I knew that I wanted to write it from Maka's POV (since I find that a lot of fics are written from Soul's or a mix of both), and that I wanted it to be relatable. So I thought it was plausible that both of them would bond over their shared imposter syndrome. And I did have an outline but it was very high level and vague, so I ended up adding more stuff. I also didn't want there to be any awkward jumps, like "wow one second she hated his guts and now she likes him?" so the granola bar scene, that wasn't what I originally intended on adding but it made more sense to have it before the ramen scene. I did want to add more to the ending like a scene of Soul and Maka just living life together after confessing to each other. But alas I didn't have enough time.

Q: I also really liked how you wrote Maka as bi! there seems to be a large chunk of fandom that writes her as Ace, so it was neat to see her thru another LGBTQ lens. did you always want to write her as bi, or did that come along after you'd started?

Whinnie: Thank you! Yes, I did notice that as well, and I can definitely see her as Ace and not interested in anything sexual at all -- or heck, even Demi (which I did write her as in my other recent fic.) But I was surprised that no one has written her as bi, or even in any serious yuri relationships let alone in a relationship with Tsugumi (especially since Tsugumi seems to really like and look up to Maka LOL) so I thought that would be interesting to explore. Especially since I also identify as bi.

Q: Do you have any other Soul Eater writing in the works?

Whinnie: Well I have some vague ideas, but not right now -- after resbang came the "resbangover" (resbang hangover) LMAO and I wanted to delve back into some of my other hobbies like music, so I've been taking a break from writing fic. But who knows, maybe I will write again soon... I do want to participate in Soul/Maka week!

Ahhh I’ve actually been quite excited for the recent release of Daily Life of the Immortal King season 3 so I couldn’t help but immediately think of its protagonist, Wang Ling. 🙈

Man literally is powerful enough to destroy worlds and create new ones, cause huge environmental disasters, stop baddies with just a touch or flick of his finger etc… Like even a burst of his spiritual energy is enough to decimate a city or even imbue objects with life.

But because he’s so strong, the intensity of his powers could wipe out the entire planet, which is why he’s forced to suppress himself with seals and cultivation-lowering pills.

They also dampen his emotions, causing him to come across as a really emotionless guy who is very stoic and/or uninterested in those around him. This creates intriguing plot ideas and character dynamics, since people may think he doesn’t care. As a result, when his seal weakens enough for emotions to finally leak out, he actually feels pretty aggrieved by others’ assumptions and misunderstandings about him. It’s honestly kind of sad but like, in an endearing way, since it invokes pity for him. ;w;

Plus when his abilities are suppressed, he’s just a regular teen student who’s unfortunately known as “level 5 trash” for remaining so “weak” and thus unremarkable.

Even his design screams “generic anime protagonist,” which is a fun detail I appreciate. The other design detail I enjoy is how he’s usually depicted in his school uniform (the blue tracksuit). Truly, truly unremarkable at first glance—but he does have the red eyes to make him stand out somewhat from other generic anime males, which I think is a fairly clever design choice to make him slightly distinct ahaha.

And…when the seal is weak enough and he does get to show emotion…

He’s…honestly really cute…? 🥺

Like he gets shy over smiling and he really cares about and wants to protect the girl he likes and he smiles pretty easily and softly and he appreciates his friends and he just seems so happy that he finally gets to express himself.

So yeah. I wanted to mention him FNSKFNSKSB. I don’t think this series is perfect, although I do enjoy the donghua (animated adaptation), and it is quite funny. I also care about the characters and I look forward to seeing how Sun Rong and Wang Ling’s relationship develops—I definitely hope we get to see him show more emotion over time because I feel bad for him and those around him that he’s always keeping that side of himself locked up. Especially since if he were to let it free, it’d be dangerous for the world. 😭

Oh, also this is where I’d usually add other donghua or danmei or manhua etc characters who also fit the bill… For example, maybe Wei Wuxian after becoming Mo Xuanyu or Mo Ran after going from Taxian-jun back to his younger self (although in their cases, they both got weaker due to new body/time travel). There’s also perhaps Yang Jian from the latest New Gods movie or Jiang Ziya from his titular movie… Or Pixiu from Pixiu’s Eatery: No Way Out; Guanyin from Fei Ren Zai; Yi Kui from Your Dream is Delicious; Yue Jian from My Little Secret With the Demon Lord; Ye Xiu from The King’s Avatar (in the sense he’s the most powerful in the game and no one knows who he really is because he’s just some guy irl); Seven from Scissor Seven (in the sense everyone forgot who he was after he got amnesia and became different); Tushan Susu because she’s essentially Tushan Honghong in Fox Spirit Matchmaker; maaaybe Zhou Zishu from Word of Honor; or Xiao Lanhua from Love Between Fairy and Devil; Laojun from Luo Xiaohei after the events of Lanxi Zhen, or even Cui Bei from White Cat Legend in the sense his bad luck kind of makes him unbeatable; etc…

So yeah. There are definitely more examples in Chinese media than I could remember at first. 😆

But I wanted to give some spotlight to Wang Ling~ And as usual, sorry for rambling! I never can resist NGMSHDKSHS.

ahaha I've considered writing for it but I have too many other projects going on! I enjoy it a lot though, especially considering I was VERY into Supernatural back in the day (like, that was my JAM in middle school and yes. yes i did ship destiel. i cosplayed dean. we don’t talk about this). So it makes me happy to see @lightningstrikes-art & @pining-sheith combining something I once loved and something I love dearly now.

I also know all the Supernatural lore lol SO I suppose it would be quite easy for me if I did end up writing it, but people are coming up with some pretty excellent content for the au and I know @pining-sheith is planning on posting a fic for it in October aka Halloween Season, so for now I’m content to sit back and let other people make awesome content :)

Dance with Devils: My Carol - Natsumezaka Shiki - Human Ending 1 After story: Alone with him in one house?!

It’s a special present for my dear @violet-sin, happy birthday! ;D

In DwD My carol there is an after-story to each ending from the original game. I decided to translate a story that takes place after Shiki’s first human ending, so “the best” ending.

I’ll add some screenshots later~ ;D

Shiki: We were so focused that it has already gotten pretty late. Ritsuka: You're right. We should hurry up and go home. For now, I'll send a message to mom. Time flew in the blink of an eye in the club. I felt inspiration today, so I wasn't looking at clock. Shiki: I'm the same. Art club is a lot of fun. And you're there too. Ritsuka: (Right, Shiki was a member of the art club too.) (He wasn't coming often, so I didn't even notice he was in the same club...) Shiki, you're really good at drawing. I admire you. Shiki: Really? I think that your paintings are able to move a heart. They have warmth. Ritsuka: Warmth? Shiki: Should I say they are warm? They have a fleeting warm feeling coming from them. I'm sure that other people can't paint like that. Ritsuka: It makes me blush, when you praise me like this. But thank you. Your paintings are full of freedom and airiness. They feel so clear. Shiki: Really? I can't tell myself. But I think I can understand that. Free and clear... It sounds like you. Ritsuka: Eh? Why me? Shiki: Because now I'm creating a painting modelled on you. Ritsuka: Eh?! I've never heard about that. Shiki: Because I didn't tell you. Ritsuka: Because you didn't tell me, huh... In the first place, why me?! Shiki: Because you're the best theme. When I'm with you, I always feel like I can fly through the clear sky on my wings. Though I don't have wings anymore. Ritsuka: Ah... (Shiki's wings...) Shiki was a fallen angel. In the past he was flying through the sky on his wings. But he fought with all his might to protect me and other people from the Grimoire and angels... and died. Ritsuka: (When I think about that moment, my heart still hurts.) (Shiki, who died to protect so many people, was reborn as an angel.) (But he chose to live as a human and stay by my side.) We live at the same house, go to the same school... That's a really normal human life. But for me and Shiki those days are like a miracle. Shiki: ...Hm? Do I have something on my face? Ritsuka: No, it's nothing. Shiki: Then why are smiling so happily? Ritsuka: Eh, was I smiling?! Shiki: You still are. It's all over your face. Well, I can imagine what you were thinking about. Ritsuka: Then you don't have to ask. Shiki: You're cute, when you're embarrassed. So I couldn't help myself. Ritsuka: Geez... (He still likes to tease me like that!) (But I'm glad we can spend every day like this.)

Ritsuka: I'm home~ Shiki: We're back. Lindo: YOU'RE LATE!! Ritsuka: Brother...! Shiki: I didn't think you would lie in wait in front of the doors. Lindo: That's not important. Where were you wandering about until such an hour? Ritsuka: We stayed longer in the club... I'm sorry. (Oh dear, I should have mailed brother first instead of mom.) Lindo: Geez, I was worried that something happened. Shiki: I'm with her, so you don't have to worry. Lindo: It's because you're with her that I can't feel at ease! Even if those were only club activities, I should have watched over you from the shadow. Ritsuka: Brother. I told you, right? If you do something like this, I'll break all ties with you! Lindo: Uhh... Shiki: Oh, he calmed down. You can't bear the thought of Ritsuka hating you, huh, brother? Lindo: I don't want you to call me "brother"! Maria: Oh, I thought it got pretty lively. So you came back. Lindo, don't be so angry. Let's eat dinner together since we're all here. Lindo: ...I get it. Shiki: Maman is the strongest, huh. Ritsuka: Fufu, you're right. Shiki is already in better terms with my brother, who was rejecting him at first. Well, if I can really call it being in better terms...

Ritsuka: Brother, today's omelet rice is really delicious. You got better at cooking again. Maria: I'm such a blessed mother to have a son who know how to cook. I'm not as good as brother yet, but I'm glad you liked it. Shiki: You're not losing to Lindo. I like your seasoning better. I'd like to eat it everyday. Ritsuka: ...! (Everyday, sounds like we're newly-wed... But if he eats it so happily, it can be nice to make dinner for Shiki.) (No, wait, wait! Don't think about weird things, only because we're alone now.) I'll accept your offer then.

Ritsuka: Bath... you can take it first. Shiki: Really? But you did a lot of cleaning today, aren't you tired? Ritsuka: It's alright. You did a lot more physical work than me, so take a bath and wash off your sweat. Shiki: Okay, I get it. So I'm going first.

Ritsuka: ...Fuu. (It's bad... When he mentioned bath, my reaction was weird. I have to calm down...) (We're living together, so something like that happened before. There is no need to be nervous.) (Shiki likes sofa in the living room, so he always sleeps here... It's not like we're going to sleep in the same room.) Yeah, it's okay. Like always, like always. (When Shiki finishes taking a bath, I'll wash myself and go to bed.)

Ritsuka: Ah~ it was a nice bath... (Huh? Living room is dark. Is Shiki already sleeping...?) (He must have been tired. He was helping all day. I don't want to wake him up...) Goodnight, Shiki...

Ritsuka: (It was a long day. I have a feeling that I was stressing about weird things.) (Let's just go to sleep now. Without thinking about unnecessary things!)

Sorry, I haven't thought you'll be so surprised. Ritsuka: W-Why are you here, Shiki...? In my bed?! Shiki: Because your brother was worrying. I thought it's better to sleep together, if I want to protect you. Ritsuka: Eh, but it's just. Sleeping together is too soon for us... We've just started dating...! Shiki: Hmmm...? Hey, don't say such cold words. We're all alone now, so let's do something fun. Ritsuka: (He grabbed my hand! I can't run away now?!) Hey, wait...! Shiki: You don't have to worry. No one will come. I'm going to give you a lot of love... Ritsuka: N-No... (Shiki's face is getting closer...!) Shiki: ...Haha. Ahahaha. Ritsuka: Eh? Shiki: Sorry. I haven't thought you will take it so serious. I was only joking. Ritsuka: J-Joking? Shiki: Because you were acting weird today. I noticed that you were strangely aware of this situation. Ritsuka: (He noticed?!) Shiki: So I felt like teasing you. Your face is all red. Ritsuka: You were waiting in my bed for, you know, different reason...? Shiki: You don't have to worry. I really just planned to sleep next to you. I see... Thank you. I'm happy that you told me about your feelings. I'm sorry I was acting weird today. Shiki: Don't worry about it. It was interesting, so I even thought about leaving you at it a little longer. Ritsuka: Uh... Give me a break. (This part of him didn't change. But...) Today was tiring, let's sleep? Shiki: ...Yeah. Shiki, smiling in the darkness, had a lot gentler eyes than in the past.

While being in a gentle doze, I heard a kind voice. Shiki: Thank you... for falling in love with me-

(Voice 1: This bed is comfortable after all. Because you're beside me. Today I'm sure I'll see nice dreams. Voice 1: Come closer. We were be able to sleep better like this. I'm sure of it.)

A few days later- Maria: We're home- Ritsuka: Welcome back! Maria: Home is the best after all. I feel at ease here. Ritsuka: How was your trip? Maria: Thanks to Lindo I was able to get informations without any problems. How about you? Ritsuka: Shiki helped me with home works, so we were fine. Lindo: Really nothing happened?! Ritsuka: ...R-Really. Brother, you worry too much. (It’s nothing to be ashamed of, but if I told brother that Shiki slept with me, how would he react...?) (I definitely can’t tell him.) Shiki: We did a lot of work at home together then killed some time. We even slept together, so you don’t have to worry. Lindo: Slept... together...? Ritsuka: Ah, it’s, just! Shiki: Yeah, we slept in the same bed. She was so warm. Maria: Oh my. Ritsuka: It’s not what you think, brother! It’s a misunderstanding or something... Lindo: ... From Here.... to Eternity ... Be gone!!!

Our nonchalant days have changed a little. Living with Shiki is a little far from peaceful... But those days are the happiest in my life.

💜 Me? I take my passions very seriously and throw myself into what I do, like I get VERY into my work. I was v competitive in debating and any time I hear the word challenge, its like yasss bring it on bish. Mark is competitive too but I think he’d prefer taking a support role. He’s so encouraging of his members and I honestly need a little cheerleader like him in my life ;-;

💛 As much of a nagger I can be, I feel like he is the type to do this even at random moments. Like we’d be chilling together and then he’ll just say out of nowhere, “Did you eat lunch btw? I’m going to make you lunch”. He wouldn’t listen to any bullshit. He’d take care of me whether I liked it or not haha

💜 Hhmm kinda mutual here but for different things, if that makes sense? Like he’d be telling me to “take your meds and vitamins, bring a jacket, text when you get there”, etc. I’d be like “take a break for a few minutes, I’ll be there soon with some food”, etc, I need reminders for taking care of myself but I give reminders for others to take care of themselves lol

Skam France episode 9 (S1 finale) reaction

Thanks to everyone who reads these things! I’ve gotten a lot of nice messages and comments since I started blathering my thoughts on Skam remakes into the void, which I didn’t expect, and it makes my day. Even if you don’t agree with me on something, I appreciate hearing your thoughts. I love talking about sad teens and their drama and it has been a grand time talking about sad teens and their drama with others!

Also thank you to everyone who translates or helps increase accessibility to any of the Skam shows, I am truly amazed by the kindness and generosity of everyone who donates their free time to it.

Episode 9

Clip 1 - Daphne peed on the wrong stick

Nice job getting in that shot of the condoms and water bottle at the beginning as if to say “I fucking told you so.”

There were apparently several real time errors in this clip in that French students should not have been at school that day, and Daphne mentions having gum at 10 am when the clip dropped at 8 a.m.

This doctor does not quite have the same quality of being from another planet as Dr. Skrulle.

Alex screaming to the heavens about no baby is glorious, but on the other hand, GIRL, you might wanna lower the volume about your friend’s pregnancy scare as people are clearly hearing you.

I love Daphne and think she did a really great job here of being bitter and resigned. I think Vilde was also great in this moment, but I think she was approaching it more from an outwardly (phony) sense of self-assurance. You don’t know want what you’re talking about Noora, I do. And though Vilde is pretty stunned by the doctor’s visit (and tbh I think part of her wanted the baby to be real … but that’s another conversation) you can see her starting to laugh and smile with the other girls before Noora pulls her aside. Then it feels more like cheerful denial that there’s anything wrong with what she’s doing. Daphne seems straight up miserable and defeated.

Clip 2 - Charles creeping again

MY BELOVED THEATER KIDS RETURN. One day they will get their day in the sun. One day.

TBH Charles has more sleazy charm than William and I can’t determine whether that’ll end up being a good thing or a bad thing.

This clip is WAY better placed than the original, actually! It always seemed off that Noora would be taken in by William telling her she’s beautiful when she still thinks he’s knocked up Vilde. Now that they’ve determined this isn’t the case, it makes slightly more sense. At least that consideration is out of the way.

The only drawback about having the doctor clip before this clip is that it occurs to me that Noora’s conversation with Vilde is likely what prompts Noora tell William to apologize, since Vilde has internalized his words so much to the point of repeating them, and I find it harder to believe that Manon would give a single shit about Charles’ flattery after she’s heard how bad his words made it for Daphne.

Lmao at fucking Charles being like “What are you doing here?” and Manon being like “I go to school here, dipshit”*

Wait, this is the same song for the Emma/Yann scene. Is this going to be a Skam France love theme? Will French Even sing it to Lucas?

My favorite thing Emma has done all season was the ensuing text conversation after this clip where she just replies to everything Manon says with “Fuck, you’re so beautiful.”

Clip 3- Emma and Lucas on the steps

The setup of this scene satisfies one of my burning questions, in that I always wondered what the vibe was between Eva and Isak as they walked over the the bench (awkward) and here Lucas joins Emma on the steps so I don’t have to wonder about their weird small talk or painful silence.

This is the first time where I bought Lucas’ acting. He’s still not exactly wowing me, but I thought he was fine here. Maybe he just needs that very large scarf to hide in to make him seem all vulnerable.

“You smoked at the cabin?” Emma, didn’t you literally see them smoking??

Wait, Tom was supposed to be Ingrid‘s brother? That’s what it sounds like, because why else would Yann contact Ingrid if he couldn’t get through to Tom, if Tom is just some unrelated dude who has weed? I thought her brother was some other guy because Elias was not Norwegian Ingrid‘s brother. Surely Emma would know Tom as a result of being Ingrid‘s best friend for years, but I don’t think either of them said anything about that, unless I missed it or can’t remember it. At the cabin I didn’t get the vibe they were anything more than acquaintances via Yann. And if Tom is Ingrid’s brother, then doesn’t it make more sense that Emma would hear Ingrid in the background on the phone, and it wouldn’t automatically be a cause for suspicion? It’s not weird for Yann to hang out with Tom.

I think Tom isn’t supposed to be Ingrid’s brother, but this line of dialogue is confusing, considering they changed it from Yann not being able to reach Ingrid’s brother to not being able to reach Tom. It doesn’t make sense to get Ingrid to get in touch with Tom; the chain should go Tom -> Ingrid’s brother (who also has weed) -> Ingrid.

They changed a bit from where Isak owned up to being shady when Eva asked him about hearing Ingrid‘s voice over the phone, he implied that he kind of suspected it wasn’t anything serious and figured it had to do with the drugs, and he acknowledges that he could’ve told Eva this, and he gave her bad advice to ask Ingrid about it. Lucas says he swears he didn’t know, which is kind of funny because IMO, Lucas seems way sneakier and more plotting in that scene than Isak did.

I do appreciate changes to the material but since they’re keeping most of it the same, I wish that they left in the line about karma being a bitch and Emma understanding how Ingrid would’ve felt, because I think that was a thematically relevant line.

Aw, it was sweet to see how Yann smiled and seemed so happy when Emma called. It’s a shame I like him so much more away from this relationship. He seems so pumped for their meeting. I think Yann is a little needier than Jonas and it affects their relationship positive and negative ways, like I think maybe he’s a little more attentive than Jonas, but he also seems to get more threatened by potential obstacles to their the relationship.

Clip 4 - The Emma/Yann breakup

Yann is so sweet and charming here, like I get why Emma fell for him.

So the final bit of this clip worked pretty well for me!

I said in another post that the three scenes they needed to nail were the skate park, Ingrid in the bathroom, and breakup scene, and while I didn’t think this was as powerful (mostly because the season-long buildup didn’t make it feel as earned) I still thought this was a strong scene, definitely the strongest of those three.

I loved the sweet moment of Yann holding Emma on the steps and them smiling sweetly at each other, and that was an aesthetically appealing, tastefully done semi-sex scene, especially the shot with their hands. Although I did find myself wondering if they sat on the steps and then smiled at each other like “let’s go have breakup sex” or if they banged it out, put their clothes back on, and cuddled outside. TRUE TO THE ORIGINAL in that regard.

More Seinabo Sey songs, love her.

Clip 5 - Ending party

The Emma/Yann hug is really sweet and makes me think the breakup is going to be less fraught, more amiable. which, IDK, it kinda feels like it should be more fraught considering these two are supposed to be very much in love? But it also makes me buy them airing season 2 so soon after S1’s finale, if Yann and Emma are going to be on more friendly terms.

Also the general atmosphere of the scene is more lighthearted. The music too, not as much of a serious tone.

Lucas was all right acting-wise in this scene, too.

INGRID AND EMMA NEED TO HOOK UP. I can’t say I shipped it in OG Skam but here … they should get together.

Ingrid, Sara and Imane dancing together is great.

Also Ingrid is there when Daphne tells Imane and Alex about Charles, awwww.

I love Daphne. I know I’ve said that a million times but she’s the MVP of Skam France.

The shot of Lucas with Yann definitely did not have that immediate SO THAT’S WHY HE DID IT effect. Yo, Skam France, remember how some of us were like “You’re telegraphing Lucas’ crush on Yann too hard?” Well if ever there was a time to project that shit from an IMAX, THIS WAS THE MOMENT.

Forreal, Lucas is paying about as much attention to Yann as to the other dude standing next to them. Where is that OTT longing gaze?

You’re holding a drink, dude, you could give us a dose of innuendo by slurping on that straw while you make eyes at your bro.

But then again, I guess no moment can be as OTT as when you have “Gay Bar” as your musical accompaniment.

There is a major continuity error in the scene because the other guy that is in the scene with Lucas and Yann can be seen behind Manon immediately in the next shot, so either he has a twin who dresses exactly the same or he teleported.

As much as I love Isak’s love of BUTT as the final moment, closing the season on Manon and Charles is a perfectly logical choice for leading into S2. Although lol, the lyrics being like “I’m just waiting for my day to come” are very creepy, Charles. “Cause something inside has changed” is better, though.

General comments:

They should’ve ended this season with the girl squad’s party, dude. Doesn’t that seem like a fitting finale? If the object is to gain popularity at school, shouldn’t they do it as soon as possible so they gain some capital before the popular senior guys leave?

One benefit about airing the next season right after S1 instead of taking a few months is that I can at least buy that they could have the party at the end of season 2. The longer they draw it out, the less it makes sense.

Lucas was definitely panicking and trying to be overly nice in that text to Emma post-Camille’s party. Emma was keeping it cool and Lucas was like I HOPE ALL IS WELL AHAHA WE’RE SO FRIENDLY :D :D :D oh god don’t tell Yann

Right now, I don’t have many thoughts about the season as a whole that I haven’t said before. Emma’s character arc is somewhat muddled, certain plot developments and characterization don’t make sense, the show overuses music, the girl squad dynamic is one of the show’s better qualities, marry me Daphne, marry me Ingrid, etc etc.

My main takeaway is that, out of the three remakes that have aired so far, Skam France definitely has less of a personal identity than Druck or Skam Italia. Even with those shows being early into their first seasons, I can already tell they’re more distinct adaptations with more done to fit their respective cultures. That’s not to say either of those versions are perfect or that Skam France doesn’t have its own strengths, but I would very much like to see Skam France develop more of a unique personality. Not sure if they can do that until S3 since they’ve already filmed S2 and can’t incorporate viewer feedback. It depends on how much it is going to reflect original Skam’s S2; judging by the trailer, it feels like the answer is A Lot.

I hate the idea of arguing with Adam's Nagisa-kun, and for that matter, Ibara, too. After all, families should always get along, don't you think?

....Even so, Ibara mused that depending on how it's done it may very well spice things up, and excitedly began to run some trial calculations.

As for Nagisa-kun, he didn't say a thing.

Somehow, it feels as though I'm not quite seeing eye-to-eye with the others.....

And that's a first in Eden, so I've been feeling a little uneasy, you see.

Nagisa-kun's been growing more human-like by the day, and now that Ibara's become CosPro's vice-president, he's increasingly bound to his title and position....

Though as for Jun-kun, I'm positively certain he'll always share my views.

He's totally helpless, after all. He has a long way to go, so for now he's still a fledgling who needs my protection... ♪

But anyway. To begin with, CosPro has such a powerful administration that even if its own idols don't really like the way things are going, we'd be hard-pressed to go against it.

In fact, people like Tatsumi-kun — those who'd lost their place trying to oppose upper management... there are many like them, you know.
