my controversial opinion is that if you had spent all of your academic years (meaning from kindergarten to university) in private schools, then you have no fucking clue how the real world works and it's kinda hilarious kinda heartbreaking to see you realise that in the "real world" there are no rules.
#and before you tell me “oh you have no idea how private school was! it was horrible!”#trust me i know bc i went to catholic school#(FYI here in my country catholic schools are private schools but not all private schools are catholic schools)#and yes catholic school sucked ass bc of all the classism#racism homophobia ableism antisemitism islamopobia everything you can think of#but you still had “rules” yk? and usually you don't have to deal with kids that basically grew up on the streets#bc in public school yeah money matters but to a certain degree and if you aren't street smart you aren't going to survive#especially if you have the naivety of someone who just came out of catholic school#speaking from personal experience#i went to catholic school in middle school but i did a public (art) high school and it was an interesting experience#don't get me wrong i loved high school so much they were the best years of my life#but i wasn't used to the amount of freedom i had and how little adults cared for us students AND that in order to do well you need to be#cunning and resourceful you can't survive by just being a “straight A student” or “the rich kid”
