teenage coworker made a limpwristed hand gesture at me and asked if i was “fruity” and this is the third lgbt person i’ve worked in proximity with who has done something along this line and i don’t care for it at all

#at least this time they tried to explain it--they see 'fruity' and the gesture as being like a secret code only gay people understand #which i can see making sense if you are a teenager. and which is not true.#there is such...an overfamiliarity. i don't know if i am just alienated to this degree or if its something else #but it feels like...meeting other lgbt people who suspect me feels like they latch onto me like a piece of driftwood in the ocean #and i understand the urge but everyone already wants something from me that i cannot give to them and it exhausts me #especially from people i barely know besides being my coworkers prying into something i hold closer to me than anything else #which is the name Buzz and the understanding of who that actually is.#(me.)#i don't know how to word it. its frustrating as well because most of them are already very good at making friends #everyone i work with is so good at dropping their tasks to talk to people about any old thing. my coworker #got two phone numbers and an invite to sushi the first day we worked together in full! i don't understand how you're supposed to do that #it irritates me. you have friends! you have GAY friends. why do you want me too
