Depha: I still can’t believe we both made it to the final round. Nelia: The council doesn’t make mistakes. There’s a lot on the line for them. I mean, could you imagine if they let the magic go wack? Shit would hit the fan.

Depha: You realize we win the final round, we’ll be part of the council someday. Nelia: Yeah, yeah. A long way down the road though. and that’s if we win. Depha: I still need to pick up my uniform. Come with tomorrow?

Nelia: Depends on what time. I have brunch with Mama and Mom, then I have that date with pretzel boy. Depha: Dang, I forgot! [dramatic sigh] I suppose it’s just me tomorrow then. Nelia: Oh shush you. You told me ask him out.

Depha: I mean, Pretzel boy is cute. But the assistant manger at Brew Crew is better. Nelia: You gotta stop with that, Depha. There’s no way that man is single. Depha: With how he gives you discounts? Doubt it. Nelia: Maybe he should shoot his shot then. Depha: Or maybe shoot yours first.

Nelia: I did. Hence why I’m going out with Pretzel boy. Depha: Not what I meant and you know it. We both know Coffee boy peeks your interest more. Nelia: Yeah, but that’s a bigger risk. Depha: You gotta stop worrying so much. Imagine where you’d be by now if you weren’t so scared.

Depha: Nelia? Nelia: Hmm? Depha: No matter the outcome with the apprenticeship, promise me it won’t come between us? Nelia: Says the one who lectured me on being worried not even 5 minutes ago. Of course Depha.You’re always going to be my number one. You’re my best friend.

Depha: I don’t think I’ll ever find someone who gets me like you do. I love ya, you know. Nelia: I know, Wolfie, I know.

Nelia: No matter what happens, we can’t forget about each other. There’s only three apprenticeships and nine of us competing for them. There’s a small chance we’ll both make it. Depha: The odds aren’t in our favor, but I’m happy to be beside you through it all. Nelia: C’mere.

Nelia: You’re my best friend, Depha. Depha: No. Nelia: No?! Depha: We’re sisters. Nelia: Sisters.

Daemys: Any updates with you, Little Love? Nelia: Eh, not really. My manager’s took me off the schedule when I gave her my two weeks. She was always a bitch though. Oh! I have a date tonight.

Daemys: You don’t sound that excited. How long has it been now? Nelia: I don’t know, maybe over a year? Yaen: Who’s it with? Is it that one guy Depha’s always trying to talk up? Nelia: No… It’s just a guy from the mall. Works at the pretzel place.

Yaen: At least you’re trying to get back out there. Daemys: Hmm, I just think you’d be more excited about this sort of thing. You know you don’t have to go through with it, right? Nelia: I have to start somewhere, I don’t want anything serious anyway.

Yaen: Bastard did a number on you. If I ever see Steph and that wh- Daemys: [underbreath] Yaen! Not in public. Nelia: I think you’d have get behind Depha and me, Mama. Daemys: You handled that mess of a man with too much grace. Nelia: On to greener grass.

Daemys: Grass doesn’t seem very green. Yaen: Oh gods, just let the girl go at her own pace, Love. Nelia: You and Depha worry too much. It’s just a fun little night out. Daemys: I just think Depha might be on to something the way she talks about this Manager.

Nelia: I mean- He’s cute… Well no. That’s a lie, I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who makes me feel so- so? The whole butterfly in the stomach thing. Everytime he looks at me. He’s so beautiful too. Whenever he smiles at me, I practically melt.

Yaen: So um. Why are you going on a date with someone else then? Nelia: It’s not like I can just go up and ask him out. Daemys: And why’s that? Nelia: What if he says no? I couldn’t show my face in Brew Crew’s anymore. Yaen: What if he says yes? Nelia: I don’t think it would end well. The final round is a week away.

Nelia: It’s going to take all my time. It would feel wrong pursuing a relationship with such a big life event happening. Daemys: I felt the same way when I met your mother. Sometimes people come into your life when you need them most, even if it’s not at the ideal time.

Yaen: Little Love, don’t let someone who makes you feel the way he does go just because you feel it’s not fair on him. That’s not for you to decide. Nelia: It’s not like he’d even say yes. Yaen: You can’t know that. You’re a kind and beautiful lady.

Nelia: I’ll think about it okay? Daemys: Just don’t take too long thinking. Nelia: Yeah, yeah. I know.
