@errorpedia's tags are exactly what i mean by this! if being the opposite agab would preclude you identifying as nonbinary, you shouldn't feel like you have to anyway because of the way others treat you. and this isn't a criticism of anyone who ids as nonbinary but wishes they didn't have to or wishes they could just be binary - this is a criticism of cis people making us feel this way because it's "too hard" to be inclusive and stop being cissexist

hot take and no shame or hate towards nb people at all in any way but more people would be binary if we didn't push so heavily the idea that man = penis and woman = vagina because when your identity doesn't line up with your agab but people constantly constantly reinforce that people of your gender have different genitals from you it doesn't make you feel like youre actually your agab it makes you feel like youre nothing or a confusing liminal space between them that you yourself can't understand and it feels safer and easier to be nonbinary

and not that there's anything wrong with being nonbinary but i find it really fucking heartbreaking seeing other people who definitely want to live as one gender but are invalidated so often that they internalise that they can't possibly be and start defining themselves as nonbinary. and this isn't a hypothetical because it's literally what i did/do
