Hello!

This is my main blog, and I'm currently attempting to make an introductory post for it loll.

Basic info

My name is Felix! I'm the host of an HC-DID system with over 150+ known members. I'm 19 years old, and I use he/him pronouns. I'm MLM and transgender (ftm)! I also have autism and ADHD!

Boundaries

I don't have many things I take issue with, but please don't bring up shipping discourse with me. Specifically, pro/anti discourse. I couldn't care less about any of it, since it's all so harmful and I don't have good experiences with it. I don't care what people ship as long as its tagged correctly. I don't mind discussing my reasons for staying out of it, but please don't jump to calling me evil for not wanting to be involved. You will be blocked for that. And no, I'm not neutral either; I'm not involved at all, I have my own set of beliefs. However, I don't care if either Antis or Proshippers interact with or follow me, just as long as discourse or drama doesn't follow me. I WILL be strict with this; I will happily block you, turn off asks, etc if need be. I am also explicitly anti-censorship and anti-harassment.

Speaking of discourse, also don't involve me in syscourse. I have my own set of beliefs around that as well.

DNI/Do Not Follow If

I don't really have a DNI since I can't stop people from *interacting*, but don't follow me if you have conservative beliefs (homophobic, support trump, racist, etc), if your blog is dedicated to Christianity (I don't hate Christians, just a personal thing)/ship or system discourse, you call yourself a MAP or support IRL incest, are a radqueer/TERF/similar things along those lines that I can't think of rn. I'll update this as things come to mind.

What fandoms are you in? And which genres do you tend to gravitate toward?

Okay so (and I apologize for the way too lengthy answer to this simple question) Fun fact about me: I have this nasty habit of always ending up in some of the worst possible fandoms. And yet somehow I've always managed to ignore the drama and bad stuff because I stuck closer to my own little corners of said fandoms (mainly focusing on memes and my own fics or favored fan content and don't interact with a larger majority of the fandom). But I actually have very few fandoms I can say I was actually "apart of" or are "in". Because really I don't...leave? Fandoms? I'll keep passive interest in them even as I get older but I won't actively participate or write fics for them anymore. And I have this thing where I aggressively hyperfixate on fandoms I'm in and I'll be part of them for years before I move on to another one.

So fandoms I'm in/have been interested in: MLP, FNAF, Undertale, Eragon, Warriors/Survivors (two series by the Erin Hunter team), Wings of Fire, Fairytail, Danganronpa V3, Persona 5, Assassination Classroom, BNHA, and nowadays DSMP. These are mostly in order btw. Some of these can be considered grouped together because I was in a couple of these around the same time. I consider MLP my first real fandom because that was probably the first thing I ever read (or rather listened) to fanfiction of. And it was my first exposure to dark fics and other things involving the internet.

As for genres it depends on if you mean books, movies, games, etc. I've always gravitated towards fantasy/fiction books and fantasy style series. I like action sometimes. Occasional horror (psychological kind usually). I've never been much of a sci-fi person but sometimes I can vibe with it. Again it really depends on the medium because I prefer action movies but I prefer fantasy books.

Now...an outlier here is fanfiction. Because that stuff depends entirely on the fandom. There are very few AUs that I simply refuse to touch across all fandoms (looking at you school AUs) ((specifically high school AUs)) (((I hate them))). And I have favored AUs depending on the fandom as well. My two biggest examples here are Villain AUs for BNHA (which span a massive genera of fan content in BNHA). And fae AUs/Superhero AUs for DSMP. A lot of the other fandoms on my list didn't have much in terms of "AU" content (except Undertale but I'm not talking about that mess). Hence why these are my two examples as my two most recent fandoms. Those are my favorites for those two fandoms. But there are always AUs I won't touch for these fandoms too. BNHA for example: I rarely touch AUs in that series that are "No Powers". I'm fine with AUs where Izuku doesn't have a power, but the entire cast not having powers? Ehhh. I'll pass. Because without the powers, without the hero/villain drama? It loses all kind of interest for me. It becomes just school drama at that point and I hate it. However I make exceptions for versions of the AU where they combine "no powers" with something interesting like "mafia". DSMP: Surprisingly enough, I hate how a majority of royalty AUs in the fandom is written and I won't touch them. That, and the super popular fics in the fandom. I haven't read Passerine, I haven't read Butterfly Reign, and I refuse to touch Accelerate or the other super popular DNF fics. The most I've read in terms of "popular fics" in the fandom was Tommyinnit's Clinic For Supervillains. But that was it. I liked the fic, don't get me wrong, but that was my limit.

the night circus (erin morgensten) - beyond the desire to become as elegant as humanly possible after reading, this novel invokes more atmosphere than actual development of the characters, whom I felt lacked personality and for the lack of words, a certain oomph, to make them shine in what an enchanting world of illusions and magic. the writing is beautifully solid though and the flow of the story is smooth, lingering when needed and moving onward likewise. ravel’s piano concerto in g major, movement II is the perfect reading soundtrack to it in my opinion.

simon vs. the homo sapiens agenda (becky albertalli) - this is the kind of y.a. coming-of-age/coming-out novel that is wholeheartedly pure, wholesome, sweet and tender, just like everyone else and their mothers have already said. how soft are the kids? bless them. and how soft is simon? bless him. better than movie but perhaps, a bit too light overall for me.

the absolutist (john boyle) - same author who wrote the boy in the striped pajamas approaches wwi in a subtle, deft, underwritten yet powerful and pretty devastating manner. this book explores relationships, courage, betrayal and guilt through a weary soldier’s perspective post-war within the historical setting of 1919. I’ve never really recovered from reading about wars since band of brothers but I survived this one.

aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe (benjamin alire sáenz) - I don’t always agree with the general sentiment/hype when it comes to books but there is something about this y.a. lbgtq realistic fiction that is wonderful. it could be partly sentiment (glorious 80s!), partly projecting along with aristotle’s/dante’s mothers (because when you’re a mom reading y.a. material, that’s what happens) or partly how well sáenz understands and communicates through words concerning teenage condition and mentality. I loved these boys and reading about them made them feel like my own.

a darker shade of magic (shades of magic #1) (v.e. schwab) - there is a lot going in this part 1 of a trilogy but sadly, I did not connect with it. the universe of parallel  Londons, magic and fantasy schwab built is fascinating enough; however, the characters fell short for me. mirroring a fellow reviewer’s sentiments: “...oh boy, I did travel. I was covered in smoke, I tasted metal, I smelled roses, I wore a bizarre coat and I dreamed under a pale sky. But unfortunately, I did not feel.”

a light amongst shadows (dark is the night #1) (kelley york and rowan altwood) - oh my god, I did not mean to read this one. I downloaded a sample some time ago and forgot what it was so in my attempts to read the description, ended up buying it on my kindle?! moving on: it’s a y.a. gay historical ghost story set in a boarding school (supposedly in england; can’t tell) circa 19th century, so silly me, I thought I was in for a little guilty pleasure stroll through the park. first mistake, I read it all at night, forgot it was a ghost story and subsequently, gave myself the creepers and couldn’t sleep. out of all the above lbgtq+, this protagonist is an one-man walking pride parade (bless him, so corny). when I described this book to my husband, he said he wanted to read it so I suppose there is something in it for everyone.

I’m begging the BNHA community for good OCs. This fandom has so much potential for interesting, creative OCs and yet whenever i scroll around Instagram and whatnot i can't ever find any. So here are a few tips and tricks for good, interesting BNHA OCs {from someone who’s been making fan OCs for over seven years now}

obviously this is my opinion and I’m not stating facts, just throwing out tips from my own PoV.

number one: always, always do your research.

The quirks in BNHA are always well thought out, and always seem to follow a few unspoken rules. there are no quirks with demons or angels, and when mythical creatures are involved, {see: Ryukyu} they don’t become a gorgeous, hot dragon. Ryukyu becomes this lizard like monster. Quirks follow a level of logic most of the time, like Bakugo having nitroglycerin-like chemicals in his sweat. Aside from Deku, who has main character powers, no one has more than one Quirk. Someone who’s Quirk allows them to do multiple unrelated things also counts here. Example: the ability to manipulate fire, but also the ability to use telekinesis. Or the ability to control wind and the ability to control emotions. Linking them together under a random, usually somewhat cringe-y name like “Angelic Eyes” or “Demon Heart” isn’t going to fix that. There is no precedent for this in canon at all. Always make sure that there is some level of logic or canon information that can back your Quirk up. Deku is always going to be the exception because he’s the main character. 

Telekinetic characters are a grab-bag. Yanagi from Class-B is telekinetic, she can move objects with her mind. So while there is precedent of this sort of Quirk existing in canon, this is also just proof that this Quirk already exists. I touch on Quirks similar to canon Quirks below.  Next, be sure to research existing quirks. No more OCs with illusion creation Quirks {Camie has that}, or copy Quirks {Monoma}. We already know that Quirks are almost always hereditary, or biological in some way, and two people with similar or near-identical Quirks are amazingly rare. Make sure your OC doesn’t have a Quirk too similar to a pre-existing canon character.

Also, make sure to look into the world around your OC. If Shinso, someone who’s Quirk is useless against robots, didn’t make it into the Hero course, then an OC with healing powers is most likely not going to make it either. It’s already bending canon to put your OC into Class A at all {although that can be forgiven because of plot}, don’t try to push it any more than that. It’s already an unspoken rule of OC making in general to not make them related to an existing character. No more Deku’s secret twin sister or Aizawa’s long-lost daughter. If it’s canon that they have no direct relatives, then leave that be.

Japanese people do not have white/western names.

If your OC is meant to be a Japanese person, born and raised in Japan {like most of the cast of BNHA is}, then they’re not going to be names Erin, or Belle, or James. Horikoshi puts a lot of thought into the names of his characters. They always have a deeper meaning, usually relating to their Quirk in some way. 

For the heaven’s sake, give them a personality.

I completely understand wanting a self-insert character to make your feel like you’re in the canon of the show. But having a 2D character with a blank canvas for a personality just so you can roleplay as them is tired, and I figured we left that back in 2012. I understand that on platforms like Instagram, a powerful but “simple” character who’s only defining traits are nice and sweet is great for marketing because your audience can put themselves in the OCs shoes, but it’s just painful from an outside point of view. If you want to make a self-insert, at the very least give them your personality. Are you a quippy, funny kid with a tendency to goof off? Fine, assign those traits to your OC. But give them your flaws, too. Maybe you don’t take stuff seriously when you should, or you tend to lose attention really quick. Give that to your OC too. Don’t be afraid to make your OC human.  However, when making your OC’s personality, remember that in the BNHA canon, Quirks affect the personality of the character. Bakugo and Todoroki are the most obvious examples. So if your OC has a light-related Quirk, maybe make them bright and exuberant, or loud and cheery.  Leave Dementia Raven Way in the past. Edgy OC’s were very 2010′s-ish. Leave your daddy-issues, super edgy, demon-quirk in the drafts, or update them to feel less like an emo chick stereotype. Unless you’re only working for yourself, let them not be an edgy boring mess.  ??? as a replacement for Quirk names are not cool or edgy.

It’s not interesting to give your OC a crazy cool or edgy-looking Quirk and leave the name blank, like they’re just so mysterious and dark that even the high school they applied to doesn’t know their Quirk name. It’s just an odd plothole that makes no sense.

Keep canon characters characterized properly.

This is the part that will most likely get me flamed. But here goes:

Bakugo isn’t going to fall for your uwu girl babie OC, your over-the-top edgy OC, or even the cold, too-cool-for-love type. Todoroki is not going to fall head over heels and start buying your OC everything, smiling often, or giving them hugs and kisses all the time.

Let me debunk these bit by bit: soft uwu baby OCs are pushovers in Bakugo’s eyes. Super-edgy OCs are tryhards, or they get in his way. Cold, cool types are probably just going to get in his way, too.

Making Bakugo a blushy tsundere is not keeping him canon. Todoroki the shy soft boy is not keeping him canon. 

I focus a lot on Bakugo because he’s the one most OCs ship with. Here’s more. He’s not going to call something cute or adorable, he’s not going to blush at your OC’s exposed tits or ass. He’s not going to buy your OC food or give them hugs. He’s not like that. If anything, a relationship in high school is just going to get in the way of being Number One. 

That’s just a few pointers I have lying around. I’d be more than happy to beta-read for OCs, or give out some tips and tricks more tailored to your OC. But for now, I guess stick to this list, and keep it up.

Something has prevented StarClan from giving the prophecy of The Power of Three, and that something reveals itself with a new prophecy. Not two moons later, twenty kittens are born, eighteen within the Clans, two outside, and a final one. What is even happening anymore?

On the other hand, Class 1A falls asleep in their dorm rooms non the wiser, and wake up born into new bodies with new parents and a new system of life. They still have their Quirks, they're still heroes, but they've been transported here as if they've been reincarnated. Did they die? What happened? Why do they still have their Quirks? How will they get home? *Can* they get home?
