Robert Finley Interview: Something to Laugh About
BY JORDAN MAINZER
The most stunning and heartbreaking song on blues singer Robert Finley's latest album Black Bayou (Easy Eye Sound), is made up. On album closer "Alligator Bait", the narrator--at first talking rather than singing--describes trudging through the swamp, his grandfather having just purchased for him a pair of hip boots. Backed by Kenny Brown's spindly guitars, Eric Deaton's slinky bass, and Jeffrey Clemens' slow-burning, stomping drums, Finley's gruff voice tells the story of this character wading around, waiting for something to happen. He accidentally steps on an alligator's back, thinking it's a log; his grandfather shoots the gator after it reacts. Matter-of-fact, Finley states, darkly humorous, "A lotta kids got ate like that." But on the second half of the song, he sings, wailing like a bluesman who had his heart broken. Only this time, he's taken aback by familial betrayal, realizing his grandfather had only bought him the hip boots and told him to enter the swamp in order to use him as alligator bait. When the narrator goes home to tell his father, his father laughs and brushes him aside, confessing that the same thing happened to him when he was a kid. Most of us face a mini existential crisis when we learn our parents aren't perfect. The narrator of "Alligator Bait", on the other hand, has just learned of his own dispensability.
When I spoke to Finley over the phone a few days before Black Bayou was released in late October, he confessed, "'Alligator Bait' was supposed to be cheerful. I didn't want to make him look like a mean old grandpa. It's just something to laugh about," before pausing and adding, "Maybe it'll make some kids stay away from the creek." Indeed, seven years into his improbable comeback, Finley views his role as a singer and entertainer as twofold: meeting the audience at the heart while simultaneously giving them advice, telling them the barebones truth when other authority figures won't. On Black Bayou, he reckons with ideas of homesickness and loneliness, lust and love, selflessness and salvation. Buoyed by longtime collaborator Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, Finley wrote all of the songs in the studio, and his familiarity with his supporting cast of musicians resulted in songs that were both efficiently recorded and emotionally acute. Brown's guitar winces with longing on "Livin' Out A Suitcase" as Finley's tired of traveling. On "Waste Of Time", a song that sees Finley taking pride in rural living even if it means missing out on opportunities provided by cities, the buzz-saw guitars and Clemens' clattering percussion yield a perfect maximalism to go along with Finley's claims that, yes, there's still a lot to digest right outside your doorstep. "There are so many guys down here with super talent," Finely said. "They haven't been exposed to the right places."
In fact, Finley's daughter and grandaughter, Christy Johnson and LaQuindrelyn McMahon, offer a prototype. Like many musicians and singers in rural Louisiana, Johnson had long been singing at church, specifically in the youth choir before she started traveling with her father, joining him on his 2019 America's Got Talent stint and eventually recording background vocals on 2021's autobiographical Sharecropper's Son. And Finley insisted to Auerbach on McMahon singing backup on Black Bayou, though she's also in her own band, according to Finley. After all, there's not much of a difference between blues and gospel music. As Finley puts it, it's just "Oh, baby!" versus "Oh, lord!"
Really, Finley feels his songs could essentially soundtrack various milestones or important events in life. He made sweet doo wop outlier "Lucky Day" for others. "It's a wedding song. It's for people celebrating their 50th anniversary," he said. "It's one of those songs you can use in different situations." In contrast, he describes "Susie Q"-esque lurker "What Goes Around Comes Around" as "basically scripture," even as he sings lines like, "I got my whiskey and my woman / I ain't worried about a thing." Living the way you want and keeping to yourself can be a holy exercise, too. "They're the true facts. No sugarcoating," Finley said, adding, "Something the preacher ain't gonna say. They'd kick him out the church!"
The line between Finley's performance as authentic versus an act is not one he's really ultimately concerned with, as the very fact that he's gotten here is surreal. "I'm living my childhood dream at my age," he said. "I get a chance to express myself. To be able to go back and look at myself on film to see how I've made a fool of myself." Multiple times throughout our conversation, he referred to himself as in total service of the audience, wanting to make them laugh, wanting to make their lives easier, even if he needs to paint himself as a sinner or dunce in order to do so. Still, he has his head on his shoulders. "There's a difference between acting a fool and being a fool," Finley said. "One means you're a really good actor because you can act crazy, and the other says, 'You're fucking crazy for real.'" Find me a preacher who'd admit that!

Always,Only. You. 31.1
Talia had taken Y/N in to her pack after your parents and their pack were brutally murdered. For years she trained and learned under Talia alongside Derek, Laura and Cora. One night Talia tells you along with Derek that you two have to imprint on each other, to become each other’s mates. Your connection to Derek has always been stronger than his to you. So after the fire it killed you to be away from him, but you had to do it for your own survival. 7 years after the fact, you return home. Back to Beacon Hills. But the Derek you return to is not the same Derek you know. Will Y/N ever get Derek to accept the fact they are meant to be together?
Beacon Hills High School
Cora stayed hidden in the corner of the hall by Erica’s locker. When the bell rang and the halls began to fill with other students, she waited until she saw her friend before popping out.
“Cora.” Erica smiled at her. “I thought we were meeting after school to talk to the animal doctor?”
She ignored her friend's question. “Where’s Isaac?”
“He had history. This way.” She said and began walking. “What's going on?”
“Nothing.” She answered, but Erica could tell there was something wrong with her friend.
Erica frowned at her fiend but stayed quiet. They found Isaac with Allison at her locker. Cora rolled her eyes and waited for him to finally spot them to call him over.
“Isn’t it weird he’s dating Allison and Scott still took him into his pack.”
Cora scoffed. “Isaac is never going to be a part of his pack.” She stated rather coldly.
“Cora.” Erica softly slapped her arm.
She sighed and continued, “I mean, every beta has as much say who their alpha is, just as much as the alpha does. All alphas are superior but it doesnt mean every beta succumbs to them when they have someone else they are loyal to. When you’re part of a pack your loyalty is everything. Isaac is loyal to Scott but,” she looked to Erica now, “he wouldn’t die for him.”
“Who wouldn’t die for who?” Isaac asked as he approached the girls.
“Nothing.” Cora replies before Erica could get a chance to.
She suddenly gets this uneasy feeling they’re being watched and motions her friends to follow her.
“I went to see Deaton.” She finally shares. “Someone from Satomi's pack stopped by not that long ago, looking for Y/N. He told Deaton where they could be found, in case she ever stopped by."
"Thats good news. But why would you go without us?" Eric asked.
“What’d he say about the fly?” Isaac asks next.
Cora looks over her shoulder, not at him particularly, but to find the source of who she felt was watching them. She didn't spot anyone obvious and turned her attention back to Isaac. “What fly?”
“Cora, the fly.” Isaac tells her.
She stopped suddenly and blinked a couple times at him. "It's gone." She finally told them. "I woke up this morning and the thing turned to ash as soon as the light hit it." She explained.
Erica and Isaac glanced at each other.
"You don't believe me?" Cora asked angrily.
"No, of course we do." Erica answered, stepping in front of Isaac to prevent him from speaking. "We believe you. So what do we do?"
"We go find Satomi's pack. And we ask her what she knows about the nogitsune."
"Are we even sure she'll know anything about it?" Isaac asked.
Just then the school bell rings, causing the students to scramble the halls once again.
"We won't know unless we ask." She looks over her shoulder again, "be careful. The twins have been following us." She tells them. She uses the opportunity of the crowded halls to sneak away from her friends.
“Cora, wait.” Isaac reached out for her wrist but she slipped her hand away from his grasp. He looked down at Erica.
She gave him a knowing glare.
Isaac didn’t need to ask. He didn’t need to say anything either. He already knew what had to be done.
Erica squeezed his arm, as a gesture of encouragement and gratitude before going after Cora.
As the halls slowly emptied, Isaac turned around. Instantly, he noticed the twins at the end of the hall staring at him.
Isaac smirked to himself, and waited.

Eichen House
“I knew you couldn’t be trusted.”
You woke up, startled by his voice. The room was dark, save for the single light that shined from above you. You closed your eyes, and blinked rapidly to adjust your vision to the dim brightness.
Once you had gained it back, you noticed your arms strapped down to wooden armrests with chains at the wrists. You attempted to break them free, but failed.
“What the hell?” You muttered to yourself. That’s when you noticed your legs were bound at the ankles as well.
“I knew you would get out of control.” His voice came from behind. You turned your head just as he was walking from behind you and in to view, until he was standing in front of you.
“Nobody believed me.”
“Derek.” your voice was shaky. Your heart pounded in your chest so fast you could hear thumping in your ears.
You were terrified. You now knew what was happening. You’ve been here before. In this dark, dingy, cold room. With a Hale, also.
“Derek,” you whimpered, “please.”
“See, you tried to convince everyone, that I was wrong. That following in my mom’s footsteps would be the end.” He took a few steps closer to you. “And yet here we are.”
“I didn’t mean it.” You told him. “Derek, I swear.”
Of course, you don’t remember saying any of that. But you were terrified. You wanted to get out of this nightmare. But this, this wasn't Derek either.
“I didn’t mean it.” The tears cascaded down your cheeks as you begged. “Please, Derek. I didn’t—,”
“Of course you didn’t.” He remarked sarcastically. “Just like you didn’t mean to kill Ennis. Kali. Wait, no, you wanted to kill them.” He stepped forward again.
“I was just protecting everyone—,”
Derek scoffed out a dry chuckle. “Right.” He nodded, “right.” He took another couple steps forward as he continued, “you’re not on trial here, sweetheart.” He stated. “That excuse isn’t going to work. This was no accident, it wasn't to protect anyone. You wanted to do this. That’s why everyone’s decided. Well, most of us who are left.”
“What?” You genuinely asked. “What are you talking about?!”
Derek ignored your question and began walking, painfully slow, around the chair. “Cora. Peter. Scott. Isaac.” He announced all their names, slowly leaving your peripheral. “Even Sheriff Stilinksi.”
You inhaled a shuddering breath, “Derek,” you sobbed, “I’m sorry! Please, just please! Don’t do this!”
“You killed Stiles.” Derek stated. He was now out of you but you knew he was standing right behind you. “Not another werewolf, Y/N. But a human.”
“No,” you shook your head, “no, I wouldn’t.”
“But you did.” He clarifies. “That’s why we decided to put you down.”
“Put me down?” You spat through your sobs. “Like some kind of animal?!”
“Exactly.” He lowered the band over your head. You inhaled a breath, forcing yourself to gain and keep your composure. You gripped the end of the armrests so tight, your knuckles turned three shades lighter.
This wasn’t real. It couldn’t be.
You were dreaming. Of course you were.
“It’s all just a bad dream.” You whispered to yourself as you closed your eyes.
Just then, a hand squeezed your shoulder. You opened your eyes, feeling the same ice cold feeling from when Stiles touched your shoulder the night at the hospital. You turned and he was staring right at you, smiling wickedly.
"You have no idea." he told you, just right before the shock coursed through your entire body.
Penthouse
You splashed your face with cold water a few times before rubbing at your face gently with your palms. Your brain was pulsating in your skull so hard it felt like it might explode. You kept you head lowered for a moment, and when you finally looked up, you stared at your reflection in the mirror.
The scratches had already healed themselves. You only knew that by the torn up clothing on your body and the dried blood. You had no idea what had happened.
You had woken up on the sofa to Peter tending to a wound on your thigh. Brett was tending to Lori, and when he had realized you were awake, he helped his sister to her feet and took her to another room. Away from you. Ethan and Aiden were sitting against the wall, healing themselves, but also staring at you. An unknown expression on their faces.
Your hands gripped the sides of the sink as you stared at yourself. You hated your eyes. You hated what you have become. You hated everything that has transpired since coming back to Beacon Hills. Without realizing at first, you had formed a fist and raised it, ready to punch at your own reflection, until a soft knock came from the bathroom door.
You didn't answer, but you lowered your fists.
"Come on out." The muffled voice came from the other side. "We need to talk."
The heavy footsteps retreated. You stared at you reflection a little longer before grabbing you sunglasses again and putting them on.
*****
You stepped out into the den of the penthouse. The twins were standing behind the couch that Brett and Lori were sitting on. He had his back turned to you, but when he noticed the teens' eyes avert away form him, he turned to face you.
You were a little embarrassed to ask what happened, and felt asking him why he was there would be an insult to his help. But the air in the room was different.
Something was wrong.
"What's going on?" You asked the group.
"Your pack is missing." Peter stated.

Bitcoin ETF Approval Expected in January: K33 Research Report
Summary of Article .container { width: 100%; overflow: hidden; } .image { float: left; margin: 0 10px 10px 0; } .text { text-align: justify; }
Nidhi is a Certified Digital Marketing Executive and Passionate crypto Journalist covering the world of alternative currencies. She shares the latest and trending news on Cryptocurrency and Blockchain.
Growing anticipation surrounding the approval of a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the United States has fueled the rise in Bitcoin (BTC) and the broader cryptocurrency market. As of today, Bitcoin surged past $42,000 and briefly hit $43,000 before facing a robust barrier at $43,500, failing to break through this key resistance level.
Research & Analyst Reveals ETF is Almost “Approved” : Here’s How?
With these changing dynamics, researchers at K33 Research expressed in their report substantial certainty that the green light for a spot Bitcoin ETF is now “almost certain” to come through in January.
In recent updates to its application, BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has shown readiness to implement cash creation before the January 10 deadline. This move aligns with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) preference for a “cash redemption model” for bitcoin ETFs. This model facilitates investors to exchange their shares for fiat currency instead of the underlying asset, enabling smoother liquidation without direct bitcoin sales. Analyst Eric Balchunas from Bloomberg interprets BlackRock’s choice of the cash-based model as a strategic pre-holiday maneuver.
K33’s senior analyst Vetle Lunde and vice president Anders Helseth see this development as a positive indicator favoring the potential approval of the ETF within the coming weeks, despite acknowledging the cash creation model’s inefficiencies.
Notably, these adjustments in filings often follow discussions with the SEC, signaling the regulator’s inclination towards approving a Bitcoin ETF. James Seyffart, an ETF expert at Bloomberg, anticipates the SEC greenlighting the first spot in Bitcoin ETF between January 5 and 10, aligned with the initial final deadline for a Bitcoin ETF application.
Meanwhile, altcoins are gaining traction, witnessing a surge in open interest (OI). Despite Bitcoin’s trading volume surging and remaining high, the price has been confined within the $40,000 to $44,000 range. This stagnant range drives attention towards altcoins, especially those experiencing rapid price surges, such as ORDI, BONK, TIA, and INJ.
After 24 meetings and numerous filing edits, can the SEC deny?
Although a definitive timeline for SEC approval remains unconfirmed, experts and crypto enthusiasts expect a favorable decision by January 10. John Deaton and investor Mike Alfred forecast an astonishing 98.7% chance of a spot Bitcoin ETF approval in January. At the same time, Trader Bob Loukas is betting on a 99.9% chance of ETF getting a green light.
There is a lot of talk about how a spot Bitcoin ETF might affect BTC’s price and the cryptocurrency market as a whole. Predictions range from significant investments going into BTC to doubts about how it will affect current BTC operations, as experts at JPMorgan Chase said it would negatively impact the market.

Ripple, the blockchain giant, is riding the waves of success despite the choppy waters of U.S. regulatory challenges. The SEC’s motion for an interlocutory appeal was denied, with Judge Analisa Torres shedding light on the SEC’s inability to present a compelling case for an appeal. However, amidst this slew of legal victories, it was reported that Ripple has faced a setback with the stepping down of its Chief Financial Officer, Kristina Campbell. While on the flip side, the XRP price has suffered in the last 24 hours. The coin has slipped below the $0.50 mark and has declined by more than 4% in the last 24 hours. While the world is rooting for Ripple to win the case in the US to set a precedent, the company is turning its back on the regulatory hurdles. Here’s What’s Brewing inside Ripple land According to Eric van Miltenburg, Ripple’s Chief Business Officer, the company’s global operations are not just afloat but thriving, even in the face of regulatory uncertainties in the United States. In a recent interview with Coindesk, he underlined Ripple’s resilience and strategic prowess, suggesting that they’ve been navigating these challenges as if they’ve already won the legal battle. Ripple Will Hire 80% Staff Outside US? Do you Feel Protected? But Ripple isn’t just weathering the storm; they’re setting sail to new horizons. Last month, the CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, boldly announced that 80% of their annual hiring initiatives would be focused on international markets, away from the U.S. The strategic shift is a response to their ongoing legal tussle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), signaling Ripple’s intent to explore new opportunities in regions like Singapore, Hong Kong, the U.K., and Dubai. At Mainnet and @bgarlinghouse just said: “We’re hiring in Dubai, We’re hiring in London, We’re hiring in Singapore…”Now I ask: Do you feel protected?— John E Deaton (@JohnEDeaton1) September 20, 2023 Even with Ripple’s recent triumph, the cryptocurrency industry is still uncertain regarding regulatory clarity. The ongoing events are poised to have a lasting impact on the crypto landscape. Many experts and Twitter users believe the SEC is unlikely to back down easily. They anticipate the agency will employ tactics to prolong the case, drawing from its history of tenacity in past legal battles.The Bear Case Scenario for XRPThe prolonged case delay might hinder XRP adoption. Only the final verdict can truly liberate XRP from its current constraints. Yet, there’s another event on the horizon: the potential approval of the Bitcoin Spot ETF. If this happens before the XRP judgment, it could significantly bolster the market, offering XRP an opportunity to ride the anticipated bull run and potentially achieve a new all-time high.!function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s) if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function()n.callMethod? n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments); if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0'; n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0; t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)(window,document,'script', ' fbq('init', '887971145773722'); fbq('track', 'PageView');

Den stjärnspäckade line-upen består av Jimmie Allen, Brooks & Dunn, Brothers Osborne, Eric Church, Steve Earle, Elle King, Marcus King, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, Elvie Shane, Koe Wetzel, The War And Treaty, Lainey Wilson & Zac Brown Band. “Four years ago, I had this idea of a Country tribute record to the Rolling Stones – the greatest rock band of all time. That we are finally here and introducing this project to the world is both gratifying and honestly, overwhelming,” säger Deaton om dagens släpp. “I could not be more proud of the artists and musicians that participated on this album. As the song says… ‘It's Only Rock and Roll But I Like It’ – I hope everyone will join us in celebrating 60 years of The Rolling Stones.” Dagens release av Stoned Cold Country har flera hits inkluderade, inklusive "Sympathy for the Devil" av Elvie Shane, "You Can't Always Get What You Want" av Lainey Wilson, "Miss You" av Jimmie Allen, och "It's Only Rock 'N' Roll (But I Like It)" av Brothers Osborne & The War And Treaty – som tog sig till CMA Awards-scenen i november för att leverera en blixtrande framförande av sin tolkning. NASA Photographers Share Their Favorite Photos of the SLS Moon Rocket
NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket is on the launch pad at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida and in final preparations for the Artemis I mission to the Moon. Now that our Moon rocket is almost ready for its debut flight, we wanted to take a look back at some of the most liked photographs of our SLS rocket coming together over the years.
We asked NASA photographers to share their favorite photos of the SLS rocket for Artemis I at different phases of testing, manufacturing, and assembly. Here are their stories behind the photos:
“On this day in March 2018, crews at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, transported the intertank structural test article off NASA’s Pegasus barge to the Load Test Annex test facility for qualification testing.” —Emmett Given, photographer, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center
“This is the liquid oxygen tank structural test article as it was moved from the Pegasus barge to the West Test Area at our Marshall Space Flight Center on July 9, 2019. The tank, which is structurally identical to its flight version, was subsequently placed in the test stand for structural testing several days later. I remember it being a blazing hot day!” —Fred Deaton, photographer, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center
“The large components of the SLS rocket’s core stage can make you forget that there are many hands-on tasks required to assemble a rocket, too. During the mating of the liquid hydrogen tank to the forward section of the rocket’s 212-foot-tall core stage in May 2019, technicians fastened 360 bolts to the circumference of the rocket. Images like this remind me of all the small parts that have to be installed with care, expertise, and precision to create one huge Moon rocket. Getting in close to capture the teammates that work tirelessly to make Artemis a success is one of the best parts of my job.” —Eric Bordelon, photographer, NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility
“An incredible amount of precision goes into building a rocket, including making sure that each of our SLS rocket’s four RS-25 engines is aligned and integrated into the core stage correctly. In this image from October 2019, I attempted to illustrate the teamwork and communication happening as technicians at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans do their part to help land the first woman and the first person of color on the Moon through the Artemis missions. It’s rare to see the inside of a rocket – not as much for the NASA and Boeing engineers who manufacture and assemble a rocket stage!” —Jared Lyons, photographer, NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility
“When the fully assembled and completed core stage left the Michoud factory in January 2020, employees took a “family photo” to mark the moment. Crews transported the flight hardware to NASA’s Pegasus barge on Jan. 8 in preparation for the core stage Green Run test series at NASA’s Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. When I look at this photo, I am reminded of all of the hard work and countless hours the Michoud team put forth to build this next-generation Moon rocket. I am honored to be part of this family and to photograph historic moments like this for the Artemis program.” —Steven Seipel, MAF multimedia team lead, NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility
“This photo shows workers at Stennis prepare to lift the SLS core stage into the B-2 Test Stand for the SLS Green Run test series in the early morning hours of Jan. 22, 2020. I started shooting the lift operation around midnight. During a break in the action at about 5:30 a.m., I was driving my government vehicle to the SSC gas station to fuel up, when I saw the first light breaking in the East and knew it was going to be a nice sunrise. I turned around and hurried back to the test stand, sweating that I might run out of gas. Luckily, I didn’t run out and was lucky enough to catch a beautiful Mississippi sunrise in the background, too.” —Danny Nowlin, photographer, NASA’s Stennis Space Center
“I like the symmetry in the video as it pushes toward the launch vehicle stage adapter. Teams at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, loaded the cone-shaped piece of flight hardware onto our Pegasus barge in July 2020 for delivery to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The one-point perspective puts the launch vehicle stage adapter at the center of attention, but, if you pay attention to the edges, you can see people working. It gives a sense of scale. This was the first time I got to walk around Pegasus and meet the crew that transport the deep space rocket hardware, too.” —Sam Lott, videographer, SLS Program at Marshall Space Flight Center
“This was my first time photographing a test at our Stennis Space Center, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I have photographed big events like professional football games, but I wasn't prepared for the awesome power unleashed by the Space Launch System’s core stage and four RS-25 engines during the Green Run hot fire test. Watching the sound wave ripple across the tall grass toward us, feeling the shock wave of ignition throughout my whole body, seeing the smoke curling up into the blue sky with rainbows hanging from the plume; all of it was as unforgettable as watching a football player hoist a trophy into the air.” —Michael DeMocker, photographer, NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility
“When our SLS Moon rocket launches the agency’s Artemis I mission to the Moon, 10 CubeSats, or small satellites, are hitching a ride inside the rocket’s Orion stage adapter (OSA). BioSentinel is one of those CubeSats. BioSentinel’s microfluidics card, designed at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley, will be used to study the impact of interplanetary space radiation on yeast. To me, this photo is a great combination of the scientific importance of Artemis I and the human touch of more than 100 engineers and scientists who have dedicated themselves to the mission over the years.” —Dominic Hart, photographer, NASA’s Ames Research Center
“I was in the employee viewing area at Kennedy when the integrated SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft was rolled out to the launchpad for its wet dress rehearsal in March 2022. I really like this photo because the sun is shining on Artemis I like a spotlight. The giant doors of the Vehicle Assembly Building are the red curtain that opened up the stage -- and the spotlight is striking the SLS because it’s the star of the show making its way to the launchpad. I remember thinking how cool that NASA Worm logo looked as well, so I wanted to capture that. It was so big that I had to turn my camera sideways because the lens I had wasn’t big enough to capture the whole thing.” —Brandon Hancock, videographer, SLS Program at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center
“I made this image while SLS and Orion atop the mobile launcher were nearing the end of their four-mile trek to the pad on crawler-transporter 2 ahead of launch. Small groups of employees were filtering in and out of the parking lot by the pad gate to take in the sight of the rocket’s arrival. The “We Are Going!” banner affixed to the gate in the foreground bears the handwritten names of agency employees and contractors who have worked to get the rocket and spacecraft ready for the Artemis I flight test. As we enter the final days before launch, I am proud to have made my small contribution to documenting the historic rollout for this launch to the Moon.” —Joel Kowsky, photographer, NASA Headquarters

Sterek fic idea..
Multiverse au in which you have a canon au verse and a more perfect verse.
In the everything is perfect verse Stiles stopped the Hale fire because he and Stiles discovered they were mates early on. There was no Paige and Kate went to prison. Gerard died of cancer several years before the fire.
Start time for perfect verse is 6 years after canon time, in canon time it is the night after Scoot betrayed D by forcing Gerard on him.
The problem with the perfect verse is everything is so great they all let their guard down. Stiles is a powerful Spark, but even a powerful Spark can’t save the world after a great calamity like the one Deaton caused trying to take control of the nemeton.
Unable to save the world Stiles works on a solution to try to at least save the packs children. In doing so he realizes he can send them to an alternate universe and that the best chance for as many of them as possible is a verse where there’s no possibility of them existing. The interesting thing about the term “pack children” is that it refers to everyone his Alpha considers children, which means Laura as Alpha-heir doesn’t count, but Marty who is 5 years older than Laura and human, he counts.. magic is after all fickle and so is time.
So there’s our grumpy Sourwolf, finally falling into sleep after one of the worst nights of his life, and the next thing he knows he is startled awake by sound. Then the scent of his family hits him and when he opens his eyes the room is filled.
Enter his 3 brothers, 2 younger 1 older. Along with his cousin Danielle, Peter’s kids Oliver and Olivia. Stiles’ sister who was born when he was six making her the same age as he is now.
Along with the older kids you have Derek and Stiles 4 kids, a five yr old, three yr old twins and an infant.
There are 2 toddlers that belong to Melissa, one is the Sheriff’s the other is Argent’s. A third child is human!Scott’s whoopsie that he left for his mom to raise.
Then you get Allison’s 2 kids, Cora and Isaac’s kid, Erica and Boyd’s kids who are named Eric and Veronica. Jackson and Lydia’s kid plus Lydia and Danny’s kid (Danny is gay still Lydia just agreed to coparent and provide the egg).
Magic being what it is they have their birth certificates and other required documentation and mundanes will never notice these changes. Stiles also manages to send a digital library with his sister(who has been training her Spark since birth) ..
Derek immediately (after he recovers from having 3 little ones calling him daddy) calls Stiles and tells him to bring his dad..
Can you just imagine the chaos? I can.
