traveling overseas was becoming more and more of a past-time, so much so it began to feel even more like they didn't truly have a place to call home. they belonged to nowhere and everywhere at once, whispers on the wind and blurry pictures on the internet neptune was the one to surely run into. nighthawk should've stayed dead, she should've kept that costume off and she should've died as a figurehead alongside her fellow heroes.

but she didn't. she just continued to work in the shadows around the globe, wherever the wind took her apparently. in reality, sao and neptune alike just never wanted to stay too far from their twin and their work tended to sweep him up around the world in a whirlwind. and it's not uncommon to have nighthawk's own higher ups having them take a trip out of country to a conference of some sorts with other heroes in the underground.

admittedly, nighthawk created a rapport with eraserhead through prickly introductions and half-hearted grunts. they've started melting the metaphorical ice here and there, sometimes ending a night or two with a drink. most of the time, it had been neptune to be the one to take to an easy conversation with him, the more natural way she could handle a conversation thus earning her the role of conversationalist.

though sao peeked through sometimes, when something rung too close to home or when she simply just couldn't help it.

like now.

in an instant she rounds on him, ultramarine eyes flashing a bright periwinkle in that moment that neptune had given way to the (ancient) anger that sao held so tightly onto. nostrils flare and fist pounds the table but in the briefest moment she steels herself. chews her lip.

" they will always bleed, eraser. just like the memories of my heroes on skewers or crushed, eternally bleeding but never running dry. "

guess it would take a little longer for them to grow accustomed to each other. she takes a sip of her drink in an effort to calm the raging fire she felt prickling at her fingertips and within her heart. sao couldn't risk an outing in the difference between her and her counterpart, but she's thankful that they tended to act similarly - even with the occasional angry outburst.

Kylie could already hear irritation in the man's voice & he wasn't having it. Renée & the other kids had mentioned that Mr. Aizawa was grumpy, but they didn't say he was a jerk. He'd have to talk to Remy about the guy. Until then--he turned the doorknob & shoved his way in, not waiting for the room's owner to let him in. Now, some might say that a bralette & yoga pants do not make for an intimidating outfit. However, when the wearer is a 5'10" person who's fairly muscular & very much scowling...well, it doesn't matter as much.

He stalked over to where Shota sat. "Look here, Shota. Evan Sabah-Nur's worried 'cause ya can't neva smile once. He a good kid. He's always studyin', readin' so late he ain't even slept. idk that he is necessarily aware that this is an option tbh, despite growing up in a non-traditional household w/two moms...but they were monogamous and i think that ideal of devotion and commitment appeals to him a lot. but he is very much a lover and i don't think it would take much for him to come around to the idea that devotion and commitment can be between more than just two people tbh. like if he felt the same level of love/devotion/affection for more than one person and felt it from that person as well, he could very easily be up for that. he thinks it'd be a shame to limit love to just one person if all parties involved felt love for one another y'know?

and somewhat relatedly, i think the idea of polyamory appeals to him more than like an open relationship where he's in a committed relationship w/one person but have other non-committed sexual relationships.

❝ I'M NOT. ❞ SHE WOULD BE A FOOL to believe she ever would be, ever could be — that shota's life with her in it would be anything but worse. persephone tries not to be selfish in her relentless pursuit of judgement. they cut ties, they avoid attachments, and any threads of connection that cannot be snapped they keep at arm's length.

@eraserisms was the one thing she couldn't let go. it's selfish to bring him back into her life, especially when he has a kid to protect. the enemy she builds and breaks and screams for would not hesitate to threaten @rcguish to keep shota from moving against him — and it would not stop at a threat. he specializes in fates worse than death. the things parents dream about on their worst nights that wake them in a cold sweat, have them darting into their child's bedroom just to sleep by their side, breathe in their scent, remind themselves that nothing has happened.

selfish. she knows it is. it would have been better to keep this relationship to what it is: an emergency probation. persephone a tool to him, aizawa a means to an end for them.

it's almost like, every time that they touched like two entwining lines, meant to meet once and branch off again separately - this man had a gut instinct for just what to say. kaifeng kept their cards to their chest, he never delved too deep into his own history. never once told shota a whisper of hala's name, or those that have left him cold after all the shared warmth in the world. they've indulged and indulged alone, strangers to meet in forbidden darkness but oh, he's terrified of the dark. unseen things, strangeness of the unknown, easy ammo for his traitorous brain to use against him.

kai turns himself to the side, pulling the blanket up over his shoulder as he takes in the darkened face of such a captivating man. stubble and unspoken issues and eye bags and all, they found themself enchanted - yet those words were haunting. he knew nothing of the void's past, yes, so this was spoken on behest of teacher's own history. something clicks and his lips part in the instinct to speak. nothing comes, nothing but a soft noise from his tongue and still-gloved hands reach forward to rest on scarred chest.

yes, shota knew nothing about him. kaifeng knew nothing about him, either. but maybe ... they could learn to open up, even if just a little bit.

Nightmares: a meme compilation |still accepting|

This wasn’t the first time that Shoto had dealt with a nightmare which normally occurred behind the walls of his home, but it was different this time. One of those countless nightmares decided to make an appearance in the dorms that the class of 1-A had been moved into for the sake of their safety. It was a relief at the same time though since it helped lift a large burden off his shoulders since he wasn't overwhelmed by the ideals of his father. 

His family had enough issues as it was while there were some things that Shoto wasn’t willing to speak about. There were only a select few who he had confided in. One of them being Bakugo, but that was because of the relationship the two had managed to create. They had been keeping their relationship underwraps, a decision that they made on their own since they were determined to graduate and he knew how his father would react to it. 

Not that Shoto truly cared if Endeavor found out or not. The truth was going to come out at some point while it was unknown if the rest of their class had found out already. He wouldn’t be surprised if Izuku had figured it out. 

A sudden scream that broke the silence of the dorms before the concerned voices of his classmates could be heard that was followed by Aizawa’s voice. The panic was still there while Shoto was trying to sort through his racing thoughts and stop his chest from heaving with each breath he took. 

Thankfully, the concerned faces of his classmates were sent back to their room to keep him from having an audience. He would have to apologize to them tomorrow. He didn’t want to wake them. 

A small shaky breath escaped from him before he rested his forehead against his knees trying to make himself look smaller 

“Sorry for waking everyone, Aizawa-sensei.”

Kylie was rarely angry with Shota. But the man had been stabbed, taking a hit that Kylie probably could've healed herself (or at least recovered from a lot faster) & he was refusing to act like that was a big deal. In fact, rather than accept Kylie's thanks, as well as her help when it came to getting around, Shota was being stubborn (again).

"Hell no. You ain't gettin' ta tell me I'm de crazy one 'ere, jus' 'cause I sayin' ya worth somethin'. Bec mon chu [Kiss my ass]! If you didn' love anybody, ya wouldn't be--y'already know, Shota! Fuck is the matter with you, not ever sayin' ya care?!" Kylie screamed, standing in the doorway so the man couldn't walk out on her. She flexed her fingertips, which almost always meant that she was about to punch something (not a person, necessarily, but something--she'd never been great with her temper).

"You got any idea how painful it is lovin' you?" There were hot, angry tears in her eyes. "I ain't built like you, able t'pretend n' all."
