So I saw one of your art posts about machete and his mom and I was wondering does he ever reconnect with his parents later in life? Your art and characters are amazing btw.

In the original renaissance setting, no. His parents left him at a monastery to be raised as a foundling at age four or so, and at least during his stay there they didn't make an attempt to reclaim or visit him. He was a quiet, disciplined and obedient kid, and a fast and motivated learner, so the monks encouraged him to pursue an ecclesiastical career. When he was around eight he was picked for an apprenticeship by a highly respected priest in Naples and shipped to the mainland, and after that point any potential ties to his biological family were severed.

He doesn't remember his early childhood, I don't think he knows his original family name or where he was born to be exact. His parents have no reason to think that anything ever became of him.
