I feel guilty for saying this since she's so nice and easy to like, but Data's daughter Lal's original metallic form kinda scares me which is why I like her human form much more.

Recently I've been on several very long car journeys with my mum, so of course, I persuaded her to listen to TMA! As a result, here's how she's been picturing the characters:

Jon: Older guy, kind of thin, tall but not overly tall, grey hair. (I showed her the popular design for Jon and she literally said "No!! They made him look too cool!!!")

Martin: younger, shorter, short brown hair, always smiling. ("obviously until things got super serious in the archives... " ).

Sasha: Average height, midsize, short bobbed darkish hair dyed red. (she said she couldn't picture sasha's face, which is kinda poetic.)

Tim: very tall, lanky.

Melanie: very short blonde hair with dark roots, quite petite, quite pretty.

Micheal (distortion): short black hair, pale, haunted look. (I don't know how she came to this conclusion, we listened to all of his episodes... The heart wants what the heart wants 😌 Although there is a chance that she's mentally combined both Micheals.)

Gertrude: much older, very short curly grey hair but not in a boyish way, glasses, very short, a bit round.

Daisy: short dark hair, petite, formidable...("you know, powerful like some smaller women are...")

Elias: "I can't picture him, he's just like... A blob of evil with his evil voice..."

the star trek episodes you really gotta watch out for are the ones where it's just "the ___". like, "the noun". wire. offspring. chute. et cetera . innocent nouns hiding the most devastating possible television the 1990s could produce . and there was even gay guys

*sniffle* well, that's that then. voyager has made it back to the alpha quadrant (albeit i'm not the biggest fan of the "timey whimey antics save the day" means utilized but i've seen similar plots play out far worse so i'll accept it with minimal brow furrowing), my mind & heart are full with a new sci-fi obsession, and while i know i said i'm diving into TNG asap, i do think my little ticker needs a minute to process & say goodbye to the star fleet captain who-- no matter how good picard/other captains i can't wait to meet are-- will now forever be My Captain(tm), and her intrepid crew (i'll even miss the doctor!) of the U.S.S. Voyager o7

I genuinely love The Next Generation. There is no hate in my heart for that series, it is just wonderful and thought-provoking and so solid with it's storytelling. It's something I can put on and watch anywhere, anytime.

But there definitely is something to DS9 that really hooks me in on another level, and I think it has something to do with the heavy religious & spiritual threads woven into the story. The Catholic me is having a blast with it.
