07-Ghost - The World (Part. 3)

Episodes 21-30 of the 07-Ghost radio show! Aww man, I’m really sad it’s over. I had a lot of fun listening the whole way through. It definitely made me a Namikawa Daisuke fan. I look forward to spotting him in another role!

Episode 21

Kuroyuri VA’s second episode. Honestly, she was kind of annoying (sorry!) She wouldn’t stop cracking up at everything and it made the whole episode very chaotic. They started out by discussing: their ideal birthdays and nicknames they’ve had in their lives. They then played a “what would you do?” game where they had to pick the most popular reaction to various scenarios. This time the punishment was to speak like a servant/butler. The loser was...Namikawa of course (lol every time!)

Namikawa failing at keigo was honestly the highlight of the episode for me because, same. Apparently this episode came out close to the end of the anime. Funny that the show would go on for so long after the show was already over. I guess because the manga was ongoing and they still had DVD sales to boost? 

Episode 22

The first no-Namikawa episode in a long time (another scheduling issue). This time though we got two guests: Castor and Lab’s VAs! Saiga called it a “church special” lol. It did feel like a mini reunion. The opening discussion was “what do you do to calm down when you feel stressed.” Lab’s VA said he likes to be alone/have alone time. Castor’s VA said he likes to eat sweets lol. Maybe it’s because Namikawa wasn’t there to react, but they barely read any fan mail. 

For a game, since Lab’s VA was there they played a “flower language” game where they had to guess what each flower signified. Somehow the flowers were also connected to birthdays? I tried to Google this but couldn’t find much. I want to know my birthday flower! Anyway, the final corner was a “Last Supper” where they ate something that was supposed to taste like chestnut and another thing that was supposed to taste like sweet potato. For once, both experiments were yummy. 

Episode 23

In this episode Namikawa comes back and so does Lab’s VA (sorry, I should probably learn his name). I was honestly pretty relieved to hear Namikawa again because he’s really the heart of the show. They discussed their blood types and caught Namikawa up on what he missed in the last episode. I finally looked up what the heck “Namikawa ga Kamu” means (the name of one of the corners) and I think what they’re going for is that he snaps at the listeners who send him ridiculous mail lol. Kamu has a bunch of different meanings so it took me awhile to get that.

They played another flower-themed game. This time they had to guess which flowers out of a bunch listed were currently blooming. They kept saying “ah that one blooms in winter, huh?” and I was like “wtf? Nothing blooms in winter!” Damn you Japan and your higher temps! This time Saiga and Lab’s VA lost and their punishment was to speak like a maiko (I didn’t even know maiko had a unique speech style). The final segment was responding to listeners worries but I honestly struggled to understand what they were saying and spaced out a little, oops! Lab’s VA said he wants to come back, but was disappointed in the lack of food this time around lol. 

Episode 24 

Wow, a Bastien episode, how unexpected. I honestly forgot what Bastien sounded like because he was in so little of the anime, but he has a nice, deep voice. Probably second deepest after Ayanami. It cracked me up how he and Namikawa bonded over how they both voice dead guys. The started the episode out by discussing what kind of food they like to eat in November and then talked about how popular/unpopular they were in their younger years. One fanmail asked what they would give Teito as a birthday present and no one really knew what to say LOL (it is a hard question). Namikawa said a camera and Bastien’s VA said “Mikage” loool. 

I thought the game they chose for the Bastien episode “find the impostor” was clever, but it was hard to play along. It was another game where they had to pick “which one of these doesn’t belong” out of a list of 07 Ghost things, but they didn’t clearly read out the options so it wasn’t super interesting to listen to. Bastien’s VA lost and his punishment was to talk like a country bumpkin for the next segment. They ended the episode by doing the confessional-like corner and listening to listener’s sins. Amen. 

Episode 25 

Another Kuroyuri episode! I guess she was really available lol. This one was recorded around Christmas time so it was slightly Christmas themed. They talked about sock fetishes (for some reason lol) & read some more chaotic fan mail. One girl that wrote in claimed to be from Namikawa’s elementary school and they freaked out. 

The game they played this time around was “what do you want for Christmas” where each person listed a bunch of things they might want for Xmas and then the others had to guess what the correct answer was. Kuroyuri asked something along the lines of “what cup size boobs do most women want?” I’m used to boobs coming up a lot in stupid anime so I was kinda surprised to hear real people have that conversation lol. Namikawa was clearly uncomfortable and gave the “I think size doesn’t matter” speech haha. (By the way, the answer was C cup). Namikawa lost as usual and had to use “reindeer speech” for the following segment. His interpretation of this was to add “tona” at the end of every sentence (because tonakai = reindeer). 

The final segment was Last Supper and they ate things that are supposed to taste like melon when you eat them together (white chocolate + apple juice, cucumber + honey). Apparently neither hit the mark but at least they weren’t too gross this time. 

Episode 26

Jun (Hakuren’s VA) returns! They call him “Jun Jun” which is way too cute. I think he’s one of my favorite guests, just cuz he’s so iconic and has great energy for radio. In this episode they discussed what color each person would be (Namikawa = orange, Jun = black, Saiga = blue). They also discussed New Year’s resolutions because this was recorded around January. They played an 07-Ghost themed version of karuta which was fun to play along with. Guess who lost? (It was Namikawa lol). I totally didn’t get what his punishment was. He had to talk like “maro/daimaro” and I couldn’t figure out via google what the heck that is.

In the final segment they gave advice to listeners. One listener asked what they should do about a mouse problem. Namikawa at first said “move” but then changed his answer to “get a cat” lol. Very inspired. Only 4 episodes to go~!

Episode 27

A rare no-guest episode. Namikawa seemed very fed up and low energy in this one lol. This was recorded in January so they discussed new years again. It’s kinda cool hearing time pass in these. Oh how innocent times were back in 2009/2010. The only thing that really stood out in the beginning of this episode was that one listener called Namikawa “Namikawa D-Cup-san” and Saiga and Namikawa died laughing. This was in reference to a past episode where Namikawa called himself that but he acted like he never said that loool. Honestly, the best part of this show is just hearing everyone laugh at dumb jokes.

The game they played this time around was pretty creative. Basically while one person was blindfolded the other had to help them draw a picture of a 07 Ghost character with verbal instructions. As they did so, they had to stay in-character. It was really funny hearing Saiga switch from polite Japanese to Teito’s feral speech style. You don’t really realize how cartoony anime character’s are until you hear natural speech right next to it (or maybe that’s just me lol). Namikawa lost again (I felt bad for him this time cuz he sounded genuinely disappointed) and his punishment was to stay in Mikage-mode until the end of the episode. He said acting so “pure” was exhausting. 

Episode 28

Another Haruse episode. He was really cute in this one, he admitted that he was nervous about doing radio and was worried his voice would shake haha. They again talked about New Years and New Year’s resolutions. They also took some kind of “psychology test” where they had to describe what color/pattern handkerchief they’d want to receive from a girl. The color handkerchief = the color of panties they like or something stupid like that lol. 

For the game, they had to put 07-Ghost characters in the correct order. Saiga had to order the ghosts, Haruse’s VA had to rank the Black Hawks, and Namikawa had to organize a bunch of characters in the order they’re introduced in the manga. Pretty difficult. Everyone did about the same so they had to do rocks, paper, scissors to decide the loser. The loser was, of course, Namikawa. His punishment was to sing everything like an opera singer for the next segment.

The final segment was giving advice to listeners. One person asked for advice on dating someone older than you and another person asked about giving “the talk” to their younger brother lol. At least I think that’s what they said. These advice portions have some tricky Japanese. 

Episode 29

The first Konatsu episode, it’s interesting to see them bring in new guests at the very end. Konatsu was one of my favorite characters so it’s unfortunate that I found his VA really annoying lol. His style of humor was to just repeat the same obnoxious thing over and over again and I found it really grating. This was recorded in February so they discussed how much you should spend on Valentine’s day chocolate. They also asked Konatsu’s VA what kind of character Konatsu is and he basically said “I had like no lines, so I dunno” lol. Too true. I forgot Konatsu was even in the anime.

For the game they had to pop some balloons and the more hearts they got the better their score was. (I guess they put heart on pieces of paper and stuffed them inside the balloons?) For once the loser was the guest and Konatsu’s VA had speak in a Kansai dialect for the final segment. The episode ended with “The Last Supper” and they ate avocado with vanilla ice cream, which apparently is supposed to taste like mango.

Episode 30

The grand finale! They actually called it that too. I wasn’t sure if they were going to acknowledge this as the last episode but they made it special. They did a lot of reflecting on how far they’d come and how the show seemed long and short at the same time. This was an hour long episode but they basically spent the entire time reading listener mail (which is my favorite part anyway). No games, no guests. Namikawa’s “kamu” corner got special background music for the first time. Most of the listener mail was people saying their goodbyes and being sad that the show was ending. 

At the end of the episode some staff person came into the studio to thank Namikawa and Saiga for their hardwork and to give them chocolate. Very cute. The depressing part is that both the hosts and the listeners were talking about “if season 2 happens...” which obviously never did. Pooor 07-Ghost :’(

Kdrama recs Part 2

Hello @camsthisky and anyone else who cares! I do apologize for the delay on this post--it has only been 84 years since Part I of my kdrama recs, I know, and I thought about going for a full century but this is me finding a way to de-stress after watching the first episode of I-Land alkdjfadlksj I’m gonna die of heartbreak but whatever

Speaking of heartbreak, there is a lot to be found in Korea’s wonderful historical dramas, so like, be warned—or, if you are an angst-loving monster like me, settle down for hot guys and good cries

Let us begin! (or, if you want romantic modern dramas see Part 1)

1. Scarlet Heart Ryeo/Moonlovers: 

aha ahahahahahaha *weeps* You may have heard people talk about this show. You may have heard ME talk about this show. This thing was my first kdrama ever and it RUINED ME 

Disclaimer: I have seen this show once and rewatched it twice and on the rewatches I can never quite make myself watch the last 4 or 5 episodes because things get tragic and messy and I get mad. HOWEVER there is a lot of good in the first part of the show and because this thing was all the rage in everywhere but Korea itself, there’s like over 300 fanfic for it and several good fix-its, including one by my good friend @thelonelybrilliance

Ok so anyway this show which could also be called An Abundance of Princes starts with a young woman from modern times getting thrown back into ancient Goryeo during an eclipse and finds herself in the body of Hae Soo, the cousin of the wife of one of the princes, and thus she gets embroiled in royal affairs which are, quite frankly, a mess. See, the evil eyeliner prince (whom I love even when he’s the worst) is plotting with his mom to get the Crown Prince out of the way aka dead BUT who should return to the Palace but the 4th Prince, Wang So, who has spent at least half his life living as hostage to a powerful family. 

So has a scar that cuts across his eye and which in this society makes him a horror to look at or smthing idk he just looks extra hot to me but anyway he wears a mask and is known as the wolf dog (or as the MURDER ANGST CUPCAKE thanks @abadpoetwithdreams). He might seem a little rough around the edges at first because his life has been hell but he really just wants to love and be loved okay people need to be nice to him wtf

Other princes include: 

    1.  the Crown Prince, Wang Mu, a good egg, not particularly charismatic but he tried to protect his lil bro when no one else would

    2.  the 8th prince, Wang Wook, who reminds me of a fellow named Shane and I don’t mean the cowboy

    3.  the 10th prince, Wang Eun, a dumb adorable spoiled bby (played by Baekhyun from EXO)

    4.  the 13th prince, Baek Ah, a tol soft boi, an artist, a BAE, a BRO, a SHIPPER ON DECK

    5.  the 14th prince, Wang Jung this son will fight everyone he’ll fight himself he just loves to fight! Not always wise but he’s a good boy and I like him a lot 

    6.  just realized I skipped the 9th prince but nobody cares 

One quick note is that IU plays Hae Soo, and I enjoy her a lot in the first half of the show where she is still spunky and rebellious...sadly her character kind of falls apart/gets too weak for my liking as the episodes progress

The MAIN reason why I feel it my duty to recommend this show to everyone despite the fact I have never met anyone who wasn’t traumatized by it is LEE JOON GI

Yes, this man:

 I mentioned him in the previous rec post—he played Bong Sang Pil in Lawless Lawyer (AND IS NOW CURRENTLY STARRING IN FLOWER OF EVIL WHICH WILL BE ON ANOTHER POST AHDFOIASDHGALDSKJF FRIQ I AM IN LOVE WITH THAT MAN) 

BUT SERIOUSLY LOOK AT HIS PHOENIX EYES!!! HIS RAZOR SHARP FEATURES! HIS BIG ADORABLE EARS! HIS BEAUTIFUL EXCESSIVE BANGS! 4TH PRINCE WANG SO LOVE OF MY LIFE

SOMEONE PROTECT THIS BBY

2. Hwarang: Ok so right off the bat I am going to smack down a disclaimer that I can’t stand the female lead. TRULY CANNOT. Thus, I don’t like the romance, and only care about the love triangle as far as it just shows how sad and lonely one of the guys is. (Also there are scenes of dumb old men plotting and I don’t like them either). At the end of the show, I am happy that the one guy is NOT stuck with the female lead as his wife. Good for you sir

Sounds like a show to steer clear of then, right? WRONG. This is a show that you skip through because the scenes that are good? Are GREAT

Picture this: It is the Silla era of Korea, and the queen is ruling as regent in place of her son, who has been hiding all his life because everyone wants to kill him. Well, son is now grown and must soon come into the light and take the throne. Queen who both wants her son as king but also really likes being queen decides to do everyone a favor and form an elite fighting squad out of all the prettiest and most talented sons of nobles in the land, with the idea that they will be loyal only to the throne, and thereby keep their dads from plotting to destroy everything. 

Let me tell you something, these ARE the prettiest boys in the land. Good hair, good jawlines, beautiful smiles—the cast lineup includes Park Hyung Sik and his cute lil elf ear, Park Seo Joon, Taehyung (yes from BTS!), and Choi Minho from Shinee, plus two other actors who are lesser known but who are drop-dead gorgeous. Anyway. Sorry, but they really are all beautiful. 

The fun thing is they don’t all get along right away, a few of them are VERY much opposed to the other for various reasons, but they all have to bond and become brothers in arms. And what they don’t know is that the real king snuck in and is one of them. 10/10 I would die for the boys! (also Tae has an older half-brother who is a lower rank than him but whom he looks up to and that makes for cuteness and pain) Once you skip the boring or annoying parts of the show, the rest has so much delight, laughter, and oops pain, lots of pain. I want to go re-watch. 

Two other things I should mention about the show: a super soft side romance between secondary characters and a game of, as they call it in the show, HOT SOCCER 

^pretty boy 1 (with the cute elf ear sadly on the other side of his head)

^pretty boy 2 (sad cheekbone bby) and pretty boy 3 (happy cheekbone bby)

^pretty boy 4 (the prettiest of them all, and he knows it!)

^pretty boy 5 (aka Taehyung danced around the set of a historical drama and made everyone adopt him as their bby) 

3. Faith/The Great Doctor: This is a longer kdrama at 24 episodes and they didn’t have much of a budget so special effects aren’t the best or anything but I just got really attached to all the characters? This is another modern girl goes back in time but UNLIKE SHR it actually has a happy ending, so if you need a historical drama cleanse after that tearjerker/enrager, this could be it for you

Eun Soo has to navigate the ancient kingdom, keep people believing she is a heavenly doctor with special powers, and keep Choi Young alive so he can fulfill his promise of returning her to her own time. The problem with that is Choi Young does have kind of a death wish because of reasons—

Eun Soo is a plastic surgeon who would really like a rich handsome husband one day but them’s the breaks for you, aka she has had no luck in that department. Back in ancient Korea, Choi Young (played by Lee Minho in sadly the only role I really love him in) is a high-ranking beloved captain who can fall asleep anywhere. Oh he can also make electricity with his hands! :D

The story begins when the sleepy sad captain tries to escort the new king and queen to their palace. This was during the time period when ancient Korea was basically a puppet kingdom/tributary of ancient China (Yuan). The king (who is very smol and lacks confidence, but still has a good heart for his country) lived as a hostage in Yuan for many years, and his wise tol queen is a princess of that land, and someone needs to sit them down and make them talk because they actually love each other a lot. Anyway, when the queen gets injured by assassins, Choi Young goes searching for a legendary doctor, winds up in modern Korea, and steals both Eun Soo and a SWAT shield, because hey, it looked cool I guess

Lots of fun things in the show: Choi Young has a crew of soldiers who are BEYOND loyal to him, and while he doesn’t think much of the king at first because he’s been burned by kings before, they slowly become bros and shippers on deck for each other. Eun Soo does not lose her spunk or loyalty unlike other people I could mention *cough*HaeSoofromScarletHeartRyeo*, and it cracks me up when she curses people out. There are also a bunch of people (mostly bad guys) running around with special powers or gifts, including a flame lady and a flute boy, and the latter wears delightful anime wigs, keeps his sword in his flute, and plays his flute to kill—literally! I love flute boy very much

4. My Country: A New Age:

ANGST ANGST ANGST PAAAAAIN BUT ALSO BEST INTRO BEST FAVES BEST ACTORS

Picture this: two young men, who both hail from childhoods of trauma, who grew up together and are best friends, and who are tragically forced apart and end up on opposite sides of a conflict that threatens to upend the current rule of the kingdom. This IS the star-crossed brotp you’ve been waiting for!

Seo Hwi is the son of a general who died a criminal, and all he wants is to live simply and earn enough rice take care of his younger sister, who has seizures and a sweet crush on Hwi’s bestie. Hwi is the best softest most loyal boy with a good and true heart, a great deal of courage, and a talent for wielding a sword, and just wait till you see the best one-shot fight scene ever of him in battle, it is INCREDIBLE! (He is played by Yang Se Jong, who I now want to see more of) Hwi has an abundance of charisma points in that he picks up a small band of loyal soldier friends and they become the best little found family, lots of brotp-ness in this crew—do not mess with any of them because they will all FIGHT you

Seon Ho meanwhile is the illegitimate despised son of a powerful nobleman, only tolerated because the legitimate son died. Seon Ho loves his friend and is very protective of his friend’s little sister who crushes on him but his dad is a high class grade A power-hungry jerk and that causes complications of course. Seon Ho also has a good heart, he’s a gentle soul really, but he always gets stuck in bad positions and unfortunately makes a couple of difficult/bad choices so he hardens himself as much as he can but the consequences always kill him and he just wants to save his friends and destroy his dad and the stupid hierarchy that treats bastards as lesser. WHY IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? 

Seon Ho he is played by Woo Do Hwan who has so much talent I die so many times over in this show just because of the way he portrays Seon Ho like that sad sad boy is one of my favorite characters evER! Is he problematic? At times maybe but I am HERE for him he just needs LOVE AND AFFECTION AND AN ABUNDANCE OF GOOD FRIENDS BUT INSTEAD (SOMETIMES THRU HIS OWN FAULT BUT HE ADMITS THAT) HE JUST SUFFERS AND SO I SUFFERRRR

*grabs a towel and dries up my tears*

Hwi also falls in love with a woman named Hui Jae (or was it Hee Jae i can’t remember) and they are very cute together, she’s pretty cool but the show’s one failing is arguably that they kind of underuse her in the plot as the story goes on? But I still like her and she still has a good role, and she is both brave and kind and not afraid to step in or tell people off, also keep a weather eye open for patching up scenes! 

Oh yeah, eVERYONE in this gets hurt/stabbed/shot/bloody, such a shame they have to take their shirts off to clean and bandage the wounds ;)

Last character I must mention is Bang Won, played by Jang Hyuk in his second interpretation of the historical figure. Bang Won is the fifth? son of the guy who becomes emperor/king, and he has his own plans for the country, so when Hwi catches his eye, he recruits him to his cause.  What you need to know about him is that he has issues with his dad, is slightly unhinged, and cannot and should not be parted from the fan that he constantly carries around with him. Gotta say, Jang Hyuk is FANTASTIC (heheheheheheh) in the role, able to convey all kinds of emotion in the rise and fall of his voice, in the tilt of his head, the tears of his eyes, the flick of his fan. Give this actor all the awards! 

To sum up: if you like to cry for days after watching a drama, if you like excellent heart-wrenching brotps, if you like conflicted characters, if you like amazing music and setting and plot, if you like guys with good hair and arm muscles (and 

abs, thank you shirtless scenes what) this show is a Must Watch

Ok I was going to leave the historical drama post at this for now but...I’m going to cheat a little and include the one historical C!drama I just finished.Yes folks I am talking about:

5. Nirvana in Fire:

Ok so maybe the switch from kdrama to cdrama makes you uncertain. Maybe the fact that this show has FIFTY-FOUR EPISODES makes you go hell no I don’t have enough time for that. Well if you overlook this show for those reasons, you are making, and I do not exaggerate, the greatest mistake of your show-watching life!

Look, first, this drama has one of the best, most intricate, most satisfying plots in history, with like 20 characters you would die for, and second, the episodes are only about 42 minutes each, which is shorter than most kdrama episodes, so you can deal.

Once upon a time there was a general/family who were just too good to exist in corrupt old China, so naturally they were framed for treason and there was a giant massacre and everybody died, including the eldest prince who was like um dad maybe this is all a horrible mistake and the king was like no u are the mistake. Sad times.

One of the many younger princes named Jing (A NOBLE HEART, if not always the cleverest) returns home from wherever he was, finds out that not only did his prince brother die, but so did his best friend/brother in the whole wide world, Lin Shu, son of the general. Because he insists on the innocence of said bros/family, Jing becomes an outcast prince and is shuffled off to fight in wars where he can’t cause any trouble. Meanwhile, Princess Nihuang, Lin Shu’s brave, awesome, amazing, wise, incredible girlfriend, refuses to marry anyone else, and because she is too cool to be messed with, nobody tries to banish her

Cut to I think eleven years later, when the two most powerful princes are vying to be the crown prince and heir to the throne. They both try to recruit the aid of a renowned clever and sassy strategist named Mei Changsu, to help them with plotting and PR and such.

Well little do they know that Mei Changsu is actually the not-dead Lin Shu, with a completely new face (for reasons), and that Mei Changsu is a chess master setting up a long con for the dual purpose of obtaining revenge/justice for the dead and of raising Prince Jing to the throne, since Prince Jing is the only man with a good enough heart and strong enough will to make China a better place for all the people. But just to make it hard on everybody, Mei Changsu is dead set on not telling anyone who he really is—again, for reasons. He is not always successful in keeping his secret.

I literally don’t know what else to say because there is so MUCH to say, so many characters to love, and I mean LOVE. How do you get a cast this good? How is everyone so different yet so important? How do you feel bad for the emperor even when he’s slimy? How do you have to stop yourself from rooting for the prince who would destroy some of your faves? I can’t praise the charisma and acting talent in this show enough! And the music! IS GORGEOUS!

1 strategist too sassy for his own good and too clever for everyone else’s good + 1 prince who loves his mom and his dead best friend and his dead older brother more than anything else in the world + 1 gentle wise mom + 1 eternally loyal princess who would defend her loved ones with the sword if necessary + 1 sassy Elrond healer man + 1 grumpy sulky baby who loves being a better fighter than almost everyone + 1 loyal to the death, brave badass general who is going to have a stress breakdown if the strategist doesn’t take better care of himself + not 1 but 2 good boys who deserve to be protected but who are willing to throw themselves into battle if necessary + 1 antagonist tiger prince who I love and am not ashamed to say it = THE BEST OF TIMES

I absolutely don’t have to answer any of these but since I’m NICE I will commit to all of them

1. Why does tickling matter so much to you?

Touch is a huge, huge part of intimacy, romantic and platonic. Obviously tickling is a kink for me, but soft intimacy is something I don’t think I’ve ever really had growing up or in other relationships. I guess with the more touch I feel I can give and receive, the more I can really feel at home with people

2. Would you tell your S/O about your love for tickles? How would you start that conversation?

It’s already been done! In the past, I’ve tried easing them into it by incorporating it extremely lightly in some level of intimacy, with varying degrees of success. Say that you enjoy it, that it makes you happy, and see how they feel about it. Always make sure they feel comfortable along the way

3. What is your greatest fear involving tickling?

I guess that no one would really want to have me as their ler/lee. Self-deprecating thoughts of feeling unlovable or unattractive make this difficult, but I try to trust how others feel rather than how I feel about myself.

All of the above, depending on who I’m with! I think my default is starting out goofy and light, then switch over to being a soft, gentle dom/ler or a cruel, sadistic ler, depending on the lee’s preference. 

I think I’m pretty shy as a lee, but I really only become lee if I choose to. If I really wanted to, I could easily switch into ler mode and overpower you, so watch out :) (BUT if I happen to choose to be lee I will be shy and soft and you’re not allowed to tease/praise me cause that’s meaN)

7. Do your friends know about your love for tickles? If so, how did they react? If not, what’s holding you back?

One particular friend group knows! We took turns around the group chat figuring each other out, but they didn’t get to me at the time. When we were hanging out irl, they asked me right after one couple was tickling each other and had to escape. I told them and they were slightly mortified but we all laughed about it later.

Less drama more pajama, it’s a bit cliquey and I kinda wanna befriend everybody!!! But that’s okay it’s kinda bound to happen with any community at some point

I absolutely admire @twordish she is such a sweet, kind soul, and is super fun and easy to be around which is a TREASURE for someone as socially awkward as me

I think the one that stuck with me the most was that one episode of My Life As a Teenage Robot with the nerve implants

Any intimate moment with tickling involved! They’re few and far between so I cherish them, and hope for more in the future

In general: I’d vastly prefer to have my close friend to tickle/tickle me. It’s just a whole different experience with people you trust. Uh a machine that teleports people from the community to you. Ok but for real, any machine with automatic tickling would probably be cool to use as a supplemental tool

Tickling is a key part of me and my identity at this point, so I think I’d would keep my sensitivity! Maybe if I were younger, I would have changed that, but I’ve come to love that part of me.

It’s electric, wicked, and intense from the very start, from its lightest form to the heaviest petting. Really, tickling is about the surprise, and the cognitive dissonance from the comfort and tension of the touch. 

Touching can get to you with time. Kisses and soft worship can get to you with time. Pain can get to you with time. But tickling? It’s already there. It was over for you from the start. Good luck :)

I guess? Part of what makes tickling so special to me is the touch of someone else, but I think if it can mimic that briefly, sure why not

Arrowverse: 25 favorite Canon-Ships – In my opinion

This is my blog, this is my list, it is in no way objective, everyone is entiled to their own opinion, so please don’t reblog or answer just to tell me how much you disagree with me. You can’t quantify love, well except with stupid lists like this, just because a ship is not on this list does not mean I don’t like it - except when it does - so…. yeah, here we go

 25. Karolsen (Kara Danver/James Olsen)

 Active in Canon: Supergirl Season 1-2

 Back in Season 1 of Supergirl I actually shipped this. Mainly because the narration was telling us too and because I loved Kara and genuinly wanted her to get the guy of her dreams. I mean she got heart eyes, ever time James walked in the room, but she also was adult enough to stettle for „just friends“. Too bad she stuck James in the friend zone too long to actually feel comfortable dating him in the end. The chemistry between them was not so great, but after it became clear that Mon-El was not coming back and that James other Love Interest was going into crazy land I would not have minded that ship returning in Season 5, but Mehcad left the show too, so that was that.

 24.  Batmoore (Kate Kane/Sophie Moore)

 Active in Canon: In the one and only Season of Batwoman (probably), whatever that thing called Season 2 is, it is not „Batwoman“ anymore

 I know there are people who hate Sophie, I know there are people who hate Kate, but let’s just saddle on them being both wright and wrong at the same time. And there was an undeniable wild chemistry between them, that never ever ceased to exist. So in an other universe, where „Batwoman“ not only had success but was also loved by the people involved in the shows production, those two gals would have a beautiful endgame pairing.

 23. Dolsen (Alex Danvers/Kelly Olsen)

 Active in Supergirl 4-5 (so far)

 Our Sanvers-Heart was still bleeding when those two happend, and yes, they happend awfully fast, but in many ways Kelly is a much better fit for Alex than Maggie ever was, because she is less selfcentered and much more willing to compromise and they are more simelar. And in the end all the obstacles those two faced they were willing to overcome together. Kelly confronted her own trauma and did not just give up on her relationship with Alex, she stayed, so did Alex, who was by then much more evolved in her journey to her true self. Kelly made Alex happy when she needed happiness, and the two of them are cute together and good for each other. What’s there not to like? Here is hoping it will last.

 22.  Merlance (Tommy Merlyn/Laurel Lance)

 Active in Arrow Season 1

 Most people just ship them together so that Oliver is free, but I always liked the unlikely story of Tommy Merlyn actually conquering Laurel Lances heart. Andi t seems like on Earth Prime they did even end up married (if only for a short period of time), so cleary it was True Love. Their realtionship made them both better, inspired them to work on themself and each other, so there was never anything wrong with Tommy getting Olivers girl. It was just that she loved Oliver more and did not realize how much she had loved Tommy until after he died.

 21.  Agentcanary (Alex Danvers/Sara Lance)

 Active during Crisis on Earth-X

 I was one of the many many voices demanding this to happend long before they did „Crisis on Earth-X“ and was so happy when it finally happend. In the course of four episodes we had everything :hot steamy sex, bonding, relationship talk, becoming friends. As with crossover pairings of course nothing ever came from it afterwards. I would not have minded a follow up, but alas Alex was not over Maggie at this point and Sara would soon become serious about a certain someone shortly after this, but overall Agentcanary did not disappoint. Yes, I know Sanvers-Shippers hated it so soon after, but Sara was the best rebound Alex could have had, and many fans want this dynamic to be rediscoverd until today and frankly so does a part of me.

 20.  Overarcher (KaraX/Oliver QueenX)

 Active during Crisis on Earth-X

 And staying in Crossover Pairings, this one was epic. Of course we would never get Oliver and Kara in Canon, even though many have been yearning for it, so we got there evil doppelgangers as a married couple instead. While I don’t think our Kara would ever really give Oliver a shot, this one was undoubtly True Love, well at least for Oliver X, Kara X did love him, yes, but she was much more in line with duty than he ever was. Which is what actually makes this dynamic this interesting. He would have done anything for her, while the regime was in the end all that really mattered to her. And while I don’t think he minded dying after losing her, I wouldn’t have minded keeping him around for vengance on our Kara for more episodes after this. It would have been interesting to see what would have come from that. So yeah, those two were very evil, but also three dimensional, which is how it’s done right.

 19.  Cynco (Cynthia/Cisco Ramon)

 Active The Flash Season 3-6

 Why did they kill her?! Why? (Well I presume because it became clear that the actress would not return at any forseeable point, but still). I have come around to Cisco/Kamilla, but Cynco rocked the house, it really did. Finally a real Love Interest for Cisco and what a force of Nature Gypsy was. I loved her, I loved their dynamic, and I loved them together as a couple. To bad the strain of living on different earths was too much for them. They should have been endgame, but still Cisco admitted that while Cynthia was not the One his realtionship with her thought him how to recognize the One. Which is worth something.

 18.  Brainia (Brainiac-5/Nia Nal)

 Active Supergirl Season 4-5 (so far)

 Brainy and Nia and their relationship were the only genuine good things about the first half of Season 4. I love them both, and I just loved their puppy love on screen. Season 5 brought more than a few hurdles to overcome for them, but I remain confident that there will be a happy ending and that love will prevail. Because the love those two share is just too special not to.

 17.  Elongsue (Ralph Dibny/Sue Dearborn)

 Active in The Flash Season 6 (probably not more)

 This was supposed to be an epic love story with endgame potential and then … Real Live happend and decicisions were made, and now we probably won’t ever see a happy ending for those two, which is beyond disapointing. Ralph had given up on love and than Sue happend and she was great. It was not was you would have excepted, which was actually what made it great. To think we were dreaming about their own spin off only a few months back … Well at least we will always have Season 6. Which is not enough but still glorious.

 16.  Constangreen (John Constantine/Gary Green)

 Active in Legends of Tomorrow Season 3-5

 The fans have always loved this ship more than the writers. Sadly. We love Gary, and Gary loves John, and John does actually love Gary, just not enough, I guess. Given that John and Zari 2.0 are now an item we probably won’t see anymore of this ship, even though we had hope that after getting his heart broken by Des John might find solace in Garys arms but who knows what Season 6 will bring. It’s only over, when it’s over.

 15.  Jocile (Joe West/Cecile Horton)

 Active in The Flash Season 3-6 (so far)

 Yeah, finally love for Joe. And how much better for him is Cecile than Francine ever was …. Putting aside the height difference those two have everything: They are cute and sexy together, have a mature realtionship that presents new obstacles the navigate around together, and it’s an eternal shame that their planned Season 5 sub-plot was cut short because of Real Live being a bitch, but we still love Joe and Cecile individually and as a couple. And they also show us how much smarter it is to make the wife of a main character also a main character than to not do it (yes, I am looking at you „Arrow“).

 14.  Smoakdetective (Donna Smoak/Quentin Lance)

 Active in Arrow Season 4 and 6

 I am probably the only person on the planet who shipped those two and was really invested in them, but boy did I love them. Quentin needs love, and while Donna is not the first person you would think of when you would think of a potential partner for him, she is the best fit for the role. She challenges him and makes his day brighter. And he treats her well. Unburdend by a past, those two could instead built a future together. Sadly it didn’t last, but who knows … Maybe there will be a happy ending for those two on Earth Prime after all. They have to tell me different to make me believe it’s actually over.

 13.  Clois (Clark Kent/Lois Lane)

 Active in Supergirl, Elseworlds, Crisis on Infinite Earths (so far)

 Now this couple is actually getting their own spin-off and rightly so. Clois has been done very compelling by many other actors before, but the Arrowverse-Version still managed to get their own spin on it and to come across super sweet. „Elseworlds“ and „Crisis on Infinite Earths“ got us two of the best Superman-Movies in recent years, so I am hyped for their own show, which will give us not only more of two characters and a ship I love but also the long awaited Season 5 of „Lois and Clark“- kind of at least.

 12.  Raylicity (Ray Palmer/Felicity Smoak)

 Active in Arrow Season 3-5, Legends of Tomorrow Season 1

 Ray was only there for the love triangle, which is a shame because Raylicity was actually a great pairing. Cute and entertraining those two are actually a much better fit than Oliver and Felcitiy, maybe only a little bit too simelar as Oliver has pointed out. Back then when Felicity was still likeable Ray was perfect for her, and the only reason I am okay with that falling apart is that Ray went on to get his own show and much more screen time and a partner that was actually willing to marry him afterwards.

 11.  Nysara (Nyssa al Ghul/Sara Lance)

 Active in Arrow Season 2-3, Legends of Tomorrow Season 1, Arrow Season 8

 We all kind of loved this one, because with this „Arrow“ did the plung and presented us a LGBT-couple seemingly out of nothing. Which we will always be greatful for. But also we love Sara and we love Nyssa, why shouldn’t we love them together? Only trouble is, that Nyssa clearly has deeper feelings for Sara than the other way around. Yes Sara mentoned Nyssa to Alex as an equivalent für Maggie, but mainly to get Alex to move on, she cleary is over Nyssa who never seemed to get that the Assassin-Thing was very offputting for Sara in the end. But I guess, if something bad should ever happend to Ava (it’s the Arrowverse after all, you never know), Nyssa is always ready to take Sara back.

 10.  Avalance (Ava Sharpe/Sara Lance)

 Active in Legends of Tomororw Season 3-5 (so far)

 That said, at this point Avalance is cleary planned to be endgame. And why not? The Clone and the Assassin are cleary good for each other. Ava was the one person who made Sara give up her eternal „I don’t deserve Love“-Nonsense and got her to actually comitt long-term. She got Sara go grow up and she is the one partner that actually manages to make Sara smile. Sara cleary loves her, and Ava who was not designed to either fall in love or be a lesbian fell in love with Sara and managed to hold on to the person she became with Saras help. Yes their road was not always easy for them. Starting out not liking each other (well Sara and one Ava did), fighting over Mallus and the whole Mona-thing, they weren’t always on the same page, but they got past all of this and became a true team- Co-Captains for Live even. And how beautuilful is this?

 9.      Westhawne (Iris West/Eddie Thawne)

 Active The Flash Season 1-2

 Remember what a said about Tommy und Laurel? Well, in this case even more so, because I don’t think that there is a single person out there who begrudged Eddie the fact that he stole Barrys girl, because Eddie was just a great guy. The greatest actually. And he was ready to fight destiny itself. For Iris. And she did love him. A lot. Yes, he wasn’t the love of her life, this was Barry, but Eddie was the other one, the one that got away, the one that died, we don’t know how the story would have gone if he wouldn’t have died. Eddie und Iris were great together, they had chemistry, star crossed love, and were very enjoyable to watch together. Not a minute of there relationship was too much, and I could have lived with even more it and would even have been happy about it.

 8.      Throy (Thea Queen/Roy Harper)

 Active in Arrow

 From their first meeting in Season 1 to their engagement in the Series Finale, we were with Thea and Roy for their whole journey (well the parts that took place onscreen anyways). This is the one ship that everyone agreed on was to be endgame. We all wanted them to end up together and they did. It wasn’t an easy road with Roy being written of the show after Season 3. When Thea left later she left with him, but then he came back, but she didn’t, so we had to wait until the Finale for their reunion, but Roy popped the question and Thea said yes, and while I am the only one still hoping for a Daugthers of the Demon Spin-Off with Talia, Nyssa, Thea, and Roy, I think none of us would mind getting more of them in the future in any shape or form.

 7. Hellcanary (John Constantine/Sara Lance)

 Active in Legends of Tomorrow Season 3

 While everyone else was busy celebrating that Avalance was finally canon, I was celebrating this wonderful duo going at it with force (Matt Ryan had his own opinion of this encounter and I am confident to say he shared my feelings about it, even though he could not say it back then, because it was before the episode aired). Two broken souls, two players who played which each other and found solace in each others arms – two bi-sexual icons together. I would have loved to see this realationship continue, but Sara went steady with Ava so it was not to be, I guess.

 6.      Vixensteel (Amaya Jiwe/Nate Heywood)

 Active in Legends of Tomorrow Season 2-3

 Another one I am pretty alone with, but I loved the star crossed romance between Nate and Amaya, and the fact that they defied history and was heart broken when they gave up after all. The much better improved version of Hawkatom had actual issues, actual love, started out as friends became more, broke up, tried to stay apart, got together again, and finally surrendered to history. I would have liked them fo fight a couple of seasons longer and maybe even get an happy ending somewhere along time traveling lines in the distant future. This at least might still be possible.

 5. Lauriver (Laurel Lance/Oliver Queen)

 Active in Arrow Season 1-5

 This was supposed to be endgame, and the fact that it wasn’t is frankly just an insult to anyone who knows anything about Green Arrow in the comics. Yes, they weren’t a terrible good couple to begin with, but they loved each other more than li´fe and they learned to grow as persons and were on the way to grow together. By Season 4 they would have made an awesome couple, having left their past behind them, set on a future. It was the vigilante dream-couple we were promised. But instead Laurel was killed and to add to the insult the shows last scene didn’t even feature Laurel welcoming Ollie in the great beyond, which honestly should have been the end scene of the show. Maybe those two were to simelar to work in the past, but after everything they went through they would have worked in the future and also should have.

 4. Sanvers (Maggie Sawyer/Alex Danvers)

 Active in Supergirl Season 2-3

 Ah, Sanvers, they took the world in storm and didn’t we love them? Maggie helped Alex to realize who she really was and gave her the courage to come out. And Alex helped Maggie to lays some of her own issues to rest. Their love was a whirlwind – planning a wedding after a less then a year of knowing each other. Yes, the relationship wasn’t perfect. Maggie was a little bit too headstrong and selfcentred for role as Alexs first same sex partner and her unwillingness to compromise and listen to her partner did kill the relationship, but given time and space she could have changed. Sadly neither the actress nor the writers seem to have any interest in bringing Maggie back to the show so endgame is off the table, but who knows, maybe we will see those two together again some day, and if not … as first great loves go this one was epic.

 3. Cannarow (Sara Lance/Oliver Queen)

 Active in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow 1-5

 So here it is my Arrow OTP. While since Sara joined the Legends a lot of people turned up that were an equally or even more interesting fit for Sara, no one ever managed to be a better fit for Oliver. Both went to hell, together and apart, and were the only other person who really understood not only what happened to them but also what made them tick. Both former killers who did dream of straying from this path and found strenght in eacht other. They have known each other since childhood, and yes, originally Oliver cheated with Sara on her sister, but since their rebirth in the water of oceans everything changed. This was also the only time we got the epic comic duo of Green Arrow and Black Canaray invovling Oliver Queen on „Arrow“, which is a plus as well. The ship faded into obscurity the moment Sara got her own show, but still they loved each other right until the end. Sara was with Oliver in his last moments as it should have been. And that is at least something.

 2.      Karamel (Kara Danvers/Mon-El)

 Active in Supergirl Season 2-3 and Season 5 and The Flash Season 3

 Yes, I love Mon-El and I love Karamel. Live with it. Star crossed lovers that ended disappointingly because the new showrunners prefered Kara single and available for men and lesbians to jerk off to (which sound familiar because we had the same argument in the Supergirl comics and it‘s also the reason for Kara and William going about it not slow burn but frozen burn), there is still a slight chance of endgame when the show ends. After all Mon-El was the Great Love of Karas life, so it would only be fitting if they ended up together. Their chemistry jumped from the screen right into our hearts - and we all know why, this one time RL and fiction told us the same story. Karamel was cute beyond words, Kara encouraged Mon-El to become better and he thaught her to overcome her own perjudices. Valor und Supergirl flew together, if only for a short time. Enemies who became friend who became lovers – one of the best story telling tropes that will always gets us. Time Travel, marriage, and Internet Hatred from certain troops who destroyed the „Supergirl-Fandom“ pretty much everywwhere online aside.

 1.      Westallen (Iris West/Barry Allen)

 Active in The Flash, in Supergirl Season 3-5, Arrow Season 6-8, Batwoman Season 1 and Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 and 5(so far)

 Westallen ist destiny in every timeline, in every universe, it’s a as simple as that. „The Flash“ actually did what none oft he other shows managed: To just tell the lovestory they took from the Comics and set out to tell since the first plans for the show were made. Both Iris und Barry had other loves, great chemistry with others aswell, but in the end they were always ment for each other and would always find each other again, no matter when and where. They did not have it easy, because of the brave decision to follow the New 52 idea to racebend the Wests and cast Iris with Candice Patton. Also the step slibings idea kind of went over the head of the american audience who pretty much think everything that isn’t is incest and gross while they at the same time think twins should bang each other so …. Yeah, the Internet. But other than „Arrow“ or „Supergirl“ or now „Batwoman“ „The Flash“ did stick to its story and to its main couple and it was worth it. We got a wedding, a kid from the future, and much love. Season 6 kind of interreputed the story in a bad way, but we were promised that in the end this experience should bring Westallen closer together than ever. And also there might be an other child from the future on the horizon. Time will tell if those two are true, but until then we had six seasons of Westallen goodness, thanks god for that.
