SPOILERS!!! REFERENCES AND EASTER EGGS IN F&C ep. 8: JERRY
The last of four posts for today.
This episode has a very dark setting. This is the universe where The Lich wished for the extinction of all life. There is nothing here. This establishing shot features the Squirrel's apple cart, from a few episodes ago, but he is long dead and it is long abandoned.
We are introduced to a new cosmic entity, Orbo, who is Scarab's boss but is not to be mistaken for Prismo's boss, whose identity remains a mystery.
Simon name drops a whole bunch of magical items from the original Adventure Time series; the Armour of Zeldron from Blood Under the Skin, the Wand of Dispersement from Sons of Mars, the Porcelain Lamb from Beyond This Earthly Realm, and the magic beans from The Pods.
This episode suggests that the nature of Simon and Betty's relationship was initially quite unhealthy. He was one of her lecturers, and she had an infatuation with him from first sight.
This illustration features the ancient wizards who sealed Coconteppi beneath Wizard City in the Distant Lands episode of the same name.
Simon's expedition to find the Enchiridion was first mentioned in the newspaper clipping in I Remember You, and was mentioned again in Temple of Mars.
BMO apparently survived The Lich's wish because he isn't technically alive. I wonder where Neptr and the other MOs are. Cannibalised for batteries, perhaps. Also, that BRB note is very sad and is identical to the one Finn wrote in Blenanas.
There are various familiar items in the thawed out remains of the Ice Kingdom; ninja paraphernalia from The Chamber of Frozen Blades, Ice King's diary from The Empress Eyes, and of course the tape collection from Holly Jolly Secrets.
Here's a deep cut: That machine in the background to the right of Simon is the machine that held the lightning power that Finn went to steal in What is Life, so that he could power up Neptr. The Demonic Wishing Eye is also in this shot.
For a single frame, Ice King and Gunter can be seen reduced to skeletons. Presumably this was the exact moment that the Lich's wish took effect. Everyone died instantly, in less than a frame.
When I watched this episode for the first time I was confused about where Fionna got the working crown. But you can just about see it inside the drum in this shot, where Ice King mentioned he had put it in his tape.
This is the exact moment the photograph was taken for the newspaper clipping seen in I Remember You.
We first heard the story about how Simon met Betty after they tried to check out the same library book in Broke His Crown. It's cool to see it playing out for real.
Simon throws a pebble at the window and accidentally hits Babette in the face, exactly like Finn and Jake did to Kim Kil Whan in the episode Ocarina.
This is the second time Simon caused Betty to miss this research trip to Australia. She says in Temple of Mars that she never got the opportunity to go, and resolves that her life might not have been so messed up if she'd followed her own dreams instead of following Simon's.
The song in this scene, the motif of which has been heard throughout the series, is by Half Shy, who also wrote "Monster" for Obsidian.
BMO is buried with a paper flower because there are no real ones left alive. His death seemed pointlessly cruel.
THE LICH! He is in his half-disguised Billy form, confirming that this is his wish-altered reality. Like in his other appearances, the first line he speaks is a single word command. This time, the command is "Cease." But with nothing left to do he has become depressed, and he doesn't bother killing our protagonists.
And finally, we are left on this cliffhanger. Fionna and Cake have returned to their world. Scarab has convinced the boss that Simon must be destroyed. And GOLBetty is here to claim them both while the Lich watches on.
This episode's dream features a pair of Lich skulls either side an effigy of GOLB.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye- JRPG-Style Newspaper Default
Sunni's medieval newspaper default is fantastic, but it didn't really fit in my game. So I made another medieval newspaper default! This one's meant to look like something out of a JRPG.
This one's cloned from @episims default newspaper- which has become my favourite newspaper default mesh, btw. It's meant to look like rag paper, which was pretty common for early modern broadsheets.
The text is written in fonts from the Legend of Zelda series- the headline font is Hylian from Breath of the Wild, and the body text is from Ocarina of Time.
The non-sim images, and the small ads on the front page of the newspaper, are taken from the Octopath Traveler games. The Sim images are mine, from my ongoing @kingdomofwildwood story. We've got Queen Yovia, and a couple characters you may recognize later.
Newspaper has a clean and dirty state, and has all EP functions.

"Reunion"
Redraw of old drawing from 2021
Alright i caved.
I had the urge to draw something sad, so i went over to Zelda series to find something to draw there. because in case you didn't know, most of the Zelda games have such Bittersweet Endings. This franchise is an angst goldmine and i live for it.
Especially when you know the reason's. God i feel like crying already :'(
I would like to point out that Zelda has always had a huge impact on me, i think i was about 8 or 9 when i first discovered this amazing series. From being at a friends house and watching them play it, to having one of my own, Twilight Princess might have been my first ever adventure game. Every time i come back to visit this beloved franchise, it always remind's me as to why i love it so much. Even just thinking about the entire lore of and listening to the soundtracks makes me want to tear up. When i first picked up the Hyrule Historia book, i learned a lot as to where the stories from each game takes place and how they are connected. I remember being full on mind blown as i mostly focused on the Twilight Princess section as a kid, and discovered that the Golden Wolf you encounter in the game is none other then Link from Ocarina of Time.
And to this day, the Hero of Time's story still makes me bawl my eyes out, Especially when i relived that story back in 2020, & was quarantined. My Idol "MajorLink" posted his first episode of "A Hero's Purpose" at that time, and man, that was a roller coster of emotions for me. But my favourite part in that EP was when Link reunited with Skull Kid at least seven years after the event's of Majora's Mask, that part made me cry the most lol. A few weeks after the EP, It inspired me to make some artwork about the two forest dweller's, because i love their relationship, and how they parallel to one another. Link died with many regrets, and in order to ease them, he passes on his hidden skills to his descendent. While Skull kid carried his faults of when wearing Majora's Mask and sotted out to find redemption, and found it by becoming a Guardian of the Master Sword to honour his late friend. I always found it fun when encountering the two of them in Twilight Princess, and i wish they had an ending card in the credit's like the other NPC's.
But this drawing is what i can imagine tho.
Also upon hearing that EP 6 of "A Hero's Purpose" is nearly done gets me so excited, i honestly cannot wait to see what happens next :D
Here's the Old Version:
I also wanted to share this from the Twilight Princess Manga because i screamed after reading this part. Poor Skull Kid, he waited so long for Link to come back to the Temple of Time, only to mistake the Hero of Twilight for his long time friend after seeing the Triforce mark.
AAHHH!!! WHY MUST THIS SERIES HURT ME SO MUCH!?!?
Like it really said "what are happy endings?" XD
#legend of zelda#ocarina of time#majora's mask#twilight princess#Link and Skull Kid are bros#and i adore their friendship :3

TLOVM Season 2 Eps 4-6 Ramblings
EP. 4
- More baby twins. I love getting to see these flashbacks of things that were only briefly mentioned during the campaign.
- Trinket origin story! Baby trinket is so adorable.
- Ugh... and right back into this absolutely brutal moment. The first of several moments that are going to be absolutely gut wrenching to see animated.
- Trinket defending his mama.
- “Take me instead you Raven bitch.” Love that they keep these iconic lines from the campaign.
- “Holy shit, I’m amazing.” Humble as ever Kash.
- Love Vex laughing in response to them telling her she died. Because sometimes it’s the only way to process things.
- Vax getting Death Walker’s Ward. And thus the decision that seals Vax’s fate in the end.
- Zahra is so cool. I love her.
- Vax’s flashbacks to the Calamity... I really hope we get a Calamity film at some point.
- And a passing of the torch from Purvan to Vax. Going from Vax getting the shit beat out of him, to him then accepting his fate and coming back and saving everyone. I love it so much.
- The tensions between Percy and Vax beginning...
- The necklace for Trinket!
- Was not expecting that little jumpscare at all... though I really like them adding these Calamity flashbacks as part of becoming the new Champion of the Matron of Ravens.
- Westruun in flames...
EP. 5
- BABY KEYLETH!
- “Pass through fire” reference. I’m a little sad that the context has changed so much, but I appreciate that the sentiment still exists in this world. I guess this also means we won’t be seeing Kerrek at all. (Which makes sense given Lyra and Thorbir were also cut.)
- Grog and Kraven Edge. Simultaneously the funniest and most terrifying relationship in the show. Also love that they included the Grog and Scanlan convo.
- Pike and Grog singing together! I love it.
- And the secrets of the broom unlocked!
- Was Vax this much of an asshole during this part of the campaign? I don’t remember him being this much of a dick towards Keyleth...
- KIMA AND ALLURA! HELL YES!
- “You know what you fight fire with?” “Fire?” “Me.” Never change Grog.
- “We can certainly try.” Fucking incredible. I love it so much.
- I love any time Percy loses his cool.
- ALLURA. FUCKING. VYSOREN.
- I have very little recollection of Keyleth and her dad together in campaign, so I love getting to see them together here.
- I wonder if between the Vox Machina and the Mighty Nein series we’ll get to see Keyleth and her mother reunite.
- Keyleth is the best member of the team. I will not be taking any questions or criticisms.
- Seeing Keyleth’s new look, my brain immediately goes to getting the red tunic to resist fire in Ocarina of Time...
- Plane shifting beginnings.
EP. 6
- And now getting into Grog’s backstory a little more. I love that season one was them solidifying them as a team, and now season two is letting us see more into their individual backstories.
- Oh Percy...
- My recollection is that Scanlan never let anyone manhandle him in the campaign. He always insisted that everyone else heal themselves first and refused to be picked up most of the time. (With the occasional exception during battle like the fast-ball special.)
- Kraven Edge is terrifying
- Sphinxes are so cool
- Arcane Piano. This is ridiculous and amazing all at once.
- During the campaign I never stopped to consider what it actually looks like when Scanlan stop to sing in the middle of battle.
- Scanlan bonding with the Sphinx was not what I expected from this trial. But I love it.
- MYTHCARVER! Time to slay a Pit Fiend.
- Not as brutal as ending on Liam/Vax’s sobs last week, but that was still awful.
- I'm interested to see where this goes because so far Pike is their only healer, unlike the campaign where Vex, Scanlan, and Keyleth were also able to heal when needed.

Ep. 1 of explaining how long Ganondorf has been sealed under Hyrule Castle before Tears of the Kingdom and trying to figure out what timeline the game belongs to.
The common answer here is 10000 years, referring to the prophecy in Breath of the Wild, but it's not that, not even close. It's much more than that actually, since the cutscenes in botw talk about Calamity Ganon, not Ganondorf himself*. In the timeline, Ganondorf hasn't been seen since The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess, both of which are the same Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time.
At the time of Breath of the Wild, these events have become nothing more than myths, tales so old that historical facts have become impossible to tell apart from fairy tales. The series gives so little clues as to how much time has passed between games that it is impossible to determine how much time has elapsed. The only basis we have is that there is 10000 years before BotW and the events of OoT/TP/WW had already been almost forgotten by then. BotW is probably so far in the future compared to the events of other games that it is impossible to tell which timeline it belongs to. But we can try :)
The Downfall timeline doesn't feature a Ganondorf, instead he turns into Ganon when he is sealed in the Dark World and remains as Ganon throughout the timeline until he is killed in The Legend of Zelda.
The Adult timeline starts with the same Ganondorf from OoT in the Wind Waker breaking his seal after ages of being imprisoned. Hyrule is then flooded by the gods after Ganondorf brought darkness over the land. Multiple hundreds of years after the flood, Wind Waker happens and Ganondorf gets stabbed in the head with the Master Sword, turns to stone and is left in old Hyrule to be flooded and forgotten.
Not Ganondorf not Ganon are heard of after Wind Waker and Link and Tetra go on a search for a new Hyrule elsewhere with Phantom Hourglass and Sprit Tracks happening later. I find it hard to believe that BotW could be in this timeline because Hyrule (and therefore Ganondorf and the Master Sword ) is sunken deep below the great sea and new Hyrule is in some other place far away.
The Child timeline starts with Majora's Mask but since it takes place in Termina it doesn't affect anything in Hyrule. The first major events in Hyrule are OoT Ganondorf's failed execution and sealing in the Twilight realm. The events of Twilight Princess take place and Ganondorf is killed "for good" by Link. Four Sword Adventures happens hundreds of years later and the Links seal Ganon within the Four Sword. BUT this isn't the same Ganondorf as in OoT, it is a reincarnation, a "new iteration" of the character, which means that the original Ganondorf's corpse could very well still be around.
I find this timeline to be the most plausible simply because most of the adult timeline happens in other lands far away and the downfall timeline doesn't feature a Ganondorf after the one from OoT turned into Ganon and was killed.
But BotW and TotK could be so distant in the future that this could be an entirely different Ganondorf that we haven't seen or heard of yet. In this case the story doesn't connect with the other ones and is so distant that the timeline literally doesn't matter because anything could've happened. The great sea could've dried out and Hyrule restored, this Ganondorf could be from another story similar to TP's failed execution but thousands of years later with a totally different story. We know so little about the setting of BotW & co. compared to the other games that anything could be possible. It could even be another timeline in itself where Ganondorf was successfully executed. Or it could even be in between two games that had an arbitrary amount of time separating them that ended up being far longer than we thought.
This ended up being longer than I thought, as always.
*The difference between Ganondorf and Ganon is important. Ganondorf is his gerudo form, like in OoT, WW and TP. Ganon is the giant boar from, a physical manifestation of his power and hatred.
These are Ganondorf
And these are Ganon
I'm not including Calamity Ganon and Dark Beast Ganon here because they might actually be a sort of Phantom Ganon, akin to the ones from OoT and WW, and like the blights too. Not actually Ganon nor Ganondorf, but a puppet controlled by him.

Telefortepian-05 Marzec 2024
Ten miesiąc należał do takich dość produktywnych.
Przypominają mi znacznie słynniejszych The Dumplings, choć w przeciwieństwie do nich są znacznie bardziej senni i oniryczni.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time". Szczerze polecam.
The Comet Is Coming - Summon The Fire Losowe propozycje na YouTubie czasem to złoto. Utwór "Summon The Fire" był pierwszym, którym usłyszałem. Nie przesłuchałem reszty albumu "Trust in the Lifeforce of the Deep Mystery" z którego pochodzi wspomniany kawałek, ale natychmiast przeszedłem do ich kolejnych wydawnictw.
Muzyka mocno nawiązuje do tych barw. Zawiera mało melodii, ale nawarstwienie efektów dźwiękowych daje taki efektowny kosmiczny pejzaż. Z naszego rodzimego podwórka i obecnej dekady to bardzo przypomina mi Krakowskiego twórcę o pseudonimie Madis. Wszystkie wydawnictwa obu szczerze polecam, jeżeli jest ktoś w takie atmosferyczne nuty.
Qwesta - BELL OF HORROR: World of Horror Qwesta BGM Collection Ciąg dalszy sekcji chiptuneowej. World of horror, jak możemy wyczytać na głównej stronie projektów, to horror z walką turową utrzymaną w estetyce 1-bit. Lovcrafta. No i ta muzyka.
Kalandra - Brave New World Wysoki przenikliwy głos z hipnotyzującą wokalizą w refrenie oraz gitarą basową tworzącą napięcie. Wracając do samej piosenki to "Brave New World", który przypadkowo wyskoczył mi w polecanych, wywarł na mnie mocne wrażenie.
The Installation - Monophonia - Album z ubiegłego roku. Bardzo ciekawa i dobra eksperymentalna muzyka elektroniczna. Naprawdę zachęcam założyć słuchawki do odsłuchu.
Neon Odin - Allfather - Ciekawy album synthwaveowy.
Skip Cloud - Clouds EP - Kolejny losowy dobry album z niszy chiptune-u. Nawet nie pamiętam jak na niego trafiłem.
Vix.N - Ne Rozumiju- Utwór rapera i wokalisty znad Soły (piękne tereny Beskidu Małego, sam często bywam na szczytach) wpadł mi w ucho nawet przed katowaniem go przez stacje radiowe.
Bisz / Kosa - Północe - Ostatnim razem wspominałem o Biszu i singlu do nowego albumu.
Do następnego końcem kwietnia.
Miłego, Adiabat 23-25.03.2024

Random Info
Man whose name Lexi Pott was unable to say was going to "wake her" and she was very scared for Party meeting him. When they mentioned name Zybilna, she said they "already were too deep" (ep.1)
After Lexi Pott died, Party was surrounded by Fairy Ring made up from mushrooms (ep.1)
Tasha and Iggwilv The Witch Queen are the same person (ep.4)
Chuckles said Gideon will join clowns in Hell and become Eighth Clown Lord of Crazy Eights (ep.7)
Torbek's poem is based on Immortality by Clare Harner (ep.8)
Burly the bugbear has a twin, Hurly, that went missing (ep.9)
Mr Witch and Mr Light got into pact for them to be able to run the Witchlight Carnival in exchange for things it wants (people breaking rules) to Hourglass Coven (ep.11)
The original owner of Witchlight Carnival was an archfey (ep.11)
Fey Pacts leave magical aura around those which they bind that are visible to fae (ep.11)
Whatever is stollen from Carnival always finds its way into Prismeer (ep.16)
The only people from Carnival who go outside its bounds are Witchlight Hands. All other creatures stay inside (ep.16)
According to Mr Light, Party is affected by Fae Magic way more than anyone he've ever seen in his life for some reason (ep.16)
Mr Witch's last words were "Mind the rule of three - future, present, past" and Mr Light's were "Find the alicorn and free the dormant Queen at last" (ep.16)
Brody Snake-Snake went to act at The Theater in Yon and haven't been in any contact with his parents since (ep.18)
Wigglewog is stated to be "very well dressed and very well dead" (ep.18)
Hags used Iggwilv's Caudron to freeze time inside Zybilnas Palace, trapping the archfey inside (ep.18)
Time works differently in Feywild (ep.18)
Torbek is at least five years older than the last time Krew saw him and doesn't have recollection of what happened to him during majority of this time (ep.19)
The magenta liquid in Torbeks machinery is made of Witchlight, an extremely potent Feywild drug made from Witch Cup mushroom found only in deep parts of Feydark; due how hard it is to procure only the richest can afford it, like archfey (ep.19)
Jingle Jangle can only refer to herself in third person since she made deal with Bavlorna Blightstraw because she lost sense of self when she was made to be obsessed with keys but, as far as she knows, Jingle Jangle has always been her name (ep.21)
The only entities that can move between Realms of Prismeer are Hags and few guides that somehow found a way to travel between; the only one known in Hither is a pincer-clawed scarecrow, Clapperclaw (ep.21)
Tither is ruled by Granny Nightshade (ep.21)
Granny Nightshade, the hag that made Clapperclaw, gave its head to the Hag rulling in Hither, Bavlorna, and then she gave it to Agdon Longscarf (ep.23)
In Feywild, unless someone has someone next of kin or ever specified otherwise, after their death their belongings cease to belong to anyone, making taking them away and claiming as your own perfectly legal and not a case of breaking any of The Rules (ep.23)
Person of which voice Krew heard in the dream vision and Torbek heard on the table on which he was experimented on told Torbek telepathically that "They are coming", that Torbek won't be able to separate from "him" any time soon and that number 13 will have some kind of significance (ep.23)
Torbek has in the past unexplainably survived many instances of fatal situations that by any accounts should've killed him (like falling off the Harris Wheel uncountable number of times despite no one else falling off it more than once) (ep.23)
The ash on the place where the unicorn horn was cut off is sulfuric in nature, just like whatever was stopping Lexi Pott's wounds from closing up (ep.29)
The Witch's Cup mushroom is definitely main but most likely not the only ingrediend of the Witchlight in Torbek's containers (ep.29)
Total money: 817 gold pieces

A quick list of video games I have/will have soon that I want to play, as much for my reference as anything else. But like… I feel like I should do something with this list. I’m interested in gaming as a medium, academically; I should take the time to write about it more. Hm. Anyway:
Starfield; Tears of the Kingdom; Sea of Stars; Tactics Ogre Reborn: Baldurs Gate 3; Inscryption; Alan Wake; Cyberpunk 2077; Jedi: Fallen Order; The Flame in the Flood; Fallout New Vegas; Blasphemous; Ghost of Tsushima; FF14; Doom (2016); Borderlands 2
Plus games I’ve been meaning to revisit:
Undertale; Like a Dragon; Cuphead; Hollow Knight; Xenoblade Chronicles 2; Nioh 2; Majora’s Mask; Uncharted: Divinity OS2
And games I’ve been meaning to replay:
Fear Effect; FF4; Xenosaga Ep. 1; The Legend of Dragoon; Chrono Cross; Ocarina of Time; Bioshock
And that’s just off the top of my head; not even going through PS+, GamePass, or Nintendo Online (or whatever it’s called).
So… y’know. Some stuff to do.
