there are countless blogs that have been spammed with death treaths and slurs after being posted on FDC, just because its not allowed on the subreddit doesnt mean they dont come from YOUR subreddit.

im sorry, those same mods blocked a different blog owner on reddit after they asked you to take their post down because they were getting death threats and slurs in their inbox??? for the sake of being atleast somewhat objective i do have to say that they did take down their post. at first though they just blocked them.

how can you possibly continue making excuses IN FAVOR for the harassment but then continue ignoring the problem at hand. if you were actually doing what all of you say you're doing (which is weeding out fakers from diagnosed people apparently), it would make more sense to actually minimize harassment, even if you don't like people, instead of defending it.

i am willing to have an objective discussion about this but i am unwilling to listen to poor excuses or straw men.

Going from throne of glass to crown of midnight and realising sjm is not gonna let Celaena face the consequences of her own decisions

If the main character isn't afraid of the villain, why should the reader be?

sure she almost pisses herself in his presence but clearly she doesn't actually think he'll do anything because she's not even done one single mission for him??

I hate hate hate that sjm introduces these characters as complex and morally gray and then cannot have them do things that are bad with no narrative excuses or greater good justification

Celaena should have killed those nobles because it's her job. Because she prioritises her own freedom above their lives. Above whatever the king has planned

THEN you introduce Archer Finn as the next target and have her hesitate and change tactics

Celaena is an assassin. LET HER KILL PEOPLE

I had to skip the assassin's blade novella because from the very first story she's out here doing the most to free slaves. And it's not the action itself. It's sjms vile writing where Celaena doesn't actually give a fuck about the slaves but as the main character, she must be a white saviour so she'll do this dangerous stupid thing that benefits her or changes the world in no way

And it's not even character development either, Celaena from AB is the same as tog and so far the same in com. She's flat. Perfect except for her allowed flaws. Unchanged by her experiences

Again, you could have easily done this in a different way. A better way. A way that is cohesive with the world and doesn't have the main character be the only moving piece in the world

Have it be that the pirate king is the one smuggling people out of slavery and it's fucking with nobles money so Celaena is sent to kill him. but something happens, maybe someone there is from Terrasen, and without doing a 180 we see an understandable reason she can't keep her cold assassin persona going. She refuses to do her job, leading to her being betrayed or something idk I didn't finish the story

see how easily that then plays into the beginning of tog and makes her even more sympathetic and real without sacrificing the character's flawed morals? Or making her the only active character in the story? Almost like the world is real and exists outside of her?

The Celaena from the end of tog, the one who gave up Dorian because her life and freedom meant more than kissing princes, would have slit those nobles throats.

Mind you she's not even from Ardalan, why does she care enough about these people to risk her life and freedom. If even one of those nobles she let fake their death and escape, tried to get revenge on the king for sending his assassin, she would be hanged at best. How does she know those nobles weren't involved in or benefitted from the fall of Terrasen or slavery in general?? Why are we pretending assassins only kill "bad" people??

She should keep her head down and let Ardalan cannibalise itself until she's hit with a personal connection then have her risk the king's wrath not just for the "greater good", the hope of rebellion but also for herself - for the name Celaena and the life she lived under it

You know how Google now gives tons of ads as the first results when you search, and sometimes gives nothing fully relevant to what you searched at all?

Solutions:

1. The quickest, switch to Bing or DuckDuckGo which so far don't use the direct you to ads method as much, and should give results about as relevant as before Google went to shit. There will still be ad results, but the results will be somewhat closer to what you were actually searching for

2. Please check out searx.space and just try ANY of the linked search sites, bookmark this searx link or any of its search sites that work for you. I found search.ononoki.org through it, and ononoki is life changing to me. Suddenly I search and get an actual answer for the top result (not an ad thats only semi related to my search terms), and I get a ton of other results that actually are about the terms I searched, and I get a list of suggested search terms that may give me things I'm looking for. I tried looking up specific method language learning materials on here, and got Exactly the kind of sites I actually needed (and the books I was looking for but needed to find again) whereas on Google last week I couldn't find Any of that information. I was also able to sort by if I was looking for sites or specific files! I'm begging you if you want good relevant search results that actually give you something you're trying to find, consider checking out the search sites linked on searx.space

i think my other post went a bit out of control.

i actually just wanted to say that i hate people assuming i "survived" anything because i quite literally wasnt on the brink of death or threatened with violence. neither do i like sentences like "i shouldve died when i was a kid but i survived", i dont care if you use it and youre proud of it, go ahead, thats great, but i personally dont think that was the case for me. i just dont understand it either because its not like i wouldve died if i didnt "push through somehow and survive".

i dont know if this makes any sense but

tldr: eon rants about the concept of "surviving" their own childhood and adolescence and how that creates inherent discomfort because we didnt survive anything, really.

wiping off emporio’s tears.....

i’ve been away from tumblr for quite some time. i got caught in my work aaaaaaaaaaaaaand i’d been trying to avoid using social media in hopes of dodging stone ocean’s spoilers for the last batch (though i’ve already finished reading the manga last year).

but what can i say? i feel so bad for emporio because he’s still have the memories from the original universe while his friends don’t. imagine the trauma of living the life with your friends (or other people) who have no idea who you are and the recollection of your friendship are gone with the wind.....

yes i cried....i did.....for real. and look!!!!! i even tried wiping off emporio’s tears on the screen even if it’s laughably impossible. at least i tried, okay?

but something reminded me a few hours after i finished the last batch. i have a cousin who used to work in orlando, florida (the setting where the events of stone ocean took place). she gave me 2 mugs from starbucks several years ago as souvenirs from her trip.

and guess what?

both of the items have motifs from the series. a dolphin.......and a rocket......and palm trees too.............the recurring pieces that make up the whole picture that is stone ocean. it’s freaking crazy because i have these for several years.

it felt like araki knew what was up with me. it’s as if he knew that years from then i’ll be a hardcore jojo fan even if i wasn’t aware of the series’ existence back then.

my workmate even joked that everything was meant to be, that i’m just a late-bloomer stand user. that i’ll be watching the series years later.

it’s a shame though the mugs are just kept in a dusty corner. i’ll be cleaning them and then repurpose them as display pieces along with the jolyne and jotaro plushies i’ll be planning to buy soon.
