"You stuck with something?" You offer, tilting your head to the side in a bid to catch his eyes.

It works. "Uh, I guess I am." His face flushes slightly, eyes darting to your closed textbook, the highlighter in your hand. "Am I bothering you?"

You blow a raspberry and immediately regret it, but you need to own it now. "Bothering me? No way. I'm just finishing up, so I thought I'd offer a hand." Lies, lies, lies.

He hesitates, and you realise the distance is probably what's keeping him quiet.

"I can come over there," you stand and start to pack up your things.

He says your name and you drop your protractor. "That's your name, yeah?"

"Huh? Yeah, that's-- you know my name? I mean," you shove your last pen into your pencilcase and zip it up. "Do we know each other?"

"We take a couple of classes together; your notes always look nice." He says with that straight face of his.

You slide things into your bag and swing it up onto your shoulder, feigning calm. "Oh, thanks. I actually have an--"

"Instagram, for your notes. I follow you." His focus lands back on his laptop and you take the opportunity to take a breath before rounding the table and taking a seat beside him.

He smiles at you and you bite your lip.

"I, uh," he locks eyes with you, puts his elbow on the table and rests his jaw in his hand. "I'm not really stuck with anything."
