ok this is prolly a Dumbass question. but a lot of witchcraft ppl seem to use plants like datura, belladona, aconite, for their psychoactive properties in witchcraft- Are there any witchcraft people that just skip the whole plant foraging/gardening/obtaining bit and decide to just do shrooms or acid, or benadryl/dph i guess if one happens to just like deleriants? dph is rlly bad for health (is so bad) but tbh so is datura,.. though dph you can usually get at a convenince store. Or is it not considered spiritual if it’s a synthetic?
(I dont mean this to be offensive btw i think occult things r cool and im faded than a hoe rn. Coolio blog)
I'm sure there are practitioners who attempt to undergo Poison Path work using only synthetic drugs, but I don't really know anything about that, and so I can't speak to it very well.
I do, however, believe that working with the spirits of plants is at least as important to the process of such work as the psychoactive effects. I can grasp working with the spirit of Belladonna, but I have a much harder time envisioning myself trying to work with the spirit of a drugstore antihistamine. I also believe it's meaningful that many entheogenic plants (such as ones you listed here, including Psilocybin Mushrooms) have a longstanding traditional record of religious/cultic usage by initiated masters in their respective cultures. For these reasons, among others, I would not consider using synthetic, storebought drugs.
I also think there is a big difference between someone who messes around with party drugs and likes the idea of trying to get a bit spiritual with it, and someone who conscientiously dedicates themselves to Poison Path work. Altered brain chemistry can help the mind to see past certain filters and preconceptions, and it can also help one to look inward, but if there isn't a thoughtful, purposeful, and spiritual framework behind using an entheogenic substance, then it seems likely that it's mostly about getting high.
Finally, I want to add that, while substances such as datura are definitely dangerous, they are often used with far more reverence, caution, and frugality when approached by a serious practitioner. My husband is Oathbound to the Tutelary Spirit of Datura, but only once, under extraordinary circumstances, has that included using the plant entheogenically. He undertook the ritual with fearful respect and the utmost care, and it was an extremely meaningful experience for him, but it's not one he's likely to undertake again anytime soon. As he puts it, "She is a harsh teacher." I think part of the reason so many of these plants (particularly poisonous varieties of Ranunculaceae and Solanacea) are as harsh as they are is because they demand commitment and humility (along with self-defense, of course), which is why you pretty much hear only horror stories from most folks who attempt to use such substances lightly.

A friend of mine has a thriving herb and flower garden up north, and I discovered her Datura plant while visiting this fall. It was a nice chance meeting, and even nicer to experience this matriarch plant, showing her show in the midnights of Ohio’s first days of autumn. It’s always worth a second look when you meet a plant in a cultivated garden with whom you have spent time communing with in the wild. Brugmansia, a cousin of Datura, grows easily in front lawn gardens in the state of Georgia (where I live); I’ve also gotten to know this plant family, the Solanaceae, in the mountains of Central America. To see her thriving in cultivated soil, in a much cooler environment says a lot about this tropical plant’s ability to shape-shift.
Datura is a fantastically menacing plant with stark beauty that blooms only at night. The seed pods of Datura are spiked and painful; perhaps mirroring this plants' therapeutic effects. As a result of being high in a certain family of alkaloids, Datura can cause life threatening effects in humans if not handled properly; it is not recommended that you ingest this plant.
Tumblr media
If you connect with someone who is experienced with Datura, show that person and the plant deep gratitude. You may be offered a smoke with a small amount of Datura flower, and this is a way to experience her entheogenic effects with little risk because dosing is simple… just a pinch, and just one puff. This administration can be helpful for calming an asthma attack. Flower essences of Datura can be a protective medicine for the heart, helping one to keep strong boundaries. Shaman of Central and South America will have use of a paste, and as you can guess, this form is concentrated and strong. Most commonly, Datura is infused in oils, salves and liniments to be used as a topical pain reliever.
I collected one small seed pod from my friends garden. One month later, and the dried seeds have loosened from their encasing; what remains is the hollow, spiked former home of so much potential. My preference is to experience Datura by just being with it. There is something to be said for appreciating a plant this complex, that just having it in your garden or meadow is enough for you to get the picture. Among all the uses of this planta sagrada both for medicine and ritual…
A mi, me encanta el trabajo de mis sueños.

Words Grow Red in Alphabet Gardens
[Edited by Amabilis O’Hara]
Spring means nothing to the San Tobit desert.
Tiny temperature alterations barely perturb the barren ecosystem. But the Gardens feel it. From March 22nd to May 19th, they flourish in a sea level canyon. Legend speculates that plants do not grow there. Names do. Delirious letters spell delicious words, ripe for enunciation. Imbibe the fruit’s flesh and Know.
One seeker sojourns for this verbal oasis. She trundles down Gerund Canyon—her Orphic descent carrying her like spores tracing pink arabesques on the perfidious breeze—and follows the winding corpse of the long-dry Ekphrastic Creek. She takes steps with a thief’s conviction.
The Gardens house the rarest plants on the planet. Vegetative consciousness abounds in verdant ecstasy. Reverent flowerbeds bow heads, inviolate in vibrancy. Violet irises roll out the red carpet for this sunburnt bodhisattva.
The seeker sinks deeper. The river rises past her waist, now torso, now neck. Strange amphibians slither in vortices below her toes. Atop a lily pad sits the seeker’s prize. The Gardens’ springtime environment enriches a certain scarlet cactus sporting white clouds of pernicious spines. This peyote-like entheogen promises mystical dispatch. Just don’t let its tips prick your throat during download.
Exhaustion forgotten, she forces the thing into her mouth. Epidermal defenses slice her lips. Lovely wounds weep inside her cheeks as wooly fibers gouge her uvula. Salival psychopomp and stomach circumstance greet the guest.
Head slips beneath the creek—body sinks into murk. Gossamer knots untie—she lies in the grotto at the bottom of the world. Fish filch her nutritious bits. Particles crack off participant participles. The seeker merges with Everything Else. She Knows and therefore is Known.
On May 20th, as always, the Alphabet Gardens shrink away, leaving nothing but the scorched, scarred desert.
The rest is spit in the wind.

People in the US military can get away with using some psychoactive compounds other than alcohol. Many people can
I heard they don't test, or at one point never tested, for psychedelics - too expensive and not enough people, plus I don't think it stays in our system long enough to show up on a drug test. So easy to find things on Grindr with Premium by the way, even without uhhh being gay. I always tell straight people (strags) to use Grindr to find people with things, definitely not those illegal things I was just talking about tho cause that's illegal
Uhhhh Dextromethorphan just don't abuse it daily. It's an NMDA antagonist like ketamine and PCP.
Nitrous oxide whippets from whipped cream. So safe, not bad for the lungs at all, as good for the brain as many hallucinogens. Lasts like a minute, goes great with music
Vomiting is like essential for purging some ancestral karmic debt. I always call vomiting on hallucinogenic compounds, or during mania or psychosis, purging for a reason
So many random mildly psychoactive nootropics, herbal extracts, tea, like lol
These mild psychoactive compounds that are so legal, go good together and enhance the effects of alcohol - people have been combined tons of mildly psychoactive and strong psychoactive compounds with alcohol for thousands of years, then people just stopped in the West
Anticholnergic mad honey is used as a mixer in alcohol in Turkey, it's amazing if you use it the right way, terrifying to abuse anticholnergics though. So scary.
I'm planning on harvested Rhododendron pollen this year and committing suicide while tripping balls on Grayanotoxins and a mix of other deliriants, so I can safely enter the underworld under the watch of multiple entities not one who would try to imprison my soul for eternity
Multople opioids, multiple dissociatives, multiple antichonergic deliriants, a mixture of as many as possible - cannabis, psychedelics
Hemlock whenever you're finished and if you haven't died already, somebody else would have to administer it if the person in question can't
Ambien? Yes, especially Ambien, with other benzodiazepines
Dying from one of these compounds gives too much power to certain entities in the afterlife, so I keep making different death recipes
And yeah, I need to add something like Xylazine too, but never just fentanyl, Xylazine and all that random shit in H that one can easily find at drugsdata, where users and addicts can send in samples to be tested. It's disgusting
Or I might just harvest enough and get lucky with eyeballing the dose :) time will tell if I'm good enough at eyeballing rhododendron pollen without dying :)
Oh yeah, rhododendrons are psychoactive and European peasants have used it for a long time - it's in our epigenome, take some, commune with them peasants who accidentally attached a piece of their soul to Rhododendrons
And if you want to not be trapped in all of the lower vibrational domains I just spoke of, take a mix of 5-HT2a agonists too, with weak 5-HT2a antagonists like kratom, or hydroxyzine
Why? Idk, always felt right to me
I also take a low dose of naltrexone
Anyways, I want land in a bunch of states with legal entheogens. My compounds
Charge rich people more money than poor people to access the information I want to help organize, with other people, to start educating people on Psychonautics properly
Helping them explore different states of mind safely, while learning (mildly, they ain't gotta study like that bro) philosophy and science in a way that is easily digestible, something a child could understand for all these grown ass children
With other facilities dedicated towards treating mental health conditions on the same compound
Forest gardens, clear glass pipes with bioluminescent plankton that charges in the sun in ponds and is pumped through every night

Getting inspired for tonight's class on Atropa belladonna, part of my Plants of the Poison Path Series. Witch's Garden by Sandra Lawrence, Poison Prescriptions by Seed Sistas and Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Plants by the late Christian Rätsch. Also I've gathered all of the belladonna things and my book The Poison Path Herbal. This is going to be a huge dump of information in this 2ish hour class. Sign up is closed but you can sign up for my next class on Datura! Belladonna is my favorite poisonous plant and my main plant spirit ally. She has been one of the main guiding forces in my work on the poison path. There is so much yet to be discovered on this amazing plant and I'm happy to share anything I've come across so far! #DeadlyNightshade #AtropaBelladonna #Belladonna #Solanaceous #WitchingHerbs #HexingHerbs #botanicaobscuraconference #poisonpath #thepoisonpath #veneficium #banefulherbs #poisonousplants #ethnobotany #pharmakeia #ethnobotanical #ethnobotany #pharmacognosy #plantspiritmedicine #plantspirithealing #plantlore #poisonousplants #toxicology #ethnopharmacology #entheogens #entheology https://www.instagram.com/p/CncUiUjrl-k/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
