EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

I, as a Commonwealth Citizen who is a UK resident CAN VOTE in the upcoming General Election. I am extremely excited to try and help in this terrible political climate. I live in Scotland which is a pretty left wing. I am happy to try and fight the extreme right wing Westminster bastards. I didn’t think I would be able to vote, so this is very exciting. Finally a benefit of colonisation. At home I was so active in the political scene, I’d volunteer for The Australian Greens, handing out ‘How to vote’ cards on polling days. I was quite aware of policies and political platforms, and very angry and all the injustice in the system and the nonsense, also just angry at ‘One Nation’. I feel like a kid now, re learning political systems and understanding all the parties and learning about the good ones and the scary ones. There are more exciting left wing parties here which is a delightful change. My local seat of Glasgow Central doesn’t even have a Tory Candidate :D

I chose to live here, I really want it to work out x
