Well had the first tournament of 2019 season. I had a great 45 minutes. It was tuff real tuff. Didn't get my first keeper till almost 2pm. Then God blessed me and had the best 45 min. ever. 2 over 7lbs 1 at 5lbs and another 2 keepers ended up over 22lbs. Almost gave up but something told me don't. This little lady of mine listened to me on what to throw and wear. She was so nervouse reeling in her personal best. Like watching a 4 year-old on a bumbercar ride. Well today was final day of championship. I didn't sleep a wink last night. Well headed out this morning with game plan. Had three spots I was rotating to. Got to first spot bam put three in the boat. Had about seven pounds. Heading to what I considered my big fish area. 9n the way there Yep blew the motor up. Took me over 4.5 hours to get back to launch area. I had the plan but did not count on mechanical failure. Well such is life. Am I disappointed yes but I can't let it get to me. Next season starts in a month. Hope to have engine fixed by then. I want to thank my wife for her support this weekend. She traveled back and forth from home every day to support me. National Championship final results. Well I made a strong showing. Thank you all for the support and words of confidence. The two ahead of me I past and thought I had it. Started shaking with anticipation but someone from behind had one of those days and made up ground and past me by just over a pound. Congratulations to him. He has a 15 year old boat and mine is only 4 years old. So guess you could say he needed it more then me. All in all I am pleased with my performance. I took eigth place. For my first ever national championship I am not complaint at all. End of the season results nationally. Well just checked online to see how I did nationally . I ended up finishing 16th in the nation off of points this past year. Hmm not to bad out of the thousands that fish the ABA CIRCUIT. I ended up actually in second place all ARMY team nationally hmmm not to shabby. I ended up 2nd place in AOY nationally. Yep could have done better there. Yep I'm going Pro next year .....yeah right LMAO. 2017 Recap Well I have had a pretty good year. My sponsors were a big part of it. From my Enigma Rods to my Ardent reels. Gambler baits what can I say awesome. TH Marine your jackplate saved me many of times. Hydro wave I truly believe it has helped me like no other. Trapper tackle just signed up but awesome hooks. Berkeley fishing line yeah nothing to say. Arsenal fishing love the tungsten weights. Freedom Tackle love the swimming jigs. I finished 8th in national championship and 2nd place in AOY nationally. Made AOY in my division. Have several 1st place finishes and to many to count top 10 finishes. I have one major tournament left this year. State championship in the ABA Ram open series. Make too 10 go to another national championship in spring. All in all I have to say I'm happy. But still can't get over the lost winning fish at the boat during the ABA championship is this wrong?????
