What Is MDF And How to Improve Its Processing Quality?
At present, among all the popular materials used in furniture, doors, cabinets, and interior decoration, in addition to solid wood, the other widely used material is MDF.
Meanwhile, with the development of laser cutting technology and other CNC machines, many people from pros to hobbyists now have another affordable cutting tool to accomplish their projects.
The more choices, the more confusion. People always have trouble deciding which kind of wood they should choose for their project and how the laser works on the material. So, MimoWork would like to share as much knowledge and experience as possible for your better understanding of wood and laser cutting technology.
Today we are going to talk about the MDF, the differences between it and solid wood, and some tips to help you get a better cutting result of MDF wood. Let's get started!
Know about MDF:
Mechanical properties:
MDF has a uniform fiber structure and strong bonding strength between fibers, so its static bending strength, plane tensile strength, and elastic modulus are better than plywood and particle board/chipboard.
Decorating properties:
Typical MDF has a flat, smooth, hard, surface. Perfect to be used to make panels with wood frames, crown molding, out-of-reach window casings, painted architectural beams, etc., and easy to finish and save paint.
Processing properties:
MDF can be produced from a few millimeters to tens of millimeters thickness, it has excellent machinability: no matter sawing, drilling, grooving, tenoning, sanding, cutting, or engraving, the edges of the board can be machined according to any shape, resulting in a smooth and consistent surface.
Practical performance:
Good heat insulation performance, not aging, strong adhesion, can be made of sound insulation and sound-absorbing board. Due to the above excellent characteristics of MDF, it has been used in high-end furniture manufacturing, interior decoration, audio shell, musical instrument, vehicle, and boat interior decoration, construction, and other industries.
Why people choose MDF board:
Lower costs
As MDF is made from all kinds of wood and its processing leftovers and plant fibers through a chemical process, it can be manufactured in bulk. Therefore, it has a better price compared to solid wood. But MDF can have the same durability as solid wood with proper maintenance.
And it is popular among hobbyists and self-employed entrepreneurs who use MDF to make name tags, lighting, furniture, decorations, and much more.
Machining convenience
We solicited many experienced carpenters, they appreciate that MDF is decent for trim work. It's more flexible than wood. Also, it is straight when it comes to installing which is a great advantage for workmen.
Smooth surface
The surface of MDF is smoother than solid wood, and no need to worry about knots.
Easy painting is also a big advantage. We recommend you to do your first priming with a quality oil-based primer instead of aerosol spray primers. The latter one would soak right into the MDF and result in a rough surface.
Moreover, because of this character, MDF is people's first choice for veneer substrate. It allows MDF to be cut and drilled by a wide variety of tools such as a scroll saw, jigsaw, band saw, or laser technology without damage.
Consistent structure
Because MDF is made of fibers, it has a consistent structure. MOR (modulus of rupture)≥24MPa. Many people are concerned about whether their MDF board would crack or warp if they plan to use it in damp areas. The answer is: Not really. Unlike some kinds of wood, even it comes to an extreme change in humidity and temperature, the MDF board would just move as a unit. Also, some boards provide better water resistance. You can simply choose MDF boards that have been specially made to be highly water-resistant.
Excellent absorption of painting
One of the greatest strengths of MDF is that it lends itself perfectly to being painted. It can be varnished, dyed, lacquered. It gets along with solvent-based paint very well, such as oil-based paints, or water-based paints, such as acrylic paints.
What are the concerns about MDF processing:
Demanding maintenance
If MDF is chipped or cracked, you cannot repair or cover it easily. Therefore, if you want to expend the service life of your MDF goods, you must be sure to caulk it with primer, seal any rough edges and avoid the holes left in the wood where edges are routed.
Unfriendly to mechanical fasteners
The solid wood will close on a nail, but the MDF doesn't hold mechanical fasteners very well. Its bottom line it's not as strong as wood that could be easy to strip the screw holes. To avoid this from happening, please pre-drill holes for nails and screws.
Not recommended keeping in high-moisture location
Although there are now water-resistant varieties on the market today that can be used outdoors, in bathrooms, and basements. But if the quality and post-processing of your MDF are not standard enough, you never know what is going to happen.
Noxious gas and dust
As MDF is a synthetic building material that contains VOCs (eg. urea-formaldehyde), dust generated during the manufacture could be harmful to your health. Small amounts of formaldehyde may be off-gassed during cutting, so protective measures need to be taken while cutting and sanding to avoid inhalation of the particles. MDF which has been encapsulated with primer, paint, etc. reduces health risk still further. We recommend you use a better tool like laser cutting technology to do the cutting job.
Suggestions for improving your cutting process of MDF:
Use a safer product
For artificial boards, the density board is finally made with adhesive bonding, like wax and resin (glue). Also, formaldehyde is the main component of the adhesive. Therefore, you are most likely to deal with hazardous fume and dust.
Over the last few years, it has become more common for worldwide manufacturers of MDF to lower the amount of added formaldehyde in adhesive bonding. For your safety, you may want to choose the one that uses alternate glues that emit less formaldehyde (eg. Melamine formaldehyde or phenol-formaldehyde) or no added formaldehyde (eg. soy, polyvinyl acetate, or methylene diisocyanate).
Look for CARB (the California Air Resources Board) certified MDF boards and molding with NAF (no added formaldehyde), ULEF (ultra-low emitting formaldehyde) on the label. This will not only avoid your health risk and also provide you with a better quality of goods.
Use a suitable laser cutting machine
If you have processed large pieces or amount of wood before, you should notice that skin rash and irritation is the most common health hazard caused by wood dust. Wood dust, especially from hardwood, not only settles in the upper airways causing eye and nasal irritation, nose obstruction, headaches, some particles may even cause nasal and sinus cancer.
If feasible, use a laser cutter to process your MDF. Laser technology can be used on many materials such as acrylic, wood, and paper, etc. As laser cutting is non-contact processing, it simply avoids wood dust. Additionally, its local exhaust ventilation will extract the generating gases at the working part and vent them outside. However, if not feasible, please make sure you use good room ventilation and wear a respirator with cartridges approved for dust and formaldehyde and wear it properly.
Moreover, laser cutting MDF saves the time for sanding or shaving, as the laser is heat treatment, it provides burr-free cutting edge and easy cleaning up the working area after processing.
Test your material
Before you get to cut, you should have a thorough knowledge of the materials you are going to cut/engrave and what kind of materials can be cut with a CO2 laser. As MDF is an artificial wood board, the composition of materials is different, the proportion of the material is also different. So, not every kind of MDF board is suitable for your laser machine. Ozon board, water washing board, and poplar board are acknowledged have great laser ability. MimoWork recommends you inquiry experienced carpenters and laser specialists for good suggestions, or you can simply do a quick sample test on your machine.
Everyone wants their project to be as perfect as possible, but it is always nice to have another alternative that within everyone's reach to purchase. By choosing to use MDF in certain areas of your house, you can save money to use on other things. MDF definitely provides you with a lot of flexibility when it comes to the budget of your project.
Q&As about how to get a perfect cutting result of MDF are just never enough, but lucky for you, now you are one step closer to a great MDF product. Hope you learned something new today! If you have some more specific questions, please feel free to ask your laser technical friend MimoWork.com.

Why is Manuka Honey so expensive?
Manuka Honey is a special New Zealand Honey that is made from the nectar of the native Manuka plant, called Leptospermum Scoparium. The nectar from the Manuka flowers is converted to Manuka honey over the period. It is a highly valued product because of its unique nutritional ingredients and benefits that makes it so different to other honeys.
Manuka honey is produced seasonally from late spring to summer. The quantities produced vary each year as it is greatly weather dependant. Due to its’ global popularity, the demand is extremely high, and production is relatively low.
According to a recent market study, in 2018, the total New Zealand honey exports now top $350 million a year and have been one of the fastest growing exports at 19% per annum over the past 10 years. These statistics are for all honey, but industry estimates suggest Manuka honey accounts for 70-75% of the total value. New Zealand honey receives a price multiple that is seven to nine times higher than most other exporting countries. New Zealand manuka honey is the most expensive in the world and receives a significant premium over other honey products. However, on a volume basis New Zealand accounts for just 1.5% of global trade.
The Science behind it
There has been extensive scientific research done on Manuka Honey, highlighting its remarkable natural properties that are near to non-existent in other varieties of honey. It has been found that the reason behind why Manuka honey is so special is because of the presence of a naturally occurring compound called, Methylglyoxal (MGO). MGO is formed in the honey from the Manuka nectar, and as the honey matures, the MGO content in the honey has been found to increase.
What is MGO?
MGO stands for methylglyoxal, the naturally occurring compound in Manuka Honey that makes it so special. Not all Manuka honey is created equal and the MGO levels can vary greatly. Every pot of honey is tested for the MGO level and certified for natural MGO content. The MGO number on the pot specifies how much MGO is in the pot of honey. The higher the MGO, the greater are the beneficial health factors and hence higher the price.
We are also providing our consumers with a BIO rating number. It is not as widely popular as MGO rating, but still has a very important role to play in the honey we consume.
What is a BIO rating?
BIO rating means, it is an indicative of the Bioactive compounds in that pot of manuka honey. Bioactive compounds are extra nutritional constituents occurring naturally in plant foods in small amounts, however in quantities enough to produce bioactive effects. The other relevant health promoting effects of these Bio compounds are anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, neuro protective, cardio protective properties. Polyphenols also play an important role as a prebiotic, increasing the ratio of beneficial bacteria in our gut, which is important for health, weight management, and disease prevention. They also promote brain health and protecting against dementia.
What type of Bio active compounds are present in Manuka Honey?
The important Bioactive compounds in manuka honey are Phenolic acids and flavonoids. There are more than 100 flavonoids and phenolic acids present in Manuka honey, of which the most important ones are 3-Phenyallactic acid, and gallic acid.
New Zealand government has done an extensive research on manuka honey definition, and they included 3-phenylactic acid as one of the main chemical components in manuka honey.
Zealandia’s manuka honey contains a high number of phenolic compounds, providing a relevant antioxidant capacity. In fact, Manuka honey exhibits the highest value in terms of phenolic content and antioxidant capacity compared to other types of honey around the World.
Honey Sourcing
Our lovely ladies (worker bees) work hard, travel far and wide to gather our precious cargo, nectar, which eventually turns into honey. The Manuka bush grows in deep forests, hills, mountains and coastal regions. However, there are special places where the natural properties and concentration of Manuka are higher than other places. The bees have a science of their own and are smart enough to learn the locations of these remotely located hives.
The central plateau of New Zealand is one such place where good quality Manuka honey comes from and it is also home to Zealandia honey, Taupo. Here amongst the hills and mountains, the area is so remote and untouched, that sometimes the only way to access the hives, is via helicopter! This is pristine part of New Zealand is free of harmful pollutants, sprays and toxins. Zealandia is lucky enough to source honey from such remote locations.
Manuka Honey testing in laboratory
Every jar of honey that the consumer buys on the other side of world must be tested extensively for its attributes as defined by Ministry of Primary Industry (MPI), New Zealand. In 2017, the MPI finalised a robust and sophisticated scientific definition that can be used to authenticate whether a honey is New Zealand Mānuka honey. The test for monofloral and multi-floral Mānuka honey requires all the 5 attributes described in the MPI documentation for testing Mānuka honey. If the honey fails to meet one or more of the attributes, it cannot be identified as monofloral Mānuka honey – but may still pass the test for multi-floral Mānuka honey.
Zealandia Manuka range undergoes extensive testing for measuring the MGO, DHA (dihydroxy acetone), HMF (Hydroxy methyl furfural), BIO+, the 5 chemical markers defined by the MPI, and many more.
To ensure that you are getting the real deal, authentic New Zealand Mānuka honey, we verify the Methylglyoxal content of all our honey and display the amount of MGO per mg/kg on all our labels. A unique feature of Zealandia Honey is that, we also test for bioflavonoids, which are an active component in honey. The BIO rating displayed on our label is the total bio-active compounds in that jar of honey. We also test to make sure that there are no additives in our product, we test for 150 pesticides and C4 sugars (to check for adulteration) in our honey.
The IANZ & ISO certified independent laboratories we use verify the content of our honey before we ship the order to your destination.

Well-being benefits gained
Manuka honey played a prominent role in traditional Maori healing. It was not till late 20th century that modern science made significant inroads into studying its properties and benefits.
Research confirmed that manuka honey has remarkable natural properties that are near to non-existent in other varieties of honey. It is proven that Manuka honey is high in anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. Most commonly, manuka honey is used to
treat sore throats and colds
helps with reducing gastric ulcers and flatulence, improves the health of gut bacteria due to its pre-biotic properties
Helps with promoting oral health but reducing tooth decay, gum inflammation and bacteria associated with plaque formation
Wound healing- helps with speedy healing of burns, cuts, abrasions

5 Common Mistakes in Laser Engraving and How to Avoid Them
Making the best use of the design equipment does take time and it needs years of practice and skills to gain expertise. Though, there are still a few mistakes that are pretty common and can happen even if you have years of experience. Over the years, designers have experienced varied issues which have left them baffled as they had no idea how to resolve them in the best way possible. This led to the invention of bright ideas which explained how the process of laser engraving can be improved for the better.
It needs a lot of concentration and commitment to not repeat those mistakes and keep getting better with your work. machine plate online has years of experience in dealing with laser and phenolic engraving and our team is very committed to providing the desired results and keeps getting better at their work. Let us further discuss some of the most common mistakes that are usually made during these processes.
1) Engraving Fabric But The Laser Burns Through The Material
To avoid such circumstances from occurring firsthand, one has to ensure that they truly understand the fabric they are working on and what temperature can the fabric withstand. Some fabrics can easily sustain high power such as canvas, denim, or leather but the delicate fabrics would probably suffer. It is always advisable to test your setting at a small piece and continue when you get the desired results.
2) Acrylic Doesn’t Produce A Frosty White Engraving
This mainly happens because of the wrong acrylic in the application. Two different acrylics are used for different applications while laser engraving. Liquid acrylic is used to make objects and sheets of cast acrylic where the liquid is poured into different molds as per the requirement of shape and size. It is much preferred because it turns frosty white when engraved, the other one of extruded acrylic which is less expensive than the latter. This is mainly because it is used for high-volume manufacturing techniques. This technique gives more clarity to the product but fails to give a frosty white finish.
Also read about, Can You Laser Engrave Stainless Steel?
3) Inconsistent Glass Engraving
It is usually seen that the laser engraving fractures the surface of the glass and does not provide the deep engraving required. If you wish to have a smoother surface with a white frost finish then using a lower resolution of around 300 DPI is preferred. The black graphic should be about 80 percent and use Jarvis dithering for a smooth finish.
4) Wood Engraving Produces A Different Result In The Same Setting
Wood is probably the best material for laser engraving. The cutting process on the wood becomes a lot easier and engraving is more precise on the wooden surface. Cherry or maple wood is the lighter version of wood which are perfect for engraving but if you are using a dense wood then it might require more laser power to cut.
5) The Laser Engraver Doesn’t Perform As Fast Anymore
Maintaining the machine for the design equipment is very essential because a good cleaning machine will give you much better results. If there is a decline in the performance of the machine then a deep check remains critical. Ensuring such steps will certainly help to ensure better laser engraving results and overall personal performances

Stainless could be described as an alloy that is highly resistant to rust and corrosion. They are extremely light but are very tough in terms of durability and strength which makes them one of the best metals in the market. The metal could be used for laser engraving but using the right technique for laser engraving remains critical.
Can You Laser Engrave Stainless Steel?
As we briefly discussed earlier, yes we can engrave stainless steel. There have been misconceptions surrounding engraving is not suitable for stainless steel. But it depends on the environment, applications, and tools used which when combined rightly will give you the desired results.
The process of engraving involves the use of laser beams which are used on the surface of the metal and which in turn create the engraving according to what you wish to design. Deep engraving is another popular method that is quite similar to the latter but involves engraving at a slow pace and the process has to be repeated multiple times. The property of stainless steel which involves being corrosion-free and great durability is the driving factor behind its use at a high level. Laser engraving is used by the companies to mark the serial numbers, create barcodes, and generate id codes, part numbers, or engraving the company logos.
What Is The Best Method To Mark Stainless Steel?
Laser engraving the steel also has several methods and people could choose a particular method according to the requirement. C02 laser engraving is one method that requires a pre-treatment whereas methods like fiber laser could also be used to engrave the steel. One of the most commonly used methods is deep laser engraving which ends up giving the user a pretty clear design. Another method is annealing which is pretty similar to laser marking but is termed as less intrusive.
What Kind Of Laser Do You Need To Engrave Stainless Steel?
There are prominently 2 types of laser used to engrave the steel are prominently known as CO2 laser and fiber laser. Co2 laser used either a helium-neon gas or carbon dioxide and is also known as a gas laser. Fiber laser has come into prominence more recently and is much more efficient than the latter.
How Much Does It Cost to Laser Engrave Stainless Steel?
The cost of laser engraving the stainless steel mainly depends on the design one wish to engrave and the size of the design. The prices are often time-based and start somewhere around $250 an hour.
Will Engraved Stainless Steel Rust?
A very common concern has always been that the process of engraving might cause rusting on steel but using the corrosion-resistant laser engraving technique would surely help to avoid any such concern. Machine Plate Online is well known for CO2 laser engraving as well as fiber engraving so one can easily contact our team and get ready for the best services.

Why Choose Laser Marking Over Printing
Giving a mark to a product or a component is an essential process of manufacturing. It plays a very vital role in many aspects. Globalization has bought a huge change in the pattern of how we trade. A free flow of goods has become a priority and of international significance. Amidst all those billions of products flowing across the borders, each set of products need their own set of recognition. This is exactly where marking them with identity comes into play. A proper mark can be of even greater significance when it gives you a quick detail about its uses. Laser marking or you better know it as laser engraving is a process that creates a character or a logo, graphic, or a bar code.
Also Read For: Different Kinds of Engraving Techniques
A manufacturer could better understand the significance of marking parts of the product with a unique number or maybe bar code or a logo. When a customer while using the product comes across some issue with a specific part, one can simply use the special mark to identify and order. This also helps when you want it to get repaired or replaced that unique number or logo is going to help you in every case. Companies and manufacturers figure out several ways and ideas to understand which marking way would be the best and will suit a product. Though two existing methods remain popular for quite a time, one being printing and the other is through the label. Several types of research are conducted to look for better alternatives that could be cost-effective and better in performance. One such product is available in the market which fits better in those two parameters; laser engraving has been a game-changer for quite a time. Before one plan to choose a laser engraving method for the products, it’s important to understand what exactly laser engraving is and what are its several benefits.
What exactly is laser engraving?
Laser marking or you better know it as laser engraving is a process that creates a character or a logo, graphic, or a bar code. One doesn’t require a physical tool to etch the surface or any other type of ink which is used to etch the products surface, but a tool emitting a laser light is used over a material or whatever surface one is looking to be etched and it the laser light produces a very deep mark or as per how depth owner wants for the product. There is a lot of laser marking intelligent machines available in the market which are capable of completing the laser engraving with utmost precision. There are different options available with a huge gap in price ranges. A machine comprising of a powerful desktop could help in laser engraving for low-key work and would be available at a way cheaper price in comparison with a technologically advanced integrated machine which will give great results.
Benefits of laser engraving
Moving further, let’s discuss the various benefits laser marking provides:
1) Cost-saving from no consumables
Finding different ways to reduce the cost of the product requires several examinations and research. Each step you take matters and does make a difference when it comes to effectively cutting or reducing the cost of manufacturing. So the manufacturers producing goods in high quantity could easily shift towards laser marking because adopting it will help them reduce the running cost significantly. An ink engraving or a logo could easily cost a manufacturer a good sum of $0.07 to $0.09 for a mark. While using the laser marking would only cost a sum of almost $0.02 per mark which will make a huge difference when a manufacturer produces products in bulk and have to use the mark a lot.
2) Permanence
Now, this is a very important aspect which could never be ignored. The stickers used on the products could many times easily tear off. In the case of ink, it can fade in adverse circumstances that include rough weather. But if you opted for laser engraving, you have chosen something which is going to last long. Doesn’t matter if it’s hard to weather conditions or a risk to tear off, laser marking can bear it all. It helps for those products which can last for a couple of decades and even after a long 20 years if you wish to change or replace them you could easily track the details with the help of laser engraving mark.
3) Visibility
A printed logo or an ink logo can often fade or face some other issue which makes it hard for a customer to seek detail. But when laser marked it is precise and clear with a far better quality which will help to seek detail about the product even after several years.
4) Speed
Time is crucial for manufacturers and a lot of it could be saved when using laser marks for your products. Machines are a lot quicker and thus the saved time by the manpower to look after it could be used at other productive work.
5) Flexibility
What makes laser marking a huge success comes with the fact that it could be used to engrave on several kinds of different materials like plastic, metal, or other natural material. An ink marker might not work on metal properly but laser engraving covers it all.
6) Minimal maintenance
A lot of printers consume a good amount of time to get them cleaned. Many times one might have to clean it daily or every couple of days. Laser marking acts very crucially at this stage because it doesn’t use any tricky consumables to be cleaned now and then.
If you are looking for other details or wish to know in-depth about laser engraving, we at Machine plate online are ready and much willing to help you in every possible way. We have a long time of experience in laser marking and could assist you in doing it the perfect way.

An incorrect panel increases the chance of an electrical shock, which can damage or seriously damage your home. It happens in tens of thousands of homes every year. Replacing old electrical panels incorporates new technology designed to work more efficiently and keep your electrical system running smoothly.
Provide More Consistent Power
Old power grids are not capable of providing the constant power required by modern electrical appliances and technologies. Without enough power, you can overload your circuit and constantly overload your circuit. So instead of trying to figure out if you have too much installed for your electric panel to handle, you can upgrade your panel for constant power supply.
Add More Circuit During Upgrade
Some electrical panels don't have the space to add more dedicated circuits, which means you can't do much with your electronics. You can also check phenolic label maker. With a better electrical panel, you can have the right circuit to protect your home and meet your electrical needs.

Difference between Aluminum vs. Stainless Steel Nameplate
Nameplates are very common and one of the most essential components which is used widely. They are used in a variety of ways. You would often spot a warning sign or a brand promotion sign or machine identification on stainless steel nameplates or at many times on aluminum nameplates. These nameplates are made very durable and are made to withstand the cruelest of temperatures and environmental conditions. A lot of material has been time-tested over the years to make the most durable nameplates, but as of now, 2 materials stand apart and are widely used in the market for making nameplates, stainless steel, and aluminum. They both are considered a wonderful option and have been surviving the ups and downs for years. But when it comes down to the comparison between these two products, they do have some vital differences that are worth considering. Everyone eventually wishes to choose the best metal for their nameplates so further we will discuss the characteristics of both of these metals and how are they used.

Aluminum vs. stainless steel nameplate
The installation process for both metals is pretty easy and convenient. It could be done simply through the rivet holes or an adhesive. The text written over these metals is high invisibility and one could also choose from various design options which makes the text look more attractive. Let's compare the two metals and try to understand their significant qualities.
1) Durability
This is probably one of the most important aspects as nameplates are expected to last for a long time and to come up to the expectation, they have to fight the environment, weather, and other dangerous substances and remain in shape while keeping the text in its original form. Physical damage is also something nameplates have to face with those scratches and tears on them. it has to be tough to be resistant to these physical damages. Both the stainless steel nameplate and the aluminum nameplates have good resistant quality against such issues. They do not corrode in water which happens to be a big problem faced by other metals. Aluminum has got a heavy layer of aluminum oxide which makes it a very good metal against corrosion. It is a great ally against the harsh weather conditions and would also be near perfect against chemical attacks. The only setback it faces against the stainless steel is the fact that it will easily show a dent or a scratch. Steel has got almost all the qualities that make it a superior metal; it also has an aluminum oxide layer and a chromium layer which gives it a superior level of protection. Stainless steel nameplates are thus in greater demand as their performance overall remains superior.
2) Weight
Weight also plays a crucial role in deciding a metal. You would often hear that for military or aerospace purposes if aluminum has to be used, it is often mixed with some other metal to give it the required strength. In terms of strength to weight ratio, aluminum alloy performs very well than most would expect. If anyone wishes to have a nameplate that is less in weight but very good at strength, aluminum nameplates are what you are looking for. They are also very versatile in terms of taking different shapes, they can easily be molded which makes them a better alternative when you are about to form something unique. In the case of stainless steel, it is their weight that provides them the required strength.
3) Customization
A very important aspect includes how easily a metal could be modified. Both of these two metals react differently when subject to customization.
· Anodization
Anodization Is a process in which color could be added to your nameplates through a thick surface that is formed during this process, which gives aluminum nameplates a very attractive look while the same thing could not be done with stainless steel.
· Photo sealing
This process allows the ink to be pressed under the surface of the metal and subsequently sealed. The process is also known as metal photo sealing. It could be done on aluminum very easily.
It has to be understood that these customization works do affect the nameplate's durability. So one has to be sure about what process does one wants the metal to go through and what effects it could put on the durability of your nameplate.
Common Uses of Aluminum nameplates and stainless steel nameplates.
Both these nameplates of different metals are used in a variety of ways. For brand promotion, equipment labeling, aluminum serial number tags or tags on steel, identifying badges, and even the warning signs.
We list specific items that could be made on an aluminum nameplate as well as a steel nameplate.
Aluminum nameplate
· Barcode nameplate
· Decals
· Equipment identification tags
· Fire door plates
· Valve tags
· Asset badges
Steel nameplates
· It could be a designation plate
· A work for military place cards
· A work on instrument panels
· Control panels
· Brand promotion
· asset tags
cost is one of the deciding factors while choosing your metal. Aluminum in comparison to steel is cheap and is easily available. Stainless steel in comparison is very expensive but is also highly preferred.
Industries that use aluminum nameplates or stainless steel nameplates
Both metals are highly preferred for various reasons across different industries. A lot of essential work is done through both of these metals. Industries like manufacturing, aerospace, defense, and energy use both of these metals in a high quantity as per their requirement. The reliability of both these metals has given them a very special place for the work done towards the upliftment of the country.
Types of metal nameplates that use both
Many works could be done over a specific metal but we list a few works that could be done on both of these metals and will give equally good results.
· Etched metal nameplates
A special chemical is used on the metals through this process, which attacks a part of the metal and leaves behind the required design. They work well with both metals.
· Engraving
In the process of engraving the metal has to be cut in the shape of the design required. In comparison to steel, aluminum is easy to cut and work on. If a CO2 laser is being used that steel could also be used as a metal to form the required shape easily.
· Screen printing
Both metals are good for screen printing. But the method is not generally preferred because of its less durability when compared to other methods.
Both metals have got their pros and cons. But no one could deny that they have got exceptional durability and provide premium quality. We at Machine Plate Online are happy to help you for making beautiful customized nameplates. Our team will assist you in deciding on whether to choose stainless steel nameplates or aluminum nameplates for the best outcomes.
