Day 452 - South Korea 🇰🇷 Seoul to Mongolia 🇲🇳 Ulaanbaatar — Here’s a photo of my new emergency cold weather running kit. It feels very much like Tokyo, it’s much more sprawling than i imagined and overall nothing like North Korea, obviously. The shops are the same as Tokyo, the streets operate the same, and the atmosphere feels the same. I think it has something to do with the people’s attitude. — After the 3 hours flight, which actually felt more like 9 hours, we made it to Mongolia. Traffic was terrible and all of us were feeling the affects of a very smoggy city, even sat in the taxi. Hmmm i wonder what tomorrow’s run will be like. — THE FACTS — ❌Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. ❌Over 47,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that's 129 men every day. ❌Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 11,000 men every year. ❌1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime. ❌Over 330,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer. — 🏧 Please support my journey by donating just £5 to Prostate Cancer UK via my Just Giving Page. Day 381 - United Kingdom 🇬🇧 Birmingham to Cranborne — Today was once again a day of unpacking, washing, sorting, charging everything, backing stuff up, getting my head around the next 3 months of travel logistics and finally re packing. — Thanks to my mum and dad for continually supporting my journey and helping the team and I to get the job done. — I haven’t had much time to do anything else but frantically get ready for a 04:00am start to country 106 tomorrow. Day 378 - United Kingdom 🇬🇧 London to Birmingham — Following on from yesterday’s long 24 hour journey back to the mother land, I was now bound for Barbican tube station and then a half mile walk down the toad to see Universal Visas. The journey wasn’t over yet. This photo is from my launch with sponsors @energizermobile — As I’ve said many times; when I return to the UK, it’s usually for multiple reasons. I was returning primarily to speak at the national running show in Birmingham but also needed to collect 2 visas. Afghanistan 🇦🇫 and China 🇨🇳 — However, Due to a rather frustrating 65 minute wait for my bags in Heathrow and the initial 50 minutes delay taking off from Saudi Arabia i was now 2 hour behind schedule and rushing to get to the tube and into central London before my time slot at the Chinese visa office expires. — I had a call from Maz. Maz is my lifeline when it comes to visas. He does everything from form filling to sorting out the juggling act of passports and logistical planning. It’s not easy to gather visas for multiple countries all over the world and with a time constraint... so far Maz has been a saint and work des tirelessly to make this happen. Everyone at Universal Visas are simply fab. Thank you. — The phone call from Maz, and then subsequent calls to family and my team, we decided to abandon the visas and head straight to Birmingham. Afghanistan would have to be moved again, and China we will have to re think. I’ll likely fly to Hong Kong instead to avoid the visa restriction. Hong Kong operates on a separate administrative process to the rest of China. Luckily for me. — So it’s now 22:00, after a faff in London, and a long train... it’s now time to sleep after my 48 hour maze of a journey. I’m staying in a hotel just over the road from the NEC and so I’ll be up and out early to head over ready to support the other speakers. Day 372 - United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 Dubai — One of the best days out, a mid afternoon nap, more tasty food and new sponsors @energizermobile @energize_yourlife — It’s 23:45 and I’ve just finished packing my bag ready to say goodbye to a brilliant country and more importantly a brilliant family. Rod, Gaëlle, Charles, Joséphine, and Sistine - I will miss you all! @marylebonemum — At 06:00 this morning I splashed water on my face, brushed my silly long hair behind my ears, slipped my shoes on and jumped in the car with Rod. It’s still dark. Just around the corner is Bulgari Island 🌴 @bulgariofficial We reached this island just before sunrise and waited. — Within minutes of us arriving the sun slowly painted the sky red, and the city filled in the horizon line with huge pointy skyscrapers. What a view! It was still and silent. We looked, and listened, nothing but the sound of an overhead plane. Bliss. — We had breakfast, rested and I even managed to have a little afternoon nap. Not done that in a while. The family and I visited a few art galleries, went for brunch and generally took my mind out of the trip for 24 hours and rested. In the evening I headed over to the Player Bar in the Sofitel hotel in downtown Dubai.
