most trans people I know have very nuanced opinions about this... and thank g*d for that.

good parenting, bodily autonomy, age for medical decisions, harm reduction, psychiatrical, non-psychiatrical medical concerns, etc, all matter. politicizing this is one of the worst things that has happened to the modern LGBTIQ movement.

i believe in the protection of infancy, period.

sometimes that means recognizing child abuse from deluded fundamentalists and i can't trust people who support conversion therapy, ignore one-sided bullying in traditional communities, or deny our existence or call the taliban "based", to do that.

other times, it means mental healthcare more complicated than "affirming" or imposing language bc that's not how this works, especially with neoliberal healthcare where you're a client and not a patient, not all people will have more satisfying lives from transitioning, and i can't trust people in our community who treat non-transitioning people with gender dysphoria as something to be written off or excluded from discourse bc its 'politically inconvenient'

caring for people to have their most authentic lives and live in freedom and in health shouldn't be a politicized agenda. i will stand on this as alone as i have to, but i know who i am, and i won't let anyone come in the way of vulnerable people whether they have a cross or a pride flag.
