my fatal flaw is that i have a simple idea using a common trope and then have to make up super complicated villains + lore + plot to execute said idea.
#i wanted to write a fic where izuku leaves UA and becomes a vigilante and katsuki goes crazy looking for him?#sure yeah why not design an entire physics-based quirk theory complete with equations#i wanted to write a fic where akutagawa gets 'taken' and atsushi rescues him#sure okay well i guess now i'm reading dante's inferno and referrencing text to make sure i have it all completely accurate#including doing a ton of research into religion lmao#wanted to write a fic where deku gets stuck in a time loop where katsuki dies every time#ended up creating more lore about gearshift in terms of skipping through time thats physics accurate#now i wanna write a fic where BEAST!aku and OG!aku switch places#now i need to design a whole-ass new physics accurate villain and backstory as to why they would want to send him to another universe#why can't i just be like 'there was an accident. it was done. they have to live this way. then it gets undone.'#like why do i have to do this.
