[Birthmonth 2024 OC Arts #2]
Discordea and Tsukina on a (d-) fast food diner.
Discordea: Surely you could have picked a better place...
Tsukina: My budgets are unfortunately tight.
Discordea: says the person who ordered doubled 4-in-a-row.
Tsukina: I'll make an exception on that one.
Discordea: well are we also bringing something to the fallen?
Tsukina: I guess Cheese DX-es would do.
Discordea: That is such a flustering response and you said you were having a tight budget.
Tsukina: *embarrassed* Please it's only I can afford.
Discordea: hehe... I'm only kind of teasing ya. Sucks no AutOrderettes running atm... I wonder how Dysnome is doing.
Tsukina: Well you can trust Lemon for that.... I mean they built EN-D-VR, that's one of their scientific crafts. Surely nothing will go wrong knowing that.
Discordea: heh, I guess so... I wonder if we should give them an Ede-
Tsukina: Please, keep your unholy humor somewhere else. Still bizarre you even know and have that.
Discordea: Still beats me. I feel like I'm still puzzled and befuddled about it anyway.
Tsukina: What do you mean?
Discordea: ....It's not my liberty to talk about it atm. I'm sorry, despite I lo-

First Meeting at Fennel Fields
AO3 Link ——————————————————————————————
Pairing: Adrian Chase x Agender!OC (Rue Iqbal)
Rating: 13+
Summary:
Rue Iqbal, who recently moved to the town of Evergreen, stopped by at Fennel Fields to enjoy a meal when they made a potential romantic connection with the cute busboy, Adrian Chase.
A/N: This is part 1 of the series, Star Blossom. Stay tuned for part 2
Tumblr media
It was a cold, late afternoon, with light gray clouds and a glint of sunlight in the sky. Driving in a silver car, Rue Iqbal admired the quaint town of Evergreen, with rows of mom-and-pop shops attached together and small trees and shrubs planted in every corner of the sidewalks, their light green leaves slowly fading into dark orange, reflecting the beginning of the autumn season. Their face was drenched with sweat and makeup and their ribbons loose from both sides of their curly hair. Wearing a light blue knitted vest with a slightly crumpled shirt and flared midi skirt, their Mary Jane shoes that Rue polished early in the morning had lost its shine, along with their white stockings that turned gray.
Despite their favorite song, La Vie En Rose, playing on the radio, Rue’s head was throbbing with slight pain and their right eye felt heavy, their left eye covered with eyepatch. But with their last meal after their mid-afternoon prayer, Rue’s stomach rumbled for hours, forcing them to drive to a nearby restaurant and eat as much as their heart desired. If they had the option, they craved a large paratha with thick, spicy mutton curry and a side of pakoras, just like how their paternal grandmother made them years ago.
Unfortunately, grandmother isn’t here to cook their favorite food, let alone comfort their heavy heart and dried tears. They’re on their own, in a new place, without anyone by their side.
Parking their car in front of a restaurant called Fennel Fields, Rue stared at their reflection in their rearview and touched up on their makeup and hair, before spraying an ocean-scented perfume on their bare neck. Taking a deep breath, they emerged from their vehicle with their light blue handbag and approached the restaurant their co-workers raved about earlier. The interior of the restaurant was painted with warm yellow that harmonized with the mild lighting and toasty surroundings, and the scent of Bolognese sauce and fresh rosemary welcomed the only customer.
All the seats were vacant, with saucers and a set of forks and knives placed on top of serviettes. Rue noticed that there were only a few staff on duty, and focused their gaze towards the round clock hanging in the middle, which was half-past five. As Rue glanced at the freshly mopped wooden floor, the restaurant hostess approached them with a warm smile on her face and a menu in her hands.
“Welcome to Fennel Fields,” she greeted. “Are you here to dine in or takeout?”
“I’m here to dine-in,” they replied in a cordial manner.
“Alright, miss, right this way,” she said, as she led them to their seat, which was a table with only two chairs and a painting of a willow tree on their right.
“Thank you,” Rue said, as they sat down and hung their handbag behind them.
“You’re welcome, miss,” she responded, handing them the menu. “Feel free to take your time to browse through the menu and ring the bell once you’re ready to order.”
“Thank you, ma’am,” they said, browsing through the menu, hoping the restaurant had options for vegans and vegetarians, just like what their co-workers claimed. They were right‌, because there is a vegan section on the menu, which is completely plant-based. Five minutes later, Rue rang the bell and a waitress approached her table, with a notebook in her hands.
“I’ll have a Caprese salad with a strawberry Italian soda,” Rue stated, as the waitress wrote it down on their notebook.
“Will that be all?” she asked. “A Caprese salad with a strawberry Italian soda?”
“That will be all,” they affirmed, handing her the menu. “Thank you so much.”
“No problem, miss.”
As the waitress left, Rue leaned against their seat and as they listened to the tranquil music in the background and turned to a simple willow tree painting on their right, sinking deep into their thoughts. They couldn’t help noticing the yellowish-greenish colors that were used for the leaves, along with the shadow that casts underneath it with light gray colors. Rue remembered the willow tree in the park one sunny day, where they used to sit whenever they felt like their burdens were too heavy for them to carry on their back and weeped without shame and guilt from people around them. With orange butterflies fluttering and the scent of nectars in the air, it was the perfect way to feel home.
But they weren’t home anymore. They’re in Evergreen, where there’s no sight of enormous skyscrapers and the mysterious green forest loomed at the edge of the town.
Before delving further into the new town, the waitress returned with their Caprese salad and a glass of strawberry Italian soda, bringing them back into the present. Rue thanked the waitress and glanced at their meal, which consists of fresh tomato slices, mozzarella cheese, and basil leaves, drizzled with olive oil and a hint of black pepper. It may not be vegan, but last they checked, mozzarella cheese did not contain rennet, hence, it was safe for them to eat. As they took a bite of their meal, they tasted the tanginess of the tomato and mozzarella slices mixed together with the pungent taste of basil. With the balancing flavor of the olive oil and black pepper, Rue’s eyes widened as they glanced at their meal, taking another bite and stuffing it in their mouth, satisfying their hunger.
They then took a sip of their strawberry Italian soda with a red-striped straw, and sighed in relief at the sweet taste of the fresh strawberries that were mixed with the bubbly club soda and the cooling ice cube that refreshed their body, despite the cold mist fogging the restaurant’s window.  Despite the fog, however, Rue pictured the golden leaf that blew towards their bedroom window early in the morning, resembling the ones that were scattered near the willow tree. The street sweeper usually piled them up into a mini mountain, and Rue used to jump towards the pile and let the leaves rain towards their giggling face, until the sweeper showed up and cursed at them.
That was years ago when they were still in high school. As their mind flies towards their past, they did not notice the busboy approaching their table, who had been admiring their beauty since the moment they stepped foot into Fennel Fields.
“Excuse me, miss,” a busboy asked, carrying a jug of strawberry Italian soda. “Do you want a refill of your drink?”
Rue focused their attention towards the busboy who was standing in front of them and traced their eyes from his head to his toned forearms, all the way to his leather black shoes, which looked almost worn out. Wearing a red cap with matching shirt and a beige apron, his bespectacled eyes reminded Rue of a forest at night, which complimented with his porcelain skin and dimpled smile. Rue could only sip their soda as they admired the handsome busboy sitting in front of them, who resembled one of those main leads in a Korean drama, except for the fact that he was clearly a white man whose age they could not guess. But if they had to bet, the busboy looked like he was either in his late 20s or in his early 30s, though not more than 31.
Their eyes then moved towards his name tag on his apron before nodding in response. “I would love that, Adrian, thank you.”
He rapidly blinked at Rue’s response, gripping on the jug’s handle. “How did you know my name?”
“It’s on your name tag,” they pointed out, much to his relief.
“That makes sense,” he chuckled, as he poured their drink into their glass. “Though it feels weird that a customer would refer to a busboy or a busgirl or a busser by their names, since we mostly do the dirty work that the waiters don’t dare.”
“Yeah, bussers have to carry stacks of dirty dishes and refill drinks, which is really tiring. Like, I remember carrying 15 dirty dishes from one table and both my arms and legs were super sore.”
“Wait, you were a busser as well?”
“Yeah, it was my first job back in high school. Whenever school finished, I worked from around 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and then woke up for school at 6, and then the pattern repeated.”
“I know that feeling,” he empathized with their experience as he leaned closer to their ears to whisper. “Not to mention you’re underpaid, a lot.”
Rue’s eyes widened as Adrian whispered in her ears, though they understood that he could not say it openly at his workplace since it might get him fired, or worse. Speaking of the workplace, Rue realized that they may have been taking loads of Adrian’s time, since he was still on duty right now.
“You should head back to work,” they reminded him. “I don’t think your boss would be happy to see you mingling with a customer.”
“Please, you’re the only one here,” he snorted, as he took a seat and placed the jug on the table, facing Rue. “Besides, I was really bored and there’s nothing much I can do anyway, aside from wiping the table, which I’ve done that for like a hundred times.”
Rue burst into laughter. “You talk to customers when you’re bored?”
“Nah, I usually would be sitting in the back and listening to music, but since you’re here all alone, I thought you could use some company anyway, since you look lonely and all.”
“I appreciate that,” they replied. “So how long have you worked here?”
“Pretty long, I guess,” he shrugged, looking upwards. “Probably around a year or two. Or maybe three. I don’t know. I’m bad at math. Anyway, let’s talk about you. What do you do for a living?”
“I’m a high school chemistry teacher. Today’s my first day of teaching at Evergreen High School. Ever heard of it?”
“Oh my gosh, yes, of course I heard of it. I used to go there, along with my older brother and my best friend, who’s close with my older brother,” his eyes brightened, reminiscing his past to Rue. “If I could remember, Mr. White was my chemistry teacher, until he got killed by a drug lord, which I’m not sure how to feel, since chemistry isn’t my favorite subject and also the fact that I zoned out at every one of his classes.”
“So you and your older brother and your best friend, who’s close with your older brother, were alumni of that school?” they recapped, feeling goosebumps on their skin on Mr. White’s death. “Well, that explains why the superintendent hired me immediately after the interview.”
“I’m not surprised,” he shrugged. “A lot of teachers are leaving the profession, which I don’t blame them, since the pay is low and students can be dickheads sometimes. Are your students a bunch of dickheads?”
“So far, they seemed fine,” they laughed with amusement. “Though it’s too early to judge, since it’s only the first day.”
“That’s totally understandable,” Adrian let out a pleasant laugh, before proceeding to dig through their history. “So if you don’t mind me asking, where are you from, cause I’ve never seen you around town before, so yeah…”
“Well, I was born and raised in Malaysia, but I came to America when I was fourteen,” they explained, releasing a shallow sigh. “I lived in Kane City for eight years, which was famous for their willow trees, until I decided to move to Evergreen, where I’ve only been here for two days.”
“That’s a lot of moving,” he remarked. “So you must be a city girl, right?”
Rue chuckled in response, much to his confusion. “Did I say anything wrong?”
“I’m not sure how to say this, but I’m not a girl,” they clarified, pressing their hands together. “I’m actually agender, which means I don’t identify with any gender at all. Basically, I’m genderless, so yeah…”
“I am so sorry about that,” he babbled, aghast at his own behavior. “I should have asked before assuming your gender, which I did, and now I think I made things awkward between us.”
“No worries about that,” Rue assured him. “I get that a lot.”
“It’s still not an excuse to misgender you, though,” he looked down on the table, avoiding their eyes, before clearing his throat. “Anyway, to make things less awkward, what pronouns do you use?”
“I go by they, them, ze and zir,” they answered. ‘What about you? What pronouns do you go by?”
“I go by he and him pronouns, and I’m also a cis male, just to clear up the confusion between the both of us.”
“Alright, looks like we’ve cleared up the air,” they clapped their hands once. “So, how long did you stay in Evergreen?”
“Since I was born, which was practically my whole life,” he answered, gazing at Rue’s right eye. “I never left Evergreen, and I don’t think I ever will. I mean, I know it can be boring and all, with nothing much happening in this town, except for the fact that we were almost invaded by a bunch of butterflies, which I obviously have nothing to do with, but otherwise, there’s nothing much here except for a few crimes here and there.”
“Honestly, I would rather be almost invaded by a bunch of butterflies than to deal with corrupt cops and some billionaire who tried to poison our rivers,” Rue chortled. “Besides, butterflies are beneficial to the ecosystem since they contribute to our food production.”
“Yeah, of course,” he laughed nervously, wiping the sweat off his forehead. “Those butterflies are definitely beneficial to the ecosystem, alright. Anyway, let’s talk about your home country, Malaysia, since I’ve never heard about it before, so yeah, what’s it like down there?”
“From what I remembered, I would hang out at the esplanade with my friends while admiring the ocean up close, along with the blue sky above. I also remembered the alleyways with artworks of children riding on the bicycle and playing on the swing. I also remembered enjoying swimming in the river near my grandparent’s house and the water would be freezing cold, despite the immense heat outside. Oh, there’s also a rice field nearby as well, and it’s a beautiful sight when it’s being harvested.”
“It sounded like paradise.”
“It did, actually,” they smiled sadly. “If only I could stay there forever.”
“Do you miss your home country?”
“Yeah, I do miss Malaysia a lot,” they sighed. “I could come back there, but I’m not sure whether I would recognize it since everything changed for the past eight years.”
“Well, you know what they say, if you’ve been away from home for too long, you end up becoming a foreigner when you return home.”
Rue nodded as they stared distantly at their drink, contemplating Adrian’s words. Their memories of their eight years old self enjoying a strawberry ice ball replayed in their mind like a rolling film camera. They were sitting all alone in an open-air shop and counted every trishaw that rode past them on the quiet streets. The shopkeeper knew their parents well. Whenever Rue came to his shop, he always smiled and talked to them in their native language. Rue would love to go back to those moments, but they no longer live there anymore, nor speak their native language that their parents and teachers from her old school had taught. Even if they go back, they would no longer be the same little girl that everyone recognized.
“Everything alright, Rue?” Adrian interrupted their thoughts, his brows wrinkled. “You seemed sad.”
“Yeah, I’m alright,” they insisted, grinning from ear-to-ear. “I was just taking a trip down to memory lane, that’s all.”
“Is it something I said, cause if it is, I’m really sorry about that.”
Rue shook their head. “You didn’t do anything wrong, Adrian. It’s just that I realized that I forgot how to speak Malay, which I used to be super fluent along with English, but since coming here, I could only converse in English, Japanese and Korean, which is embarrassing, cause I made an effort to learn Japanese and Korean but somehow I didn’t do the same with Malay, which was the language my parents and my grandparents and the rest of my ancestors have spoken, even during the colonial eras. So yeah, you’re right. If I returned to Malaysia, I’ll feel more like an American tourist instead of a Malaysian who returned home.”
Adrian can’t imagine losing the ability to speak his native tongue, but listening to Rue’s cries on forgetting the language that their ancestors have spoken made his heart ache. They would insist that everything seemed fine, but he noticed their suppression of tears through their right eye, since the other eyes were covered with an eye patch. He wondered how they lost half of their sight in the first place, though it’s not the right time to ask about it.
“It must be painful forgetting a language you used to be fluent in,” he empathized in a softer tone. “And I’m sure it hurts to feel disconnected from your home country and its culture. But I’m confident that it is never too late to re-learn the Malay language and reconnect with your culture. It definitely won’t be easy, but I’m sure it will be a healing journey for you and your family, if you’re still in touch with them, of course. Are you still in touch with your family?.”
“Unfortunately, no, but you’re still right,” they smiled at Adrian. “It’s never too late to re-learn the Malay language and reconnect with my culture. After all, we persevered through the colonial era and the Japanese occupation during World War II, so I don’t think I’ll give up anytime soon.”
“That’s the spirit,” he cheered, as he noticed their blue handbag hanging on the chair. “Is that a Kate Spade you got there?”
“How did you know?” they gasped, grabbing their handbag.
“It’s the leather for me, cause it’s made of crossgrain calf leather, which is the least expensive kind of leather and also more durable than the regular soft leather, perfect for carrying loads of stuff like files and books, since that’s what teachers usually carry all the time.”
Rue raised their eyebrows as they leaned towards him while still clutching on their handbag. “You have such eyes for details. Does anyone ever tell you that?”
“No, people just call me stupid and clueless, which is actually true, since I can’t tell who’s being sarcastic and I also don’t feel emotions like people do.”
“You’re kidding, right?”
Adrian shook his head. “No, it’s true. People always tell me that I’m dumb and that I talk too much, which is also true as well.”
Rue blinked at his statement, wondering whether he was pulling their leg. Surely, a man who accurately guessed the brand of their handbag would not be stupid, clueless, and dumb. As for the emotion part, Adrian makes them feel like they’re talking to a close friend that they’ve known for years instead of a stranger they just met an hour ago.
“What makes you think that you’re stupid and clueless?” they asked, tilting their head to their right.
“Well, one time, I noticed my best friend was really occupied with work and all, so I decided to help him do his laundry. Unfortunately, I may have used the wrong detergent, so his clothes pretty much turned pink. Understandably, he got mad and he wouldn’t allow me in his trailer for two weeks, so yeah.”
Rue burst out laughing that they almost choked on their saliva, before clearing their throat and straightening their posture. “I don’t think I can consider you being stupid, since I also accidentally turned one of my white dresses pink. But honestly, at least I could wear that dress, since most of my clothes are blue and white.”
“I threw my best friend's phone out of the car, thinking it was trackable, but his dad found him anyway because of his helmet. I realize now that it was a dumb thing to do.”
“Wait, helmets are trackable?” Rue bit their cheeks in thought.
“Well, my best friend’s helmet was trackable since his dad specially built it, and his dad is a racist nutjob‌, which you shouldn’t worry about, since he’s dead and I definitely have no part in his death, so yeah.”
“Okay then, that’s good to know,” Rue nodded. “So, you mentioned you have an older brother, right?”
“Yeah, I did,” he replied with a grin. “His name is Gut, and he’s like way older than me, like 13 years older, and he was alright. We only see each other during the holidays, since he has his own life and all.”
“Huh, it must be nice having a big brother. How about the rest of your family? Are you close with them as well?”
“Kind of, I mean, I only see them during the holidays, so yeah, it’s all good, I guess.”
Rue hummed in agreement as they stole a quick glance of the time. It was already 6.30 p.m. It dawned on them just how swiftly the past hour and a half had flown by, their conversation flowing seamlessly and effortlessly. Yet, Rue was hit with their most important part of their everyday obligations, which was their daily prayers. In 20 minutes, their next prayer would start, though they can’t bear the weight of leaving Adrian all alone, despite their short but captivating connection they had shared earlier.
Letting out a resigned sigh, Rue took out a piece of a blue memo pad and a Sharpie from their handbag, puzzling Adrian with their unexpected action.
“Everything okay, Rue?”
“I would love to stay and chat with you longer, but I just realized that my next prayer starts in 20 minutes, which I can’t be late to, so will it be okay if I give you my phone number instead?
Adrian’s eyes sparkled as Rue handed him their phone number on a blue memo pad, which had an ocean scent attached to it. It’s not every day a pretty person like Rue would give their phone number to him. He felt like floating in the air as angels surrounded him with their soulful opera.
“Of course you can,” he grinned, folding the piece of paper inside his pocket. “I would definitely call you, after you’re done with your prayers. By the way, what time is your last prayer, cause I don’t want to disturb you while praying, you know.”
“You can call me at 9,” they suggested, getting up from their seat. “I’ll be done by then.”
“Sure thing, I’ll definitely call you at 9,” he got up with them. “I can’t wait to continue our conversations together.”
“I’ll be waiting,” Rue winked, before realizing that they only had one eye, prompting them to turn around and ignore his soft laugh behind them. “Just don’t be late.”
“See you soon, Rue,” Adrian waved as he watched them leave Fennel Fields. Looking down at the phone number that they gave earlier, he paced out of the restaurant through the back door and performed his signature dance move at the empty alleyway, not giving a fuck whether his co-workers were staring at him weirdly.

Hi Duch :3 I saw a post about your clone OC and I don't see any other posts about it. Can you tell me more about it? I think Commander Vitamin and the Pill Boys are very interesting. Not that I'm complaining about your constant posts about Plo 😅 😅 😅
Hi ♥ ~ !!! Omg thank you ;/////; them boys be nice ♥
@saengakand I have an AU where Plo Koon gets temporarily assigned to a very problematic, rehab-fresh medics turned battle squad because they're no longer allowed to handle any medical drug due to their obsessive/addictive nature and potential high-risk foolishness turned murder if they get triggered really bad.
You know the trope; bunch of secretly murderous bebbies who are so damn polite and well-behaved, but get unhinged on drugs.
In this AU, the Wolfpack gets assigned to Pong Krell for the sake of hilarity and even more chaos.
So, Plo takes care of the Pill Boys and they jive so well because unlike the Wolfpack, they aren't shit, feral boys (I love my 104th so much). The Pill Boys are super nice.
They don't cuss.
They don't provoke.
They always ask the General's permission for anything. Anything including if they could sleep while en route to a mission, ask if they could get cups of caf for themselves, asks if they could hit the refresher after the mission and doesn't do so unless Plo dismisses them and it's adorable AF, okay?!
They are always very willing to help anyone without a second thought often getting them heavily injured. <- And this is the kicker because since they have been 'casted aside' due to their obsessive/addictive nature, they cannot be treated in medbays unattended and with proper and thorough diagnosis because they have been known to purposely injure themselves for a fix.
They are excellent marksman and most of them (I think we made them only five or six) are snipers.
All in all, THEY NICE BOYS who'd help an elderly cross the street and smoke crack right after. Which is something Plo needs to fix.
With Plo being very patient and attentive — too attentive to the Pill Boys, we made unhinged, overly jealous and loyal Wolffe get into a row with them when the Pill Boys lost Plo in a mission (he got captured but he's alright).
Some silly scenes are Plo going all "Commander" and you'll hear Wolffe and Vitamin answer at the same time. Wolffe just mad sus and Vit (Vitamin) is just good bebbi boy who looks at Wolffe, squints, and then back at Plo.
Saengak and I haven't built the squad yet, but we had Commander Vitamin ready.
Commander Vitamin (Vee-ta-min) is very level-headed like his troops. A very chill guy who'd just give you a nod if you needed anything and would do it. If you tell him someone robbed your purse, he's not about that chase life, but he'd have that thief sniped on both calves and then calmly walk towards it to apprehend it.
He'd pick up on some quirks to determine if you're lying or not, but it's not always accurate. If he fucks up because you lied to him, you best keep your windows and doors shut because this lil freak will sneak in with the squad and make 'day after yesterday' excessively inconvenient as they are not a very violent and vengeful squad.
They would:
Dump all your toothpaste but leave it blown up enough to make you think it still had the same amount from last you remember. So you end up squeezing it for minutes just to get that last itty, bitty, paste out that barely is the size of a pea.
They are resiliently patient enough to organize your laundry into your dressers and closets and replace the clean ones with the dirty ones.
They will empty your detergent bottle and swap it with bleach.
They will glue a piece of super small pebble at the end of your shoe so when you walk, you'd stop to dump the 'sand' or 'whatever it is inside your shoe that you feel'. So when you think it's all good and you slip your shoe back in? Still there.
The Pill Boys are also in possession of so much sand to use for 'retribution'. So please expect your pockets, how ever small, big, hidden, used and uncommonly used they are, to have handful of sands.
Thank yo for your interest on Commander Vitamin and the Pill Boys. Here they are with Plo (LOLOLOLOL)

about the wip ask thingie: i hope it's not too many for one ask but i'd be really interested to see what these are about ? <3
-something something Victorian Steampunk Fantasy AU
-Née en 1789
-Schoethe Prügelei
Nah, it's not too many. I just hope you don't mind that I'm just babbling about them, not giving out snippets, since I'm not yet that comfortable with the scenes I have written for them. Here we go!
The "Victorian Steampunk Fantasy AU" is one of my more out-there Tatort AUs - meaning, I'm borrowing all my Tatort darlings and a crime-related plot, and implant those into a world that leaves me to a bit more creative freedom. In this case, the setting is basically Carnival Row, because the aesthetic is KILLER. It's like a late 19th century industrialization age city with a ton of immigrants, not all of whom are human. And this kind of Urban Fantasy is what I wanted for my Tatort blorbos, changing them into merpeople (who live in the city's canal), harpies (who are mostly exploited as factory workers), werewolves and fauns and fae with their own issues to deal with. Throw in my local high-society dryad wanting to find out who killed her husband in a politically perilous situation, me setting up my idiots to investigate, and some interspecies romance for good measure. Too many characters, too ambitious.
"Née en 1789" is a little less complicated, in that it's just historical without Fantasy aspects. It's original fiction tho, no fanfic, and it's the story of my OC Laurielle de Laine, who started out as a Polly Oliver joining the French army in 1805, dressed up as a young man. By now, I've come to think of Laurie as nonbinary, even though time and age lack the concept as well as appropriate pronouns. Laurie's family has some scars to bear from the revolution, and it has left Laurie with several emotional issues. Eventually, an uneasy relationship between Laurie and Napoleon begins (bc Napoleon is a slut; Laurie shares him with his wife and a polycule of three girlfriends...), but they spend a lot of time yelling at each other, and eventually Napoleon questions Laurie's loyalty as a soldier when there's a Russian officer taking an interest, albeit more of a personal one. After trying out the whole concept of betrayal, Laurie's way leads back to France and then all the way to St. Helena, outliving Napoleon and, years later, fighting in another revolution.
"Schoethe Prügelei" - I think you were around when this idea was born, and fed me material to work with XD Wasn't it one of the early polls that came around and asked which of them would win a brawl in the mall parking lot? And I went, "I need to write this"... and haven't written it so far, even though it shouldn't be more than a little one-shot. It's modern Goethe and Schiller beating the crap out of each other over literacy / philosophical differences, and then going, "huh, he's kinda sexy with blood on his face". They'll go out for a coffee by the end of it, but not before some mutual bitching.

Why are rain frogs so round? What's /inside/ of them around such an itty bitty skeleton?
So it turns out this is a really interesting question.
The first thing we must be aware of is that rainfrogs as we see them in videos of them squeaking are not quite the same shape as they are when at rest:

[x]
But you are quite right, they are very round. This is exemplified by the skeletal photo you refer to:
Tumblr media
[X]
So what are we seeing?
Well, firstly, note that the body cavity in these frogs actually envelops the femurs, such that only the tibiofibula (fused in frogs) and the tarsals and metatarsals are outside the body. The arms are quite similarly enveloped, but a bit of the humerus does extend outside the body cavity too. This predisposes them to a rounder body shape.
Next, note the ilia - the U-shaped bone in the pelvic region. These in some breviceptid frogs are synostotically fused with the sacrum - that is to say, they are bound by bone-based connections to the bow-shaped vertebra at their tips. This whole joint seems to be quite smooth, and as a consequence, the back of the frog is quite smooth. The other thing we can see here is that the urostyle (i.e. the frog version of a coccyx) juts quite far beyond the ischium and pubis. This extends the body cavity beyond the hips. Note also that the pelvic girdle seems to be largely below the spine, rather than the typical position for frogs behind it and continuous with it. This makes the legs sit below the spine, rather than at its end, enhnacing the vertical roundness of the animal.
Next, let’s talk some soft tissue. Now, I’m not as familiar with soft-tissue in frogs as I am their skeletons, so you’ll have to bear with me a bit (rawr). Beddard (1908!!) studied the soft tissue of Breviceps verrucosus Rapp 1842. It seems that the majority of the body of these frogs is actually muscle. Beddard noted that muscles join the leg at the knee that extend into the body cavity, such that the inclusion of the thigh in the body cavity is further accentuated by musculature. The rectus abdominalis muscle is unusually large, extending from the lower abdomen up and around the sides of the body. Indeed, this large size appears to be the pattern with all of the major muscles, though in the throat the typical arrangement of large and small muscles is somewhat reversed. On the lateral side of the head, there is a substance that is not muscle, but appears to be loose tissue in which sits what is apparently the thymus gland.
There is a very large gap between the end of the urostyle and the anus (one fifth of the total length of the frog), in which there are almost no muscles, save for the one surrounding the lower cloaca. On either side of this area, between the posterior-most muscles of the thigh, lie two large ‘lymph-hearts’, as described by Beddard. These are between one quarter and one third of the total length of the frog. A further lypmh-sac sits between these lymph-hearts and the skin of the femoral region, and they are thus probably analogous to the femoral lymph-sacs of other frogs.
I find it interesting that Beddard (1908) did not mention any glandular formations in the dorsal region. As is evidence from many images (see below), these frogs are able to secrete a white, sticky, noxious substance from their skin (which they actually have to use during amplexus, as the male is too small relative to the female to mount her properly, and so he sticks himself to her with his glandular glue… kinky).

These glands do not apparently take up a great deal of the cutaneous tissue, and so I suppose are of no consequence to the size of the frog, especially relative to its enormous muscles.
The diet of these frogs consists almost exclusively of hymenopterans and isopterans (ants and termites). Neither of these insect groups are particularly fatty, so it is little surprise that their bodies appear to contain no large fat deposits - fatty bodies extend from the gonads up to the lungs and heart, but these comprise only a tiny fraction of the frog’s mass, and don’t contribute to the round shape. Instead, their bodies are extremely muscular, allowing them to be adept burrowers, ideal for their fossorial lifestyle.
So TL;DR: rain frogs are little balls of muscle (maybe the largest muscle mass relative to body mass of any vertebrate? science just doesn’t know).

TCM oc idea:
Name unknown
Born 04/23/1944
Zodiac: Taurus
Eyes: blue/purple/red
Hair: white
Gender: female
Born to a religious cult that saw her as both cursed and blessed so they kept her as an object and not a person. She doesn’t go out in the day ever. They ask her for blessing and when they don’t come because she’s just albino and not magic, they beat her senseless. When she “grants” their blessing (always a coincidence) she eats better than normal which is less than the animals normally. The cult lived on a secluded farm back in the wood behind the lee processing plant. The cult had very strange beliefs that she didn’t understand. Definitely not mainstream. As long as she did what they told her and never broke the rules, they didn’t even tie her down. There was no when she could go anyways. But she would nightly wander the dark wood. For years, she was being en into that cult of weird hippies. Night after night hoping to find some people somewhere that might be able to help her. When she eventually finds the slaughter house and is confused (as a vegetarian), she looks around and is so curious and excited. But morning was coming soon and so she’d left. This happened several nights in a row for several weeks but little did she know that Thomas was watching her from the distance, any time he could. She looked like she was made of moonlights and stars, almost glowing in the dark when the moon touched her perfectly. Etc idk maybe I’ll flesh this out

I haven't finished many drawings lately, I got a little stressed due to health issues I think, but today I managed to do something with this sketch of my oc Nephli that I did a few weeks ago :D
I'm trying to finish writing the novel and also to keep doing a bit more of the comic "The song of the grasshoppers", but both things are difficult xd
I still haven't figured out a way to draw the comic that doesn't bore me after a few pages. It bothers me to make several drawings in a row with the same materials and style, I also get tired when I'm in the same scene for a long time and I don't like making panels, so it is quite difficult to motivate me to continue it. On the other hand, I would like to be able to see it finished and for others to read it as well, a dilemma.

Prompt! 6. “I’ll just hold the baby in! I can make it.” + your choice of character!
cw // tmpreg, labor
"How close are the contractions?" Aram pressed the gas pedal down slightly more, inching himself closer to the rear of the car in front of him as if that would help along traffic.
The voice on the other end was lilting, shaken from the latest pain as he tried to gather his bearings again.
"I uhh.. mmh... like every seven minutes? Maybe? Are you coming home? I need you...!" Row whimpered again as he lowered himself down onto the ground after having rocked through the latest contraction. His eyes pricked with tears, he really regretted not being honest to Aram about the contractions earlier this morning and now? He knew how long it would take for his husband to come home from work, especially given the traffic.
Aram bit his lip as they came to a halt yet again. Glancing at the traffic in front of him. "I'm trying to get back as fast as I can, babe. But I think there was an accident up ahead. Do you remember the classes?"
Row sobbed. "I do.. but Aram, I want to go to the hospital, where there's doctors! And help if necessary, what if something goes wrong?! We have a room booked right?" He hissed harshly as his abdomen contracted once again. "Dammit!"
"Are you contracting again? ... Oh god, sweetheart, I think-"
"No!" Row groaned as he clutched his legs tightly in attempt to hang onto something for control over his body. "No, I- I'll just hold the baby in! I can make it! You just need to get here!"

Ashes In The Fall - Chapter 22: Old World Underground III
Book 2 of the Calendula Chronicles
Resident evil, Wesker X OC
Story Summary: Marigold Ashford escaped the mansion, only to face new incarceration with a familiar jailor. She may yet have to make a deal with the devil, if she can unearth what this Faustian bargain would cost her.
There is always something left to lose.
Chapter summary: Marigold and Nikolai make a detour to the suburbs to retrieve a cache.
Tumblr media
Racoon City suburb, 7:20am
Idyllic. That summed up the rows on rows of picket-fence-enclosed houses they passed en route to their destination. The houses themselves were new-ish builds, no more than fifteen years old. Their designs called back to the nostalgia of the postwar era, something America had dreamed up, packaged, and exported as the manifestation of their great American Dream.
Umbrella’s hands. Umbrella’s money. At least half of the residents had high-level positions within the company, in some capacity. The other half were relative innocents - those who’d prospered in the wake of Umbrella’s growth and influence within Raccoon City. Realtors, business owners, managers, all beholden and dependent upon the company town.
The only people out at this hour were teens going to early football practice. People walking their dogs. People, enjoying their morning coffee, relishing the early school season when their kids were out of the house again, while getting ready for work.
The neighborhood had been getting quiet lately. Plenty of people had taken vacation taken and not returned. Some, like former resident Kate Everett, had simply disappeared with a suitcase one morning and not returned. Umbrella executives and others wearing their logo visited the homes of each of these disappearances. Those passing by would look away quickly, as if witnessing a meltdown in a grocery store.
At home, the neighbors would whisper about it. They’d wonder. Far too slow, the residents of this sleepy little suburb were beginning to wake up to the nightmare. All too many of them still believed with full hearts that if they kept their heads down and avoided getting caught up in the strangeness slowing taking over the town, they could weather the storm.
None of them would survive the days to come.
Dr. Linda Baldwin, a senior Umbrella researcher at the above-ground research and development centre was neither a deserter nor a casualty as of that morning. Linda’s work had kept her at the facility on high alert, mostly keeping to the dorms for security’s sake.
That was fine with Linda. Her own house here in Raccoon City had come with a truly weird amount of security protocols and paperwork. Something about inheriting it from the Birkins before they moved to be closer to work. It wasn’t even useful security that might protect her in an outbreak; only vestigial things that her lease had required her to leave alone once she took possession.
So when a beat-up Honda pulled up in front of her house, no one noticed.
----------
Nikolai backed into the empty driveway with care. The house had a hedge on either side for privacy. It was an odd anachronism in most suburbs. Here, it fit into the character of the place; promising comfort, so long as no one looked too closely.
“It’s quiet,” his passenger commented, voice subdued. The BOW was on high alert, eyes flicking rapidly around the tidy street as if waiting for someone to come racing out at them. Her ice-blue irises seemed to be flecked with blood (it had gotten worse since she first entered his car), but otherwise, she didn’t seem to be the worse for wear. “They really have no idea, do they.”
“Eh, people are bad at dealing with change.” Nikolai shrugged. “They probably know something’s up. They’ve been hearing about murders all summer. At this point, they’ll believe anything that brings some relief. This neighborhood will probably hold out a bit longer than the rest. So many labcoats, lots of protocols.”
Marigold’s eyes were unfocused, looking off into the middle difference. “Not all of them. It’s already here. In the houses. They’ve already started to turn.” She blinked, took a deep breath, and focused back on Nikolai. “Let’s just get this over with. I trust you brought equipment?”
Moments later, Marigold was hefting a case the size of a small coffin to balance it on her hip. Nikolai stared at her, then shook his head. “Right,” he muttered, reaching in to grab his field kit from the backseat before closing it up. “That thing’s easily a good three hundred pounds or so. I’m going to assume you can manage the stairs.”
“Wouldn’t be the first time.” She jerked her chin towards the door. “No one’s inside. I’d be able to hear them. If you know the security system, we should probably move before someone wanders by.” She rolled her eyes. “Americans do love their questions and idle chatter.”
Nikolai, who did hold that information to the exterior systems thanks to his assignment, simply nodded. “That they do. Let’s get to work.”
----------
The upstairs security system seemed oddly extensive, but Nikolai seemed to have no problem working around it. Apparently destroying troves of evidence was his specialty. A red light lit up in the interface, and Nikolai glanced her way. “You’re quite sure that you took care of the police chief's end of this, yes? From what I know, he’s in much too deep for money to turn his head easily.”
Marigold’s lip curled in distaste. “Even if he’s awake - and I doubt that, I really do - he won’t pass anything to USS for the next several hours.” She noted Nikolai’s skeptical look and shrugged. “No, really. I made sure of it.” Leaving it at that, **she hefted the case up for a better grip. “Are we good to head downstairs, or is there some sort of deadly laser grid to shut down? This is a bit awkward to carry.”
Nikolai chuckled. “That would be a dead giveaway in a residential home. Besides, the smartest bear and the dumbest intern overlap too much for a system like that to be useful.” The system beeped, and the light turned green. He grinned and stepped away. “A bit awkward. That thing usually takes two men in fighting shape to move at any decent speed, you realize.”
Marigold shrugged again. “It’s fine. I don’t have the skillset for the lighter work here. Better to get the rest of it inside quickly.” She turned and looked around. Whoever owned this place - the mail dropped on the table by the door suggested it was one Dr. Linda Baldwin of Umbrella - had eschewed living room furniture for running hookups for a washer and dryer into that room from the kitchen. Something about it was…odd. Doctor Baldwin seemed to be living as if in a much smaller space than she was. Marigold quickly identified the door to the basement stairs and started to move.
The basement itself was unfinished. A single wall had been drywalled over, with the rest of the large room left as cold concrete. A dusty washer and dryer were set up by the bottom of the stairs next to some boxes labeled OLD CLOTHES, but very little else.
The owner didn’t like to come down here, then. That explained the cramped setup upstairs. It also suggested that there was a good chance the owner wouldn’t see the damage they were about to inflict on her basement when - if - she made it back here later.
She set the case down and looked to Nikolai. “I don’t particularly care if they see the damage once I’m out of the city. Are there cameras in here? Do you have cover to maintain?”
Nikolai laughed, amused. “No. They wouldn’t want the paper trail for something this secret. I can break into the system because they contracted the same people to install them at the mid-level facilities around the city.” He stepped forward and popped the tabs open on the case.
Inside was a trove. Jackhammer. Several sledgehammers which looked like they would be more appropriate on a medieval battlefield. A few devices looked like they might be explosives. And other things that looked like a safecracker’s wet dream. Marigold’s brows shot up. “This can’t possibly all be for here.”
“Can’t be too prepared,” Nikolai said, observing as Marigold selected a set of work gloves and a sledgehammer with a thick, reinforced handle. He considered, then bent to pluck a bright yellow stud finder from the case. Turning it on, he moved towards the wall, and began moving it along the drywall. every six feet, it beeped.
Then, one at four feet. “There’s your door,” He muttered and stepped back. Marigold stepped forward and began to swing.
The drywall itself crumpled like wet paper. The concrete behind it took a few more hits, but only because the surface area of the hammer itself was small. The iron safe door behind it, however, gave a loud CLANG that echoed around the room at the hammer made impact. A sizeable dent had been created where she had struck it. Nikolai stilled his mask of casual contempt freezing at the sight. Marigold glanced back at him. The man had virtual dollar signs flashing in his eyes, from the way he was looking at her.
Wesker had briefly explained the purpose of the Monitor program. She clearly hadn’t been the last to slip secrets out the door. She turned her back to him now, pulling away the rest of the crumbling concrete to reveal the door. It was styled like a vault, with a four-digit dial lock sitting above a heavy vault door handle, set into the door itself to keep a flat profile. “Ugh. Dramatic, as always. He could have put this in Switzerland, like a normal person.”
Nikolai continued to prod. “You seem awfully confident I won’t sedate you and turn you in.”
Marigold actually chuckled at that before smothering the sound with the back of her hand. “The fact that you’re saying that out loud tells me you’re not going to do it,” she said, actually stopping to turn back to look at him. It was almost cute, how he seemed to think she’d never met a mercenary before. “Did you actually bring any? Sedative, I mean. I can almost guarantee that you didn’t bring enough.” Her hands twisted on the handle of the sledgehammer, and Nikolai could hear the faint protest of the wood beginning to crack under her grip. “A lot of people have found that out over the years. If you turn me in - even if it were that easy - Umbrella would know I was in your orbit. They’d never trust your hands again.”
She smiled then, the professional mask of the vice president she’d been once. “Besides. This is really more of an interview with a bonus for participation. Do you really think the money will dry up once we’re through here? It’s not like Umbrella’s going to survive much longer. Not the way things are going.”
She let the mask drop, sudden enough to make Nikolai blink. “I do appreciate getting the threats out of the way early. This should be mutually beneficial for both sides.” She looked back at the door, idly giving the hammer a one-handed spin as if wielding a baton. “I’m going to end up breaking your equipment if I try to smash through, and it would take too long.”
Nikolai snorted, reassuming his affect. Her little speech had given him pause, but he also hadn’t been making a serious threat. The only time his heart rate had really spiked was when he had recognized her back in the car. The waters had been tested to his satisfaction. “What good is coming here then? Do we need to use the jackhammer? The neighbors would hear that, if they haven’t already heard that last blow.”
“No need,” Marigold said. “The clients gave us the first layer of the code without even realizing it.” She sneered a little, feeling the expression rise and letting it through for once. “Oswell Spencer always did love his riddles.”
She set the hammer to lean against the undamaged section of the wall and drew a piece of paper from her jacket pocket. Her memory might have been impeccable, but she hadn’t been in the clearest state of mind before leaving the warehouse. For once, she’d written down her work in order to check it over.

She set the hammer to lean against the undamaged section of the wall and drew a piece of paper from her jacket pocket. Her memory might have been impeccable, but she hadn’t been in the clearest state of mind before leaving the warehouse. For once, she’d written down her work in order to check it over.
“Smug old bastard,” Derek had said over the telephone. “Blathers on about the ‘wisdom in gifts’ they’d shared over the years with the world.”
She made a face. Everything came back to Miranda. To Romania. Back to that horrid day in the mountains, north of Brasov. Spencer would have gotten everything he’d ever wanted had he not sent her on that awful little errand with the expectation that she be neatly removed from the board altogether. Whatever the Mold was, Spencer was terrified enough - or indebted enough - of Miranda’s capabilities that he’d left her to her own devices for almost a decade following the incident.
She had used the word in passing while they had warily settled back down to the table, aware of each other’s natures. Something about it being a shame Marigold was maid poisonous by the virus, else she might have sent her back with a ‘lovely’ cadou of her own. The malice in Miranda’s voice had alerted Marigold to the fact that that was not something she would have welcomed.
Spencer had clearly feared the woman, but he seemed to hold her -and her gifts -in high regard. Very few outside the original inner circle - the old families - would have put together the first part, and possibly only Spencer himself might have known the second part without help. She’d been just the right balance of trusted and uninformed to be given access to such a secret, from his perspective.
Reaching out, she dialed the in code: 4-6-0-4. Something clicked. Taking hold of the vault door handle, she spun it hard.
It swung open. Behind her, Nikolai barked a disgusted laugh. “That’s it?”
Inside lay a small chest, the size of a banker’s box. Marigold stooped and flipped the lid open. Bonds, contracts, seals of ownership. Exactly what the Family was terrified of Umbrella using against them. All the leverage Spencer could ever want to bend the government to their will, should money stop being enough to do the job.
And tucked into one side, three small, leather-bound notebooks, each no larger than the size of her hand. Diaries. Marigold swallowed, and plucked the diaries out, slipping them into her bag.
Marigold picked up the banker’s box and tucked it under one arm. “It’s enough to burn it all down.” She replied. She looked back to the case. “I can take the back end if you like. We need to get moving.”

pairing; (former) popular!jk x (former) normie!reader summary; it’s been two years since you’ve seen your former tryst jeon jungkook. you didn’t expect him to be applying for the internship you’re currently running, along with the rate your heart is running at the sight of him in a black suit. genre/warnings; self-deprecating language, your typical (future) co-workers!au, jungkook is a piner and so is oc, a lil bit of sneaking around, adulting, a mutual understanding of feelings (finally!!) smut in the form of—soft n’ dirty baybee, unprotected, cockwarming, overstimulation, minor praise and possession kink, cumplay, &you know that they gon have heart eyes the entire time w.c; 7.3k a/n; darn why am i so... emotional over this??? it started out as a meaningless drabble series but with all my lovely readers and moots it’s grown into such a fun, introspective series. thank u for loving this and joining me on this journey. for those of u who are new to this series feel free to read popular-ish first or as a standalone! [popular-ish masterlist]
if you’ve enjoyed this (whether as a standalone or as a series) please consider giving it a like and a share✨✨✨✨✨

“A mess, I’m a mess,” you sing-song to yourself, organizing the manuals on the clear glass by subject and size. The applications of all your new interns are alphabetized, not a form out of place. Everything’s perfect. “Alright Jessica, all twenty of the interns are accounted for.”
“Actually, there’s twenty-three,” Jessica quips, and you let your shoulders slump. Being part of the recruiting team of your company has been simultaneously exciting and stressful. Stressful because of the constant travel, but otherwise exciting because you loved your internship at your current company. You remember how nervous you were two years ago, and how much support and help you got from your recruiters. Applying to this team was a natural turn of events.
“A-are you sure, Jess?” you look through all the applications, count the amount of nametags, triple check the chairs. You’re sweating through your blazer, wondering where you went wrong.
The head of your recruiting team glues one hand to her hip, while the other hand is holding her iPad, scrolling with her thumb. You swallow, intimidated by Jessica’s golden wavy locks and her black-trimmed white Chanel pantsuit.
“Yep, but don’t be too hard on yourself. I just added three more recruits last night. I’ll get the chairs and the apps are being printed. No worries,” Jessica assures, gesturing for you to hurry up and get outside, “Call the babies in!” your team leader waves her finger around like a magic wand, commanding you to the front lines.
Krystal puts a hand on her shoulder, as always looking impeccable. She has virtually nothing to worry about. She’s a woman who has connections, courtesy of her team leader. “Let’s go, newbie,” she teases, pulling you through the door.
The recruits in the lobby are wide-eyed and vibrant, and you feel a little nostalgic as you watch them line up in front of you and Krystal as you sign them in. You would dwell on the feeling more if it wasn’t for your exhaustion, so you decide you’ll get a chance to take a road down memory lane when you get to the hotel.
“Name?”
“Xu Minghao.”
“Congrats Minghao, here’s your nametag and I’ll see you inside,” with a firm handshake, one recruiter is free to go.
“Name?”
“Chou Tzuyu.”
“Congrats Tzuyu, here’s your name tag and I’ll see you inside,” she doesn’t go in straight away, and moves to the side of the door. “Actually,” you pause mid-handshake with another recruit, staring at the woman in curiosity, “my boyfriend just got a call last night that he was accepted in this year’s batch. Do you have his name?”
“Yes, three more recruits were added,” you chirp, as if you totally did not hear that bit of information five minutes ago, “What’s his name—Jungkook?”
The both of you blink at each other. One hand on Tzuyu’s shoulder, eyes wide and mirroring yours. Your heart falls straight to your stomach, wanting to be eaten by acids and bacteria so you can stop any possibility of feeling any lingering affection for the boy you fooled around with in undergrad. Everything about him screams professional. He’s clean cut, a pinstripe black suit you never thought he’d own, and his hair is neatly trimmed and pulled behind his ears. His shoulders look tall and broad under the slight padding, his biceps comfortably stretching against the dark fabric. The golden complexion remains the same however, from the honest brown eyes to the coral pink lips that would always smile at you.
“Oh, so you do have his name!” Tzuyu clasps her hands together, delighted. He has a girlfriend, too. It’s then you realize you’ll be stuck with not just him, but her for the week. “You guys are so efficient. C’mon Kookie, let’s find some seats!”
“I still gotta get my nametag,” he replies goodnaturedly, gesturing to you, “save us some seats in the front?”
Tzuyu thinks nothing of it, squeezing his bicep before skipping off to the front row. Your eyes linger on her form, and it’s only then you realize how tall and intimidatingly pretty she looks in that plaid teddy bear brown skirt suit. You did not look that good when you were a budding undergrad.
By this time, Krystal has taken all your other recruits from your line, regarding you with a raised brow. She’s fast with her attendance, so you know you don’t have much time.
“I applied last minute,” Jungkook says, scratching his head, “was running out of options before graduation. I didn’t know you’d be one of my recruiters, though. Lucky me.”
Jungkook and you never ended up keeping in contact, at least as of recent. A check-in message a few months in, a happy birthday or holiday greeting late at night. But two years later and those messages are automatic, with no feeling or personality. You never thought you’d see him again, no less in the city.
“You just graduated with your masters, congrats,” you smile at Jungkook, although you’re sure the feigned emotion fails to reach your eyes, “IT Management, right?”
“You remembered,” Jungkook brightens, reaching over to squeeze your shoulder, “you look good.”
“Oh please—”  you laugh to yourself, shaking your head, “I just got off a flight and I ran over in a two-day old suit, I don’t even have makeup on,” you didn’t feel this way in the morning, you just rushed to do the bare minimum to be enough and ran over to the convention hall. But now in the presence of Jungkook who looks so handsome and clean-cut, you can’t help but feel a little slighted at the sudden reunion.
“You’re always beautiful,” Jungkook exhales, and you clutch your clipboard closer to your chest.
You cough, an excuse for him to stop touching your shoulder, “You should go inside, it’s gonna start soon. We can catch up later.”
“Wait—” you make a scrunched up face that Jungkook can’t catch, but right in Krystal’s view. You can tell she’s laughing at you internally with her devious grin. “I just wanted to say, Tzuyu isn’t my girlfriend. We’re just…”
“Fooling around?” you didn’t mean for it to sound so sharp, but you wanted this conversation over. You have a job to do and Jungkook is your emotional barrier.
You and Jungkook used to fool around.
Jungkook winces, looking younger in his monkey suit. “I mean if you give me a chance to explain later—”
“Nametag, let’s go newbie.” Krystal slaps on the sticker herself, a little too hard if she asked. She doesn’t even bother to write his full name, just a bright green Jeon JK, IT Management tacked on his breast pocket, clashing with the gold pocket square.
“Sorry,” Jungkook tucks his tail in for now, bowing at you and Krystal as he scurries inside.
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding in. Krystal doesn’t bother to comfort you or ask what’s up—not that you want her to, even though you do want a breather before you have to go up on that stage and explain the itinerary for a week. The only thing you can do is smooth out your skirt, brush away the flyaways on your hairstyle and plaster a company-paid smile on your face.
The autopilot switch is on throughout the rest of the morning. Not just because Jungkook’s around, but the new position has got you on livewire. You’re glad that you’re not wearing base makeup because you are absolutely melting with all the high beam lights all up in your face as you talk through the week’s activities.
You could swear Jungkook clapped a little harder than most once you stopped talking, but maybe it’s because you’re not used to seeing Jungkook in the very front of a lecture. In fact, he was a very hard middle person, preferring not to show off his intelligence and let other people lead the discussion. Then again, it’s been two years, you don’t know how much he’s changed.
Jessica caps off the seminar with a great kick-off, the happy hour. The recruitment team picks a four star restaurant under their hotel so the recruits can enjoy themselves before going off to the training facility for a week.
And by training facility, you also mean yet another four-star hotel. You knew you made the right decision by joining this company because the benefits are impeccable, and value personal enjoyment just as much as they value work ethic. In the morning you and the recruits will be driving uptown to a private resort where there would be classes in the morning, and recoup in the evening. You’re very much looking forward to the infinity pool on the roof.
The recruits are ushered out as soon as you’re done, and that’s when you step out of the shadows to clean up the chairs and the brochures left behind. Thankfully Jungkook is probably following the norm and going back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner. Once the room is completely empty, you rip off your blazer and let yourself relax.
It’s going to be a long week.
Tumblr media
Jeon: where u @?
You: hotel room
Jeon: why? Thought we were all gonna have dinner together
You: nahhh, this night is for the recruits! You’ll be tired of our faces by the end of the week, enjoy it while you can 😉  have a good night
You sigh in contentment, relaxing further into the silk sheets. You just finished your skincare routine, letting some mindless drama play as the essences and serums sink into your skin. All you want is one Jungkook-free night. Tomorrow you’ll be stuck training him and Tzuyu for the week and you want to take tonight to emotionally prepare yourself.
Your phone rings once more.
Big Baddie Jessica Jung: krystal and i ordered takeout in the restaurant downstairs. Can u bring it to our  room? Plsssssss
Little Baddie Krystal Jung: it’ll be faster if you do it, we even got u a lil somethin🍰🍰🍰
Taking in your outfit, you grimace. You’re dressed for bed, a large nightie with your hair pulled back and a little pink bunny tie headband on top. Can’t they get room service to send it up? You admire your boss but you don’t understand why she needs to display her power over and over, she already knows you’ll follow her to the ends of the earth.
Quickly slipping into a pair of sneakers you run down the expanse of the hotel. It’s easy to spot where the recruits are, livin’ it up in the large restaurant that takes up half the space of the ground floor. Most of them are pretty drunk, hoping to sleep off the hangover on the four-hour bus ride. You have absolutely no judgement, two years ago you were in the same position.
Thankfully you don’t have to go far into the restaurant, as the hostess immediately knows Jessica’s order. While you wait for her to go into the kitchen and get it you drum your fingers against the counter, hoping no one notices you. It’s akin to when you’re a teacher in a mall, hoping none of your students gawk at you in the middle of Victoria’s Secret.
“Ah, well Jungkook and I aren’t official yet—but very soon.”
Your ears perk up at the sweet voice. Tzuyu is leaning across the open bar next to the counter, sipping on a mango mojito. She’s dumped the blazer for the night, showing off her soft skin and slender arms with a sleeveless cream blouse.
“Then where is he?” another recruiter asks, gesturing to the expanse of the lobby.
“He’s not much of a party person,” Tzuyu shrugs, tipping back her drink.
You scoff, plastering on a smile to the hostess as you grab your bags and walk as fast as you can out of the lobby. You’ve never felt more like an old hag until now. Sure, most of the recruits are younger than you, but seeing Tzuyu talk so freely about her relationship with Jungkook has you in a bit of a spiral. The day of graduation, you told Jungkook not to wait for you. Heck, you’re only interested in the idea of what you could’ve had with Jungkook.
These thoughts only cloud you further as you jab the elevator buttons all the way up to the suites where you and the Jungs reside. You relax a little when you see a strawberry cheesecake sitting prettily on the top of their order, your name written on the label with a little heart. Hanging their bag on the door handle of their room, you make your way back to your suite.
You freeze when you see a floppy-haired Jungkook roaming the hallway, looking like a clueless child hobbling around in slippers and wide eyes at any sparkly item that decorates the area. It doesn’t even look like he tried attending the happy hour tonight, dressed in an impossibly big heather grey sweatsuit that swallows his form.
“Are you lost?” you ask tentatively, as if you’re talking to a toddler lost at the mall.
Jungkook relaxes considerably at the sound of your voice, and he replies, “Was tryna find your room since you didn’t reply to my texts.”
“So… you decided to check all the rooms?”
“Yep,” he pops the p with a smack of his lips, “I figured the recruiters would be far away from the party so I started at the top. Thankfully I got to Jessica’s room first. Didn’t have to knock on too many doors. Only one old man got annoyed at me.”
“You’re crazy,” you chuckle, slipping in your keycard to let Jungkook in.
“Fuck, this room all to yourself?”
Jungkook doesn’t hesitate to kick his slides to a corner of the wall, flopping atop your bed and clutching your baby blue koala plush in his arms. The king sized bed is enough for his legs to stretch comfortably without falling off the edge, and he eagerly pads his feet against the soft fabric.
It warms you to think that Jungkook is comfy enough to lay on your bed and hug your stuffed animals, a semblance of friends that you’ve missed for such a long time. Last year the team you worked for was great, you loved the people and even now you consider some of them friends. This year the team is a little smaller, and since your two other co-workers are sisters, it’s a little harder to nudge yourself in the direction of friendship.
As soon as you sit down against the headboard, Jungkook’s eyes soften. Everything feels so different and the same. The threadbare pajamas that either of you haven’t had the heart to throw away since they’re so damn comfy, yet  your bodies are a little more worn and your eyes a little more droopier than usual.
“So,” Jungkook bites his lip, not in the sexy way, but the nervous way, “about Tzuyu—”
“Jungkook, you don’t have to explain yourself,” you slump on your corner of the bed, regarding Jungkook with guilty eyes. “I really shouldn’t be feeling the way I’m feeling. It isn’t fair and I don’t want to jeopardize your internship.”
“And… what are you feeling?”
“Dumb things.”
“Your feelings aren’t dumb.”
“This time they are.”
“I’ve always shared my feelings, it’s unfair that you never want to share yours,” Jungkook sits up, criss-cross applesauce, pensive. “Maybe it’s my fault for not making you feel comfortable enough to share, but I feel like the reason why we never worked out was because we never tried hard enough to have a proper conversation.”
How could you have missed all the indicators, all the good words, all the kindness Jungkook has given you that last semester? “You’re absolutely right,” you let your insecurities, your apprehensiveness, get in the way. You think in two years you’d do better to eradicate this kind of behavior, but lately you haven’t had many friends to express your feelings to. “Tell you what, I’ll work harder to express how I feel. No exchanges, no nothings. I owe you this.”
“You owe me nothing,” Jungkook smiles, “I just think it would be nice to y’know, talk. As friends.”
“Right, friends.”
“So, will you hear me out about Tzuyu?”
“Let me open my cake,” you pull out your bag with the cheesecake, which thankfully has two spoons, “it seems like we’ll be having that kind of conversation.”
Everyone is more amicable because of food. According to Jungkook, Tzuyu has a hardcore, ten-year plan for her twenties. After a couple of dates with Jungkook, Tzuyu whips him into the plan. Mentions that she’s well-bred and has a family reputation to uphold. Says IT Management is something completely desirable in a partner, that he’s sensible and wonderful and would like to be committed full-time.
“And she talked to her parents about me and said that I’m a good prospect for marriage. Like I’m another pillar in her plan!” Jungkook cries, taking a monstrously sized bite of your cheesecake, wallowing away.
This is akin to sleepovers you’ve always wanted to have in high school, down to the food gorging. You can’t help but be fascinated, “So are you wrapped up in an engagement? Is this a scary rendition of Crazy Rich Asians?”
“You just can’t turn a one-eighty like that on a fifth date,” Jungkook shakes his head, reeling at the emotional whiplash, “she’s really nice. Really organized, really perfect. It really intimidates me.”
“Is she what you reaaaally want?” you can’t help but ask, rolling your eyes at the excessive use of the word, and tamp down the pain in your stomach by eating a forkful of creamy cheesecake.
“I don’t know!” Jungkook replies exasperatedly, “Obviously I’m worried since she wants to put a ring on it. I told her she needs to back off. Right after the seminar I said she had no right telling other people we’re boyfriend and girlfriend. She didn’t say much, just frowned and walked away.”
You roll your eyes, scraping the leftover graham cracker crust from the edge of the plastic plate. “According to her, I heard you two are planning to make it official very soon.”
His eyes widen, “I really bring girl trouble wherever I go, don’t I?”
“Since I’ve known you,” you half-joke, putting away the plastic cutlery on the nightstand.
You two sit in silence for a few moments, letting the television fill the room with mindless static about some sappy Hallmark movie. Tentatively, you land a hand on Jungkook’s knee. He looks down at your tiny fingers, giving his skin an experimental squeeze of comfort.
“I don’t want her,” he finally says.
“Okay,” you reply, “you won’t even have to talk to her if you don’t want to. I can arrange the groups this week so you don’t have to be around—”
“Give me one week,” his eyes flash to yours, dark and sharp.
“Jungkook. You have your determined face on,” it makes you sweat.
“Because I’m determined to win you over, once and for all,” you eyes widen, and Jungkook visibly freezes, “was that too much? I’m kind of on an emotional high today. I didn’t expect to see you today and it kind of threw me into a loop. I thought I might be running into you once I started my internship but I didn’t think you’d be my recruiter. And then you went on that stage all bad-ass talking about work and you looked so gorgeous in your suit and I was so proud knowing you made it and IrealizedhowmuchImissedyou—”
“Jungkook, slower,” you’re feeling a little woozy as well, equally overwhelmed. “You’re just saying this because you didn’t expect to see me—”
“You’re deflecting, again.”
“I’m scared, okay?” you blurt, throwing your hands in the air. “You’re right, this is all so sudden. So can’t we just start being friends and see if it takes us somewhere? You don’t have to win me over, just support me like I’ll support you.”
“I’m sorry,” Jungkook moves up the bed, so he’s leaning against the headboard as well. His long legs stretch farther than yours, and it feels oddly domestic as you talk it out and stare at the television screen. “I’m just, worried I’m running out of time.”
“I'm not going anywhere this time.”
“I know,” Jungkook shakes his head, ridding himself of his torrid thoughts. Conceding, he gestures to the television, pulling out the remote under your pillow, “wanna watch television, or catch up?”
You last about an hour until you knock out. However, Jungkook keeps you entertained up until that moment, as you exchange your lives and stresses. Everything meshes together, you’re not sure if it’s the charm that comes with late night talks, but you feel like you can talk to Jungkook about anything if given the time. You melt when he strokes your hair till the last minute, wishing you a goodnight and a promise of more.
Tumblr media
“Okay, I’ve gone over most of the work ethics in the manual,” you smile nervously when you see your glazed over recruits, nearly falling off their chairs. Even Krystal is bored out of her mind, discreetly playing with her phone in the back under her manual. Of course you’d get stuck with teaching the boring classes. “Any last minute questions before we head off for dinner?”
Tzuyu shoots her hand up, “Are romantic relationships allowed in the workplace?”
Jungkook promptly chokes on his water bottle. He looks up at you, panicked. Ignoring his terror, you paint on a thin smile towards the young woman, “Like I mentioned earlier, romantic relationships between employees are not frowned upon, so long as you’re not working under or over someone in the same department.”
“Right, just wanted to make sure,” Tzuyu is all chipper smiles as she thanks you.
If you were still twenty-one, you’d gag at the pointed look she sends Jungkook. They’re sitting diagonal from each other, and Jungkook makes a point to pretend to be interested in your lecture until the very end.
You’re halfway done with recruitment week, and while you’re not shocked at how fast the week has gone by, you’re fairly disappointed that Jungkook and you haven’t had time to meet up in private. So far it’s been easy enough to keep your friendship (and past sexual relationship) a secret, but something dark and eager tells you how much you want more. The recruiters are eager to leave, all twenty-three of them grouping off and talking about what they want to eat for dinner. Everyone except a certain dark-haired fellow, who’s hair is currently bouncing off it’s styled coiff, wanting to return to it’s normal non-gelled self.
“Kookie,” you raise a brow at the interaction, Tzuyu leaning over her chair to Jungkook’s, “wanna get dinner tonight?”
Jungkook’s taking an excruciatingly long time to pack his things, raising a brow at her, “I’ve told you already, I don’t want to be involved in whatever plans you have.”
“Oh-kay,” Tzuyu rocks back and forth on her oxford heels, pursing her magenta pink lips, “then why don’t we at least walk back to the hotel together? I really want to talk about some things that might change your mind.”
“Nothing will change my mind,” Jungkook’s determined face has been staying strong for the week, from the way he makes sure he’s first in your class to the simple “good morning” and “good night” texts you exchange. “Besides, I have a date tonight. And I really want to talk to the recruiters about a personal work matter, so can you please leave?”
You try not to snort at how blatant Jungkook was being. You pretend to organize your folders, throwing whatever random notes you have in your bag for later.
“A date,” she twitches,  “with who?”
“Someone that doesn’t treat me like a stepping stone in her career path,” Jungkook deadpans, and that’s all it takes for Tzuyu to huff and walk away from the hall.
You think Tzuyu is like a bug, relatively harmless, but someone who gets on your nerves.
“A date, huh?” Krystal quotes, finally looking up from her phone. Her sharp, cat-eyes linger at the door, wondering if Tzuyu is going to pop out and try to drag Jungkook by the reins. Finally, she plants her stare between you and Jungkook. “So, you two fucking?”
“Former fucking,” Jungkook supplies helpfully, and you jump off your podium to elbow him in the ribs, “ow—what?”
“You just don’t tell Krystal we’re fucking!”
“Former fucking,” he chastises, but the eyes he sends you are a little sultry, and you wonder if he’s thinking of fucking in the future. You reel yourself back, focusing on the third party.
But you anticipate that Krystal couldn’t care less, and you’re grateful for that. While a smaller work team means a smaller possibility of close work relationships, you do like the drama-free environment. “Like you said,” Krystal shrugs, slinging her briefcase over her shoulder, “romantic relationships in the workplace are not frowned upon.”
You wring your hands between your bag when Krystal finally makes her getaway, and you look up at Jungkook. “So,” you smile wryly, “you have a date tonight, huh?”
“With a pretty working woman,” he sighs dramatically, putting a hand over his chest, “that is, if she’ll have me.”
“Consider yourself taken.”
Jungkook and you sneak away to your suite once again. To your surprise, the suite is decorated in rose petals and a bottle of champagne sits in an ice bath on your bedside. A large pizza pie sits beautifully on your coffee table, and the television is playing lo-fi hip-hop.
You feed Jungkook champagne-dipped strawberries as you gorge on the joy that is baked bread and cheese.
And when he kisses you, it’s slow and sweet, like you have all the time in the world.

It’s the last day of recruitment week, and all classes ended at noon so the interns can use all the resort’s amenities to the fullest. Many of the interns, including yourself, Jessica and Krystal, are on the rooftop celebrating a successful workweek. Staff and interns alike are buzzing around, eager to top off their weekend with some relaxation and sun.
Jungkook is with his new team, conversing with other IT employees. You try not to stare too hard at your reignited flame, tipping back a cutely decorated glass of fruit. His arms ripple as he tips back the liquid. He’s wearing a tank top and you could swear his biceps have gotten meatier. Unfortunately you hold yourself back, after all the internship isn’t quite over and you still are a professional.
At the end of the weekend you really have nothing to worry about, you know that.
But Tzuyu? She irritating.
“I just don’t understand,” Tzuyu suspects nothing of your budding relationship with Jungkook. You’re thankful for that because towards the end of the week, it was getting harder and harder to be subtle when you two send each other heart eyes from three meters away.
Tzuyu sounds like she’s talking to herself, the way she stares into the infinity pool, despite the fact that her friends are surrounding her with rapt attention. You’re a cabana away from her, sipping languidly at your drink while Jessica and Krystal nap next to you. Even though you can’t see Tzuyu, you can practically feel her pout emanating through the fabric that separates you two. Despite the fact that she’s been offered a great intern position given her degree and experience, she’s still upset. For her, is that not the most important part of this whole week?
“Jungkook’s really not that great if he’s going to turn me down like that,” Tzuyu seethes. You should write up her nonsense in a book and publish it, really. “Why waste time when he has the whole package right in front of him?”
It’s then you realize why you’ve been so torn, so strung up and wound tight all these years. Just like college, all shy and hesitant to take a step forward while Jungkook was ten steps ahead, you were worried. You let other people’s thoughts stop you from making the leap, girls like Tzuyu that never meant to intimidate you, but you let their presence get up in your head and control the nonexistent hierarchy.
But two years later, and that doesn’t matter. It never mattered. Jungkook is no longer the all-star lacrosse player, but what remains is his heart, full and willing.
Everything Tzuyu just said was… wrong. Irrevocably, inexplicably messed up. But the idea of “wasting time” does strike a chord within you. Are you wasting time? At this point, your feelings of each other are pretty clear. What are you two waiting for, again?
You thought Krystal was sleeping, considering her sunhat sitting atop her face, but once she hears you packing away your bag she whistles, “Go get ‘em, tiger.”
Sending a quick text to Jungkook, you make a beeline for your destination. You don’t even bother looking for him in the crowd.
You: meet me by the elevator at the very end of the lobby.
Not a minute passes by when Jungkook joins you at said elevator. He has two glasses of champagne in his hands, and offers one to you, “tired of the party?” he asks.
You clink drinks, easily tipping yours back. “It’s not our thing,” you declare with a small smile. Jungkook's eyes soften, glancing back and forth between your face and the soft pleats of your marigold sundress. His hair is pushed back, sticky from sweat and chlorine, dark bangs hanging over the shaved sides of his head. You turn your head slightly as you wait for the elevator, biting your lip as you're sorely reminded of how sexy Jungkook looked at the dive pool half an hour ago.
The elevator dings, and it’s wide enough for you to slip in at the same time. You put your champagne glass in the corner of the elevator for now, hoping you don’t accidentally step on it. In closed quarters, you can smell the slight tang of chlorine coming from Jungkook, combined with his own brand of musk.
Jungkook looks younger tonight, happier. Having just finished graduate school and working towards a full-time gig, another chapter in his life has started. His hair is no longer in that tight-whipped coiff he struggled all week to maintain, loosened in its natural wave due to the pool water and heat. His cheeks are a little ruddied and plump, a sign he’s been enjoying the food this week.
The door barely closes when you get it out, pulling at his hand to face you.
“Jungkook, I like you,” you blurt, and his eyes bug out considerably. Out of reflex, his hand sharply squeezes yours. “You don’t have to say anything, because you’ve been saying everything for the majority of our relationship. I really like you, I really liked you back then too. You’re still so sweet, and loving, and smart and I’ve just been too dumb and insecure to—”
Jungkook seals your confession away with a desperate kiss, and you turn into a pile of mush at the contact. Relief seeps into your bones, sings into your system. When he pulls away, he looks serious. He doesn’t let you get far, and clutches your face between his two hands so you can’t turn your head. Your soft cheeks fill between his fingers, warm and cradled.
“Never call yourself that,” Jungkook exhales, regarding you with firm eyes, “you’re beautiful, and intelligent, and the person I want.”
“I don’t wanna take it slow anymore,” you mumble against his lips, leaning in so that you can barely nip at the pink skin. “Want you now, need you now.”
“You have me now,” Jungkook agrees, and as soon as the elevator dings open to your floor, he scoops you up into his arms.
By all means it’s not graceful, he’s clutching you like a baby with his hands over your butt as he jiggles you all the way to your front door. Clinging onto him like a koala, you press kisses to his cheeks as he leads you to your room. You laugh and giggle like teenagers, as he fumbles between your breast to grab the card key that’s nestled between your bra. It’s warm in his hand as he swipes it through the reader, pushing you inside.
“Is it bad that I’m kinda turned on by the fact you got my key out of my boob?” you joke, although the contact of his rough fingers against your breast is a feeling well missed.
“Is it bad that I’m always turned on when you lecture in seminars?” Jungkook retorts, kicking the door closed with his slipper-clad foot as he walks you to the bed. “Fuck, I can hear you talk about insurance benefits all day.”
“Didn’t know my sex appeal extended that way—oh fuck—”
Your vibrant marigold sundresses provides easy access to Jungkook as he throws you onto the mattress, your skirt billowing over your waist as he makes quick work to expose more of your skin.
“No more talking, more loving,” he’s crazed, doesn’t hesitate to move your bikini bottoms to the side as he rubs lovingly at your long-lost bud, “need to fuck you, now. It’s been so fucking long.”
“Kook,” his breath is warm against your already sopping cunt, and you lift your hand to run through the strands of his messy hair. It only takes one firm tug and you’re able to pull him up by the root of his hair, cranberry juice tinted lips with a faint sheen because he couldn’t help himself to have a little taste of you. “Baby, let me touch you. Let me show you how much I want you," you coo with a pout, hands trailing over the drawstrings of his trunks.
You can see how much Jungkook wants to say yes. His eyes glow with the possibility, bright and wanting in the afternoon sunlight. The image of him shoving his cock deep into your throat, so far that you can taste it in every crevice of your mouth. Your nails gripping into his ass as you go deeper, tears pricking your eyes as cum seeps out of your pretty lips.
But he firmly shakes his head, fingers doing the devil’s work as he eases a digit in you. A little noise of protest bubbles in your throat, but it soon dies out as soon as he finds the right spot to reduce you to mush.
“Next time,” he exhales against the juncture between your thigh and pelvis, picking up the pace and adding another finger, “if you touch me, I’ll cum right then n’there. This is enough for me, you’re enough.”
So you let him have what he wants. You’ll make it up to him in the morning, and the day after, and the day after. You shed your clothes, the sundress extra forgiving as it slides off your body, revealing a swimsuit that hasn’t even touched the pool. You feel a little self-conscious as he drinks you in after so long, but he quickly shucks off his clothes to match your state of nakedness.
You remember how you tiptoed around your first night with Jungkook, taking great care to make sure it was fleeting, how dark the room was as you let your pleasure take over your senses. Two years later and the sun is setting, gold bleeding through your sheets and illuminating the room. There's no need to hide.
“I must say, we’ve both kept it tight,” Jungkook teases with a wink, squeezing your hips so he can change positions.
You silently agree, your fingers slipping across the washboard of his waist.
“Mm, and still so fuckin’ cute,” Jungkook marvels as he pulls you up on his lap. Your whole body is flushed with want, one hand squeezing your breasts while the other plays with the curls of hair that lead to your sopping wetness. You glide your core over Jungkook’s stomach, sighing as you take note of the abs that clench under your heat and his hot member that rubs between your ass.
It’s a tight fit when you finally sink down on him, but the burn only fuels your desire as he stretches you wide. His grip is helpful as he guides you through the motions. It’s been awhile since you’ve been this physical with someone, and it’s almost comical when you both sigh in contentment at the contact.
“I’ve missed this,” you mumble, biting into his shoulder as he thrusts up.
“Mm, it feels different, right?” Jungkook hums, keeping a slow pace. The drag is wonderful, and you know that he’s trying to prolong the moment. He reaches for your head, presses his forehead to yours as he speaks, “you’re mine now, right? For real.”
“I’m all yours, Jungkook,” you press kisses everywhere. No need to hide anymore. You bleed love into every kiss, to his jawline, the little freckles across his chin, his lips. “This is romantic and all, but I really want you to dick me down. Which is why you need to go a little faster, you sap.”
Jungkook scoffs, “A pillow princess is what you are.”
He stops moving, and you two sink further into the mattress without its springs bringing you back up. The both of you are acutely aware of how wet you both are, your combined arousals seeping between your seams and dripping onto Jungkook’s thighs. But the young man simply relaxes against the headboard, baiting you.
“Kook,” you whine, clenching against his member. Your hot walls have a mind of their own, unable to stifle their desire. Sweat lines Jungkook’s brow as he tries his hardest not to move, just simply be.
“Tell me how much you want me, princess,” the pet name has you clenching harder, and you pout.
“Baby,” you whine, leaning forward to whisper in his ear. There’s no one in the room, and you’re sure no one is on this floor because everyone’s on the rooftop, but the words you’re about to say are for Jungkook and Jungkook only, “please, I want you to pound me into this mattress until I can’t walk anymore. I want to cry out your name so everyone can hear I’m yours. You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” you nip at his lobe, and let your thumb nick at the simple silver rings that adorn his ear. You hear a click of his teeth, indicating the clench of his jaw as his muscles flex around your body, "I want you to fill me with your cum until I’m eating it, and—and—oh Kook!”
Your words aren’t enough to distract you from his large dick sitting prettily between your folds, and you’re suddenly cumming, all by the mere thought of what’s to happen. You’re shuddering in his arms, and Jungkook soothes you by running his fingers over the spine of your back, distracting you from the utter mess you’re making on the sheets.
“Such a good girl,” Jungkook coddles you, stroking your hair, “can my good girl take it?”
“Y-yes, Kook,” you nod eagerly, fighting the overstimulation as he nudges you off his lap. You’re pliable, as Jungkook sets up the pillows for you to rest comfortably as you get on your elbows and knees, “your good girl.”
You shudder as your bare pussy starts to feel cold, immediately missing the warmth Jungkook can provide. You can practically feel his hot gaze burning in your back, his large palm squeezing your ass as he marvels at how ready and eager you are for him.
“It’s so easy to slip inside,” Jungkook rubs your nectar across the head of his cock, swirling around your engorged skin as he slips right inside. You both moan at the stretch, “Finally, my adorable baby, you like this? You like getting pounded like the dirty girl you really are?”
“Mm, yes!” you squeal, clutching onto the feather down pillows for dear life as Jungkook displays his strength, one hand gripping your hips as the other weaves itself into your hair. It’s a delicious mix of pleasure and pain, and the lewd sounds of each other’s juices and his balls against your ass echoing in the room.
“Y-yeah,” despite his power, his thrusts are sloppy, and you know he’s almost at the edge, “and I like you, so so much. I want to make you cum everyday, make you happy and—mph—” he gives up on talking, focusing entirely on his destination.
“Cum, baby,” you urge, melting when his one hand comes to thread with your own, “fill me up with you.”
He flips you on your back, and you finally see how desperate Jungkook is to cum. His eyes are glassy, filled with emotion as he strokes himself to completion. Your hand reaches up to cup his damp face, and that’s when you feel him loosen. Hot, pearly strings cling to your pussy, decorating your skin in his essence. Your fingers immediately reach down to swirl the cum between your folds, and Jungkook groans at the picture, immediately throwing your hands to the side to kiss you senseless.
There’s so much pouring between the two of you, affection, the feeling of being cherished, so much that you can feel the whole world reducing to the two of you.
“All mine,” he whispers to himself, as if he still can’t believe it. And then, he puts up a poker face as he leans into you, resting his head gently on your breasts, “I knew I only needed a week.”
You narrow your eyes, flicking lightly at his forehead. You’re sticky, sweaty, and covered in cum and while you’re exhausted, the built in jacuzzi in your washroom looks very enticing right now. “Jungkook, this happened naturally. I said we would try as friends first and we did. We just so happened to escalate pretty fast.”
“I don’t think it was that fast,” Jungkook nuzzles his face into your skin, “it’s been two years since college. Being popular did do a number on our relationship, but we caught up."
“You were popular-ish,” you roll your eyes, teasing him. His face falls, and you can’t help yourself. Your hands reach over to cup his cheeks, and you happily squish the supple, pouty flesh. He’s adorable. “Kim Taehyung though? Park Jimin? Absolute heartthrobs I couldn’t stand to be near them—ah!”
Jungkook seems to read your mind, lifting you bridal style to drag you over to the bathroom where the marble jacuzzi sits tauntingly. The stone is ice cold as he brings you both inside, immediately turning on the nozzles to fill it with steaming hot water. You find the tiny bottle of lavender suds, spilling the soap in an arc. His legs slip over yours, cradling you so that your back is pressed against Jungkook’s chest.
“Being popular never mattered,” Jungkook shakes his head, pressing a kiss to your jaw, “I realized the only person who I really needed to notice me was you.”
Tumblr media
bonus.
You wake Jungkook up the next morning with your lips wrapped around his cock, fresh cherry balm rubbing down the thick veins until he's cumming down your throat.
"Wow," Jungkook whistles, licking his lips at the sight of you sucking the arousal from your thumb. He huffs against the pillow, eyes darting to the open organza window, letting in the early morning light. The rooftop of a multi-star hotel, white Egyptian cotton seats, a full time job on the way and waking up in the most blissful way possible.
"I have a proposal," you crawl on top of him like a koala, hooking your thighs between his blanket clad body.
"I do," he replies instantly, looking straight at you with droopy puppy eyes.
"Not that kind," you slap his chest, "where are you living once orientation is over?"
"Mm, there's a boarding house near a local translation. It's probably an hour commute? Not too bad."
"So, I just leased a townhouse last month," you bite your lip, tucking your head between his neck to hide your embarrassment, "I was gonna rent out the spare room and put an advert in the paper but…"
"I do."
"I said it isn't a marriage proposal."
"Asking you to live with me is basically a marriage proposal."
"There will be no benefits," you sit up, wagging a finger in his face, "you'll be paying rent and half the utilities. And you will be doing all the laundry."
"Sure," Jungkook replies loftily, squeezing your ass, "you're benefit enough."

HI it posted so.
Lorenzo!! Isat oc! Lore !!!!! (Under cut bc there’s like. A lot)
He’s got a lot of nicknames. Primarily, he goes by Renzo, but people call him Renz, En, Zozo (mostly by Bonnie), and Loren (which he HATES) (also by Bonnie mostly, but others join in on the teasing too)
I feel that since he’s poterian, and the country apparently has a LOT of theater stuff, he’s been exposed to it at a young age & gained a love for it as a result. He’s at home on the stage, no matter what.
He takes odd performance jobs (mainly singing gigs) for spare money and ABSOLUTELY loves it despite the circumstances. Totally kills it.
SUPER flashy but also rlly humble. Never arrogant or anything but occasionally a showoff.
Overthinks himself into oblivion & has anxiety like Mirabelle. (His and Mira’s anxieties are different enough that one can calm the other down)
He was about 14 when the Country vanished.
He used body Craft to alter his teeth and vocal chords when he was younger & he never bothered to change it back. Now his teeth (past the first few in each row) are pointy & his vocal range is fucking insane.
His main Craft type is Scissors, he just learned Rock bc he was bored
Doesn’t even remember his bday ( :( ) just kinda guesses his age
He’s solo traveled since 16
His weapon (hand ax) is practically falling apart. It’s a miracle it’s still in one piece.
(Alcohol mention right down here watch out)
And ofc, when drunk, he can range from super quiet (sometimes nonverbal) to super giggly and/or flirty (occasionally). It really depends on the environment, his mood, etc.
THATS IT FOR NOW !!! Ofc hes in development and being added to in different ways but those will come. Later. 👍
YKW. Fuck it im gonna do it.
I made a quick ref sheet for my oc too so y’all can actually have like. A visual for him. It kinda sucks but i also made it at like 12 in the morning so
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ll go a lil more in depth abt him later ig but rn it’s. 1:50 AM. So I’ll rb this after it queues and add to it

2021 fic year in review
Was tagged by @lordeasriel my beloved, thank you for thinking of me!
Total # of Completed Works: 2 (I’m actually surprised at myself lmao).
Total Word Count: 66,988 (+ circa 10,000 that sits in my drafts).
Fandoms I’ve Written In: His Dark Materials, Peaky Blinders, Grishaverse out of the posted ones + a little Star Trek DS9 and The Witcher
Looking Back, Did You Write More Fic Than You Thought You Would This Year, Less, Or About What You’d Expected?: def more and in much more fandoms than I would’ve expected. I’ve totally posted less than what I wanted but hey, slowly improving on that!
What’s Your Own Favorite Story Of The Year?: I wanted to say Elegy for An Untold Botanist and turns out that’s far in the 2020 so I had a little cry lmao. Still has to be Bird of Passage, then, but the winds are changing as ever with me.
Did You Take Any Writing Risks This Year?: I think the biggest risk I’ve taken was try and start writing some of my stories in present tense and honestly I think it has improved my writing/English a lot, though it’s not something I’d choose for all my WIPs. Also adding a lot of descriptive passages, which is something I think my writing had lacked—I still fear infodumping while doing this, but I hope I’ll find balance soon.
Do You Have Any Fanfic Or Profic Goals For The New Year?: I'd love to finally and for the first time actually DRAFT a story in its entirety and put the main plotline and fleshed out scenes down ALL before I polish them and start posting. I’d love to do this for Ens Veneris and am slowly working on it. I’d love to have a few chapters written ahead of publishing the first one. BUT as always, I can see myself ending up too hyped up about finishing the beginning and posting it way ahead before I had any idea where the plot is going, haha.
Most Popular Story Of The Year?: Bird of Passage maintaining the first place third year in a row and who can I blame but myself.
Story Of Mine Most Under-Appreciated By The Universe, In My Opinion: most definitely A Riot of Her Own, my Peaky Blinders WIP.
Most Fun Story To Write: atm either Blind & Beat or Ens Veneris, bc bitchy witches and my hyperfixations don’t actually let me choose anything else.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story: about how soft I wanted Kat Miller to turn out but didn’t succeed much (so I’ve written a kissy one-shot for her)—Harbour.
Biggest Disappointment: me not finishing Bird of Passage YET AGAIN although I wanted to this year and it was an achievable goal (executive dysfunction I hardly know her).
Biggest Surprise: that I have written and published short of 67,000 words?? Hello??!?
tagging some people whose stories, OCs, snippets and thoughts I’ve enjoyed seeing on my dash the past year, but no pressure for you to actually do it: @mimikoflamemaker, @valiantgentle, @andrcwgarficlds, @zeleniafic, @starcrossedjedis, @wordspin-shares. If you have already done something similar, shoot me a link, I’d love to see! Also anyone who picks this up from me, do tag me!
