I always feel a bit sad for people who continually use the "it's canon" argument. There's nothing wrong with having a ship that's canon, but if that's one of your main reasons as to why a couple works then I've got to assume the person only ships canon couples in shows (because of course if they were to ship a non-canon couple then the reasoning they hold so dear would fall apart) and how goddamn boring is that?? Your pool of couples you want to see together is so terribly tiny this way.

I have no problem with people shipping only canon couples. Everyone ships differently. Some people ship only canon, some ship only fanon, some ship only queer ships, some don't ship at all, some ship everything, some ship only one thing. 

The problem begins when people start acting like it's wrong or stupid to not ship the same way they ship. I've seen so many people try to shame people for shipping fanon. And they just don't understand. They come at us with "your ship will never be canon" and acting like or ships aren't valid and we're stupid because we ship something that isn't canon. That's when I feel sad for people, because that lack of understanding shows such narrow-mindedness and such limited creativity. People who ship fanon usually don't expect their ship to ever be canon. Sometimes they don't even want it to be canon. They're interested in exploring the possibilities of the pairing and the potential that exists there outside of the confines of the show, and that's a beautiful thing. And people hate on it because they don't understand the creativity that exists there. 

I'll never understand why they feel the need to continually harass and mock fanon shippers, though. If our ships are never going to be canon and you're so sure that CS is endgame, then why do you care that people might ship a fanon ship like Sleeping Hook, or a ship that isn't on the show anymore like Swanfire? I suppose the answer is that they're disgusting people who either can't stand that people don't agree with them and like something that they don't or they need to try to make people feel as bad as possible because they're so childish and pathetic that they need to hurt people in an attempt to feel superior.

The "it's canon" argument always make me roll my eyes because it's such a weak argument. Canon does not mean well written. Canon does not mean it's not problematic. Something being canon now does not mean that it will be canon forever. If your go to argument for your ship is "it's canon", then there's a problem.

1. Favorite action film?

Hmm…probably any of my favorite superhero films (X2, Avengers, DKR) or Super 8

2. What movie(s) could you watch over and over and not get tired of?

Jurassic Park, Uptown Girls, and Pride and Prejudice. Those are the ones I’ve watched the most I think. But mostly Jurassic Park, that’s my go-to for every situation.

3. Any old school favorites (pre-70s)?

I really enjoyed Sunset Boulevard.

6. Favorite movie from the 90’s?

JURASSIC PARK.

8. What movie are you looking forward to coming out the most?

I’m looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy. I think the summer blockbuster season is kind of lacking this year, though I think 2015 will be better for that. But other than that, I’m really excited for Boyhood, because the concept is incredible. 

11. Favorite musical?

Other than Disney movies, I guess Wizard of Oz is my favorite.

Uptown Girls

18. Favorite movie heroin?

I love Elizabeth Bennet and I love Hermione Granger, but that’s more because of the books so I’m not sure if that counts. I’m ready for Hollywood to tackle some of the cool comic book heroines. I guess Buffy kind of counts too. We definitely need more heroines on the big screen though, that’s for sure.

My mother just convinced me to watch Heathers the other night. She also showed me Labyrinth years ago, and I’ve loved it ever since.

Silver Linings Playbook

Science of Sleep. It’s my favorite film from Gondry, but is overshadowed by Eternal Sunshine. 

41. Actors you’d like to see work together?

Tatiana Maslany, Michael Shannon, and Michael Fassbender. Mostly because they are my favorites right now. And probably add some more Tatiana Maslany in there, because we all know she could play every role. 

43. Favorite teen movie?

The Way Way Back, Palo Alto, and Kings of Summer. Those are my top 3 coming of age films right now. 

49. A disappointing film from your favorite director?

Mud. It was good, but it wasn’t Take Shelter.

I never really got into Westerns.

For some reason I’m drawing a blank on this one, because I’m mostly thinking of newer adaptations, which is different than a remake. I’m not entirely sure I have a favorite remake. I really liked Let Me In, but I haven’t yet seen the original, so I’m not positive if that counts…

The Barbarian Brothers have the distinction of being the first nominees to actually attend the Razzie Awards. According to those who attended the ceremony, the brothers were unaware the award they were up for was Worst New Star until they were told. They were extremely displeased.

I eat brains to gain knowledge. turned 7 today! 2 days ago on the 17th but yeah. Some real life people made me join, they ALL left. Met some pretty interesting people on here, MOST of them have left. I graduate from college this Saturday, and I’m not quite sure how I am feeling about that.

Next month I am going to LA to compete in a film festival for the second year in a row.

I have never seen Titanic.

I came to college with a scholarship in environmental science, and have won a presidential award for environmental stewardship. However, I decided not to minor in Biology when a professor freshman year told me I lacked understanding in the subject.

I have met my favorite director in person.

My favorite word is “denouement”

Yes and no. I regret that that person was my first, but at the same time I'm glad I got to practice on someone I didn't have feelings for. I still cringe when I think about it though.

Downloads Scavenger Hunt and Clownhouse. St. Elmo’s Fire is so good! It kind of feels like The Breakfast Club in college only Bender becomes a republican.

SO worth it, Scavenger Hunt is hilarious with an amazing cast. Clownhouse is a really original, slightly cheesy, home invasion clown movie. Sam Rockwell plays the oldest brother who's a cocky jerkface.

Also, now I'm realizing that I have no headcanons about the political views of the members of the Breakfast Club and it's weirding me out. I may have to watch it now.

33. Last movie that disappointed you? Insidious. I get that they saved some of the info about the spirit realm for the sequel, but I could only watch the mother freak out about something on the baby monitor so many times.

34. Last movie the surpassed your expectations? The Sitter, actually. It was one of those movies where I was thinking, "This could all be explained with a gay sub-plot" and one of the few where there actually was one, and it was handled beautifully. Also Sam Rockwell was wearing booty shorts and roller skates, so that was amazing.

37. Share an unpopular film opinion you have? I think the 1997 TV movie version of The Shining is better than the original film.

57. Movies you know you should watch, but can't bring yourself to do it? Mean Girls, Donnie Darko, Casablanca, St. Elmo's Fire, The Italian Job, The Untouchables, Bad Kids Go to Hell.

So I tried to make today awesome and fun, and when I do that, I always fuck something up. So I mostly spent the entire day with people who don't really listen when I speak because I always forget that I'm only supposed to talk about whatever they're interested in.

The best parts were getting live updates from my mom's night out with her burlesque troupe, and texting Laurel about MASH and Firefly because we're cool kids who have a lot of emotions.

I mean, if I couldn't get together with a few of my tumblr folk and form a morbid Breakfast Club tonight, I guess nothing was going to be satisfying.

1. Of the fic you’ve written, which are you most proud of?

Back in the day, I wrote a 17 chapter Supernatural fic that I haven't reread since I originally published it, but it was completed and I was satisfied with it at the time, so I refuse to think any less of it.

2. Favorite tense?

I love starting out in past tense and coming to a "so here's where we are" moment and keeping it present tense from there. I get tripped up in present tense sometimes, but I love it.

3. Favorite POV?

I LOVE third person. First person feels too personal for me sometimes, and sometimes there's a lot of details I want to share that I just don't believe the main character would notice or mention.
