#Empire~S4 Ep9: Slave to Memory ~ Recap & Review~ #fallfinale

The finale was on fire. The Lyons shut the Dubois family down. Then ended with a bomb dropped confession from Andre. Followed by the coo-coo coming from Claudia. Yes, Claudia is back. It's one thing after another. The Lyons has more battles to fight and more demons to overcome. It's recap time.

The episode opens with DJ Flex introducing Empire number one artist. Then comes Andre to the stage. Now was Trai singing? Was anyone else wondering that same thought? Andre is truly off in his world. Andre becomes agitated. Lucious is by his side. The doctor tells Lucious that Andre may not be the same was all the drugs is out his system. Lucious checked her very quickly. "You do understand my son is going to be perfectly fine, right," Lucious told her.  Now Lucious bid seeming like his self in this scene. He tells a comatose Andre, "the people who did this to you is going to pay." Is Lucious truly back? 

Lucious keep saying he back. As Cookie is getting ready to attend Eddie's party, Lucious wants to know which Dubois he can take down. Cookie is still skeptical about Lucious return. She denies his involvement. Who is he going to be when the war comes to an end? Dwight can't handle violence but Lucious can. Cookie needs Lucious not Dwight right now. However, he again claims he is back. Cookie puts the conversation off until after Eddie's party.

Diana is preparing her Captain's Ball. She has top-notch security and she having background checks on all employees working the event. Angelo questions his mother about her timing. He feels she shouldn't be having this event. Angelo is a smart man. Nothing is going to keep the Lyons from that ball. Diana told Angelo she is at war with anyone. I like to know what she called all the treacherous moves she speaking. It all seems like war to me. The same part is Anika is team Dubois now. What is she Diana's assistant? I mean she gave Anika things to do like she an assistant. I am just saying. 

At Eddie's party, the Lyons family tries to talk him into staying. With Lucious being back to himself, Eddie doesn't feel he is needed any longer. Cookie asked Eddie, "Do you think he back?" Eddie said let's find out. He called Lucious out. Lucious said, "he the worst man on the land. " Sounds like he back to me. Eddie and Lucious sit at the piano and sing a song. Now, is that Forest Whitaker is singing? Lol.

After the party, the Lyons have to strategize taking down the Dubois family. Cookie ready to give Lucious back his throne in his office but Lucious tells her to take her seat on her throne. Thirsty arrives. He tells Cookie Diana got it shut down. They will not be getting in there. Cookie thought they could pull the same scheme they did in Vegas. Remember when trying to take down Guliana; they used the catering service because Cookie was barred from the casino.  While they are trying to come up with a plan, Lucious is on the piano playing music. I guess. Cookie couldn't think of him playing that music. Cookie doesn't feel Lucious is back, so she is keeping them out the loop. Lucious gives Cookie the plan she needs to get into the Captain's Ball. Everyone love music so why not use music to get into the Captain's Ball; that's Lucious plan. Them bougie people don't know nothing about music Empire puts out. We all know Diana party is going to be bougie. But Cookie like Lucious plan. After the meeting, Thirsty runs into Becky. She is sitting at the bar crying. At Eddie's party, we saw Becky get nauseated from the smell of shrimp. When Thirsty mention hormones; Becky gets offended. She smacks Thirsty. Thirsty is very smart and figured out that Becky is pregnant. Will she tell JPoppa she is pregnant? 

Jamaal gets an unexpected visitor. His back is turned, he doesn't see Warren just entered his condo. Jamaal gave him some bruises. Hearing Warren's voice, Jamal picks up at the knife.  Warren paid the doorman $10,000 just to see Jamal. That must be love. Instead of taking the money and leaving town, Warren used it to see Jamaal instead. Jamaal is trying to act like his feelings for Warren is dead, but you can tell he still loves Warren. Warren admits to deserving the beat down Jamaal gave him. Because he loves Jamaal and hates his aunt, he gives Jamaal some information that will bring Diana down to her knees. Warren truly messed up. I think Andre suffered the worst thanks to Diana. Warren should have told Jamaal once he fell in love with him. However, I feel they can work it out with time. Warren shouldn't give up on him. 

Cookie and Lucious are headed out. Lucious feels his leg is causing people to feel he is less of man. He tells Cookie regardless of his leg and half of the memory, his family, is being an attack. He wants revenge. This all started with Cookie. Cookie broke Angelo's heart.  Because of that, Diana came after Cookie and her sons. Vengeance belongs to Cookie. Angelo gets in his car to find his driver isn't who he expected. Cookie and Lucious take over. Maybe Lucious is back. When Angelo doesn't agree to sign a confession about his mom actions against the Lyons; things get ugly. Lucious pistol whip Angelo and use him to get in the Captain's Ball. 

Angelo gets Cookie and Lucious on the ball. He warns his mother the Lyons was at the ball. Before you know, Cookie and Lucious are dancing with an audience watching. Afterwards, Jamaal and Hakeem take to the stage and perform the son Trapped. Diana secrets come to light. Warren drops the bomb on Diana kidnapping Bella. Then Cookie revealed everything Diana has done. Now, I wanted this takedown to go differently. I feel Cookie should have gotten a few smacks in there. Remember that smack she gave Nessa. Yeah, Diana needed a few of those. 

The OMG moment for me was the news Hakeem dropped. Anika was apart of Bella's kidnapping. Unbelievable. I am confused about Anika. She wanted Bella to be the heir to Empire. That's why she pushed Rhonda downstairs. So why team up with Diana Dubois? Anika should know by down you can't keep the Lyons down too long. Now, she lost it all AGAIN. But, you truly see Hakeem's growth in this scene. He could have sent Anika to jail, but he didn't. However, she better hope Diana doesn't throw her under the bus to save herself. So happy Hakeem got his daughter back. Bella will continue to make an honest and decent man out of him. 

Cookie continues to throw Diana under the bus at the Captain's Ball. Diana shows her to true colors. She calls her guest pathetic. As Diana tries to leave the ball, she is stopped by the police. She thinks they are there for Cookie but boom; Diana is arrested for kidnapping Bella. Angelo arrives at the hotel where Warren is waiting for Jamaal. Warren thought he was opening the door for Jamaal, but unfortunately, it's a gun-packing Angelo. Warren gave the Lyons clan everything they needed to destroy the Dubois family. So Warren put love over family. I hope that means him and Jamaal are going to try to work past his deceitfulness in the beginning. Angelo has lost his mind. Sadly, he really could have to rebuild his life.  Jamaal arrives and sees Angelo pointing a gun at Warren. Angelo shoots Warren. Jamaal and Angelo wrestle with a loaded gun. I was hoping Jamaal didn't get shot again. Boom, Angelo goes down. Is Angelo dead?  Will Jamaal go to jail? Will Warren still be in the picture? How is Diana going feel when she finds out her son is dead? Sometimes revenge backfires. Unfortunately for Angelo, his need for revenge didn't end as he expected. 

The ball is over. Lucious is headed to see Andre. After the takedown of Diana, Cookie is exhausted. She heads home instead. Lucious wants to know if Cookie is moving out or in his bedroom. Cookie decides to move out. She feels they need to take things slow this time. I think that's a good idea. As a family, they have been through a lot. Then Lucious is still battling with identity issues. I don't feel Cookie made the wrong decision. Her and Lucious have a love that has been tested with plenty trial and errors; it's best for them to take it slow. Rekindle a place of new found love. 

Back at Empire, Eddie is about to leave. But his ex-wife storms in and dropped a bomb on him. It looks like Eddie invested all his money into a scam. Bad investment equals broke for Eddie. His wife who appears to be living an expensive life wants answers. How is Eddie going to fix this and take care of multiple families? Whatever his plan is, I hope it doesn't include betraying Cookie and Lucious. Eddie has been helping Cookie at Empire. He has some ideas in his head. That's what he told his ex-wife. I have to say; Nicole Ari Parker gets more beautiful with age. I would love to see more of her on Empire. Cookie needs a best friend it something. Lol.  Whatever Eddie have in mind, it better not be betrayal is all I have to say. Shine already is unworthy and has no loyalty to Cookie and Lucious. They don't need anything old friend with secret intentions.

Back at the mansion, Cookie was moving out back to her place. She changes her mind and stays at the mansion. At the hospital, Shine visit Andre. Lucious walks in just in time. Shine was about to kill Andre. Shine knows Andre is breaking down. It's only a matter of time before Andre tells the truth. And boom he did.  Once Shine leaves, Lucious tells Andre they clapped back on the Dubois family. Now, Andre is very sedated.  He says out loud, "Pop, please forgive me." He then says, " The bomb. I tried to kill you." Can you say the look on Lucious face was a pure shock? But what did Lucious expect? Every change they had to take Anika down for the killing of his wife and child; Lucious saved his self. Before Lucious could respond, he was injected with a needle in his neck. Claudia is back, and a woman scorned but in love with Dwight. Lucious waked up and trapped with Claudia. Cookie wakes up to Lucious being MIA. 

The Lyons family just can't get a break. The plot has thickened. The Dubois family has been taken down, but they left scars on the Lyons cub. Hakeem lost Tiana. Can he get her back? Jamaal found and lost love. Will Warren and Jamaal remain a couple? Jamaal killed Angelo (maybe). How will he regroup from murdering someone? We all saw what happened to him when he got shot.   And then there is Andre. Will Andre return to his full brain? Will he be affected physically in any other way? Healing takes time but these some heavy wounds to carry. How will Lucious get away from Claudia? How will Lucious deal with Andre's confession? How will Cookie find Lucious?  

Empire ended the fall season on a high note. You can help but wish it was Spring already. The questions we have, we want answers. Unfortunately, we have to tune in Spring 2018.  Take a SNEAK PEEK at what to look forward to next year.

#EmpireFinale

I remember seeing previews of this show while watching Gotham on demand. Of course I guess what really made me want to watch this show was the idea that your season 1 finale promo introduced NF's first song (not from my perspective). There was even a time where one of Your songs which was called "Can't Truss Em" played during a Gotham promo. I liked the song "Can't Truss Em" because It helped me during rough times along with No Apologies, You're so Beautiful, Good Enough, Keep your money, Drip Drop, Born to love you, never love again, One More Minute, Love is like a Drug, Trapped, and Powerful, but then there's music that I don't like but I'm not gonna list them off. The show was pretty popular back in 2015, I've seen a few SNL sketches of the show on YouTube. There was some crazy moments of Empire that I will NOT put in order, like Cookie hitting Hakeem with a broom TWICE, Lucious putting Jamal in the trash, Lucious' mom almost drowned him to death, Jamal coming out during a song, Hakeem and Tiana getting together, Rhonda falling down the stairs while she was pregnant, Lucious getting arrested, Jamal got shot by Freida Gatz after she found out Lucious killed her father, Cookie's Dad kicks her out of the house and then dies of a heart attack because of it, Lucious' mom is revealed to be alive, Jamal killed Angelo Dubois (which is what that Uncle Tom deserved), Hakeem got kidnapped and then gets Anika pregnant and then later the baby is kidnapped by the Dubois family, Bruce Wayne becomes Batman (Wrong show but still my favorite episode) Lucious kills Shine Johnson also known as the host of Pimp My Ride, Andre had a hallucinogenic girlfriend, Hakeem almost got married, Lucious loses his memory, Hakeem getting shot, and loses one of his lungs, Jamal lies and says two Trump supporters attacked him (oh wait that was Jussie), and finally Kingsley reveals himself as the b*****d son of Lucious and White Tracy, Lucious' Ex/Crackhead Mama. Many people didn't like Kingsley because he was trying to run the Empire, but then they felt bad when he blew his brains out at the end of Season 5, because Andre needed a new heart, but then everybody hates him again when he takes over Andre and ruins his marriage with Terri, and now Andre is going to South America and is probably never coming back, and I honestly don't blame him because I'm pretty much done with this show. I'll admit that there was a time where I did like the show, because it had it's ups and downs, especially when I unfollowed Empire's Twitter (which I've known for retweeting or commenting on my hilarious tweets) because they kept retweeting a show that I don't watch called Star which was cancelled after 3 seasons on a cliffhanger, and now there's only one episode of Empire left, but there should have been 2 or 3 more but the Coronavirus is ruining everything and everyone's in quarantine. So what I'm trying to say, is that I can't watch the series finale of Empire on Tuesday, April 21st is because it's the same day as when The Flash and DC's Legends returns, so what I would like to say, Thank You Empire for the songs you gave us, and Thank You Lee Daniels for existing. TO THE EMPIRE!!!!!!!!!! #empirefox

#Empire S3 Ep18: Toils & Trouble~Part 2~ The Finale!! Recap & Review #Coocious

Explosive, Explosive finale!  No other choice but to give this episode a (10) rating. Man oh man, I was on the edge of my seats. Let's talk and recap Empire Finale. It's was a don't move out your seat episode and filled with OMG moments.

This episode open with  Lucious and Guiliana arriving in Las Vegas. After Mama Leah crazy episode, Lucious has her locked in a room. Mama Leah isn't too happy about that. But she apparently still losing her mind. Mama Leah feels like she had her son back. "It's not sanitary to keep that in here," Mama Leah said. I never expected what we saw. She had Tariq head as a trophy. Yes, Mama Leah is certifiable crazy. Jamaal and Cookie discuss why he decided to be a part of Inferno. Being a part of Inferno will get people excited for his album When Cookie Met Lucious. Sounds like a good idea, but we all know things doesn't go as planned for the Lyons. This album sounds like an excellent album.

I hope this album have its soundtrack. That would be great. It's time they start making some videos for these songs. Jamaal told Cookie he is going to talk to Lucious about her coming to Vegas.  Cookie makes it clear; she will only be there to see him perform. I love Cookie and Jamaal relationship. It is very touching. Hakeem is losing his mind over his daughter being missing. He had an entourage of people at his condo. Bella has become his world. If they don't find Bella soon, I wonder what will that do to Hakeem. Anika tried to calm him down but get interrupted by a phone call. Mama Leah called Anika and told her to get her things and her mail unless she wants her to open it. Mama Leah can't stand Anika. I wouldn't go there if I were Anika.  Mama Leah is gone crazy, Anika might be her next victim.

Charlotte makes it clear she wants no violence on the streets of Vegas. The Lyons might can't keep that promise. Andre and Shine discussed their take down and take over plan for Leviticus Vegas and Lucious. Shine asked Andre, "You really hate him that much." Shine was preferring to Lucious. Who knows just how much Andre has endured with Lucious being that he is the oldest. Andre want Lucious dead. Shine introduced him to a guy name Franco. He is an expert in blowing things up. Looks like Andre about to create some real fireworks and trouble for Leviticus Vegas and Lucious. He is truly his father's child but to me more dangerous.

Lucious tells Hakeem he was close to finding Bella. He really was but who knows when they will find Bella. The family want Hakeem in Vegas but Hakeem doesn't want to go to Vegas. He wants to stay home, looking for his daughter. Hakeem wants to know why Anika acting so calm. It is strange. As a mother myself, I would be drinking shots, pacing the floor and and eyes blood shot red from crying so much. Anika too calm, very calm.. hmmmm. Cookie and Lucious tries to get him to understand as a mother you have to stay calm. I don't know about all that. A little calm and flooding thoughts sounds more right to me. Anika is at Lucious' house packing. Mama Leah is so happy to get rid of Anika. Her shots at Anika has been so funny. Anika was so clueless. Mama Leah got something up her sleeve. She was looking so devious. That smile was sneaky as hell.  She took Anika her mail on a tray. Now, when she suggested using the letter opener; Mama Leah had a nice smile. I just knew she was going to kill Anika. Anika is crazy for sitting there with Mama Leah. 

Charlotte have a press conference about the opening of Leviticus Vegas. Charlotte introduced Andre to her husband. She looked worried . I guess she doesn't want her husband to know she sleeping with Andre. She was trying to get away from Andre so fast.  Andre threw his own shot at Charlotte about being on top. That smirk on his face was so devilishly. 

 Lucious has lifted the black book off Cookie. She is invited to the Vegas opening. However, she isn't allowed to come backstage. Lucious plan to franchise his Empire. Cookie wants to know, " who will sit on the throne with him." Guiliana, what the hell!!!! How dare he not have Cookie by his side? Guiliana is a snake. How can he trust her? She in the board room so happy and signing papers. She really acting like Lucious' First Lady. Poor Cookie!! She have to watch the love of life with another woman. She ended things with Angelo because she finally realized, she will forever love Lucious. I guess she came to her sense too late. Then again, them stares Lucious give Cookie seems like love to me. But Cookie is hurt. 

Jamaal and Becky is at Leviticus NY. It's open mic night at Leveticus. Jamaal has a little attractive going on with Warren. He was a performer who song Jamaal's song, Born to Love. Could Jamaal be getting a new love interest? 

OMG! Anika goes to Ms. Dubois' house. She knew where the baby was and in on the baby being taking then missing. Thanks to Mama Leah, Hakeem followed Anika. I guess Mama Leah still has some sanity in that brain. Hakeem bangs on the door. Angelo enters the room telling him to calm down son. Hakeem tells him Angelo, "I am not your son and thank God my mother didn't marry your ass." I am glad as well. It looks like Angelo is backing the kidnapping of Bella. Oops, the fake kidnapping of Bella. Looks like Anika was in on this all a long. Wow! How cold is that? Maybe Andre should have killed her. Hakeem said he would do anything to see his daughter again. His wish came true. Ms. Dubois rung for them to bring Bella. Looks like Hakeem just agreed to betray his family in order to be in his daughter life. Looks like the Lyon family has meet their match. Ms. Diana Dubois is one devious woman. I must say, Phylicia Rashad is playing the hell out this role. I am loving her being a villian. 

Charlotte and Andre about to have sex. Don't seem like she worried about her hubby now. He tells her he made a video of them having sex.  Andre is now extorting Charlotte. Boom, payback a mother.

Cookie is backstage. ookie calls Shine and tells him you understand what I mean when I say take care of my family. Lucious catch Cookie backstage when he told her not to be. Guiliana arrived, talking about Cookie doesn't respect boundaries. Lucious calls for security and Cookie said, "they goon better not put his hands on me. I know that damn much". Cookie is such a feisty woman. She be going  so hard, lmao. Lucious tells Cookie listen with both ears. He tells her, this club, my money, my fruits and my  labor, my kids is all for the woman he love. He had his finger pointed in Cookie face. You can see the steam brewing as she smack Lucious hand out her face. The poison of the snake is gone. Lucious tells Giuliana to kick rocks. Lucious makes it crystal clear, Cookie is the love of his life. He said, " always was and always will be." Giuliana thought she owned Leviticus Vegas but Lucious bamboozled her. Yassssssssss!!!! She was signing everything over to him. Lmao. Reading is fundamental and you can't trust no one. Boom, Giuliana!!! Cookie and Lucious finally got it together. I agree with Lucious, they both made sacrifices. I mean some harsh and deep sacrifices. Cookie wanted to be mad but she couldn't be. Lucious didn't tell her his plans and for some reason, it was all to see a look on her face. He takes her and and tell her come on.

Jamaal comes on stage. Leviticus Vegas present When  Cookie Met Lucious.  Unbelievable!!!!! Jamaal performs his song Mama. Lucious admits that Cookie was right about Jamaal's album.  Jamaal knew about Lucious secrets. Cookie had her own plan in motion. She calls off whatever she had planned for Shine and his boys to do. Shine wasn't happy about that. This was such a touching moment. Jamaal calls Cookie to the stage  and sings to her. Awwww!!! So beautiful it was. ​

Hakeem arrives in Vegas. Lucious asked can it wait. He went and performed a song for When Cookie Met Lucious. Omg, these last scenes had me so teary eyed. Seeing Lucious being the family man he should  have always been. Lucious finally realized  his family is everything. Jamaal  cheering him on to come get his girl. Lucious singing to Cookie, kissing her and smiling.... beautiful moments. The flashback of Cookie and Lucious was perfect. Terrence Howard voice was amazing.

Omg, the damn performer at Leviticus is a Dubois. He was sent to target Jamaal. The Dubois Family has some major clap back for the Lyons. Sadly, they don't see it coming.

Hakeem tells his family Anika found Bella. The family is so happy. He show the family a picture of him holding Bella. Lucious question who house was he in. I can't believe Hakeem lied and said it was Anika parents house.  I understand but hate that he is put in this position thanks to Anika. Lucious just set her up for life, how can she betray the Lyons. Cookie going to beat her down when she find out. You played with her grandbaby. That's a no-no.

Mama leah calls Anika again. She tells her she want to send her the rest of her mail. Anika about to get the surprise of her life. Mama Leah hangs up and the police is in front of her. Next thing you know, the police is Anika's hotel room and arresting her for the murder of Tariq. Mama Leah one bad mama. 

Cookie sees Barry and his wife. Barry is the guy her father wanted  her to marry. Seeing Barry and his wife so happy,  Lucious decides to see the world with Cookie. I assume marriage and all. Cookie and Lucious tells Jamaal, Hakeem and Andre that they are stepping down from the day to day operation of  running Empire. Lucious hands the Empire over to Andre. He gives Andre the castle. Jamaal and Hakeem are artist  and Andre is the one to take Empire to the next level.  Lucious admits he was scared of Andre. He tells him his condition cause him to be powerful. Hakeem and Jamaal heads back to New York. Andre tells Shine his father just handed him the company. Shine feels betrayed. He tells Andre he is going to finish what he started. Andre tried to take the device to initiate the bomb. He didn't succeed. Shine tells his boys to take Andre but And got away. He run and warn his father to not get in the car. Next thing you know, Lucious push Cookie hard as hell to the ground but out the way. The car blows up. Omggggg!!!!! All the tender moments ended sadly. 

Three months later, Lucious is in a coma. Jamaal, Hakeem, Cookie and Andre all by his side. His nurse comes played by Demi Moore. She is very touchy felly with Lucious. Cookie ready to beat her down. Just as the family about to leave, Jamaal notice his father eyes open. Drop your jaw and hit the floor.... Lucious wakes up from coma and doesn't know anyone. Noooooooooo!!!!! Now is not the time for this to be happening. The Dubois Family is coming. The Lyons doesn't need to be weak right now. They are under attack and the Lyons are man down. 

This was a powerful and interesting finale. I am so ready for fall to get here. These months is going by fast so Empire will be back on our TV screens. Get your snacks ready and schedules cleared because Season 4 is going to be full of heat. Stay tune and get prepared!!
