(This has been sitting in my drafts since- 2021?! Oh gosh. Yeah, I was planning on writing down my thoughts on Owl House Season 2 as the episodes aired, but I only managed to jot down random thoughts I wanted to get back to because I could not properly take my eyes off the screen to write things down. And I'm trying to clean out my drafts so as the Owl House in on the mind, please accept my scattered out of context thoughts about season 2A of the Owl House from 3 years ago. Forgot about this when 2B dropped)

These two need to become a power duo, Hunter acting like a kid that watches their parent from around the corner. Wait, face reveal? NOW!? Oh he looks a lot like Hunter. Awww, Hunter is adorable in this scene! Belos seeming more like Philip everyday. Dude, why would you say that! Look at his face, that cut deep! Ah yes, stay safe for my evil plans for you, what a good uncle. No comfort, Uncle of the year, folks!

Okay, I need to reiterate how much I like Hunter! What a likable dork.

He seems so upset and genuinely confused about those voice comments. I like his voice.

Oh, so Luz did talk about him. I don’t she mentioned his name though, that might just be for her. A bad, but sad boy, yeah that about sums it up.

Is he okay? He doesn’t seem okay. Oh he’s losing it. Grave? Grave!? Why are these characters willing to die so quickly!? Eda and Hunter? This isn’t just bumming me out, this is concerning. Belos, what did you do!

Hunter seems so, what’s the word? Like a wild animal? He’s so panicked he’s fighting and struggling like this is a life or death situation, which he probably thinks it is. Belos, what did you do to him!?

Okay, Golden Rule: If we open in the Emperor’s Palace or on any character associated with this coven, prepare for pain. I see I am still paying for that angst comment. 

Yesterday’s Lie is the midseason finale. Midseason finales for animated shows have a habit of slapping me across the face like Luz around unsuspecting sleeping people. 

“Think.” Think. Oh this will NOT end well. I predict right now, this episode will be worse than Eclipse Lake. That episode did a complete 180, it lured me into a false sense of security!

Hi! Sorry for the late answer and I had to look up the word.

As for if Scouts and Captains make fatalistic jokes, I would say perhaps. They would mostly be in a dark humor kind of way, like “we’re going to die at some point on a mission.” Something like that for those who’ve been around long enough.

Though I would doubt fatalistic jokes would work as heavily as Belos always “preaches” the Will of the Titan. If anything they wouldn’t find solace in making those jokes.

Belos: If the Titan’s will is that you will die, then you will die. You cannot argue with the Will of the Titan.

Coven Scouts: Yes, Emperor Belos.

I mostly think that their humor goes in the opposite of fatalistic as they are able to live past the event and live to fight another day. Some Captains joke in this as they find it amusing.

Lilith: Yet there is lack of statistical proof.

Shea: I am statistical proof. The Titan is my witness.

It isn’t until after those who leave the Emperor’s Coven along with Steve, do they realize that they can change destiny. Lilith choose against it, Steve pondered against it, so what is stopping them? They have to process what they’ve done of course as that is never easy and to make it up to the peers of the Boiling Isle.

In your AU are coven scouts usually referred to by their first or last names (excluding Belos)?

It depend honestly. Most superiors like Kikimora or Belos would refer to them as Scouts as they don’t take much time learning every Scouts name because it would be tedious to them. Same goes with the other Coven Heads as they can barely tell the difference outside of prominent feature like seen in the Labyrinth Runners episode.

When it comes to Sergeants training Coven Scouts or Scout Captains who the Scout is assigned to would mostly call them by their last names instead of their first name like in Scout Captains don’t call Coven Scouts by their first name unless they have a strong bond with that Scout or their Squadron. Similarly, Scouts call their captains by their last names as a show of respect, though it isn’t until their bond is strengthened do they call them by their first name as a sign of trust. Though for most, it’s mostly by last name.

I show this particularly with Steve and Lilith’s friendship when they initial start out by Lilith calling him by his last name that gave him, Curran. Over the years they warm up to each other and they start calling each other by their first names.

“Or in general. I mean Steve does exist but...”

Steve I think likes going by his first name because he has a very chill attitude and doesn’t think calling him by his last name suits him very well. He may have thought he wanted to be big, but he doesn’t like being a stiff.

Another reason could be because they wanted to name him Steve like how TFP fans wanted to name a Vehicon Steve from Transformers: Prime which ended up being canon in the comics.
