headcanon meme: vidcund curious 👀

Sexuality Headcanon: Pansexual. Every time I’ve played Strangetown, Vidcund always rolled to be bisexual (which in his case, I interpreted as being pansexual) through ACR. My reasoning for this is that I headcanon that aliens have more than 100 different genders, and Vidcund may or may not be attracted to all of them. 

Gender Headcanon: Male.

Ship: I don’t ship Vidcund with anyone at the moment. He’s just such an intersting ans eccentric sim, I’m still thinking of someone who has a similar energy to him. I could imagine him falling in love with one of the Pollination Technicians, and continuing to get abducted so that he could have time to hopefully convince them to come down and stay in Strangetown with him.

BROTP: Vidcund and all five of his siblings! He’s able to talk about work and conspiracies and the paranormal with Pascal and Lola, and also be convinced to take healthy breaks from work and party with Jenny, Lazlo, and Chloe. 

NOTP: Vidcund and Circe Beaker. I love the unrequited crush dynamic that they have, but I just can’t really think of a situation in which they’d be together again. 

Random Headcanon: Vidcund is the author of a 10 part, 500,000+ word romance fanfiction series about aliens coming to take over the earth. He started the series when he was a teen, and he still works on it in his free time. Not even his siblings know about this, and he guards this secret more closely than he guards any of the scientific discoveries he’s documented.

General Opinion: I like EAxis Vidcund. I’ve had some fun and interesting times playing him. When I think about Vidcund I think about the one time he went to stargaze almost every night without me noticing and ended up having 6 alien kids.

lol but in all seriousness, Mortimer has made A LOT of enemies now. Both Nina and Brandi hate him (and Dina is absolutely furious with him) and he won’t stop stealing their newspapers. But joke’s on him because Dina and the baby will live a Very happy life while he tries to outrun death.

Gender Headcanon: Male

A ship I have with said character: If it hasn’t become obvious, I’m liking him and Antonio together. I think that Nervous needs someone who I imagine as a little more caring/laid-back. Antonio’s years of being a father have developed a sympathetic heart that is perfect for Nervous given his behavior can be erratic and borderline cruel at points (only one nice point and all). This said, their relationship is not and will not be Antonio fathering him.

A BROTP I have with said character: All the Curious brothers + Jenny. In this version of my game I imagine Jenny taking care of Nervous and driving him around. The brothers is obvious of course. To an extent Olive as well, but I usually see their relationship more of her reaching out to him rather than the other way around.

A NOTP I have with said character: I did it before, but never would again.: Nervous and Lola. I was young, haha.

A random headcanon: Nervous is a family sim because he wants stability and a healthy relationship, but is a rare family sim who doesn’t really want his own kids. He’s fine with the idea of step-children, but doesn’t feel a strong desire to nurture.

General Opinion over said character: Nervous is great! Though I am kinda sick of the name, I’m thinking I may have him “renamed” down the road. Having the name “Nervous Subject” is kinda cruel at a point, even if it’s a game. I also think he’s a fun sim to play because he has no points in anything other than activity, he can be hard to befriend, but he’s been a part of almost every welcome wagon in Veronaville!

Wow, that was quick LOL thank you for the ask! I’m a bit rusty, I haven’t played Strangetown in ages but I think I have enough source to come up with something :D

Vidcund Curious

Sexuality Headcanon: Straight

Gender Headcanon: Male

A ship I have with said character: in the past I’ve paired him up with Crystal Vu, Erin Beaker and Circe Beaker (usually without breaking up Loki and her) - but my favourite is definitely Vidcund + Erin! She’s so cute and I like them together despite Loki’s hate for him.

A BROTP I have with said character: as man of science I think he gets along a lot with Mortimer Goth, who I imagine as his mentor.

A NOTP I have with said character: I see a lot of different canons for Vidcund, but the one I can’t see happening in my game is Vidcund + Loki... I like them more as enemies :P

A random headcanon: he initially wanted to keep living in his childhood home but he later decided that it would be better off in his own place... Before his brothers decided to tag along! He’s very protective of his siters and he has a soft spot for his niece Jill.

General Opinion over said character: I love Vidcund and his brothers,. I think they’re one of the most interesting families of the game! However I can’t stand his hairstyle, it’s usually the first thing I change when I have the chance lol

Gender Headcanon: Male

A ship I have with said character: he belongs with Nervous <3 I can’t imagine him without anyone else (although sometimes I prefer aging Nervous down and match him with Cassandra Goth).

A BROTP I have with said character: John Mole! They both love videogames and robot crafting :)

A NOTP I have with said character: definitely he doesn’t get along with his brother in-law, Pt #9, although he loves his nephews to bits.

A random headcanon: he gaves birth to a baby boy, Tycho, and he raised him with his wonderful husband. He’s an avid collector of rocks and metals.

General Opinion over said character: I will never forget the first time I played with the Curious brothers and I saw Pascal giving birth to an alien, it was one of the funniest moments I have ever witnessed in The Sims!

Sexuality Headcanon: Straight

Gender Headcanon: Male

A ship I have with said character: usually he ends up dating Nina Caliente, but I think he would be a nice match for Kaylynn Langerak and Crystal Vu too!

A BROTP I have with said character: he’s still a obsessed about technology, but I also see him as quite active and a bit of a party animal - that’s why he gets very well with Don Lothario! He’s also quite close to Ajay Loner.

A NOTP I have with said character: he can’t stand Kristen Loste. He’s still quite upset for when she rejected him in high school...

A random headcanon: he’s quite interested in paranormal, but he doesn’t like to share his passion with his brothers. He’s been struggling a lot with his beliefs, but ever since his meeting with a few of the Grand Vampires from downtown he’s trying to discover which other occults are out there.

General Opinion over said character: I find him the less interesting of the three brothers, but at the same time I think he’s the cutest (with a nice makeover, obvs).

Right, this was quite funny to write down :D I’m just going with the 3 brothers, not sure if @emmrokplayssims meant a post for the rest of the sisters XD

The neighbors’ gathering is an absolute failure because apparently I have a mod that makes reading super interesting, and everyone ignores poor Matthew. While Jessica is still napping upstairs, their General asks if they want to go to Downtown.

Their outing consists in General Buzz, Circe Beaker (nice dress), bad witch Kimberly Cordial, and Tank. It makes me sad that he has no friends, and has to go out with his dad's. Also Kimberly spends most of the night bullying him, poor Tank! I have a soft spot for him ever since I read @emmrokplayssims​ headcanon.

Sexuality: There’s only ever one woman on Vidcund’s mind— Circe Salamis. Every time he closes his eyes he can see how the cold lights of her home lab reflects off of her expansive collection of scalpels and knives. She’s always there, looming in the edges of his mind with embers and fire in her eyes. Circe is cruel and cold, calculating and conniving, and he adores that about her. Vidcund knows exactly how much Circe’s wedding ring actually means to her, and how much she values the control she has over both Loki and her test subject. The thing is, Vidcund doesn’t realize how little of his pining for Circe is of his own volition and how much of it is simply Circe playing her little games. 

Gender: Male

Random Ship: Vidcund pines and yearns for Circe, but still, he prefers to work alone. Living at the edge of discovery, in the grey area of legality and in the shadows of moral alignment is exhausting and leaves very little time for romantic endeavors, and Vidcund wouldn’t have it any other way. 

BROTP: Vidcund and Loki Beaker. Both men are a lot more similar than either would care to believe. Both are ill-tempered, stubborn, and had their own moments of cruelty. More importantly both Vidcund and Loki are enamored by Circe. Whether she reciprocates feelings for either man (or if she is even capable of such emotions) is a mystery. Vidcund and Loki are enemies, same as they are in the EAxis universe— they’ve just got a sort of interesting relationship with eachother. Scientists who are in and out of prison can really only confide in one another. What little Vidcund does tell Loki about the experiments and projects he’s doing isn’t told to the Daily Nova nor is it reported to the police, and vice versa. There’s no friendship or companionship between these two sims, just a flimsy alliance borne out of necessity. 

NOTP: Vidcund and his siblings. After what happened to Tycho, the trust that his siblings once had in Vidcund has since gone. Pascal, Lola, and Chloe are no contact with him. Pascal took it the worst, which was almost expected. He was already quite a paranoid and cautious sim to begin with, and this was only heightened by the kidnapping of his son. Pascal never lets Tycho out of his sight now, much less leave the house unless it’s completely necessary. He’s just too afraid of anyone coming in to take Tycho again. 

Jenny and Lazlo talk to Vidcund, but very rarely. Both feel extremely conflicted about doing so— on one hand, both sims value family, and science, but on the other hand, the fact that Vidcund went out and kidnapped and later sold his own alien nephew just to fund an project was almost too much for them to bear. 

Random Headcanon: Vidcund’s vices, much like many scientists and geniuses of his caliber,  are his narcissistic traits and his vanity. He wants to go down in history, and even if he is a little too far gone to be regarded as a scientific hero rather than a cautionary tale, that doesn’t stop him from publishing his (heavily redacted) findings or continuing to patent his inventions. He does think about Tycho, often, in fact. As he tends to the hydroponic garden, he finds himself deep in his mind thinking about what would’ve been done to him, but also about all the findings he could’ve published and all the breakthroughs his project would’ve gotten at his expense. He knew full and well that what he did was cold and callous, but one life in exchange for an entire lifetime’s worth of research and discovery was a small price to pay. 

General Opinion: I love my version of Vidcund and the EAxis Vidcund equally. I like the lighthearted dorkiness of the EAxis one, but at the same time I’ve always had a soft spot for darker characters too.  I didn’t join the simblr community as a Vidcund stan, but I can sort of feel myself becoming one. I created this version as a joke at first, but he’s growing on me.

1. I'm very fond of Russian literature, and I have the habit of reading a great Russian novel each summer. This year's novel is "The Master and Margarita".

2. I have a birthmark that covers about half of my left foot. When I was a child I thought that if I ever got lost for a long time, my family would be always able to recognise me by this birthmark.

3. Most perfumes make me sneeze. I don't know if I'm allergic or just very sensitive but it's really hard for me to stand next to someone who wears perfume. If I was a sim, my turn off would be cologne.
