One of the Youngest Entrepreneurs of the World - Emmanuel Ventouris
Being an entrepreneur is something that nearly every individual wishes to become. After hearing the success stories of Microsoft, Facebook, Zara, Amazon & hundreds of other brands and their founders, who have worked passionately and achieved their goals in life; everyone wishes to be one. Emmanuel Ventouris, Daymond John & Mark Cuban et-cetera are one of the ground-up entrepreneurs for you to look up to.
These founders are inspiration for the youth, encouraging them to do what they love and be successful in terms of money as well as mental peace. One of the many inspired individuals was Moziah Bridges, who wished to become like the famous fashion brand founder, Daymond John of FUBU.
Little Steps to Success
Moziah Bridges was 11 years old when he came on Shark Tank to meet his fashion idol, Daymond John, and to get a deal from the sharks for his bow-ties’ company Mo’s Bows. He was 9 years old when he learnt sewing from his grandmother and started his company for premium bow-ties for men.
He learnt the business by doing what he loved i.e. fashion. In one of his statements, he has said, “I always like to look good”, which shows his desire to always be fashionably updated. He handcrafted and sold over 2000 pieces of bow-ties before coming on Shark Tank.
His enthusiasm and zeal was positively reflected to all the sharks, but he did not get a deal. It came to him as a boon because he got Daymond John as a mentor.
Since Shark Tank, he has been on many shows like The Steve Harvey Show, MSNBC, NBC’s “Today” show, CNBC’s “Squawk Box”, FOX & in O, The Oprah Magazine and have also been a part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Success is not far
After visiting the fashion week, Daymond received a call from Karen Katz, who is the CEO and President of the Neiman Marcus Group, one of the most renowned fashion groups of the world. The call was not for Daymond, it was for Moziah.
In one of his interviews, Daymond told the reporter that he has never been a part of Neiman Marcus with any of his brands and it took a 12-year old kid to get the CEO of the group to call him. It was a true student teaching the teacher moment.
In four years of Mo’s Bows, he sold $5500 worth of goods in 2 years and $200,000 worth of handmade bow-ties and other men’s fashion accessories in the following two years. His mother, Tramica Morris, has been his support throughout the venture and has been the CEO of the young Moziah.
Daymond John accepted in one of his interviews that when he saw the young CEO along with his single mother, he was reminded of his childhood and he even told Moziah on the show that in 1989, he was offered $10,000 for 40% of his hat company which grew in the world famous brand FUBU, valuing at $100 Million. He wanted the little child to understand the value of a brand against the money being offered; later accepting to be his mentor for free.
Daymond is a mentor to all the people he has invested him and treats Moziah the same way as he does to all his other entrepreneurs. He has advised the young CEO to avoid investments because the company is in the growing stage and bootstrapping is way better for the future than taking investments. He also told him to avoid denim and expand into neckties to have a fashion accessory brand.
Guidance is important
Daymond has been a part of the company few weeks after the Shark Tank episode and has helped Mo’s Bows to acquire licensing deals with companies like Cole Haan and Neiman Marcus. The products are available on the stores’ online shop as well as brick-and-mortar outlet.
Bridges has learnt that success comes with responsibility, so he decided to make an annual bow tie to use 100% of the proceeds to help underprivileged kids for summer camp. He has inspired the kids from his hometown and plans to have his own clothing line by the time he’s 20 years old, following the footsteps of his mentor, Daymond John.
Daymond confirms that Moziah is more focused and ambitious than himself, when was in his early 20s and moreover, he has the support of his mother and grandmother for his beautifully structured company, Mo’s Bows.
The World is a Market
Moziah’s love for bow-ties and other men accessories is expressed perfectly in his interviews and discussions. There are premium bow-ties for men in UAE, USA and UK, which shows how big a market it is. If right guidance is provided to Mo and his company, then worldwide success is not so far or difficult for this young entrepreneur. He shows that if an individual is really passionate about something and is ready to work hard for it, then anything & everything can be achieved.
