This month was already tight after taking so much time off for the wedding, but now my new spouse Lauryn’s cracked tooth we hoped to deal with after the new insurance kicked in got infected and became unsafe/unbearable.
So I just dropped $1500 for emergency dental work.

Still exhausted after his vet appointment this morning
#both he and dante went to get vaccinations and wellness checks#apparently goose has a slight heart murmur which is y'know.....concerning#and he also needs dental work which i already knew#and they both got blood and urine taken to do a ''senior wellness panel'' bc i'm very paranoid about my cats' health rn#goose is probably gonna have dental work done next month and needs to have tests done to try and figure out what's causing his heart murmur#so we're gonna have to spend a few thousand dollars to do all that which is not great#but i'd rather eat into my parents' savings to do preventative care than do it for emergency care that ultimately didn't help anyway like#with Tweak#meanwhile Dante's (at least outwardly) in perfect health i just need to start brushing his teeth cause he's getting some tartar#goose tag#my pets#cats#also goose was hiding in the corner for most of the appointment (when he wasn't being examined)#but when they took dante back to get a urine sample goose came out and was going around the whole exam room like he was looking for him 😭😭#also the vet couldn't get a good listen to dante's heart and lungs because he was purring too loud gsfjk

i got my wisdom teeth out (abridged version, i was not put under, i babysat a half hour later. long story) and i am in PAIN. also taking out the bloody mess of a gauze every hour fucking sucks. i almost yakked every time i pulled it out of my mouth. the worst part? every time i burp i taste remnants of paper towel. i need to know if anyone else can relate. this is so gross. im tired
#long story short i was going to go to the consultation then babysit#and it turns out the dentist was like 'wanna just get it done now? it'll only take a half hour'#'umm no thank u i have to babysit :) what about tomorrow?' 'really? tomorrow? you're already here!'#your tooth is already infected. you don't want to risk having to go to the emergency dentist' or something#'you don't want to have to drive back out tomorrow. our clinic prefers to do same day procedures'#like sure ok !#this was all said assuming i'd be able to handle babysitting after and the family that i work with was so sweet (albeit so confused about#it all haha)#i don't understand why my wisdom teeth removal had less recovery time and i didnt need to be put under#especially because i essentially needed a bone graft as well because of my sinuses being right next to my teeth#this isn't like a scammy dental clinic though i think there's so many stories of regular dentists trying to upsell#i did get a several hundred dollar discount on the procedure because they didn't take my insurance#only place that'd take my insurance is 2 hours away lol#my mom has a health insurance card she has to put money on every paycheck and in this instance it really worked out#bc if not itd never be taken care of#the gauze part was so hard#also the mom didnt come home til 45 minutes after i was supposed to go home and i was lowkey in agony#because the numbness wore off#and the gauze was so disgusting#i was like. so fed up i lowkey wanted to cry while building blocks with the little kid lol#ibuprofen fully kicked in as im typing this actually we r okay

#this is kinda the worst week ever#my partner got a call from their dad saying they have to put down their dog (who’s 14 years old)#then their grandma got pneumonia and passed away in the hospital yesterday#everyone at my job got covid#so I’m working overtime#and someone at work accidentally broke my laptop which I can’t afford to replace bc I’m helping my mom get dental implants#just kinda overwhelmed#I might open up emergency commissions to help out#but yeah what a nightmare

#just had a 4 hour long panic attack#my dog got into the weed chocolate#we're pretty sure she only got one square#called the emergency vet they asked for approximate dose#the vet said to let her sleep it off and she should be okay but if i notice new symptoms to call back#but she's just swaying and shaking and nodding off#and it's really freaking me out but if the vet says to just watch her I'll do that#so she's sleeping now#but she's so high#i literally cried my eyes out for hours#if she died from this i would kill myself genuinely i would kill myself#my stomach is in knots it hurts so bad and i feel like I'm going to throw up#i can't believe i have to fucking work in the morning. i was supposed to be off#but my coworker has an emergency dental appointment for an abscess and i have to go open at work now#all I'm going to be able to think about is Archimedes i can't handle this#i feel so sick to my stomach right now I'm not going to be able to sleep at all#how can i fucking sleep knowing my baby is going through this I'm crying again typing this#and to clarify they weren't even within reach of the dogs#i fucking dropped the pieces when i was trying to give my boyfriend some and she was under my feet#i feel like it's all my fault. she got one before i could pick them all up#I'm just kicking myself so much right now
