I'm getting pretty close to done for migrating my old FFnet fics over to Ao3. Huzzah. I both wrote more than I thought and about what I thought?

More than I though just because there's more there than I realized. In part, I think, because I also brought over the shared writing I did that was on Emcey's old account.

About what I though because it's all scattered over a number of years. More before college when classes were easier. Less after college started because it was a struggle for classes + writing.

A bit more chaptered fics in the 5/6 chapter range than I realized I'd done, though. I think I'd been under the impression those were shorter than they were. Maybe because the chapters are relatively short compared to what I normally write now?

It's been a bit embarrassing to see some of the fandomy trends that I used to take part in, though past me enjoyed it all so that's what's most important I think. Also embarrassing is some of the internalized issues I realize I had now that kinda poured into my writing. Like a lot of girls growing up, internalized misogyny is just... there. Something that starts when we're tiny and reinforced about as unsubtly as a brick to the face. And I knew it's something I've always struggled with and unlearned a lot with regards to, yet it's still a bit painful to realize just how much I've had to unlearn. But at the same time... I've grown as a person and as a writer, so being able to look back at my old writing and think 'I'd handle this character better now' is something worth being proud of too.

Me as I was porting over my old FF8 fic Second Chances to Ao3 - Now do not get invested in the story again. You don't have time to finally do a full scale re-write of this fic and you've got carpal tunnel symptoms going on. Kitkatt. Please. You do not have a semi-reliable cowriter to keep you on track for updates this time and you will get maybe the prologue done before you run out of steam. Don't do it.

Me now - Alright, there's the prologue redone. With better pacing and some world building off the bat to establish the first layer of the magic system that can be easily built on later, better foreshadowing of why Seifer immediately gets sick post time travel, and some more world building for why Garden sucks but Seifer loves it anyway. (Honestly, he's a fucking masochist, I'd be taking the first train to Esthar and begging to immigrate already. Cid Kramer doesn't know what the hell he's doing and it shows.) And Fujin is hard of hearing now, both to fit with her verbal tic (few words, all caps) and so that she can do the bulk of her talking via sign language and because that's a headcanon I have for her now that I didn't then.

... So, yeah, I got sucked back into that plot idea and since Emcey gave her permission for me to do whatever I wanted with that fic years and years ago, from deleting it to re-writing it from the ground up... I'm finally gonna re-write it from the ground up. Which may very well mean that when I finish replaying Riven, I'll be jumping to FF8 for a refresher. At least I can play on the Switch so it should be fairly light on my wrist.

Hey, Quick question. I don’t know if this has been asked before but I’m curious. I know this would never happen but if Lodec were to somehow meet Gancei what would their thoughts on each other be? Same with Patteit and Deitton, and if you want Emcei and Decni. I’m just curious what the unreformed ones would think of the reformed ones and vice verse. Thanks if you answer this! ~🌸🦙

I can;t speak for Emcei and Decni, but for Gancei and Lodec, Lodec would feel pity for Gancei and Gancei would think Lodec weak and that he is likely to be killed. 

Deitton would see Patteit and not trust them at all and would think it some trick. I think Patteit would cry because they’d remember what it felt like being Deitton and how broken they were. - Tashi )

I’m with this as well, unless you get my permission, please do not role play with my artwork-especially if you go as far as saying that my fusions are the sides themselves too like someone straight up said emcei and moxie were Patton and Virgil and like ??? But yes, and DO NOT repost my art without my permission and credit if I do happen to say yes.

this has been bothering me for some time but something I saw today really made me write this post.

Please don’t roleplay with or about my art/comic/etc without my explicit permission. Other artists may be fine with it, but I am not.

Like @randomslasher LJ said in their post, you should ask the original creator before adding onto or playing with their AU / fic / etc, and I think this applies as well to roleplaying. I don’t feel comfortable with seeing roleplays in the reblogs of my art, especially if they don’t fit the context I imagined for that particular piece.

After making an instagram account, I saw a several people on instagram who had reposted my art and comics without my permission, and I noticed that a lot of them were being used for roleplay. The reposting of course discouraged me a lot, but I expected them to be there. What I was surprised to see were roleplays of my art that I had no idea was happening.

I am not saying I don’t want anyone to ever roleplay with my art. I feel flattered that people were inspired by my art to create their original storylines. Unless it’s an AU of mine I plan on expanding on, I’ll most likely give you the go-ahead if you just asked me.

Just, rule of thumb: if you want to do something, anything, with someone else’s art or fic or whatever, ask them first. It’s as simple as that.
