Can we talk about the music for Bad Buddy? Like no one is talking about it. The acting and story is so above par that the music seems to be missed in discussions. I just finished episode 2 and the music baby oh my :) like name another BL that music is more superior to what Bad Buddy is giving us. It’s like everything is working in this series.

OMG YES! everyone’s reading my mind today! in the review i wrote for the first episode (to a friend, i don’t usually do public reviews alksksks) one of the things i mentioned was the music!

i am a known synth music hoe (and by known i mean my two friends are aware of it because i don’t shut up) and it is Very present in the soundtrack of bad buddy, which naturally pleases me endlessly!

and it’s obviously on purpose because synth has, by default, a very nostalgic sound (80’s influence) which matches the show perfectly, especially since little by little we discover about the boys’ past and how they’ve been liking each other for a long time.

there’s nostalgia in their interactions too because there’s too much history in between them that they simply can’t let go of and it reflects on the music! (check the pharmacy scene from ep 1. the song that plays at the end is heavily synth based).

the main track, just friend?, practically drips with synth and it makes so much sense??? because pran wrote it in high school when his feelings for pat were blossoming. which means that now in college it is an Old Song about Old Feelings. the synth and just friend? are united in perfect and holy matrimony aldkskd

(i’m obsessed with that song, wish gmm would upload it to spotify already, my life is incomplete without it. i check spotify Every Single Day and yet no such luck 😭😭😭 but i have faith they will some day!!!)

anyways, the overall music is indeed very good! and fits the show so perfectly that it’s quite easy to miss and attribute the success to something else. but if the music wasn’t effective, we would definitely feel it! so yes!

10/10 very harmonious, the music department has Amazing taste aksjksksks
