ok, imagine this gets announced:

a tamagotchi live-action/CGI hybrid movie.

if i were in charge, this is how it would go. these seven would be the main tamas:

cast: tom holland as mametchi, ben schwartz as ginjirotchi, ryan reynolds as pochitchi, and... i dunno. you can fill in the blanks for me.

as for what the tamas look like, they're more or less similar to their normal designs, but a touch more realistic. mametchi has short, fine fur, kuchipatchi has rubbery skin, etc. etc.,

the movie starts on the tamagotchi planet, where mametchi is planning an intergalactic road trip with his friends, taking an egg with them. we get a few cameos from other tamas such as maskutchi, pyonkotchi and tarakotchi before our heroes set off. just as they enter our solar system, their ufo runs out of fuel and crash-lands on earth, in san fransisco. mametchi and co. decide to explore, which obviously includes them visiting the golden gate bridge to remind the audience that they're in san fransisco. in one scene that takes place in a forest, kuchipatchi eats some berries that give him the runs, and after they leave, a human finds kuchipatchi's deposits and says, "I'VE FOUND STAR JELLY!"

a little while later, they meet a human, stan (jason marsden). at first they can't understand each other, but fear not: mametchi invented a universal translator device, and now they understand each other just fine. stan learns a little more about the tamagotchis, and takes them to his house to live. the tamagotchis meet stan's girlfriend mika (who is pretty similar to mikachu) and we get a few scenes here, like ginjirotchi listening to an elvis record (tamagotchi video adventures reference) and stan taking kuchipatchi to burger king, where kuchipatchi proceeds to order everything of the menu. maybe a few jokes about the tamas (mainly kuchipatchi) pooping and pochitchi drinking from the toilet and being incredibly ashamed about it. and maybe some ginjirotchi/pochitchi subtext?

but then the main plot gets kicked into motion when the tamas, mika and stan wake up to mametchi just flat-out missing. turns out the us government is so paranoid about alien invasions that they will lock up any alien on site in area 51 (which is basically a maximum-security prison for aliens, and the reason it's so top-secret is so nobody can help the aliens escape), and mametchi is locked up in area 51. so stan, mika, and the remaining tamagotchis hatch a plan to break into area 51 to rescue mametchi. we get a few scenes in las vegas with the tamas causing general chaos, before continuing on with the plot.

stan, mika and the tamagotchis finally arrive at area 51, and the tamas commence their plan to break in. pochitchi pretends to be an earth dog to distract the guards while mimitchi uses her gadgets to disable the locks on the gates. but they don't know which building mametchi is in, so tsuyopitchi comes up with the master plan to use the spy planes to ram into the roofs of all the buildings. soon enough, they get mametchi out, and a bumch of other imprisoned aliens, and we learn that the roswell incident was caused by a tamagotchi that also ran out of fuel and crashed on earth, and both the us government and the gotchi king have been denying that it ever happened. however, the military finds out what happened at area 51, and the tamagotchis, stan and mika escape area 51 in a climactic chase scene. pochitchi is driving a van he got from area 51, and just before they get going, pochitchi puts in a cd labeled "chase music" that has this song on it:

but after the tamagotchis, stan and mika escape, the government learns that most of the aliens locked up in area 51 had no intention of invqding earth and apologizes for their treatment of aliens. as a thank-you, mametchi gives stan the egg that was aboard their ship, and the egg hatches into babytchi. however, just as mametchi plans to leave, the other tamas convince him to let him and them stay with stan. movie's over, cut to credits, with an updated version of "what's a tamagotchi?" from tamagotchi video adventures.
