Catching up with the Pirates lore vod where Apo and Martyn kidnap Cruppy. Biiiig fan of Graecie's cold rage and the way Kuervo calls out Martyn on his hypocrisy.
That was deeply uncomfortable to watch, but my god does it make for a good story.

So, the Corruption existed before Ivy is what I'm gathering here. Ivy was connected to Sandro/Ajax and the Church of Iris spirited her away, potentially to punish him. The Church either did something to her, or Ivy did something to herself that she, quote, "didn't mean to" do.
The animation shows Ivy in purple, caged by Iris. Maybe Ivy took in the Corruption to defend herself from The Church, in an act of desperation?
