Excerpt from 'Warden of the Damned: A Princess' Path to revenge'

After another week of bed rest, Elida finds herself in the River Temple on the edge of northern Kestesh, sitting cross-legged at the foot of a massive indoor water-fountain. An architectural feat unlike anything she’s ever seen before. The stone stands tall — gray and porous, yet unmarred by the constant friction of flowing water — shaped like a woman so heartbreakingly beautiful she can only hail from the Eternal Gardens; an eudaemon; a holy guardian of the gods' realm. Avatar Melchior sits beside her, legs similarly crossed, but he seems less enthralled by the stone woman than Elida is. Perhaps long-term exposure rendered one immune to the effects, though Elida couldn’t imagine a world where the woman didn’t leave her breathless, no matter how many times she laid eyes on the statue.

I was tagged by @pheita excerpt from chapter two of WARDEN OF THE DAMNED rewrites.

Her eyes feel loose in their sockets. She can’t make them focus. They keep drifting away from the face before her, smearing the features into vague shapes. She sees blond hair. Pale skin. Green eyes. As far as her drugged out child mind can tell, before her stands her mother's spirit, come back to nurse her to health. “Mummy?” She slurs, head tilting to the right in a slow arc.

Her mother's spirit reaches out, caressing her cheeks, soothing her, and brushing her hair out of her face. Elida blinks, swallowing hard. The spirit croons, “Oh, you poor girl,” as it comes into focus, revealing it not as her mother, but as the Avatar that tried to drown her.

She screams, and tries to jump out of bed, but her sore limbs won’t respond. The world moves faster than she does, leaving her behind by seconds. She reacts in slow motion. Whatever drug they’d given her overpowers her with ease. The Avatar’s face twists in pity.

Hi Bee! I'm interested about this princess that turns to the darkside for love; could you tell me a little about her love interest? Are they on the darkside too or is it just the princess who becomes villainous? Are they also royalty in a Romeo & Juliet type tragedy? Do they even know of the princess' interest or is this a yandere situation?

oh it's much worse. she was completely innocent. the love Princess Elida and her darling Naurica shared was the purest form of first love. After a tragedy, Elida just happened to be offered an opportunity for...vengeance.
