i did watch the cartoons! tcw and rebels, at least, i haven’t dipped any toes into resistance yet. i think i liveblogged a bit of them back in my eleplays cartoons tag.

in tcw i really liked... the general family shenanigans of anakin, obi wan, and ahsoka. i think one of the first eps that really charmed me was the one where obi wan anakin and dooku all get handcuffed together?? i like ventress. i like the clones and how tcw repeatedly gut punches u about them. i like barriss. i like a lot of them okay!!!

in rebels, chopper was number one. and then everyone else. i found ezra kind of annoying but he’s fine. it can often take a lot for me to be truly endeared to a series’ Main Character especially if they’re a boy lol. (miles from spider-verse was like the first time in ages where i was like oh! i love him! with a main character)

ive been slowly watching vtron s8 and just finished ep9. i feel like the team has the most fun when they do, like, in the flesh fighting (as opposed to cat mech fighting). my fave parts of the series tend to be that

also im sorry i know this is obvious and vtron shipping is too much (don’t bother the real life staff members. be chill) but lance and allura just have no chemistry lmfao!! 😩😩😩 not before and not after. like even now that they’re dating their interactions still aren’t cute they’re very stiff��“well this is what a couple does.” have them be cute with each other if this is going to be a thing????? please, i would have just preferred no canonical romance between any of the paladins

i can’t get heated about vld stuff, i’m here to commentate about how i spent most of s7ep11 distracted by how in the first half of the episode they seemed to really be trying to avoid animating people’s bodies moving? mostly still shots of crowds/groups or people standing/sitting and talking but with little to no body movement. is the production team alright? are they getting enough time because wow these seasons sure are popping out one after the other

i finished s3 and am trying to catch up on s4 tonight! just finished the heroes of mandalore eps

im upset about commander sato. it’s been nice to see asian characters (esp voiced by asian american actors from my quick glanceover?) running around in the star wars universe, i have a special place in my heart for them. shout out to sato you were a cool dude. 

(i really thought they’d vaporized sabine’s mother and brother for a hot second and was in disbelief. i like sabine’s brother, it looks like he let her decorate his armor and that’s cute. sibs!!)

anyway, i understand that otherwise sabine wouldn’t have gotten to join back with the ghost family but i’m very eyeroll at the darksaber/leadership of mandalore being given to bo-katan for a lot of reasons.

also for the entirety of s3 i think they dropped ezra’s crush thing on sabine and i was So glad for it but a few remarks in s4 and i’m like STOP!! stop here do not pass go. the idea of ezra and sabine being a couple is so entirely unappealing. sabine’s gay thanks.. please.. bye

lmaoo not a fan of the ghosts of geonosis eps.

 the only things enjoyable in those were sabine getting to show off with her jetpack and the exchange btwn rex and saw abt kanan being no skywalker. the gerrera siblings deserved better in both shows

i've only watched a few episodes of tcw and one of this series. idk why i never got into star wars shows. i like star wars! i like animation! i wanna watch that traditionally animated one before tcw

i feel like i’ve definitely felt the disconnect between liking a certain series and liking a medium, but not really wanting to consume an offshoot of said series in said medium. i feel it’s like.. not wanting to consume an off-brand favorite food? it has the same dressings of what you like, but since it might not be by the same creators or with the same focus or delivered in the same way, it just feels off? and it’s not what you came there for.

i definitely felt weird trying to get into tcw at first with these cartoon versions of live actors/people. cartoon obi wan, especially his voice, was extremely jarring and off-putting to me because ewan mcgregor playing obi wan is specifically my fave character in star wars. i think what you have to do, if you really want to get into it, is just keep going until what the new show/medium uniquely has to offer invests you. usually the characters imo. (i started off watching tcw just as background noise while working so i’m not sure how long it took me, but it wasn’t instant.) but also it might not happen, and that’s okay!

i actually can’t remember if i finished watching the 2d animated clone wars thing. i think i must have? who knows. but chronologically of the animated shows, that one does come first!

i really want to eventually, i think! unfortunately it’s still not up on netflix or hulu and i would prefer to watch it legally. we’ll see if i run out of other shows. i’m currently trying out arakawa’s farming anime(???)
