I have been doing a lot of reading about cultivating creativity and learning to move and shake despite that ever-present voice in the back of my head that says "NO" or "STOP" and what I am learning is that fear and creativity go hand in hand. They are like siamese twins connected at the heart. When you destroy fear completely, you also nuke your creativity. These two characteristics are meant to work synergistically and not as antagonist. ⠀ ⠀ The truth is girls...fear is a part of life. It never goes away and as women the right amount of healthy fear is what keeps us out of danger. Our lives depend on it, BUT...what must happen in order to be who you are destined to be is you must learn to live with, not kill, that ugly fear-bot. Embrace it, but take its power away. Listen to it...acknowledge that is exists...but take away its voting rights. I Would Rather

Where and when did we as women learn to feel bad for having standards about how we choose to be treated? I would rather be labeled difficult than let anyone walk all over me. I would rather be seen as unaccommodating than be a willing participant in my own disrespect and degradation. I am okay with being perceived as the enemy in the eyes of someone whose aim is to kill my spirit. I am ok...and so are you!
