Electric cars won't save us if the numbers don't add up – economist All the major car manufacturers are now launching pure battery electric models and many governments and municipalities are legislating and regulating to encourage ownership. Strangely, not enough consideration is being given to biofuels despite the many benefits, and the ability to convert older cars (some seriously awesome cars!) to run on it, without major changes to infrastructure and no dangerous mining for battery materials.
