Chevrolet Bolt came out in 2016 General Motors has finally confirmed that the next-generation Chevrolet Bolt EV will debut in 2025. GM CEO Mary Barra made the announcement yesterday at the Automotive Press Association in Detroit. “Sales have been great this year and that led to the decision that we will be back with a new model in '25,” Barra said, although she did not provide any additional details about the future electric vehicle. [caption id="attachment_85706" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Chevrolet Bolt EV[/caption] Official: Next-generation Chevrolet Bolt EV coming in 2025 In October, Barra said the next-generation Chevy Bolt will use "the best features of today's Bolt EUV, as well as Ultium, the latest software, and NACS." In doing so, GM will save "billions in capital and engineering costs by delivering a significantly more fuel-efficient battery using LFP technology." Additionally, moving to LFP will allow GM to have "substantially lower" unit costs. Mary Barra said the new vehicle "will provide an even better driving, charging and ownership experience than the vehicle we know customers love." First released in late 2016, the Bolt has consistently been popular in the US due to its low price and compact design.

The price has not yet been announced The Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan was spotted testing at the Zhejiang International Circuit in Shaoxing. The car is covered in red, white and black camouflage, and its active rear spoiler is raised. Xiaomi will hold a conference in December where the SU7 will be officially unveiled and pre-orders will begin. The date of the conference has not yet been announced, but Chinese media noted that December 27 will mark the 1000th day since Xiaomi announced plans to release the car. Last month it was revealed that Xiaomi would use state-owned BAIC as a contract manufacturer. This is a fairly common occurrence for EV startups in China. For example, Xpeng cars were originally produced by Haima, while JAC produced Nio cars. The first Xiaomi car was filmed on the track. Pre-orders will begin this month [caption id="attachment_85684" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Xiaomi car[/caption] In December, local media reported that Xiaomi SU7 had entered the fifth stage of production line inspection (PT5) at BAIC's Beijing Yizhuang plant. The plant plans to produce 300 test vehicles in December and prepare for mass production in early 2024. In addition, Xiaomi is preparing to release three new models in 2024. First the SU7, codenamed Modena, followed by the Le Mans all-electric vehicle (BEV) and the Kunlun plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
