I began crafting an original species earlier in the year and I'm almost at a point in which I feel comfortable fully spilling the beans on it and it's taking ALL of my energy not to spam my Tumblr with every bit of lore I've compiled over the last few months :')

All I'm genuinely confident in telling about them, for now, is that they are an alien species of equine dragons with some amphibious elements whose culture(s?) are firmly based around their religions and deities.

Absolutely love how every self-respecting latino despises with all their souls the word “Latinx”, to the point even our progressives do so too since it completely undermined their efforts for a true gender-neutral language in the form of the -e suffix, as everyone feels it’s something Americans forced upon us without never asking, which is actually what happened.

... Ahem. Thank you for the wonderful introduction, mod Dreamy(yw !!! :3). To put a long story short, our motivation has been extremely hit and miss for... Probably close to 2 sweeps at this point(~4 years). As a result, we have a hard time doing many things. So, due to factors not just involving the fact that I've fronted significantly less compared to when this blog was active, this blog has, unfortunately, been put in the back burner.

But, due to me really liking this account still, I will be trying to revive this. First off, in a decision that I have been wanting to do for a while, this blog will be moving to being purely a homestuck kin-help blog from now on. Second, as you probably guessed, mod dreamy will be a co-mod alongside me. Third... this place is going to need a *serious* deep cleaning as soon as possible. Like, good grief. Fourth, I will really need to make a queue happen for real this time, as the way that i was making posts near the end there was... Quite mentally taxing for me. And, finally... I'll finally make a promo post once everything's ready.

Now, for full disclosure, the plans won't start overnight. Mostly because, due to the Aforementioned Motivation Problems, doing this is not a super fun idea. But, the point is, I'm going to try to come back.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but looking it up it seems a version mad cow disease can spread to humans by eating infected beef, and that is spreads from cow to cow by feeding beef to cows (sort of weird to think about but apparently this is a thing). Parts of a cow inedible to humans were “recycled” by being fed to other cows, which exasperated the problem, but is far less likely amongst deer due to big battery farms like that not really being as much of a thing for them.

Looking up CWD, I doubt it would become half as big a problem amongst humans. Not only because deer isnt that big a staple compared to beef, as eating venison isnt that common. It seems that deer hunters are advised not to eat certain part of deer in areas where CWD is found, but I doubt the average person is going to eat deer brain tissue regardless, so unless you’re a deer hunter I don’t think anyone has anything to fear. Looking it up, it also seems that CWD cannot spread from deer to cows (quote from an article “In ongoing experimental studies, after >6 years of observation, no prion disease has developed in 11 cattle orally challenged with the CWD agent or 24 cattle living with infected deer herds”).

I say all this because I don’t want people to get frightened over a disease they are unlikely to actually get, especially since that 4chan post was kinda freaky haha. Even mad cow disease in humans, scary as it is, is quite rare, and thats caught by eating beef, which is way way more prevalent than eating venison. No hate to OP or anything, I just don’t want people to feel paranoid. If you’re a deer hunter you need to take certain precautions, but if you’re not you are likely completely fine.

I was reading about Prion Diseases (stuff like mad cow disease and chronic wasting disease) and similar to how mad cow disease jumped the species barrier to humans, it’s only a matter of time before CWD jumps from deer to humans. What’s scarier is that we don’t know how long these prion diseases can stay dormant in a human. Patient zero might already be out there.
